However, this stewed Kunpeng in an iron pot is extremely precious. Although a hundred servings were made, the ingredient (Kunpeng) is extinct. Once these hundred servings are eaten, they will be completely gone. Therefore, Ling Chi will not give it to anyone unless absolutely necessary.

Ling Chi stored the hundred portions of Iron Pot Stewed Kunpeng in the Chef God Space, then went to the farm and ranch for a while before returning to the Chef God Realm.

Not long after they returned, Nuwa ran over: "Brother Ling, can I borrow Di Jun's Hetu Luoshu for my brother?"

"Oh?" Ling Chi did some quick calculations and realized what had happened.

It turns out that after Fuxi established Chendu, he was elected as the ruler of the world. As the number of people under his jurisdiction increased, he heard reports every day of disasters such as wind, rain, thunder, and lightning. Moreover, when disasters struck, the human race could not escape them. Often, nine out of ten houses were empty, and countless people died or were injured.

It turns out that during the Lich War, the Wu Clan, which controlled the primordial elements, and the Yao Clan, which controlled the sun, moon, and stars, were almost completely wiped out. The last remaining bloodlines of both clans retreated to the North Sea and the Ancestral Witch Palace. As for Haotian and the Queen Mother, they reopened the Heavenly Court, but because the Investiture of the Gods had not yet taken place, they did not have enough manpower and naturally could not manage it well. This was something that could not be helped.

Fuxi was deeply troubled, constantly thinking about how to avoid these losses. So every day he observed the sun during the day and the movement of the moon and stars at night, and also examined the course of mountains and rivers, trying to find some patterns in the occurrence of disasters.

But such a massive project could not be completed in a short time. Even the Demon Emperor Jun and Donghuang Taiyi, with their extraordinary talents and the assistance of the innate spiritual treasures Hetu and Luoshu, still struggled for four thousand years before they could fully understand it. Fuxi pondered for more than ten years, but still had no clue.

Seeing her brother looking worried and losing clumps of hair, Nuwa couldn't bear it. Remembering how Ling Chi had captured Kunpeng and obtained the Hetu Luoshu, she came to borrow the treasure.

Ling Chi took out the Hetu and Luoshu diagrams and said, "Should I deliver them myself?"

"No, thank you." Nuwa shook her head. "I'm afraid I won't be able to control my saintly aura and cause unnecessary trouble. I'd rather trouble Brother Ling to help me out and give my brother some pointers while he's at it."

“Instructing your brother is a matter for Lao Tzu himself.” Ling Chi said with a hint of sarcasm, “Taking on disciples but not teaching them, this old man is really good at cheating and shirking responsibility.”

Nuwa snorted lightly: "If I weren't unable to defeat him in the prehistoric world, I would have taught him a lesson long ago."

The Three Pure Ones are all Heavenly Saints. As long as they fight in the prehistoric world under the jurisdiction of the Heavenly Dao, their magical power and supernatural abilities will be inexhaustible. Nuwa, on the other hand, is a Heavenly Saint who proved the Dao through strength. She belongs to the category of Hunyuan Daluo Jinxian. If she were outside the Heavenly Dao, Nuwa could easily defeat Laozi. However, in the prehistoric world, she might be able to defeat Laozi for a while, but as time goes by and her magical power is depleted, she will definitely be worn down by Laozi. That is why Nuwa is unwilling to fall out with Laozi.

"Forget it, the Primordial World still needs these few sages to manage it, and Fuxi also needs the position of Emperor. Let's work hard this time!" Ling Chi chatted with Nuwa for a few more minutes before leaving the Culinary God Realm and heading to the Primordial Continent.

……

At this moment, Fuxi was deep in thought in his own little wooden house when he suddenly found himself in front of a very handsome young man.

Fuxi was greatly alarmed, but realizing that the other party meant no harm, he cautiously asked, "May I ask which extraordinary person you are?"

Ling Chi smiled slightly: "Who I am is not important. Don't you want to solve problems related to climate and good and bad fortune? I have a way to help you."

"Really!?" Fuxi was startled, then delighted: "Please teach me, senior."

"Get up!" Ling Chi casually lifted Fuxi up with an invisible energy, which made Fuxi even more convinced that he was an extraordinary person from the prehistoric world, and his attitude became even more respectful.

