Chapter 53: Leave these "dirty" things to me.

Six dismembered corpses were laid out in a corner of the kitchen, their skin peeled off.

The head, made entirely of flesh and blood, had an "X" etched on it.

Skadi covered Theresa's eyes with her hands, not wanting her to see this scene.

But in that one glance, I still saw what I was supposed to see.

"...Who did it?"

Theresa wanted to pull Skadi's hand away and go see for herself.

But Skadi was too strong; even if she wanted to pull away, Skadi wouldn't let her.

Theresa was a little angry, but she still wanted to know who the murderer was.

"I don't know, but I guess it's the group that drugged His Highness."

Skadi sighed softly. She really shouldn't have brought Theresa along.

“I’m not a child anymore, Skadi. I can handle this kind of situation.”

Having witnessed scenes a thousand times more brutal than this, Skadi remained unmoved.

But she didn't think Theresa would ever see such a scene.

She also knew that Theresa, as the leader of the Tower of Babel, was definitely not as harmless as she appeared on the surface.

She has everything one would expect, whether it's experience, methods, or knowledge.

But that was before I arrived. After I arrived, I left these "dirty" things to her.

Theresa only needs to maintain that noble and gentle demeanor in front of everyone.

“I know, Your Highness, but leave these dirty matters to me.”

"You shouldn't be facing these things."

Skadi spoke seriously, and she knew Theresa had her own ideas, but at this moment, she needed to be firm.

"Skadi." Theresa's tone was muffled, clearly indicating that she was unhappy.

"As I said, Your Highness, leave these matters to me."

Holding her tightly in his arms to prevent her from acting recklessly, Skadi reached out and drew water from the faucet that wasn't turned off properly.

Create an ice chamber in front of those dismembered and skinned corpses.

"Your Highness, you stay outside. I'll go inside and deal with these corpses."

After doing all this, Skadi released Theresa's arms, leaving her outside the ice room, and went inside herself.

The ice room had no door or windows; it was as if her body had melted into it.

Theresa stood there, reaching out her hand, but could only touch the cold ice wall; she could see nothing at all.

About twenty minutes later, Skadi emerged from the ice wall without a drop of blood on her.

"I have already notified the medical staff to handle this. Once they arrive, the ice room will be dissolved simultaneously."

"It won't affect anything here; they'll want their own information."

"Let's go back first."

Skadi said this as she walked out of the kitchen.

However, while she was walking, Theresa stood still, not moving an inch.

"What's wrong?" Skadi asked, turning to look at Theresa with a puzzled expression.

"Don't you think I need your protection? Then hold my hand."

Her tone was sullen; the members of her organization had died tragically, but she was powerless to do anything about it, which was terrible.

“Hmm.” Skadi paused for a moment, then reached out and took Theresa’s hand.

As she reached the door, she encountered Kal'tsit, who had come after receiving her message.

"Dr. Kal'tsit, prepare yourself mentally, that scene isn't going to be good."

"I've done a thorough check. I'll combine the information I have with yours later to see if they match."

Other members of the medical team were also present, and given the formality of the occasion, Skadi addressed Kal'tsit as "Doctor."

However, while addressing her by that name, she was holding Theresa's hand.

Even though I told her not to add the title "doctor," she still insisted on doing so.

And it was while holding hands with His Highness that he used a respectful form of address towards himself...

She shouldn't have been allowed to spend so much time alone with His Highness; her willpower was too weak, and she simply couldn't resist Theresa's charm.

Skadi didn't mean it that way, but Kal'tsit thought Skadi did it on purpose.

She deliberately kept her distance from Theresa to avoid causing His Highness to misunderstand.

If Skadi knew what she was thinking, she would probably cry foul.

She never intended that. Holding Theresa's hand was Theresa's request, and addressing Dr. Kalshiga was only due to the occasion and...

The timing had to be formal, not because I wanted to keep my distance from her.

"Hmm." Although many thoughts were surfacing in her mind, Kal'tsit didn't say much because this matter was very important.

After nodding, he went into the kitchen.

The ice chamber crumbled into tiny fragments the moment she approached.

The scene remained unchanged, and Skadi's inspection did not disturb the crime scene.

However, this scene still made everyone feel somewhat uncomfortable.

Several of the new doctors even covered their mouths and vomited, and the other doctors also looked terrible.

Even Kal'tsit frowned, her face turning ashen.

"Dismembering and skinning them, then branding them with provocations..."

"Don't let me catch this guy."

She was filled with rage; the murderer was not only provoking the Tower of Babel, but also provoking them, the doctors.

Silently, Skadi led Theresa back to her room, closed the door, and removed her mask and hood.

"Your Highness, please ask whatever you wish to know."

Theresa sat opposite her, still silent.

This made Skadi a little embarrassed, so she could only try to break the atmosphere by speaking up.

"Who did those things?"

She doesn't know who the dead person is; that's probably something they'll have to wait for Kal'tsit and the others to do with DNA testing.

All she wants to know now is who the murderer is.

"I don't know. The only thing I'm sure of is that the killer knows Originium Arts and assassination techniques."

"The assassination techniques were very sophisticated, somewhat like those guys in Kazimierz."

"More importantly, this guy is a psychopathic killer, and this isn't the first time he's done these things."

"And he specifically targets men, as if he's showing off something."

"That's all the information I've found on these bodies."

"For more details, we need to look at the tests and such."

Skadi told her everything she knew, and then looked at Theresa, wondering if she had anything else to say.

Is the murderer still in the Tower of Babel?

After a moment of silence, Theresa suddenly tightened her grip on her cup.

If the murderer is still here, she wants to catch him right now.

“I have already used tracking magic, but the maximum range of tracking magic is one hundred kilometers.”

"But the other party has already gone beyond this range..."

"Therefore, I conclude that the murderer must have made the move at six o'clock, when all the food was ready."

"The dismemberment, skinning, and neatly arranging of these people was done three hours ago."

"Around eight o'clock, one person disposed of six bodies."

"He then left the Tower of Babel before the assassination attempt, erasing his presence along the way."

"Hey... I should have gone to find this information when I got back. Maybe then I could have caught him."

Skadi said, sounding somewhat annoyed.

Chapter 54: What are you doing with your backs to me?

While she was feeling frustrated, Theresa seemed to have figured something out.

She put down her cup, walked over, and pulled Skadi's head into her arms, gently stroking her hair.

"I'm sorry, Skadi, I was a little angry just now."

"You don't need to be upset about this; it's not your fault."

She could tell that Skadi felt guilty.

But this matter had little to do with her, and no one would have imagined that the murderer would infiltrate this place.

The strangest thing is that the killer's goal wasn't to kill Theresa, but to kill the chefs.

This was strange no matter how you looked at it, and neither she nor Skadi could figure it out.
