This was really a last resort. Sorin had been worried that handing Ivyxin over to the Rainbow Team might turn her into the true Purifying Angel Ivyxin. However, at this point, the only way he could think of to protect Ivyxin was to contact the Rainbow Team and let the professionals handle the matter.
After all, he doesn't know how to program, nor does he know how to operate this thing.
"To make a long story short, Yaoben, I found an auxiliary AI attached to the Cardinal System, but the Cardinal System is now trying to eliminate her. If you still want to keep this AI, help me protect her now."
Solin finished speaking this long string of words at lightning speed, then ran to the console and covered the keyboard with both hands.
"I have the hand speed to rank in the top five of the esports Hall of Fame, and you're a world-class hacker... no problem!"
[But you're not a professional programmer... never mind, type this command to temporarily transfer control, then let me handle it.]
[And Yuna has the same level of authority as you. Thanks to her father, you can explain things to her with peace of mind afterward.]
[And I know what you're thinking. You haven't streamed for so long, and now you suddenly tell me there's an AI that's so cute. I bet you've already raised it like a daughter, you shut-in.]
Of course, since this is your daughter, I won't touch her, you can rest assured.
【What?! I'm holding my granddaughter? Typical son of mine!】
Finally, are you going to try to improve your hand speed like someone who comes from a StarCraft background?
A long row of comments instantly appeared in front of Solin's eyes. Apart from one comment from Mo Tianfang, the rest were all typed by Grace in less than ten seconds. He looked at the comment assistant in the upper right corner, copied the command that Grace had just entered into the console, and then waited on the side.
“Remember, Ivy, now you have more than just me and Youna behind you; you have a large and professional team behind you. I won’t let you leave my side, I swear.” Solin half-squatted down, gently hugged Ivy, and stroked her head. Ivy’s emotions had stabilized a bit. She hugged Solin’s waist, rubbing her little head against his chest, and sobbing softly.
"Solin, what are you doing right now...who are you talking to?" Yuna, who had just been crying her eyes out, now looked at Solin as if he had found a solution and asked with some confusion, "I feel like you're not doing a live stream, but rather talking to a specific person...could it be that you were just talking to Ya Wang and the others...?"
[By the way, there's a problem. If I use this PC I have, the PoH information I painstakingly found for you will be gone. Are you sure?]
"I don't have time to worry about that damn PoH right now, I need to get my daughter back first!"
The situation was quite amusing. Although she had regained all her memories, Aivisin was still clueless about the ways of the world, and Youna had no idea who Solin was talking to. They stood there completely bewildered, while Solin, having already relinquished control of the console, had nothing to do. Thus, what should have been a life-or-death situation turned into a scene where all three of them seemed utterly idle.
“I was just trying to scare them. In fact, if an ordinary person really knew, all they would have to do is sign a confidentiality agreement. And you have enough authority because of Professor Shigemura.” Sorin explained to Yuna while Grace was working. “But I’m sorry, Yuna, I still can’t say anything. Once we’re out of SAO, you’ll know anything you want to know.”
Sorin wasn't actually afraid of Yuu knowing these things; he was afraid of Kayaba Akihiko. After all, there was currently a single designated GM in the game, and whether this privileged individual could actually monitor the game was uncertain. That's why he always used the esports terminology—that is, the name "Grace"—because he was afraid that Kayaba Akihiko would hear the codename "Dokkaebi" and guess who was behind Sorin, thus revealing their plans.
——————Chiba, an unknown building——————
"I didn't even have this much maneuvering in my WCG finals match against soO! What the hell is Kayaba Akihiko coming up with?"
Grace shouted this, her face showing a look of horror, her hands moving non-stop, rapidly dancing across the keyboard, almost creating a continuous blur of afterimages.
This operation is a race against time. She needs to extract Ivy's data and upload it to the Rainbow Team's database backup. At the same time, she needs to use this interface to hack into the Cardinal system, so that Ivy can get away with it right under Cardinal's nose.
“IQ, assist me with the operation, using another PC.” Grace turned her head and instructed, then looked at Doc, “And it seems that Xiao Mo doesn’t intend to hand over ownership of this AI… or rather, custody to us, so there shouldn’t be any problem, right?”
