Author's Note on the First Volume's Release

Before writing this book, I actually conceived many story outlines in different styles.

Ultimately, it was because of my love for Skadi during Arknights' second anniversary celebration, plus the fact that I've been playing Arknights for two years, that I wanted to write a fanfiction to complete the story.

Dream.

At first, I wanted to write purely about Ark, but then I realized that many plot points in the Ark world haven't been fully developed yet. I could write about it, but I might not be able to write it well.

This led to the rejection of several settings, and this one was ultimately chosen, which is similar to the type of player who has returned from infinity.

The chosen protagonist is also in an IF scenario, where the world is destroyed and all the people and things she cherishes become Skadi of the past.

I want to give Titi a good home, at least an opportunity to change her future.

I'm not sure if this concept and casting will suit everyone's taste, but I think those who are still watching it now are probably people who like it.

The stories of Ark and other mission worlds afterward will be very different, and I will do my best to write them well.

I know my writing might be a bit serious and dramatic, but there's nothing I can do about it. I'm not very good at comedy, and I'm not good at writing satirical pieces either.

Before writing this book, I really didn't expect that writing fan fiction would be so much harder than writing original works.

Even though I've written fanfiction before, those fanfictions were basically just using a world-building framework to break down and tell my own story.

This book had to adhere to the original work's structure from the start, which caused me a lot of misunderstandings. I'm very grateful for everyone's help in the comments and posts.

As for the plot and setting structure, following the original work is fine and quite easy.

But once it's broken, you have to rebuild a new, plausible storyline on top of the broken original plot, giving all the original characters a new story.

Arrange a reasonable development logic.

This workload is not only more difficult than creating original content, but it also requires adhering to the original design to avoid major bugs.

So I didn't write this book very quickly. At first, I wanted to update three times a day, but later I found that I could only update two times a day.

Fortunately, I'm starting to get used to it now, and I'll try my best to update it after it's published.

Before writing this book, I had written quite a few other books, but none of them became hits.

She finally had two books, one nearly reaching ten million words and the other nearly four million words, but both were taken down. (Both are yuri.)

None of my other new books have been successful. I'm starting to doubt whether I'm suited to writing books anymore, or if I should just go work in a factory.

But I still want to try again, to put in more effort.

Then, the previous book hit a wall and collapsed.

Even so, I persisted and wrote more than two million words before entering the final stage. I don't know why I persisted so much.

After all, many authors give up as soon as they see the results, so why should I persist?

Is it passion? Or perhaps it's something else entirely.

I'm not really sure how this one will do, because it hasn't even reached 4,000 favorites yet—and that's after it's been featured twice, and it's a popular game.

When I was writing around chapter 30, I had this thought: maybe I should just delete it and stop writing, since I wouldn't achieve anything significant.
