"Yes, I know. Once anyone has experienced that guy's Noble Phantasm, they'll be able to guess his true form." A deep sense of dread, a fear of that guy's Noble Phantasm, emanated from Cú Chulainn's tone.
"The second sword in the stone, used to select a king. It was arguably the most famous holy sword of your time."
Its name is Excalibur.
After he finished speaking, all three of them, except for Nianzhuo, showed expressions of disbelief, their eyes widening.
"It's Excalibur or something..." Mary murmured in surprise.
"The world-renowned King of Knights, King Arthur's sword." Cú Chulainn closed his eyes, as if he had already anticipated this reaction.
Set sail and embark on your journey!
"You actually want my Servant and this child to..." Marie looked at the silent Nianzhuo beside her. Even if she trusted her Servant implicitly, Nianzhuo was still a Servant with virtually no historical renown, and coupled with Mash, a Demi-Servant whose Noble Phantasm was unknown, they were being sent to fight the world-renowned King of Knights. It was like a newly created newbie and a casual player trying to fight against a top-tier player in a game. There was practically no chance of victory.
Mary bit her finger and thought for a few minutes, then ran upstairs, saying she needed to make some preparations.
"At least, if it can increase Nianzhuo's chances of winning by a tiny margin..."
Watching Mary run upstairs, Nianzhuo gently grasped the E-class watch face in his pocket.
"Hoo—" With a soft sigh, Nian Zhuo called out to the system in his mind, "Hey, system, show me my current data and my possessions."
Almost instantly, a crystalline blue light screen appeared before Nian Zhuo's eyes.
"Host: Nian Zhuo"
Job Title: Rider
"Strength: e"
"Agile:d"
Durability: e+
"Noble Phantasm:???"
Luck: C+
"Items in hand: God Limit Gaming Cartridge x1 (Trial Card), Kamen Rider Chronoze Trial Card x1, Build Watch x1, Ex-Aid Watch x1, Ghost Watch x1 (Unrecognized), EVOLTO Stage 4 Watch x1 (Unrecognized)"
Looking at his stats, Nian Zhuo clenched his fists and gazed towards the direction of the vast void; there lay the end of this journey.
Footsteps sounded again from behind. Mary came down from upstairs with some pebbles in her hand, and then came to Nianzhuo. She carefully held his beast and placed some of the pebbles in his palm.
"Stars Cosmos Gods Animus Hollow," Mary chanted an unknown magic incantation, her slender fingertips drawing magical symbols on the stone before handing most of them to Nianzhuo.
"I don't know if this disposable magic tool will even work, but something is better than nothing. Nianzhuo, you're my servant... so you have to win!" The director's orange eyes met Nianzhuo's silent, dark eyes, a glimmer of hope in them. Yes, this girl believed in you unconditionally, believed you could bring her victory, believed you could take her home, back to the place where she should be responsible.
Nian Zhuo remained silent, then suddenly hugged Mary's waist, forcefully taking her lips and ruthlessly stealing the sweet nectar from Mary's mouth.
"Ugh! Waaah! Ugh ugh ugh!!" Mary's eyes widened in shock as she felt Nian Zhuo's lips pressed against her body. She struggled weakly with her arms, pushing against Nian Zhuo's chest, but to no avail.
Nianzhuo continued to steal the sweet saliva from Mary's mouth. Seeing Mary's face gradually turn redder and redder, Nianzhuo finally let go of Mary. Their cool lips parted, and a strand of saliva hung down.
"You! You! You! How could you!" Covering her mouth, Mary looked at Nian Zhuo in front of her with shame and indignation, but she didn't expect that Nian Zhuo was also staring at her.
"Mary, I know you're scared and lack confidence right now. My verbal promises aren't enough, so I'll prove it with my actions. I, Nenju, will definitely bring you victory. After we get back, I'll have a thrilling Pokémon battle with you!" His words were ambiguous, yet they couldn't change Mary's feelings of shame and indignation.
“But, but you can’t do it in front of so many people…” Mary blushed and turned to glare at the trio pretending to admire the scenery.
Cú Chulainn watched Nian Zhuo and Mary with a playful smile from the start, while Ritsuka blushed and turned her back, not daring to look at the scene. Mashu, meanwhile, watched Mary being hugged by Nian Zhuo and slightly tightened her grip on her shield.
In an instant, the tense atmosphere vanished, and the room was filled with a cheerful mood once again.
"Oh, by the way, little girl, could you give me a few of these too?" Cú Chulainn stepped forward and held out his hand towards the disposable knife magic props that Marie had wanted him to make.
"Huh? As Caster magicians, shouldn't you look down on us modern magicians? Why do you need this..." Mary looked at him with a puzzled expression, but obediently handed over some of the magic props to Cú Chulainn.
Gently weighing the pebble in his hand, Cú Chulainn said with a smile, "Ah, I don't really look down on modern magicians. Besides, didn't you just say that something is better than nothing?"
Then, seeing Nianzhuo had already reached the door, Cú Chulainn quickly went up to him and put his arm around his shoulder.
"Hey kid, are you ready?" "Ready a long time ago, huh?"