Ling Chi took out the Hetu Luoshu from his bosom and handed it to Fuxi, saying, "This is the Hetu Luoshu, a top-grade innate spiritual treasure. It originally belonged to the demon emperor Huang Jun. It contains the trajectory of the stars in the heavens. Take it and study it carefully. It will surely help you achieve your heart's desire!"

The Demon Emperor Jun relied on the supreme innate spiritual treasure, the Hetu Luoshu, to dominate the prehistoric world for countless eons. Fuxi naturally knew this. Seeing that the Hetu Luoshu exuded a faint and ancient aura, he dared not accept it. He only bowed to Ling Chi and said, "This treasure is too heavy. This junior dares not accept it!"

"This is a loan, not a gift." Ling Chi glanced at him, thinking to herself: You wish.

He paused, then said, "As the sovereign of the human race, you must take the well-being of the human race as your responsibility! Take the Hetu and Luoshu, and return them to me later."

"What you say is true, senior. I will obey." Fuxi breathed a sigh of relief and took the Hetu Luoshu. He found that as soon as he got his hands on it, a magical spiritual energy emanated from it.

Fuxi vaguely sensed that the 365 stars of the Hetu and Luoshu were slowly moving within them, and he was immediately captivated, so he sat down to meditate and carefully comprehend the Great Dao contained within. Ling Chi, standing beside him, did not disturb him, but simply stayed by Fuxi's side to protect him.

Fuxi entered a meditative state that lasted for sixty-four days. After sixty-four days, Fuxi awoke, looked up at the sky, and laughed loudly, saying, "My Dao is complete! Humanity will have no more worries!" He then drew a Taiji Bagua diagram on the ground. The eight symbols—Qian, Dui, Li, Zhen, Xun, Kan, Gen, and Kun—were positioned in eight directions around the central Taiji diagram. This Taiji Bagua diagram, seemingly simple, contained the profound Dao, embodying the principle of simplicity in the Dao. It encompassed astronomy, geography, and human affairs, and could be used to calculate all things. Most remarkably, even ordinary people without any magical powers could perform calculations as long as they clearly remembered the meaning represented by this diagram.

With the completion of the Great Dao of Fuxi, his memories of his past life naturally returned. As the events of his past life flashed by, his expression changed several times.

"Have you regained your memories?" Ling Chi's voice rang in my ears.

Fuxi turned his head and immediately bowed deeply, saying, "Fuxi thanks you, senior."

Ling Chi smiled slightly and said, "No need to thank me right away. It's not too late to thank me after you have completed the mission of the human race and achieved the Heavenly Emperor Dao Fruit."

“What you say is true, senior.” Fuxi held the Hetu and Luoshu in both hands: “Returning the things to their rightful owner.”

Ling Chi shook his head: "This was originally Di Jun's companion spirit treasure, but it's of no use to me, so I'm giving it to you. It'll be good for you to have a spirit treasure to protect you in the future, so Nuwa can rest assured."

“This…” Fuxi hesitated.

"Keep it!" Ling Chi said, "After all, the one thing I have in abundance is spiritual treasures."

Thinking of the vast collection of spiritual treasures that Ling Chi had gathered during his travels through the primordial world, Fuxi no longer stood on ceremony: "Thank you, senior."

Ling Chi smiled slightly and said, "Now that you have comprehended the Taiji Bagua, the Great Dao has been achieved. Go and pass on the Taiji Bagua to the people, and then find a wise man to succeed you as the leader, so that you can achieve your goals and escape as soon as possible!"

Fuxi bowed and agreed. After Lingchi left, he went to gather people. On the one hand, he passed on his Taiji Bagua, and on the other hand, he sent people to inquire about wise men in the prehistoric world. In this way, more than ten years passed in the blink of an eye.

With the promotion of Fuxi, Taiji Bagua spread among the people. Because Taiji Bagua was created by Fuxi, people also called it Fuxi Bagua in commemoration of Fuxi.

After the Eight Trigrams of Fuxi were passed down, people of various tribes learned through calculation when disasters would occur and could take precautions to avoid harm. As a result, the human population grew, but gradually, hunting, fishing, and gathering wild fruits could no longer meet the needs of the large population. Many people starved to death.

Fuxi couldn't think of a good way to feed everyone. Until one day, Fuxi heard that in the Wei River basin, thousands of miles away, there was a great sage named Shennong in the Jiang tribe. He had planted five kinds of grains: rice, millet, sorghum, wheat, and beans, thus solving the food problem for millions of people.

