"Of course! I really like Coke!" Luo Xue'er smiled and walked towards the inner shelves. She searched through the dark store, but the empty shelves disappointed her.
"Cola...Cola..." Luo Xue'er muttered to herself, carefully searching her surroundings.
Luo Xue'er slowly walked towards the cashier inside and found a wine bottle.
"Oh, this is not bad either. I wonder if the arms dealer will mind this." Luo Xue'er walked over by shining the combat flashlight on the gun.
"What is this? How did the promised wine turn into this?" Luo Xue'er walked closer and saw that it was a simple, homemade Molotov cocktail. She picked it up and sniffed it, then hung it on her waist.
"I can play with fire now!" Just as Luo Xue'er was feeling a little excited, she noticed that there was actually a box of Coke on the floor of the last shelf in front of her, and Luo Xue'er was overjoyed.
"Haha! I'm a bad woman!" Luo Xue'er happily grabbed her cola and walked back, shouting, "I got my cola!"
Hearing that Rosie had found the cola, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. "Hurry! Grab the cola and get out of here. There aren't many infected people left now; this is a good opportunity," Kenneth shouted.

"Go out and take them out in melee. Cover Rosie!" Nick said, grabbing his fire axe and charging out.
Everyone left the store. Just then, another wave of infected attacked, relentlessly chasing the four of them, giving them no chance to catch their breath.
"Quick, get to a safe place!" Kenneth shouted, and they all ran quickly toward the weapons shop, with Ellis and Nick covering Rosie from behind.
The gunshots made the square noisy, which led to an increase in the number of infected people. It seems that shooting was not a good solution.
"Wow..." Suddenly! Something resembling a rope attacked Alice from the corner of a building. This rope-like object was dozens of meters long and slippery. What was it?
"I'm trapped by something! Help me!" Alice was entangled by this rope-like thing, which tightly bound her body and kept tightening, pulling her backward into the horde of corpses.
"Damn! It's a special infected person!" Nick saw Ellis being entangled by something strange and immediately ran back to save him.
Ellis was constantly being pulled backward by that rope-like thing amidst the horde of zombies, the infected chasing her like fish, treating her as prey. Ellis let out agonizing screams, extremely distressing to hear.
Nick bravely charged into the horde of zombies and unleashed another killing spree with his fire axe.
At this moment, Luo Xue'er and the others had arrived at the pavilion and were preparing to throw the cola to the arms dealer, hoping that the arms dealer could quickly clear a path for them to leave this godforsaken place.
Nick desperately used his fire axe to hack away at the infected who were harming Ellis. After a fierce battle, dozens of infected around him were wiped out, leaving only a pile of dead flesh.
"Are you alright?" Nick walked over and helped Ellis, who was lying on the ground, to a safe place.
Ellis looked at Nick and felt a little embarrassed without realizing it. However, Ellis was not seriously injured, but she was greatly frightened.
"We went through a lot of trouble to get this, so you have to take good care of it. We've already given you some cola, so please make way for us!" Luo Xue'er carefully put the cola into the inlet and said in a friendly tone.
It seems the arms dealer has already received this gift that came at the risk of his life.
"Thank you for the cola, now I'll clear the way for you." From the attic, Luo Xue'er could clearly hear the clanging of weapons being loaded.
With a loud "boom," the concrete wall blocking the shopping center was instantly blown into the air by several small missiles, sending up plumes of smoke and dust.
"Roar...roar..." With the sound of the concrete wall exploding, the huge noise once again alarmed more infected people. This time, no one dared to stop and ran to the shopping center before they even had time to say goodbye to the arms dealer.
---------------------Divider Line---------------------------
"Hurry! Keep up! We can't handle this horde of zombies. If we don't hurry, we're done for. Ellis, are you alright?" Kenneth shouted. He then rushed forward to eliminate the infected blocking his path, seizing the opportunity while there were still relatively few of them.
"I'm fine. Let's see who gets to the shopping mall first. I'm off now." With that, Alice quickened her pace and ran towards the shopping mall.
"Look, it's a security door!" Luo Xue'er exclaimed excitedly. Everyone saw a security door leading into the shopping center, which gave them hope.
The rapid running made everyone forget everything around them. This might be due to the body releasing adrenaline, but for some, it's a bit of a stretch.