“Ash just said the United States wants the relevant technology, that has nothing to do with me.” Doc shrugged, seemingly unconcerned about the AI’s ultimate custody. “Always remember our position: we don’t need to serve any government of any country. We are a counterterrorism force, and we will only ever be a counterterrorism force.”
“I understand… It’s all done!” Grace replied in a moment, her hands still waving, then she pressed Enter. “The AI has now been uploaded to Rainbow Team’s database. Now we just need to complete the next steps. The task is no longer that difficult.”
------
“Strange… the Cardinal System’s monitoring has disappeared, Dad.” Ivy Xin suddenly whispered in Solin’s arms, “That means Ivy Xin and Mom and Dad won’t have to be separated anymore.”
“Yes… Yao Ben did a great job.” Solin patted Aivixin’s head again, then lifted her up high under her armpits. “Don’t worry, Daddy won’t leave you at home to go out and fight by himself anymore. Daddy promises you.”
"Okay. Promise me, Ivy will always protect Daddy." Ivy felt particularly novel about being lifted up like this, after all, this was a height she could never reach in her lifetime without spreading her wings. "Can we go home now?"
“Yes…we can go home now.” Solin put Ivy down and then looked at Yuna. “Let’s go home.”
143. The Inner World and the Outer World (Part 8) (Bonus Chapter 33/75)
There's a saying that goes, if you're a layman, even if a programmer is coding right in front of you, you won't know what they're writing. That's pretty much the situation now. Grace didn't have a reason to hide it from Doc, but in reality, she just trusted that slacker more.
"But I want to know why. You have to give me a reason, Chu Ziyu."
Grace explained that when she was separating Ivyxin, a piece of code suddenly appeared in the upper right corner of the screen, indicating that it could copy the Cardinal system. It wasn't until Doc finished her work and returned to Dongda University that Chu Ziyu told her he was the one who created the code.
“Because this isn’t something that kid can protect alone. Don’t underestimate it just because it’s just an AI; if he can’t do it, neither can your Rainbow Squad.” Chu Ziyu’s tone was icy, making it clear that he was a veteran who had been active on the battlefield since the Battle of Mogadishu, not the naive boy he appeared to be. “If you want the Rainbow Squad to continue to exist, don’t tell Gustav about this, and don’t spread it around. As for that kid… I’ll talk to him personally.”
"...Chu Ziyu, I still want to ask that question: who exactly are you?"
"How would I know who I am? Some things can't be hidden from you no matter what you do, but if even I don't know something myself... how can I tell you?"
He left those words behind, walked to the door, and opened it.
"And I will help you find Kayaba Akihiko, but let me make it clear first, your operation plan was doomed from the start. In short, this is the last time I will help you. Take care of yourselves."

This is the basement of a residential building. Of course, outsiders wouldn't know or see that such an ordinary residential building would suddenly have such a basement. The lights illuminating the interior are not bright, but with the help of the light, it can be clearly seen that this is actually a facility similar to a research institute.
“I’ve finished the final preparations, Jingyan, but are you really sure?” The woman said this while tidying up the files on the table. She put the last part of the files into a file folder, then picked up a USB drive from the table and looked worriedly at the man sitting beside her. “If you take this step, you may never be able to come back.”
“I’m certain. The moment I decided to officially launch SAO and turn it into a death game, I knew I was never coming back, Rinko.” The man sighed, his tone resolute. “Go now, Rinko, it’s no longer safe here.”
“…I understand. Take care.” The woman called Rinko put the last file and the USB drive into a small box, then carried the box out, leaving him alone in the cold basement.
“I have fulfilled my dream, and you have come into this world as promised. This is really not bad.” He murmured to himself, then lay back down on the bed in front of him, which was covered with white sheets, and put a heavy helmet on his head. “Maybe you have already noticed, maybe you haven’t... but I have to take this step.”
------
A 22-story country villa in Oregon.
After experiencing various ups and downs, Suolin once again returned home and became a recluse. Calling him a recluse isn't entirely accurate, because he still goes out quite often. He just rarely goes to those leveling areas to grind monsters anymore.
He was now standing on the lawn by the door, a katana in his hand, facing off against the little girl in front of him. The little girl had enormous wings and was floating in mid-air, holding a double-pointed spear pointed directly at Sorin, ready for battle.