Fuxi, whose previous incarnation was a cunning demon, thought to himself that many of the so-called great sages in the primordial world were charlatans, and that it would be best for him to go there himself. So he set off for the Youjiang tribe!

This great sage Shennong was none other than Lieshan, who had received secret help from Zhen Yuanzi. On that day, after Lieshan returned home with the five-colored nine-eared millet, he planted it in a plot of land outside the house. A year later, the entire area around the house was covered with five kinds of crops, which Lieshan named rice, millet, sorghum, wheat, and beans, which are what people in later generations called the five grains.

After the grains ripened, Lieshan rubbed the ears of grain and chewed them, finding them surprisingly sweet and delicious. He was overjoyed and shared this good news with his mother, Ren Si, and the tribespeople. The tribespeople were also amazed to see so much grain, so they each asked Lieshan for some seeds to take home and cultivate. Thus, the grains gradually spread throughout the Youjiang tribe and then slowly to other tribes.

When those tribes heard that the Jiang tribe didn't need to risk hunting or gathering fruits, but could simply cultivate the fields to fill their stomachs, they all submitted to them. Lieshan's fame spread far and wide, and everyone called him Shennong, meaning a magical farmer. His real name, Lieshan, was forgotten.

After the leader of the Youjiang tribe grew old, Shennong was elected as the new tribal leader.

After assuming the position of leader, Shennong accomplished many things. He taught the people to cut down trees, clear weeds, and cultivate the land with tools such as axes and hoes. He also taught them to dig wells and wade through water to irrigate crops, ending the era of relying on the heavens for harvests. At the same time, he invented pottery such as pottery basins and jars, solving the problem of daily necessities. From then on, people's living standards greatly improved.

On this day, Fuxi arrived at the Youjiang tribe. He saw that rice was planted in the low-lying areas with water, and wheat and other crops were planted on the high slopes without water, creating a lush green scene everywhere. Farmers were working in the fields, and children were playing in the rows. The people were living happily. Fuxi asked a few people, and they all said that this was the achievement of their leader, Shennong. Fuxi was very pleased.

Shennong, hearing that the ruler of the world had arrived, hurriedly led his people to greet him. Fuxi, seeing Shennong's robust physique and dark skin, surmised it from long hours of labor in the fields, and thus asked Shennong several questions about crop cultivation, which Shennong answered fluently. Fuxi then asked Shennong several questions about managing the various tribes of the prehistoric world, discovering that Shennong was also capable of innovative thinking and offered many insightful observations. Fuxi exclaimed, "Shennong is truly a great sage!"

Shennong, however, said, "I owe everything I have today to a Taoist priest." He then recounted to Fuxi how, when he was ten years old, a Taoist priest had given him the five-colored, nine-eared grain. Finally, he added, "Before the Taoist priest left, he told me, 'Remember to always keep the people in your heart; their suffering is your suffering, their pain is your pain.' I have taken this as my life's goal and have never forgotten it!"

Upon hearing these words, Fuxi was immediately enlightened and recognized Shennong as the Earth Sovereign, one of the Three Sovereigns of the human race. He exclaimed, "What a wise saying of the common people! Seeing you today, I know that there is a worthy successor!"

Afterwards, Fuxi invited Shennong to his capital so that he could succeed Shennong as the supreme ruler of the human race.

Shennong immediately agreed, because only after becoming the ruler of the human race could he promote the cultivation of the five grains throughout the world. This would be a great deed that would benefit the present and future generations. So Shennong quickly bid farewell to his family and went with Fuxi.

After returning to the capital, Fuxi began preparing for the handover ceremony. After several months of preparation, on the day of the handover, the capital square was packed with people. At noon, the master of ceremonies announced that the auspicious time had arrived. Suddenly, celestial music rang out from the Thirty-Three Heavens, and ten thousand colorful lotus flowers slowly floated down. Everyone felt refreshed and happy. A chariot pulled by nine golden dragons with nine claws descended from the sky and stopped beside Fuxi.

At this moment, a white cloud drifted in from afar, upon which stood a Taoist priest, none other than the Grand Master Xuandu, the chief disciple of the Three Pure Ones Taoism.

