Make Azeroth breathtaking

"boom!!"
With a loud bang, the smoke from the still-burning gunpowder spread throughout the firing point, causing even the night elves, who were equipped with makeshift dust masks, to cough twice.
"Cough cough... Good, target hit! That damned demon's right hand is severed, and the orc warriors have subdued it... Prepare for the next shot!"
"I thought you elves wouldn't want to use these things."
The goblin shrieked as he crammed the next shell into the breech.
“When bows and arrows cannot solve the problem, using these things is not unacceptable.”
The Night Elf Sentinel Captain quickly locked onto the next target and issued another order.
"Aim, fire!!"
----------------battlefield--------------------
While the night elf sentinels, under the guidance of the tinkerers, used their unique marksmanship to fire cannons of various calibers with the effect of sniper rifles, the human and orc warriors on the front lines were also fighting a bloody battle.
"For the Horde!!"
With two bullet belts wrapped around his body, Valok wielded a weapon in his left hand that Tannis called the 'Prototype Bolt Gun,' while dragging a battle axe with terrifying circular serrated blades—an engineering creation by Tannis—in his right hand. He roared as he charged through the demon horde. Every shot, every axe strike represented the shattering of a demon; every attack, every flash, meant the demise of yet another enemy.
"Roar! Little orc! Your opponent..."
A colossal abyss lord, wielding a battle halberd, approached Varok Saurfang, who was wreaking havoc among the demons, intending to decapitate the valiant warrior. However, before it could even finish its opening salvo, an even larger serrated axe swirled and cleaved its skull. In the blink of an eye, this once-mighty demon slumped to the ground, becoming part of the corpse.
"Brother, it's challenging me!"
Seeing his brother easily steal his credit with a flying axe, Warlock's tone was full of resentment.
"Don't worry about it, my brother, there are still enough enemies for us to kill."
Broxigar Saurfang laughed as he ripped his battle axe from the pit lord's head and charged toward the place with the most demons—the valiant orc warrior refused to use weapons like bolters, but he did not refuse the equipment Tannis offered, called the Power Axe, which would allow him to kill more efficiently.
Led by these two valiant orc warriors, other human or orc warriors wielded various power weapons or carried all sorts of perhaps less-than-reliable individual firearms, fighting fearlessly against the demons of the Burning Legion before them—although most of them had not received systematic firearms shooting training, in a place where you could easily throw a stone and hit a demon, the impact of firearms accuracy had been minimized.
"Maintain the portal! Don't let our supply lines be cut off!!"
In the rear of the third front, Jaina and a group of mages desperately maintained several temporary portals to Ratchet amidst the already chaotic magical network, ensuring a continuous supply of various weapons and ammunition to the battlefield. Meanwhile, Thrall's shamans sat cross-legged beside several massive totems, channeling the surging elemental power into blessings that protected the frontline warriors, granting them greater speed, stronger bodies, greater strength, and faster healing of minor wounds.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!!"
The colossal ancient war trees, carrying all sorts of heavy cannons, fired continuously into the sky. These guardians of nature infused their fury into the cannons blessed by Cenarius, giving them even greater lethality. Fireworks filled with the power of nature bloomed one after another in the sky, causing the Burning Legion's infernals and drop pods to lose more than half of their numbers before they even landed. The fel warships could only fly higher into the air, bombarding the ground intermittently.
"nature!!"
Led by Cenarius, the druids of the Cenarion Circle summoned wave after wave of nature's wrath, causing the weather on the battlefield to constantly shift against the Burning Legion. Sometimes the wind howled, sometimes the rain poured down, and sometimes the thunder roared. Each change threw a group of demons into a frenzy, only to have them die in a hail of blades.
Of course, Tennys's Tinkers unit performed most...surprisingly on the battlefield.
The massive, sharp-edged, metal-cast Tinker Fortress stood in the very center of the third line of defense. Its porcupine-like cannons spewed flames wildly. Every 10 seconds, one drone from each of the eight drone hives would take off and be deployed to the battlefield. The four mechanical goblin manufacturing plants extending from both sides produced mechanical goblins at a rate of one per minute, capable of going toe-to-toe with the demon guards and even self-destructing to make the most of their remaining strength. Meanwhile, RX-78 robots, goblin mines, and EZ-8 counterattack robots, among other grunt robots, poured out in an endless stream, heading to the battlefield through various means.
The battlefield wailed, the battlefield roared, the war was exciting. Every second, demons returned to the Twisting Nether, every second, warriors could no longer stand. Tanis, whose mind had become almost mechanical due to inertia, numbly manipulated the part of the fortress she was in charge of, feeling as if she had become a part of the huge fortress.
"Archimonde has been deployed!!!"
Cenarius's warning snapped Tanis out of her daze. She looked up and saw the enormous Eredar demon already striding up the mountain path.
"How much longer do you need to prepare???"
Tennys slammed her fist on a large red button, putting Tinker Fortress into self-destruct overload mode, while loudly asking questions.
