In the Great Shang Dynasty, there was a general named Li Jing at Chen Tang Pass. He was taken in as a disciple by Ran Deng, the vice-leader of the Chan Sect at Yu Xu Palace. He possessed the cultivation of a late-stage Earth Immortal and was later sent down the mountain by Ran Deng to assist King Zhou. He married a woman named Yin, and they had two sons: the eldest, Jinzha, became a disciple of Manjushri, the Heavenly Venerable of the Chan Sect; the second, Muzha, became a disciple of Samantabhadra. Later, Yin became pregnant again, but she did not give birth for three years and six months. Li Jing was very worried, fearing that it might be a demon.

On this day, Madam Yin dreamed that a cute and adorable little girl walked towards her. Just as she was happily asking her about it, she saw the little girl disappear into her arms. When Madam Yin woke up, she felt pain in her abdomen and soon gave birth to a fleshy ball.

Upon hearing this, Li Jing hurried to the side room, sword in hand. He saw a red aura emanating from the room, filling it with a strange fragrance. There was a fleshy ball, perfectly round and spinning like a wheel.

Li Jing was shocked, thinking it was a monster. He slashed at the fleshy ball with his sword, and a sharp sound rang out. The fleshy ball was split open, and a child jumped out, surrounded by red light. His face was as white as powder, and he wore a red bib. His golden light was dazzling. It was the Spirit Pearl that Nuwa had thrown down to the mortal world.

Lingzhuzi emerged from the flesh ball and quickly grew to the size of its previous life. However, Lingzhuzi's face was extremely ugly. It pointed at Li Jing's nose and scolded, "You are so rude. Why did you cut open the flesh ball? Don't you know that I am absorbing magic power?"

It turns out that when a deity is reincarnated, their cultivation and memories cannot be reborn; they can only be retrieved later through cultivation or by a great opportunity. However, Nuwa could not bear to see Lingzhuzi suffer like this, so she only sealed Lingzhuzi's memories, but attached her magic power to the placenta of Lingzhuzi's reincarnation, so that Lingzhuzi could absorb it after birth.

Nuwa had foreseen Li Jing's actions, but everything is preordained and cannot be changed. Lingzhuzi was only at the early stage of the Golden Immortal realm, so it's no wonder he pointed at Li Jing's nose and cursed him.

Li Jing was furious. He thought to himself, "Whether you are a monster or not, I don't know yet, but you have been cursing your father since birth. You will definitely be a troublemaker in the future. I must discipline you properly now to prevent you from bringing disaster to my family." So he said, "You beast, you do not pay respects to your father. Today you must be taught a lesson." After saying that, he ordered his men to make Lingzhu kneel down so that he could carry out the family discipline!

How could Lingzhuzi accept this? He kicked out with both feet, sending the two guards flying backward, crashing through a wall and dying instantly.

Lingzhuzi was just born and couldn't control his strength. He was terrified to see that he had killed someone.

Li Jing's face turned ashen, and he cursed, "You fiend, prepare to die!" He then thrust his sword at Lingzhuzi.

Lingzhuzi was still in a daze and had no idea how to dodge. She was about to be stabbed and die. Poor Yin Shi had just given birth to Lingzhuzi and was weak and exhausted. She was now suffering from this misfortune and could not speak. Tears streamed down her face as she watched helplessly as her father and daughter killed each other.

Just then, a white lotus flower flew in from afar and caught Li Jing's sword. Li Jing was unable to stab it and knew that he had met a master. He simply cupped his hands and said, "Who is this master? Li Jing is here to wait for you. Please grant me an audience!"

A white-robed Taoist priest floated in, exuding an air of otherworldly elegance. Upon seeing the priest, Li Jing immediately bowed and said, "Li Jing of Chentang Pass greets Martial Uncle. May Martial Uncle be well!" This man was none other than Taiyi Tianzun, one of the twelve Golden Immortals under the Chan Sect of the Jade Purity Saint Primordial Heavenly Venerable, who had come to take Lingzhuzi as his disciple on Primordial's orders.

Taiyi Tianzun said, "This child has a karmic connection with my Chan Sect, and I have come here today to take him as my disciple!"

Li Jing was stunned upon hearing this, unable to believe that his rebellious son would be valued by his sect. Although he was dissatisfied, he had no choice but to agree.