"I have a feeling that even in one-hit kill mode, I could easily be taken down by Ivy Xin." Solin suddenly said this, then lowered his center of gravity and charged towards Ivy Xin in an instant, "Round one!"
He was fast, but Ivy's reaction was even faster. She quickly adjusted her posture and used her double-pointed spear to block Solin's thrusting katana.
With a "duang~", both of them were knocked back slightly. After this failed attack, Solin took two more steps back and switched to a defensive stance.
"Dad, watch out!" Ivy warned in advance, then flapped her wings and swiftly lunged at Solin. However, as soon as Solin saw Ivy flap her wings, he silently counted down in his mind, then quickly raised his sword and assumed the starting stance for the Insightful Slash, blocking Ivy's thrust. He then used the back of his sword to tap the side of Ivy's wing.
In fact, after activating the system's acceleration skill, Sorin usually only uses it on the Foresight Slash. This is why he can always reliably execute the Foresight Slash at the last second and then counterattack. The words "[You Win]" appeared before his eyes, and Ivy seemed to see something similar, showing a slightly frustrated expression.
"Next time you face an opponent wielding a katana or carrying a shield, make sure to bait out their cooldowns for their 'Observation Slash' or 'Parry' before attacking." Sorin sheathed his sword and tenderly stroked Ivy's wings. "Does it hurt?"
"It doesn't hurt. Shall we do another round, Daddy?" Ivy lowered her head first, then raised her double-pointed spear again, her eyes burning with fighting spirit. "It definitely won't be like this the second time!"
“Sure, I’ll change my weapon.” Solin said, taking the war staff out of the kaleidoscope again. “There’s a lot of talk about long-handled PVP internal battles. Let me explain it to you first before we fight.”
Just then, the window on the second floor of the villa suddenly opened. It was Ivy's room, but standing inside was Yuna.
"Solin, stop teaching the kids for now and come up for dinner!" She leaned halfway out of the window and called out to Solin and Ivy, "I went to Kirito's place today to buy some mixed rabbit stew. I heard it's an S-grade ingredient."
“Rabbits… I’ve heard of them, but my build is clearly not suited for catching rabbits,” Sorin murmured, then retracted his battle staff into the kaleidoscope. He watched as Ivy, directly above him, folded her wings and spear and plummeted straight down. He quickly reached out and caught her. “Let’s go, Ivy, let’s eat first. Tomorrow… how about going out with Dad?”
"Anything is fine. As long as I'm with my mom and dad, I'm happy."
Chapter 144, Yuna, no! Yuna, no! (Bonus Chapter 34/75)
Solin recently discovered some new gameplay content. The main storyline of SAO is quite monotonous, simply a matter of "If you're a man, climb to the 100th floor." However, in contrast, the game boasts a massive side quest system. Unlike other MMORPGs, SAO truly creates a world. And since it's a vast world, naturally, all sorts of things will happen, allowing players to find their own meaning in this world.
Of course, the last rule disappeared after the game went live. The purpose of all players' survival was either to stay alive or to conquer the hundredth floor. Only someone like Solin, with top-tier equipment and a fully-developed character, who knew how to truly conquer the Floating City, would care so much about these various side quests in the game.
"Just think of it as playing a script game," Sorin said at the time. And the fact that he could stay at home with his wife and children while still gathering information on side quests was also thanks to another girl, an information broker who only called him God of Wealth, namely Argo.
[Argo: There's a pretty fun mission this time, but I bet you can guess the plot just from the title. Do you want it?]
[SorinMarkov: Tell me, what's the name of this mission? Just hearing the name tells you the plot... what a classic mission it must be!]
[Argo: Deathmine, if you want 5000 Kol, I'll come to your house to get the money.]
[SorinMarkov: Holy crap, they have this too? Okay, okay, come to me later.]
Sorin became interested as soon as he heard the quest name, mainly because for a Horde player like him, whether the quest ended with him killing Van Cleef or blowing up Stormwind, he wouldn't feel too bad. Of course, he still needed to discuss it with Yuna and Ivysin later.
(Special note: Veteran WoW players, please refrain from spoilers in the following chapters. I know that some of my readers are veteran WoW players, especially Alliance players...)
Of course, Solin's focus wasn't on that mission right now. He realized that the reason Ivy walked with that elegant, noble, and slow posture was because she rarely walked before. So she had to slow down while appearing sophisticated to avoid tripping over her own feet and falling flat on her face like a little girl.