"We need another hour... no! At least half an hour!! We need to hold off Archimonde for another half hour!!"
————————————————Strange dividing line——————————————————
Archimonde was furious. As a demon, anger was a natural emotion, but this time his anger was different from usual.
Having left Dalaran and learned of the current state of Azeroth, Archimonde was extremely satisfied. The demigods were missing, the dragons were in hiding, and there were practically no viable races left on Azeroth. The Scourge, a lowly race, had nearly destroyed human civilization and crushed the High Elf civilization, a branch of their old rivals—the most direct evidence of this. Therefore, instead of waiting patiently in Dalaran for the portal to expand further and send the Legion's main force there, he eagerly launched an expedition towards Mount Hyjal—undoubtedly, if he succeeded, he would become the true second-in-command of the Burning Legion, surpassing even his old comrade Kil'jaeden.
However, a series of setbacks dealt him one blow after another. First, his most valued subordinate, Mannoroth, suffered a disastrous defeat, inexplicably being sent back to the Twisting Nether. Then, Tichondrius was cut down, and the Scourge was completely routed without serving its purpose as cannon fodder. Kaz'roga and Az'galo also perished. Although he didn't care about these losses, how could mortals still fight so well after the legion had suffered such heavy losses?
"Confront the wrath of the polluters, mortals!!"
Seeing a group of warriors charging towards him, Archimonde raised his hand, and a powerful blast of air hurled these helpless men into the sky. The force of the impact knocked them unconscious before they even hit the ground.
"And then! Your souls!!"
Witnessing the scene of these mortals shattering on the ground, Archimonde felt his anger subside slightly. He casually grabbed a few struggling white shadows and maliciously infused them with fel energy.
"Soul charging."
As these souls were detonated, colorful halos spread from Archimonde's hands. Those affected by these halos either turned pale as paper or coughed up blood, essentially losing their fighting ability.
"Retreat! Archimonde is not someone you can handle! We can buy ourselves some time!"
Cenarius shouted loudly, while simultaneously coordinating the forces of nature to more effectively hinder Archimonde. Tannis also controlled all the machines, launching a frenzied attack on Archimonde. The ancient trees also rushed towards Archimonde, attempting to use their massive bodies to buy time. The human and orc soldiers abandoned their heavy equipment and retreated to the rear.
"Boring, boring..."
But none of this mattered. The corruptor simply clenched its fist, and the spreading fel energy pulverized everything in its path, not even the oldest trees lasting more than a minute.
Worse still, Archimonde's arrival sparked a new counterattack by the demon army. Even the night elf sentinels' desperate attempts to intercept them could not stop the demon forces' momentum, and it seemed that the retreating troops were about to be overtaken by them.
"Brother, you take the rest back to the chief. My men, follow me!"
Realizing that things might turn into a rout if things continued this way, Broxigar patted Valok on the shoulder, turned around and faced the oncoming demonic tide. Under Broxigar's orders, some orcs also abandoned their retreat without hesitation and rushed back to the battlefield.
"No! Brother! I want to stay and fight too!"
"If we all die here, the future of the orcs is doomed. I am the commander, listen to me!"
Before his brother could reply, Broxigar leaped and engulfed himself in demonic energy, leaving only his battle cry echoing in everyone's ears.
"Lok'tar ogar!"
----------------rear--------------------
"So... Brox, he..."
Valrock's report sent a wave of dizziness through the already exhausted Thrall. He knew very well that Broxigar was very likely not going to be able to return to his side.
“Saar, we owe you a debt of gratitude. I swear, as long as you do not fight us, we will never raise our swords against you.”
Jaina, understanding that Broxigar's choice was not only for the Horde but also for the safe retreat of her own people, spoke slowly.
"Thank you, Jaina, the Horde is grateful."
Thrall wiped his eyes, turned and walked toward the now-stable portal. Behind him, wounded humans and orcs supported each other as they slowly entered the arcane aura. Further away, Archimonde, who had already torn through the barrier of the third line of defense, was laughing wildly as he approached Nordrassil, completely unaware that Malfurion had already gripped the horn in his hand and was silently watching him.
“The spirits are in position, apprentice.”
Cenarius walked up to Malfurion and spoke softly.
"Yes, teacher."
Seeing Archimonde gripping Nordrassil tightly, Malfurion took a deep breath and brought his mouth to the horn.
"Ugh——"
I. The Visiting Druid
"Hey......."
In the barren land, amidst the muddy swamps, Tennys' oil fields were bustling with activity, while Tennys herself lay slumped over her desk, sighing deeply.
The battle at Mount Hyjal has been over for almost a month, and the fragments of memory in Tannis's mind are gradually being unlocked, telling her what the battle would have turned out like if she hadn't intervened.
From a macro perspective, the outcome of this battle wouldn't have been any different without her, but from a micro perspective, things become much more interesting.