Xuandu took out an imperial edict from his robes, glanced at Fuxi, and read: "By the holy decree of the Supreme Lord Laozi, the leader of the Human Sect: Fuxi, the common ruler of the human race, has enlightened all people and made great contributions to the human race for thousands of years. Now that his merits have been fulfilled, he is hereby appointed as the Heavenly Emperor of the human race, and his residence is the Fire Cloud Cave outside the Thirty-Three Heavens!"

Fuxi stepped forward to receive the decree, saying, "Thank you, Sage!" He didn't address him as "teacher," since his teacher had done nothing but throw him a model and was hardly worthy of respect. Xuandu, of course, knew the reason behind this but didn't point it out, only smiling and saying, "Please, Your Majesty, ascend the dragon carriage!"

At this moment, a golden light of merit flew from the sky and landed on Fuxi. This was because Heaven was grateful for Fuxi's great contributions to the human race and was bestowing merit as a reward.

A very small portion of the golden light of merit flew towards the Supreme Lord Laozi in the Eight Views Palace. After all, Laozi was Fuxi's nominal teacher and should have received some merit. However, for some unknown reason, not a single bit of merit flew to Lingchi.

Fuxi didn't have much to say. He gave Shennong a few instructions and then rode the dragon chariot away from the human race to the Fire Cloud Cave beyond the Thirty-Three Heavens. This Fire Cloud Cave was the place where Hongyun had his dojo back then. I wonder what the meaning was of placing the dojo of the Three Sovereigns in the Fire Cloud Cave.

Regardless, Fuxi's attainment of the Heavenly Emperor's status, second only to the Sage, greatly pleased Nuwa, fulfilling a long-held wish. From then on, she could finally be a carefree, food-loving fairy.

Chapter Thirty-Nine: Investiture of the Gods

After Shennong ascended to the throne as the ruler of all under heaven, he always remembered Zhen Yuanzi's teachings on putting the people first and governing the world with virtue and righteousness. He acted with integrity and selflessness, and was loved and respected by all the people. In the areas he governed, the people were diligent without rewards and upright without punishments, and their lives were prosperous and happy.

After humans learned to cultivate grains, much of the surplus food spoiled due to improper storage. Shennong then taught people to hunt young animals and birds in the mountains, feeding them with the surplus food. Once the young animals and birds had grown up, they were slaughtered. This was a win-win situation, utilizing the surplus food while eliminating the dangers of hunting in the mountains. Gradually, people discovered that pigs, cattle, horses, sheep, dogs, and chickens were the easiest to raise, and they collectively called them the "Six Domestic Animals."

The emergence of grains and livestock marked the beginning of a new stage in agricultural development for human civilization. At this time, the fruits of human labor were plentiful. And with surplus resources, a new behavior emerged—commercial activity. The first commercial model was barter, but because there was no unit of measurement, every barter resulted in some losing out and others gaining, leading to chaotic commercial activity and numerous disputes, much to Shennong's dismay.

Even Zhen Yuanzi, who was secretly helping him, was at a loss. Seeing Shennong becoming increasingly overwhelmed, Zhen Yuanzi pondered for a moment and then went to Zixiao Palace outside the Thirty-Three Heavens to seek advice from Hongjun.

But Hongjun had no choice; after all, the old man who traded innate spiritual treasures for food was someone you'd likely bankrupt if you listened to him.

Fortunately, Hongjun, who was very self-aware, thought of Lingchi. With Lingchi's shrewd mind, he would definitely know how to solve business problems. So Hongjun sent Zhenyuanzi to Lingchi.

When Ling Chi met Zhen Yuanzi in the Culinary God Realm, he already knew his purpose. Ling Chi was very familiar with this matter and immediately came up with a business plan suitable for this era. He also took out a copper coin with wings and said, "There are many copper mines in the Primordial Continent. We can mint coins in the shape of this 'Falling Treasure Coin' and then clearly mark the prices of all goods and buy and sell them with copper coins. This way, the problem can be solved."

Zhen Yuanzi was overjoyed upon hearing this and quickly thanked Ling Chi before taking the Luobao Golden Coin to help Shennong solve his business problems.

A few years later, Shennong cast copper coins in the shape of the Luobao coin, clearly marking the prices of goods throughout the world, finally solving the drawbacks of bartering. From then on, humanity entered the era of buying things with money.

After this matter was publicized, merits were bestowed from heaven. The Falling Treasure Coin gained 50% merit, instantly transforming from a top-grade innate spiritual treasure into a top-grade innate merit spiritual treasure. Shennong and Zhen Yuanzi also gained merits, so everyone was happy.