After inquiring about Lingzhu's situation from Li Jing, Taiyi Tianzun said, "Let's name this child 'Nezha'!"

After saying this, Taiyi Tianzun took out a long red ribbon, a pair of wheels, and a spear and handed them to Nezha, saying, "This ribbon is called the 'Hun Tian Ribbon,' which can bind all things. This wheel is called the 'Wind and Fire Wheels,' which can go up and down the sky at great speed. This spear is called the 'Fire-Tipped Spear,' which can emit Samadhi True Fire. These three treasures are all spiritual treasures. Consider them my gift to you!"

Nezha's memories of his past life had not yet returned, and seeing that Taiyi Tianzun had a kind face and extraordinary abilities, he performed the three kneelings and nine kowtows ceremony and became Taiyi Tianzun's disciple.

After the matter was settled, Taiyi Tianzun had to return to Yuxu Palace to report back, and only instructed Nezha to stay at home well!

After seeing Taiyi Tianzun off, Li Jing, out of respect for his sect, became more patient and tolerant with Nezha. Seeing that Li Jing's attitude had improved, Nezha stopped being angry with him and began to familiarize himself with his future living environment.

Three years passed in the blink of an eye. After Nezha was taken as a disciple by Taiyi Tianzun, he spent his days hunting hawks and dogs in Chentang Pass, enjoying himself immensely. As a result, the people of Chentang Pass would flee at the mere mention of Nezha's name, calling him the "mischievous little devil."

Li Jing had a grudge against Nezha since Nezha's birth, and the two fathers had always disliked each other. However, Li Jing's cultivation was now inferior to Nezha's, and he didn't have as many powerful treasures as Nezha, nor did he possess the same offensive, defensive, and agile abilities. Li Jing could only secretly lament his situation, unable to discipline Nezha. So he turned a blind eye and let Nezha run wild. Fortunately, Nezha was only playful and hadn't done anything particularly evil, but it had caused Li Jing and Lady Yin to frequently have to apologize to others, much to their distress.

One day, Nezha got tired of playing inside Chen Tang Pass and secretly ran outside to play. When he arrived at the Nine Bends River, he saw the clear water rolling and the green water flowing, so he was very happy and ran into the river to take a bath.

The Nine Bends River is located at the mouth of the East Sea, and the Hun Tian Ling (a magical ribbon) is an innate spiritual treasure. When Nezha placed the Hun Tian Ling in the water, it turned the East Sea water red. As it swayed, the river rippled, and the East Sea water was stirred up.

The Dragon King of the East Sea, Ao Guang, was puzzled and ordered his patrolling yaksha to investigate. When they arrived at the surface of the sea, they saw Nezha bathing there and hurriedly shouted, "What is that little girl doing? Get ashore quickly!"

When Nezha heard someone calling her, she turned around and saw a yaksha with a blue face and red hair, which was quite terrifying. Nezha was enjoying her wash at the moment, so she naturally did not want to leave so soon. She just said casually, "That monster, stop shouting. I will leave when I'm done washing."

The yaksha was furious and said, "I am a sea patrol yaksha personally bestowed by the Heavenly Emperor. How dare you call me a monster! Today I will teach you a lesson." After saying that, he swung his axe and chopped at Nezha.

When has Nezha ever been afraid of fighting? Seeing Yaksha approach, he just laughed loudly, "You're courting death, so don't blame me!" After saying that, he took off his Qiankun Ring and smashed it at Yaksha.

The Yaksha was only at the mid-stage of the Earth Immortal realm, so how could he possibly withstand it? He was on the verge of death when suddenly a white light flew over and caught the Qiankun Ring, saving the Yaksha's life.

The Yaksha, having escaped a great calamity, was still in shock and hurriedly fled back to the Dragon Palace.

Seeing that his attack had failed, Nezha, who was used to being arrogant in Chentang Pass, shouted, "Who has ruined my plans? Come out and show yourself!"

As soon as he finished speaking, a young man in white robes flew down from the sky, sitting atop auspicious five-colored clouds. Upon seeing Nezha, a smile flashed in his eyes, and he said, "I ruined your plans. What do you want?"

The person who came was Ling Chi. Previously, Nuwa had sent Ling Zhuzi to the mortal world to be reincarnated. Ling Chi had not seen Ling Zhuzi for three years and missed her a little. These past few days, having nothing to do, he came to Chen Tang Pass to see her. However, he did not expect that as soon as he arrived at Chen Tang Pass, he saw Ling Zhuzi, who had been reincarnated as Nezha, committing a crime. So he intervened and stopped her.