First, Cenarius did not die, and the Warsong Clan only clashed with the Sentinel Forces of Ashenvale while under demonic control. Therefore, the Night Elves' hatred for the Orcs was far less than what was shown in the memories. Moreover, an Orc whose reputation among the Night Elves was inexplicably worshipped actually crawled out from the pile of demon corpses in Mount Hyjal. This allowed the Orcs to obtain a logging permit for a small forest in Ashenvale after the war—as long as they remembered to plant trees to prevent the forest from degrading. Therefore, at least in the short term, the clash between Orcs and Night Elves in Ashenvale revealed in the fragments of memory will not happen.
Then, people in Stormwind Kingdom of the Eastern Kingdoms and Ironforge who had close ties with Ratchet were indirectly drawn into the war. They also learned through Ratchet that the orcs were fighting a bloody battle against the Burning Legion. As a result, the orcs' reputation in the Eastern Kingdoms actually improved slightly, from bloodthirsty beasts to barbarians who were somewhat approachable.
Of course, the most significant change was that, because Ratchet participated in the Battle of Hyjal, its reputation among the human kingdoms and Ironforge rose considerably, making it much easier for Ratchet's caravans to do business. Furthermore, the night elves, who had lost their immortality, also chose Ratchet as a bridge to reconnect with the world, giving Ratchet a business partner that appeared poor but was actually quite wealthy.
However... a series of problems followed...
First, the Battle of Hyjal exposed the trade between Ratchet and the Orcish Horde, making business in some sensitive areas more difficult. Second... Tanis experienced a break in her cash flow...
Indeed, Tannis, who should have made a fortune from arms sales, experienced a cash flow crisis in her production line. The reasons for this, besides the fact that many of her equipment needed major repairs due to the war, were also the direct factor that the three consumers from the Battle of Hyjal had problems with their repayment ability.
The orcish tribes had only just established themselves in Kalimdor and hadn't even properly managed their settlements. Coupled with the heavy losses of young orcs in the Battle of Mount Hyjal, all of this made it extremely difficult for the orcs to repay their debts. Fortunately, they discovered a gold mine with exploitable value on the narrow peninsula they named Durotar, and given time, repaying Tani's money shouldn't be a problem.
Jaina's humans—well, she did bring a lot of precious metals with her when she came, but the problem is that they don't have a place to settle down. So her money has been used to buy all sorts of building materials to build a town after they find a place to settle down. As a result, Jaina told Tannis with great guilt that she basically had no working capital to operate for the next six months.
Then there are the Night Elves... Actually, logically speaking, the Night Elves aren't short of money, and they've already given the money for the weapons to Tannis. But—the key—is this! Because the Night Elves have been isolated for ten thousand years, they don't have conventional precious metal currency. Instead, they used all sorts of luxury goods or magical materials to pay off their debts! Converting these things into cash takes years, if you're unlucky!
So, Tanis reluctantly had to pay for the labor and material costs in Ironforge and Stormwind out of her own pocket, but this only delayed things...
"Aaaaaaah!"
Tanis clutched her head and started rubbing it against the table. In fact, Gazlowe was very willing to help her through this financial crisis, but the price was that Tanis's spoils—well, I mean those hard-to-cash items sent by the night elves—would be bought back by her father at goblin prices. This loss wouldn't be just one or two times, it might be ten times or more!
Just as Tennys was having a fit, the phone rang. She picked it up, and her assistant, Baoshen, came through the receiver.
“Miss Tanis, several druids wish to see you.”
——————————————Reception Room——————————————————
"You want to restore the ecological environment of this barren land?"
Tanis sat on the sofa, sipping a cup of tea, looking at the druid mentor named Naralex from the Cenarion Circle and several of his druid disciples standing silently behind him.
"Yes, ten thousand years ago, the ecology of the Barren Lands was much better than it is now. But that cataclysmic event changed everything. The rivers on the surface were buried deep underground by the soil, turning them into underground rivers. At the same time, due to the collapse of the mountains, the direction of some winds also changed. These two major factors led to the Barren Lands becoming the terrible environment of half loess and half grassland that we see today."
"So, you plan to bring the underground river to the surface? But how deep is that river..."
Tanis frowned. When she was just starting out, she had a very unpleasant encounter with the underground rivers of the Barrens, and she knew very well how awkward the main depth of the underground rivers was.
"Don't worry, we druids have our methods, Miss Tanis. I've heard that your Ratchet City once explored the underground river for some reason, so I've come to visit hoping to purchase a map from you out of the general direction of the underground river you discovered."
"That's not a problem... but what do you need that picture for?"
"I hope to find the largest underground water accumulation area in the Barrens by analyzing the flow of the underground rivers, so that I can perform druidic rituals there to redirect the water flow and gradually create rivers on the surface."
"The largest gathering place... I do know that place..."
The fragments of memory in Tannis's mind gradually became clearer, and she now knew who the druid in front of her was.
"However... that place... is a bit eerie."
