Orpheus felt as if the evil god smiled, though he wasn't sure if it was just his imagination.
"Thanks to your excellent restoration of order, it should be almost done by now. Let me give you a little hint: if you're feeling down, you can go and take a look at the 'First Land'."
The evil god seemed not to intend to linger, and turned around to wave his hand.
"Well, it seems you have another banquet coming up. I'll just go in and grab some food. Take your time."
Before the words were even finished, the figure of the evil god had already vanished, leaving Orpheus standing there lost in thought.
"The First Land..."
After a murmur, Orpheus's figure also drifted away with the wind.
When it reappeared, it was in a silent void.
The original land that the evil god spoke of was probably incomprehensible to most people, except for Orpheus, who knew the memories of the primordial dragon.
The place where order began, the place where dragons originated—naturally, the birthplace of the primordial dragons.
The coordinates of this place were always recorded in the heart of the primordial dragon.
Upon arriving here, Orpheus felt a strong sense of familiarity.
Hmm... it's very similar to the embrace of the primordial dragon back then.
In addition, the order here is also quite unique.
Order, in the end, is a set of rules forcibly laid out in the void, but this place is different. The order here is as natural as if it had always existed.
Finally, Orpheus raised his head slightly.
A huge sphere of light was slowly floating in the void.
"I see..."
Orpheus waved her hand softly to herself, and the ball of light slowly shrank as it floated into her arms.
The girl, who had become a true dragon god, smiled slightly.
"I can't let you dump all the work on me and then just run away."
She tucked the orb of light into her sleeve, then reinforced the barrier that the primordial dragon had once set up here, before finally disappearing and heading towards her original destination.
──Hakoden, the city of ether.
As soon as Orpheus appeared, the overwhelming cheers almost blew her away.
She looked down.
The miniature garden is gradually transforming into the central hub of the entire void, and the Ether City, which is the starting point of Orpheus in the miniature garden, has become a gathering place for many of his followers.
Among them are newcomers and those who have been with Orpheus all the way to the present.
Celestial Army, Winged Sky Clan, Dragon Essence Clan...
Orpheus's gaze swept across the crowd, finally settling on the last small group of people waving at him.
Norns, Enkidu, Siduri, White Night, the Twin Goddesses, and all sorts of other goddesses... let's include that evil goddess lady as well.
Whether it was when she was a young child or when she had to travel around to quell the chaos in various places, these people were the ones who gave her the greatest help.
Orpheus touched the small orb of light with his hand hidden in his robes.
To be honest, the responsibilities that the Primal Dragons inexplicably dumped on us are really annoying.
Even for the sake of these people, Orpheus needs to maintain a void suitable for survival.
No matter what, there's still the primordial dragon that can find an excuse for itself.
—To make one's living environment more comfortable, and so on.
It seems that even after defeating her biggest enemy, she still has to work overtime for a long time without being able to relax.
Who made the dragon race a species bound by responsibility from the very beginning of their ancestors?
"So, is 'silence' ultimately still out of reach?"
Orpheus smiled slightly and slowly floated toward his 'chains'.
"However, this might not be so bad."
Finish this testimonial
It's finished! *thumps*
Actually, I really wanted to add "finally" before "end". I've wanted to finish this book for a long time, and you can tell from the update frequency that I've had a lot on my plate lately.
In addition, I'm not really that enthusiastic about this book anymore.
I initially really liked the character of Orpheus, but similar to Jeanne d'Arc's smile in Fate/Zero, as the original novel continued to develop her character, my feelings for Orpheus weren't as strong as they used to be (also, this is just a metaphor; I still really like Jeanne d'Arc).
It's inherently difficult to write a character with no personality, and my own writing skills are lacking. In addition, there were significant flaws in the plot design of the miniature garden, which led to the protagonist almost disappearing from the public eye. I could only mechanically keep writing, and in the end, many plot holes remained unfilled.
Although I was accumulating experience while writing, many mistakes were irreversible even after I noticed them later.
I've come to understand the mindset of many authors who like to start new projects as they write. While writing this book, I actually had many ideas, but almost none of them could be used in the context of Orpheus; they could only be used in different works.
Those who have been following along from the beginning should know that I didn't initially plan to put it on sale, but I have to admit that if it hadn't been on sale, I might not have had the sense of responsibility to write it to the end.
I would also like to thank all the friends who have supported this novel, especially those who have supported it to the end. To be honest, there are many problems with this book that I can hardly bear to look at now. I probably couldn't even follow it from beginning to end myself (laughs).
In short, thanks to everyone's support, I finally managed to finish this book, and I can be a little proud of myself in this pigeonhole of a bookstore.
As for the next book, there will definitely be one. After all, by now, taking some time each day to write has become a habit and a way to relax for me. The subject matter will be similar to this book, since writing is more of a hobby than a means of making a living for me, so it's better to write what I like.
Actually, I've already pretty much finalized the plans for my next book.
The intended protagonist is Caster Artoria. Besides that, I had thought about Ayaka, whom I mentioned a long time ago, and I also considered and even tried writing some of the Valkyrie Slud, whom I particularly like. But in the end, I chose Caster Artoria because she is a new favorite (laughs). The first world is an old anime from 17 that Bilibili only recently acquired. It is so obscure that I can hardly find any fan works, but I really like the world view and think it is very suitable for development, so I chose it.
Simply put, it's an outdated mobile game's outdated mascot paired with an extremely obscure starting character (facepalm).
Having said all that, the truth is that because I'm afraid of being betrayed, I'll definitely wait until FGO 2.6 is released before publishing the new book. In other words, if my procrastination is severe, I might not be able to publish it even by the time half of next year is over. I can only wait and hold onto hope.
Finally, thank you again to everyone who has read this book. I hope to see old friends again someday!
My new book, "The Holy Sword Spirit Doesn't Want to Work Overtime"
Well, although I delayed for half a year after Mushroom's book, I delayed for another half year myself, but anyway, the new book is finally here. As I said before, it features Caster as the protagonist. I hope those who are interested will support it.
Summary:
If you keep working this hard, you'll have to keep working hard forever, won't you?
Faced with this question, the girl gave her answer with a firm resolve.
"But I've never heard that their business scope includes other worlds?!"
The Holy Sword Spirit felt very tired.
The Holy Sword Spirit doesn't want to work overtime.
"By the way, if we can find someone to help, we won't have to work overtime, right?"
Thus, Artoria once again embarked on a long journey, a journey as beautiful as a white lily in full bloom.
As always, the introduction is inadequate; please forgive me.