On the other side, when Nezha saw the person, a hint of doubt flashed in his eyes. He felt that this person was very familiar, but he couldn't remember where he had seen him before.

Putting all that aside, seeing that this person could easily block the attack of the Universe Ring, Nezha figured that he must be quite skilled, so he didn't dare to act rashly. He simply said, "What business is it of yours if I'm taking a bath and fighting here? Why are you trying to interfere?"

Ling Chi frowned upon hearing Nezha's words, thinking to himself: This girl, at most she was just mischievous before, how did she become so willful, unruly and lawless after her reincarnation? Since I have met her today, I must teach her a lesson so that she knows there are heavens beyond heavens and people beyond people, and that she will be more restrained in her conduct in the future, lest she truly become a spoiled brat.

Ling Chi narrowed his eyes and said, "I've already gotten involved, what are you going to do about it?"

Nezha rolled his eyes. These were words he used to say all the time back in Chentang Pass. Thinking that his "patent" had been stolen, Nezha angrily said, "You shameless person! I'll have to teach you a lesson!" With that, he raised the Universe Ring, as if to smash it.

With Ling Chi's cultivation level, even if Nezha were ten times stronger, it would be in vain. Naturally, he was not afraid at all and said nonchalantly, "With your level, you can only bully those unarmed civilians in Chentang Pass!" After saying that, Ling Chi shook his head as if to be profound.

Nezha, being a child, couldn't bear being so slighted. He immediately roared in anger and hurled the Universe Ring at Ling Chi.

Ling Chi wore a mocking expression and didn't use any magical artifacts for defense, relying solely on his physical strength to take the blow head-on.

With Ling Chi's current cultivation at the peak of the Saint realm, and his supreme path of 'proving the Dao through strength,' even top-grade innate spiritual treasures cannot harm his physical strength. Moreover, the Qiankun Ring is at most a high-grade innate spiritual treasure, so it cannot hurt him in the slightest.

With a loud "bang," the Qiankun Ring struck Ling Chi's head. Instead of splattering his brains, it struck him as if he had hit a hard rock, sending sparks flying. The immense recoil sent the Qiankun Ring flying backward, heading straight for Nezha.

Nezha was taken aback and immediately used his Hun Tian Ling (a magical ribbon), using all his strength to wrap the Qiankun Quan (another magical ring).

Seeing Nezha's terrified expression, Ling Chi smiled slightly and said, "Little girl, you're too weak. This is less comfortable than being bitten by a mosquito."

Nezha was both ashamed and furious, but dared not speak her anger. She knew she had met her match today, and the best way to deal with such a master was to play the submissive role. As the saying goes, "Where there's life, there's hope." If she couldn't win now, she could go back and cultivate diligently, and take revenge later when her cultivation level had improved.

Seeing Nezha's expression, Ling Chi chuckled inwardly and said, "Little girl, I heard you have some treasures. Why don't you use them all and show me how powerful they are?"

Seeing Ling Chi make another sarcastic remark, Nezha could no longer contain her anger. She shouted, "You're asking for death, so don't blame me for being ruthless. Let me show you the power of my Fire-Tipped Spear!" With that, she took out the Fire-Tipped Spear and thrust it straight at Ling Chi.

Just as the Fire-Tipped Spear was about to pierce Ling Chi's body, Nezha shouted, "Rise!" A white flame shot out from the tip of the Fire-Tipped Spear, enveloping Ling Chi; it was the Samadhi True Fire.

Nezha laughed loudly: "Today I will burn you to ashes, and see if you dare to humiliate me again!"

After burning for a while, Nezha suddenly felt something was wrong and muttered, "That's not right, why isn't there any scream of pain? Could it be that it's finished burning?"

Hearing Nezha's mutterings, Ling Chi, who was being burned, immediately exclaimed, "Ah, this young master hasn't had such a pleasant bath in a long time!" Then, he said to Nezha, "Little girl, I'm almost done washing, it's your turn now!" With that, he flicked his hand, and the Samadhi True Fire flew backwards towards Nezha.