As the human race's lives improved, a new problem arose: people died before their lifespan was over, tormented by illness.

To solve this problem, Shennong, with the help of Zhen Yuanzi, began tasting hundreds of herbs. He did this for decades, nearly dying from poisoning several times, but he always survived by sheer luck. Later, Shennong began compiling the "Shennong's Classic of Materia Medica," which took him more than ten years to complete.

The moment the Shennong Materia Medica was completed, it was as if divine merit descended. Shennong, having absorbed a wave of merit, had a clear mind and seemed to sense that his mission as the sovereign of humankind was about to be completed. Thus, he began to search for his successor.

After some investigation, Shennong chose Xuanyuan as his successor. After the handover ceremony, Shennong finally achieved the title of Earthly Sovereign and regained his memories of his previous life.

Thinking of his past life, Shennong clenched his fists and glanced coldly westward. This glance sent chills down the spines of Jieyin and Zhunti, causing them to furrow their brows.

Damn it, Shennong is actually the reincarnation of Hongyun! I miscalculated.

……

After tens of thousands of years, the human race completed the stage of the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors. After Yu the Great controlled the floods, Yu's son Qi inherited the throne and named his country Xia, thus beginning the era of feudal dynasties where the country was ruled by hereditary monarchy.

Later, the last ruler of the Xia Dynasty, Jie, was tyrannical and was overthrown by Tang of Shang, thus ending the Xia Dynasty and replacing it with the Shang Dynasty. At the same time, in order to gain merit, the disciples of the Jie Sect began to go to the Shang Dynasty to serve as officials and generals, thereby binding the human race's fortune and amplifying the Jie Sect's lack of fortune.

Haotian originally wanted to obtain some fortune from the human race, but faced with the expulsion of the Jie Sect, he could only choose to endure it in frustration. He could endure it once, ten times, or even a hundred times without any problem, but starting from the 101st time, Haotian could not bear it any longer. He immediately ran to Zixiao Palace and cried to Hongjun, saying, "Teacher, this is too difficult for me."

"..."

Having no other choice, Hongjun summoned all six of his disciples to Zixiao Palace, then took out the Investiture of the Gods and the God-Slaying Whip, and began to discuss the matter of the Investiture of the Gods.

After some wrangling, almost all the sages agreed that Tongtian's disciples from the Jie Sect should be included on the list, since the Jie Sect had just too many disciples! They could easily produce more than three hundred righteous gods.

He thought things would be simple, but Tongtian wouldn't have given in at all: "I have many disciples, but none of them are superfluous. You want them on the list? No way!"

Thus, the matter of the Investiture of the Gods reached a stalemate. Faced with this situation, Hongjun directly handed over the Investiture of the Gods and the God-Slaying Whip to Yuanshi Tianzun, asking him to arrange the matters of the Investiture of the Gods, and warned the Six Sages that the Investiture of the Gods was ordained by Heaven, and if the discussions could not reach a result, Heaven would make a decision for them.

The six saints were alarmed and took the matter to heart.

However, after several rounds of discussions, although they all signed some names on the Investiture of the Gods, they were all insignificant nobodys, which displeased Haotian, so he went to complain to Hongjun again.

After all, he was a servant who had served him for billions of years. Hongjun had no choice but to stand up for him. So Hongjun gave a strict order: the 365 righteous gods must have profound virtue or outstanding combat power, otherwise they would not be qualified to be on the list.

As soon as Hongjun spoke, the six sages scratched their heads. Their discussion became increasingly heated, eventually ending in a bitter argument.

No matter how much they argued, the task assigned by Hongjun had to be completed, or no one would have peace. However, after so many rounds of discussion, neither side was willing to back down, which made the 'quiet and inactive' Laozi impatient: "Let's see what fate has in store!"

Let's see what fate has in store: when the great calamity of the Investiture of the Gods arrives, whoever dies will be listed on the list.

This time, no one had any objections.

……

In the realm of culinary gods, sensing the arrival of the Investiture of the Gods calamity, Ling Chi glanced at Ling Zhuzi, who was munching on a chicken leg, and beckoned, "Come here."

Lingzhuzi quickly ran over: "Uncle Ling, did you call me?"

"Hmm." Ling Chi took out a napkin to wipe the grease from Ling Zhuzi's mouth and said, "Ling Zhuzi, do you have a dream?"