However, now that Suolin is holding her in a princess carry, these problems are no longer an issue.
"Daddy was so amazing just now! I felt like Ivy didn't have a chance to fight back. If it were a real fight, Ivy would probably be defeated very quickly." Ivy gently wrapped her arms around Solin's neck, finding the most comfortable position to snuggle into his embrace. "Daddy, do you really think Ivy can protect you?"
"Have more confidence in yourself, Ivy. You could say that in a real fight, one hit from you could take me down to zero health, while ten hits from me might not even take away a tenth of your HP." Solin smiled and nuzzled Ivy's cheek, encouraging her. "You'll see when you go on the picnic with Daddy tomorrow."
He went upstairs, placed Ivy on a chair with a thick velvet cushion, and then went to the kitchen to help take out the tableware from the cabinet.
"What an amazing aroma! Mixed rabbit stew... This is the first time I've ever tasted an S-grade ingredient." As soon as Suolin entered the kitchen, he noticed the rich aroma and the stew pot that seemed to be radiating light. "Why does this feel like the art style has changed again? What's with these special effects that look like they're from the anime 'Cooking Master Boy'?"
"Because my cooking skills are maxed out, otherwise I wouldn't have gone out of my way to buy this mixed rabbit stew from Kirito." Yuna nodded, her tone quite boastful. "You must be a little tired after practicing with Ivy all afternoon, so go to bed early tonight."
“I think if you want to relieve fatigue, you can stay up a little later and do something more meaningful. For example…” Sorin said with a mischievous grin, then took the stew pot from Yuna’s hands. However, after holding the stew pot in both hands, he realized something was wrong and immediately regretted taking the pot.
Yuna smiled at him with a smile similar to his earlier one, walked to his side, and then leaned her head close to Sorin's ear, sticking out her little tongue to gently lick Sorin's slightly flushed earlobe.
"Oh, you're blushing, let me see!" Of course, this was accompanied by terrible dialogue. And what's worse, someone must have told Yuna the story of "If I had known boys could be sexually assaulted," which has made Yuna completely understand how to use these awful "Jack-of-all-trades" lines.
"Stop messing around, let me take the pot over first... Yuna, no! Yuna, no!" Sorin quickly took two steps, but Yuna, seeing Sorin trying to avoid her, suddenly became playful, stuck to Sorin's back, wrapped her right arm around his waist, and gently placed her left hand on certain indescribable places.
"Don't do this, Ivy is still in the living room... Don't mess with me, the pot is going to spill... Stop it, my friend, this isn't appropriate..."
After a long and complicated process, Sorin, wearing his Locket of the Iron Mantle, finally managed to deliver the dragon egg amidst the constant attacks of the Pink Rathian. He then lay limply on the chair, his movements and expressions remarkably resembling those of a certain actor surnamed Ge.
"You're just taking advantage of the fact that I can't take it off my hands. You'll see tonight." He said, feigning anger, and then picked up the chopsticks on the table. "It's strange, really. After using knives and forks for more than ten years, I've found that chopsticks are still the most comfortable."
“It’s probably because you lived in China when you were very young. Didn’t you say you went to Vladivostok when you were four?” Yuna picked up her chopsticks. “I’m starting to eat.”
“Speaking of which, there’s something I need to tell you. Since Yaoben said you have the authority before,” Sorin said, as if suddenly remembering something, “I only found out about this after I reached the third level. My father served in a secret unit. When they joined that unit, their files were canceled and marked as killed in action, so he is actually still alive.”
“But I don’t think it makes any difference to you. You said you’re twenty-five this year, right? So, by that calculation, you haven’t seen your father for a full twenty-one years…”
“That makes sense, but even if I saw him now, I probably wouldn’t feel anything strong. I just don’t want you to see some idiot who claims to be my father and scream in fright,” Solin explained, then shifted the topic to tomorrow’s travel plans. “Let’s do a mission together tomorrow, and bring Ivy Xin along.”
145. Rebuild...where? Stormwind?
"Hello, adventurer. Our city was destroyed by the orcs who invaded from the north. Now that we have repelled the orcs, we urgently need to rebuild our city. Please help us find an architect who can help us rebuild our home."
[Accept the quest: Rebuild Stormwind? yes/no]