Nezha could play with fire, but that didn't mean he wasn't afraid of it. Nezha knew better than anyone how powerful the Samadhi True Fire was; once it caught fire, it wouldn't go out. He was so frightened that he jumped into the Nine Bends River.

Ling Chi naturally wouldn't harm Nezha; with a wave of his hand, he withdrew the Samadhi True Fire and slowly extinguished it.

Nezha jumped into the river, and Leng Shui realized that the Samadhi True Fire was not afraid of ordinary water. Just as he was wondering what was going on, he saw Ling Chi recall the Samadhi True Fire. He secretly exhaled and then set off on his Wind and Fire Wheels to escape towards Chen Tang Pass.

"Trying to run away?" Suddenly, a flash of white light appeared, already in front of Nezha's escape route.

Nezha couldn't dodge in time and crashed straight into Ling Chi. Ling Chi reached out and lifted her up, laughing, "Weren't you going to burn me to ashes? Why did you run away?"

Nezha, unaware of the formidable power of the person before him, could only cry out, "Senior, spare my life!"

Ling Chi laughed heartily, flicked Nezha's little head with his finger, and said, "It's not right for a child to flaunt his magic weapon everywhere. You should behave yourself in the future and don't let me catch you doing evil again!" After saying that, he threw Nezha towards Chen Tang Pass and said, "If you need anything in the future, you can come to the Chef God Realm to find me!"

Nezha was casually tossed back to his home. Seeing his surroundings, he felt relieved, but upon hearing Ling Chi's telepathic message, a hint of doubt flashed in his eyes: "The Realm of the God of Cookery? Where is that?"

……

Nezha was puzzled when Ao Guang, the Dragon King of the East Sea, heard the Yaksha running back in a panic and hurriedly asked what had happened outside.

Yaksha quickly recounted what had happened at the Nine Bends River.

Ao Guang, having been the Dragon King for a long time, was quite knowledgeable, but Nezha had only been born a few years ago, and Ao Guang did not recognize him. He also heard the Yaksha say that a white light had saved him, and Ao Guang thought to himself that this person was truly powerful, and that he should go out and pay his respects.

Although Ao Guang had been the Dragon King of the East Sea for a long time, his skills were not high. He had always been at the mid-stage of the Golden Immortal realm. Therefore, Ao Guang was always very cautious and adept at navigating social situations. Now that he had encountered a powerful figure, he naturally wanted to make more friends with him in order to secure his rule.

Ao Guang emerged from the water just in time to hear Ling Chi's last words. His heart skipped a beat as he recalled the secret of the Dragon Clan: how the Ancestral Dragon had been beaten black and blue in the Culinary God Realm, thrown out like a dead mudfish.

Chapter Forty-Three: Good Deeds Will Be Rewarded

That was during the era when the Dragon, Phoenix, and Qilin clans vied for supremacy in the primordial world. It was an era filled with the law of the jungle, where there was no morality whatsoever; the strong preyed on the weak. It was in this brutal age of the jungle that the Dragon, Phoenix, and Qilin clans built a relatively orderly society.

After the order was established, the Ancestral Dragon, the leader of the dragon race standing at the pinnacle of the primordial world, wanted to obtain the best of everything. Whether it was strength, power, women, or food, he wanted the best. Therefore, his strength was the top in the primordial world at that time, and his power was the greatest among the three races of the primordial world. He also slew all the races of the primordial world and left behind countless dragon species.

But the only thing it can't get is food, because the best food has always been monopolized by the culinary world.

The Culinary God Realm is a small world that circles the primordial wilderness. The creatures in this realm do not follow the jungle law of the primordial wilderness. Instead, they have established a very healthy and stable order and developed an unparalleled culinary culture.

In this world, the highest status belongs to the chef. Whoever makes the most delicious food has the highest status and is most respected. Under such circumstances, almost no one in the culinary world can't cook. Even the worst cook would be considered an exceptionally skilled chef in the outside world.

A few beings from the realm of culinary gods, yearning for the primordial world, left their realm to travel there. During their travels, they faced life and death several times, but were fortunate enough to survive, all thanks to their culinary skills.

Thanks to their culinary skills, those races that wanted to kill them took them in and made them cook for them every day to satisfy their appetites.

But the prehistoric world was too dangerous, with the risk of extermination at any time. They had experienced no less than ten wars of extermination, and almost all of them were the races that had captured them. Originally, they would not have escaped death either, but they heard that the food they made was incredibly delicious. After the victors tasted it, they were allowed to live.