Nianzhuo waved his hand, urging the people behind him to hurry up and catch up.
The King of Time, the Pure Knight, the Celtic Prince of Light, and the two from Chaldea.
He embarked on a journey to pay homage to the dark king.
The Magic of Great Britain: Artoria - Dinner is served!
Having traversed layers of forest, and bathed in the bright moonlight, Nencho and the others finally arrived at the source of magic in Fuyuki City: the entrance to the great void above Ryudou Temple.
"The Greater Grail is inside," Cú Chulainn said to the Chaldea group, looking into the dark cave. His voice echoed through the cave walls, carrying deep into the cavern. "It looks like a natural cave," Mash said, observing the surrounding trees and grass, still asking Cú Chulainn as if seeking an answer. "Was this originally part of Fuyuki City?"
“This is something that’s half natural and half man-made,” Director Mary spoke first, observing the orderly structure of the inner walls. No one understood this better than her, a magician. “It’s an underground workshop that a magician has been developing over many years.”
"Fu! Fufu!" Fufu, who was perched on Nianzhuo's shoulder, seemed to sense something and stood up, calling out to everyone behind them.
"Huh?!" Since Fou could make that sound, the only people appearing besides those it recognized were enemies. Quickly concluding this, Mash held her shield and stood in front of the director and Ritsuka.
"Oh, a follower has already appeared right after I finished speaking," Cú Chulainn greeted the newcomer as if he were an old acquaintance.
Not far from the entrance, on a steep slope, the sound of footsteps echoed, and the figure of a robust man with white hair appeared before everyone.
The newcomer had white hair, a dark complexion, and wore a black, form-fitting suit that accentuated his physique. A cloak draped around his waist, and iron boots pounded the ground. Red markings adorned his body, and both his left hand and left eye silently proclaimed him as an enemy. At this moment, the only Servants who would actively seek him out were Saber, who remained within the Great Void, and Archer, who protected her. Realizing the newcomer was a skilled ranged swordsman/archer, Mash unconsciously raised her shield even higher.
"Are you still protecting the master of the holy sword?" As if confirming the purpose of the Servant in front of him, Cú Chulainn looked at the stern-faced hunter not far away with a smile.
“I don’t recall ever being a believer,” the man replied coldly and sarcastically to Cú Chulainn’s question. “My job is simply to tell bored visitors to leave.”
"Isn't that just a gatekeeper?" A thick sneer rang out, and Cú Chulainn's fighting spirit began to rise. Watching this scene, Nian Zhuo couldn't help but recall how these two had always clashed in Fate/stay night when he was watching the anime. However—
(Saying that Emiya is a doorman, could this be considered an official response to Red Archer's taunt of Cu Chulainn in Fate/stay night lol)
"I don't know whose hands you want to protect Saber from," Cú Chulainn raised his right hand, as if in a challenge, yet also as an invitation.
"But now, let's settle this here—"
"Hmph—" The white-haired hunter snorted softly, then his hands formed a fist, and a jet-black bow appeared in his left hand. His right hand materialized a longsword, which he nocked onto the bowstring. In the past, almost no one would use a longsword, meant for melee combat, as a bow and arrow. With a flash of light, the longsword quickly drew back, transforming into a jet-black bow and arrow.
"I'm sorry, I don't have that much free time—" Drawing his bow to its fullest extent, Archer released a jet-black arrow, unleashing waves of magical energy as it charged aggressively towards the Chaldea members.
Aside from Nencho knowing the plot and not moving, Mashu even stepped back, trying to shield Ritsuka and the director from the attack.
However, someone was faster than them.
Chanting the magic incantation "Eihwaz," Cú Chulainn watched as the incoming surveillance device was engulfed in fire and dissipated into the air. Still in his usual irreverent tone, he taunted, "Don't say such discouraging things, archer." Facing the white-haired hunter who projected arrows again, Cú Chulainn, a smug smile on his face, waved his hand, and several runes reappeared in the air, condensing into fireballs that flew towards the archer.
"Or are you saying you lack the confidence to defeat me—" Another sarcastic remark followed. If it weren't for the white-haired Emiya's inherently sharp edges, a berserker might have charged in right away.
"Tsk," Archer muttered, glancing at the oncoming heatwave. He dodged the incoming fireballs, then a huge explosion rang out. He had no choice but to abandon his bow and jump back. Where the archers had been stationed, there was a large crater, from which the smell of burnt earth wafted.
Seeing that Archer's rhythm was disrupted, Cú Chulainn quickly waved to the Chaldea group behind him, "Go now, Saber is inside," telling the Chaldea singularity group the location of their final destination.
Looking into the cave, its darkness seemed to gape like the roar of a ferocious beast, everyone felt pressured. But in the end, it was the director who spoke.
"Let's go!" Mary quickly led Ritsuka and Mash into the cave. Cú Chulainn, guarding the cave entrance, watched the four figures disappear into the thick darkness, a hint of determination finally appearing on his lips.
"Tsk—" The white-haired guard watched the Chaldea group disappear and took a step to intercept them, but Cú Chulainn, who was faster than him, blocked his way. He twirled his staff and struck the ground, making a metallic sound. Then, a long flame appeared in front of Archer.