"Uh... Hunter!" Nick's leg injury had caused him to fall behind the others. His leg injury made even running a single step difficult, but he still tried his best to catch up. No one noticed Nick's injury; they just kept running towards the safe house. Because Nick had said he was fine.
"Quick...quick...close the door!" Kenneth and the others had already arrived at the safe house and closed the door.
"Nick...Nick...He's not here, oh no!" Rosie discovered that Nick was still outside, and covered her mouth with her hands, looking at Nick in the distance with panic.
"We must save him, we must save him..." Ellis kept repeating this phrase, his expressionless face trembling, yet his resolve was unwavering.
"I have to save him!" Ellis said this with absolute certainty, grabbing the iron crowbar in her hand and rushing out. Although she didn't know why, Ellis could no longer control her impulse.
"No!...Come back! You'll be eaten by zombies! Come back now!" Kenneth shouted, trying to stop Alice's foolish behavior as she saw her run out. But Alice ignored him.
Hundreds of infected were already close at hand, one by one leaping over the fence. They were closing in on the two people outside; now, even a god couldn't escape.
"Bang...bang...bang..." The coach and Luo Xue'er walked out of the safety door, holding guns to provide cover for the two people in the square.
Enraged, Ellis grabbed a crowbar and killed the infected blocking her way, charging towards where Nick was.
"No! There are more and more infected people." Luo Xue'er watched as more and more infected people climbed over the fence and ran towards where the two of them were, her eyes filled with despair.
In an instant, the infected surrounded the two people in the square. Nick also completely gave up hope of survival. He lay flat on the ground, turned his head to look at Ellis, who was surrounded by infected not far away. Ellis was still struggling to rush over with an iron crowbar in hand.
Nick looked at him and smiled bitterly, because he didn't know why he was worth doing that for him, even though he had disliked him so much during their first conversation.
Nick didn't want to look at Ellis, who was about to collapse. He looked up at the blue sky, where the sun's holy light shone on the other side of the building, like a passage to heaven. A tear rolled down his cheek.
The infected man continued to attack Nick's body with his feet. Nick could hardly feel any pain anymore, but a sensation in his body made him tremble.
"What a spoilsport! I'm about to die, and they keep yelling?" Nick joked dejectedly as he looked at the infected surrounding him. But looking at their ugly faces and their hideous features made Nick furious.
"Hey! I think you might be saved." At that moment, Nick heard Ellis's deep voice. Instantly, the infected people surrounding him were cleaved in two by Ellis's iron crowbar, their heads falling to the ground... Ellis appeared before him, reaching out his bloody hand to help Nick stand up.
Nick hesitated as he looked at Ellis, who was covered in blood. He couldn't think straight and slowly reached out a trembling hand to approach Ellis.
"Beep...beep...beep..." A crisp sound came from several places not far away. At this moment, the infected stopped attacking them and were attracted by the beautiful sound.
At that moment, a missile launched from the arms dealer's attic blew away the horde of zombies attracted by the sound, instantly clearing away the infected. However, the loud noise also woke up a large number of infected again.
"There's no time to lose! Let's go!" Nick came over, helped her up, and they quickly walked towards the emergency exit...
"Beep...beep...beep..." The arms dealer continued dropping improvised explosive devices to cover the group, a blessing brought only by a carton of cola, until the four entered the shopping mall. Tang Tian emerged from the shadows and headed towards them. His task now was to rescue these people so they could return to the main plane. (To be continued...)

Chapter 73 Rescue (Part 2)
Meanwhile, Bill and his group of four successfully entered the shopping mall.
"Quick! Quick! Quick... This is the last generator. Everyone, go to the bridge and wait." Bill shouted, standing guard beside the machine, waiting for his companions to be ready.
At this moment, the two tanks roared, and Francis watched as he threw Molotov cocktails at them, luring the tanks away from Bill and the bridge.
The two tanks, engulfed in flames, cried out in agony as they relentlessly pursued Francis.
At this moment, Francis cleverly played a game of circling around them. This was the café building, and the tanks only chased after Francis.
“Francis! Are you ready?” Bill called out from the generator not far away.
"Great, they're about to be burned to death!" Francis shouted. "Damn! Looks like you're pretty durable!" Francis muttered as he loaded his bullets. It seemed they had to get rid of these two tanks as soon as possible.