After going through all this, they ended up in the hands of the Dragon Clan, and the Ancestral Dragon became the beneficiary. However, although these people's culinary skills were unparalleled in the primordial world, they were only ordinary in the world of culinary gods. This secret was revealed by the last person before he passed away.

When Zulong heard that there were countless people in the Culinary God Realm whose culinary skills were even better than theirs, he went to the Culinary God Realm without saying a word.

I originally thought that the Culinary God Realm was just a small world with not many powerful people, and the facts proved that this was true. However, Zu Long never dreamed that the big shots and creatures of the Culinary God Realm were not the same thing.

So when Zu Long ate and dashed and even planned to take over the entire culinary world, Ling Chi made his move.

That brutal beating completely destroyed the Ancestral Dragon, leaving it barely alive. It was thrown out of the Culinary God Realm. If the higher-ups of the Dragon Clan hadn't sensed the dimming light of the Dragon Pearl left behind in the Dragon Palace and rushed over to save it, the Ancestral Dragon would probably have died.

This matter later became a secret of the Dragon Clan, known to no one except a few high-ranking members. Coincidentally, Ao Guang, the Dragon King of the East Sea, was a descendant of the high-ranking members of the Dragon Clan back then. He later became the Dragon King of the East Sea and thus learned of this secret.

Ao Guang was initially skeptical, but today he was astonished to hear that someone from the Culinary God Realm had come. He hesitated whether to pay his respects, but then a flash of white light appeared, and Ling Chi had vanished.

Ao Guang breathed a sigh of relief; at least he didn't have to worry about it anymore.

Upon returning to the Dragon Palace, Ao Guang, remembering how the mysterious figure from the Culinary God Realm had taken good care of Nezha, felt uneasy. He sent people to inquire about Nezha's identity to avoid suffering a great loss due to insufficient information.

After a brief inquiry, news quickly came back.

After reading the information about Nezha, Ao Guang thought to himself: Nezha is a disciple of the Jade Purity Saint Chan Sect. If he had really caused trouble in my East Sea last time, I would have had no choice but to accept it. I wouldn't even have a chance to complain. Fortunately, that person from the Culinary God Realm helped my East Sea a lot. I just don't know what his identity is in the Culinary God Realm.

Although Ling Chi was a senior among the Six Sages and a contemporary of Dao Ancestor Hongjun, the other five Sages, excluding Zhen Yuanzi, had deliberately used magic to diminish Ling Chi's presence in the prehistoric world in order to manage it. Apart from powerful beings with cultivation levels above Quasi-Sage, no one knew Ling Chi's identity. Ao Guang was merely a Golden Immortal and naturally unaware of the existence of a Sage like Ling Chi in the Culinary God Realm. Although he valued the Culinary God Realm highly, he ultimately lacked reverence.

However, since the Dragon Clan retreated to the four seas, their strength has been declining year by year. As the Dragon King of the East Sea, Ao Guang naturally hopes to make many good connections so that if the Dragon Clan encounters trouble in the future, they will have a direction to seek help from.

Considering the extraordinary skills of the mysterious figure in the God of Cookery, Ao Guang intended to befriend him. After spending some time finding out the location of the God of Cookery, he prepared some gifts and headed straight there.

……

After sending Nezha away, Ling Chi observed him for a few days and saw that he had become much more obedient. Only then did he feel at ease and return to the God of Cooking Realm to continue honing his culinary skills and enjoy life.

That day, as Ling Chi was teasing her sweet little maid Wang Shu, she suddenly realized that Ao Guang had arrived.

"Young Master?" Seeing Ling Chi suddenly stop what he was doing, Wang Shu asked, her face flushed, "What's wrong?"

Ling Chi smiled slightly: "It's alright, just someone overestimating themselves. Let's continue."

As soon as he finished speaking, Ling Chi waved his hand, and the Chef God Realm disappeared into the void. Ao Guang, who was heading towards the Chef God Realm, was shocked to see it suddenly vanish.

The ability to instantly obliterate a small world is something only a sage seems to possess in this vast primordial world. Ao Guang, shocked, knew he was utterly unworthy to go to the God of Cookery's Realm. He trembled with fear, gave a respectful bow, and turned to leave.

In the world of culinary masters, there are saints!

too frightening.