This triggered a violent explosion, and the archer's figure gradually became blurred and eventually disappeared.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Nianzhuo, Ritsuka, and Mary finally arrived at the heart of the cave, where the Dark Queen had been waiting for a long time. However, the scenery inside the cave was even more breathtaking than anything else.
"What...what is this?" Even though Ritsuka was an ordinary person, she was still shocked by the scene before her.
A massive mound of land rose up, its center radiating a constant purple light. Nian Zhuo could feel the immense magical power in the air with just a single breath. This land was very likely the origin of all things.
"This...this isn't a super-grade magic core?! Could this be the Greater Grail?!" As a magician, Mary could sense the strangeness and astonishment of this land. She stared at it in a daze, but time wouldn't give her time to appreciate or learn. From the thick fog not far away, a soft laugh, "Roar—," echoed.
With intense magical power, she displayed her aura without hesitation. Encased in black armor from head to toe, her face was expressionless, but her pale gold eyes shone brightly. Her signature ahoge (cowlick) was gone. This was none other than the fallen King Arthur, the lost hero—Saber Altair.
Nianzhuo, who had analyzed this information in just one glance, was distracted by the black sword in Saber's hand. It was a classic knight's sword, but unfortunately, it lacked that sacred quality. Corrupted by the black mud, this holy sword had transformed from the second chosen sword bestowed upon King Arthur by the Lady of the Lake into a dark, demonic sword imbued with despair and death. "Indeed, no wonder she's said to be an absolutely invincible Servant..." Nianzhuo murmured, slightly lost in thought as he looked at the high concentration of magical mist surrounding Saber.
"What an interesting Servant." Emerging from the mist with an imposing aura, Saber's first notice was of Mash's shield.
He recognized it immediately as his dining table (and got hit).
That was the shield possessed by Galahad, one of his Pure Knights.
“A shield…?” Saber stared at Mash, her tone questioning. “Be prepared, unknown girl.” Saber gripped the hilt of her sword tightly, pointing it at Mash, who stood ready below. “Let me use this sword to find out if your defense is truly indestructible!”
The final battle begins
Hey sis, wanna buy a cheat?
Meanwhile, the deadly battle between Archer and Cú Chulainn continues.
Arriving above Ryudou Temple, Archer continuously projected longswords that transformed into arrows, shooting them down at Cú Chulainn.
The arrows transformed into shooting stars and soaring swallows, carrying waves of magic as they flew down towards Cú Chulainn.
Cú Chulainn gripped his staff with both hands and plunged it into the ground. Instantly, enormous branches sprouted and wriggled from the ground once more, enveloping the figure in the blue robes.
A crystalline streak, like a shooting star, struck the grove of trees, sending massive flames and dust billowing into the air. The flames bloomed in the sky like vibrant red flowers.
Shards of stone flew, repelling the figure in the blue robes. Cú Chulainn, having just caught the archer's arrow, clicked his tongue in annoyance.
The archer leaped onto the roof of Ryudouji Temple, his right hand unleashing an even more violent torrent of magic. A twisted sword appeared in his hand, which he nocked onto a bowstring. The twisted sword suddenly transformed into an arrow.
As he said this, the long arrow on the Archer's Bow shot out.
A massive magical force enveloped the orb, shimmering with blue light, causing the air to distort. The ground was etched with trenches as the orb passed, a seemingly unstoppable attack. Yet, Cu Chulainn smiled instead.
"Watch closely! This is a powerful move!" Releasing his grip on the staff with his left hand and slamming it to the ground, the man, brimming with fighting spirit, unleashed his magical power. A massive magic circle began to emanate from his hand and spread outwards.
The blue streak of light slowed down continuously before him, until it finally dissolved into starlight and vanished completely.
Seeing the situation was dire, Archer tried to leap up, but in less than a second, a huge blue rune appeared behind him, slamming him into the ground and creating a large crater. Even the bow in his hand was forced to dissipate.
"Have you fixed the runes in mid-air...?" His hawk-like eyes instantly analyzed the magic's principles. Feeling immense pressure from above, he stared directly at the man opposite him, unable to understand why a Caster would allow him to approach.
“Yes, my master knows a spell that can summon the gates of the underworld. This is an application of that spell, basically copied from him.” Cú Chulainn gave an approving look, but when he mentioned his own spell, he turned his head slightly away, as if recalling something unpleasant.
(Author's note: Cu Chulainn's technique is a rip-off of Scáthach's. He can modify the "Gate" that his master uses as a Noble Phantasm into a defensive formation to do this. It's a closely guarded secret. Because if you use it, Scáthach will see it and yell, "You're copying me!" and then stab you with her spear.)
“This constant ranged attacks is never going to end,” Cu Chulainn said, twirling his staff like a gun as he assumed a melee stance, preparing to engage the Archer in close combat as a Caster.
"From now on, let's stick to the old rules and have a real fight," Cú Chulainn invited the Archer opposite him. He abandoned his magic and chose to fight the Servant in close combat to determine the victor.