"Bang!..." Francis fired his carbine at the tank from a safe distance, hastening its demise.
Bullets struck the two tanks one after another, turning their charred surfaces into bloody messes. They collapsed, barely clinging to life, in no time.
"Okay! Start the generator!" Francis gestured to Bill, who was not far away.
----------------Divider----------------------------------------
Bill turned on the generator, and the power supply was back on. At this moment, everyone quickly ran towards the bridge.
Francis climbed to the top of the bridge and pressed the button to raise and lower the bridge.
At this moment, another tank appeared in the distance, and countless ordinary infected people rushed in one after another.
"Squeak..." The bridge was slowly rising, and everyone felt a long-lost sense of security. But the accident still happened.
"Damn it! The bridge is stuck. The power generator must have tripped. Someone has to go down and restart it!" Francis shouted.
The four of them were now in a dilemma, unsure of what to do.
"What should we do then?" Louis asked, shooting at the infected trying to climb the bridge with his shotgun, beads of cold sweat forming on his dark forehead.
Just then, the familiar roar echoed in the distance again. Zoe covered her mouth with both hands, leaning against the distance in terror. "No! No! No! Three more tanks are coming! We're doomed!"
Tanks appeared in the distance; it seemed God wasn't joking—three tanks were closing in. They were incredibly strong; their arms could easily flip a car.
"Damn it! Looks like we have no choice but to run away," Francis said angrily.
"What to do, what to do! Think of something quickly! Going down to start the generator will definitely be suicide." Louis was extremely anxious. The shotgun in his hand was shaking violently.
"Would turning on that generator make the lifting bridge work?" Bill said casually from the side.
“Yes…” Louis said, trembling. He looked very unwell, perhaps from being frightened by the flying rocks from the tanks on the train.
“Bill? You wouldn’t be…” Louis suddenly realized that Bill was trying to start the generator.
"Ha! Boy, this is just a tank. Compared to the army's ironclad tanks, they are far too weak. I'll be fine. Don't bully Zoe anymore." Bill's calm tone didn't sound like he was mocking the monsters, but rather like he was comforting them.
“No! You don’t have to do that! We can look for other opportunities.” Louis said to Bill incredulously, because even so, they could escape to another place and look for opportunities.
“Looks like I’m going to waste an adrenaline shot.” Bill ignored Louis. Seemingly determined, he took an adrenaline shot from his pocket, injected it into his arm, and jumped off the bridge.
"No!" Zoe cried out in astonishment as she saw Bill jump from the start button on the bridge. Her body went numb and tears welled in her eyes. It felt like her own father had fought off the infected to protect everyone.
"What is he doing? Is he supporting a hero?" Francis, who was standing next to Zoe, said angrily.
"Stop dawdling up there! Cover him! Hurry!" Louis shouted from the lower level of the bridge, his voice trembling with emotion.
Bill made his decision. The adrenaline made Bill feel the moving passion of the apocalypse. He could barely hear anything, but he could still hear beautiful songs coming from the record player in the coffee shop next door.
----------------------Divider----------------------------------
Bill could hear the peaceful singing clearly, and no other sound could drown it out. This was the most beautiful moment of his life, and he was now immersed in silence.
In his own fantasy, he was suddenly standing next to the generator. His trembling hand touched the power generation device, and in an instant, the whole world returned to him.
The roar of tanks and the sound of gunfire shattered the peaceful tranquility.
"Ha!" Bill laughed generously and successfully started the generator.
At that moment, Bill could sense that the danger behind him was only a step away, and he silently uttered a sentence.
Goodbye, my home.
"Boom!" The tank was bounced back by the huge rock, and the expected blood-stained ground didn't happen. The tank was destroyed first, and Tang Tian finally saved Bill.
Of course, after the four successfully entered the shopping mall, unlike in the original timeline where a respected veteran sacrificed himself heroically, he survived.
……
"Bill!!!" Zoe cried out in anguish as she ascended the bridge, thinking Bill was dead. Throughout the journey, Bill had been like a father to her, always understanding her inner turmoil. No one had ever truly understood her.
In her agony, Zoe unconsciously tried to go down and save Bill, but Francis held her back tightly.
