Adam chuckled inwardly, but didn't show it, and continued, "Then why do you say Christine is a mutant?"
Nicky was speechless after hearing this. She couldn't very well just say that she had planned to prank Christine but had been turned against her by Christine. So she turned to her best friend for help. After all, in all the time they had been together, Nicky had never seen anything that Angela could not handle.
Angela rolled her eyes at Nikki's look. Nikki was smart, but she couldn't just not find a suitable excuse right away. Then, glancing at Adam and Nikki beside her, she had an idea. Looking at Nikki, she thought to herself, 'Nikki, this is all I can do for you as a sister. You'd better make the most of what happens next!'
Nicky had been observing Angela, so when she saw the glint in Angela's eyes, she knew that her best friend had found an excuse. She breathed a slight sigh of relief and prepared to hear what kind of excuse her best friend had come up with. Just then, Angela said something!
"Isn't it because you weren't moved by Nicky's advances for so long? If you weren't bewitched by Christine, what else could it be? Did you expect Nicky to strip naked and lie in front of you?!"
Upon hearing this, Nikki, true to her best friend's words, blurted out, "That's right, you want me to take my clothes off... Pfft!!! Angie, what are you saying?! Who, who hinted at something?!" When she finally remembered what her best friend had said, she almost died of embarrassment. How could she say something like that? What did I ever do to you, sis?!
Adam had only intended to tease these two mischievous kids, but he never expected that the little girl named Angela would come up with such an excuse, almost making him spit out the wine he had just drunk.
Adam coughed a few times before recovering, and somewhat embarrassedly growled at the two girls in a low voice, "That's enough! If you can't think of an excuse, don't make up one! Do you want to kill someone?!"
Nicky glared indignantly at her best friend. She couldn't understand how Angela could come up with such embarrassing words, let alone say them. While she did admire Adam, she was pursuing him openly and honestly, not making any suggestive remarks or anything like that!
Angela took a step back, looking scared, and said to Adam, "Who told you to keep ignoring Nicky? Besides, aren't you a playboy? How come you can't see that Nicky likes you? I don't believe that a playboy can change his ways so quickly and truly fall in love with a woman. Otherwise, there wouldn't be the saying 'a leopard can't change its spots'!"
Adam said helplessly, "You're too young to understand love, so I can't explain these things to you. Alright, stop bothering me. Christine isn't a mutant, I can assure you of that. As for your plan to prank Christine, I won't hold it against you. Well, that's all. Oh, Tony seems to be calling me, I'm going over there!" After saying that, he fled from the two little witches, otherwise he really didn't know what kind of words he would hear later.
Just then, Adam suddenly heard a very familiar voice, a voice he could never forget!
"Shadow Knight, oh right, I should call you Superman, hehe, guess who I am? If you guess right, I'll move the battlefield!"
Adam paused slightly, quickly inspected the scene but found nothing amiss, so he said coldly, "Mage Eric Hassen! Weren't you sent to another dimension by the backlash of your own magic?"
Eric Hassen laughed wildly and said, "Hahahaha, not bad. I was tricked by you and fell into another dimension, oh, what we often call hell. Unfortunately, the heavens didn't destroy me. I gained even greater strength inside and cultivated for a full twenty years. Now I've come to take my revenge!"
After seeing Helios and his wife, Adam knew that the so-called hellish space did exist. Of course, it was not the legendary place where souls returned, but an alternate dimension controlled by a powerful alien creature. Therefore, from that moment on, he was mentally prepared for the possibility that the magician might reappear. So, although he was somewhat surprised by Eric Hassen's reappearance and provocation, he was not shocked by it.
Adam said calmly, "Then congratulations. However, if you want to make your move here, you will offend all the superpowers in the United States. So, choose another place!"
P.S.: My collection is increasing at an extremely slow pace. Thank you to all my friends who support me. Because of the heavy workload this week, plus the home renovation, I haven't been able to update properly for many days. Sorry!
Chapter 165 A Duel Between Magicians?
Just as Adam received a challenge from Eric Hassen, who was now a powerful sorcerer in Hell, Christine, who was chatting with a group of wealthy young women in a room on the second floor, suddenly frowned. She had clearly detected the magical fluctuations emanating from the party. As a divine being, she was very familiar with magical fluctuations, and these fluctuations carried an aura she utterly disliked. How could she not have noticed them?
Of course, this was also due to Eric Hassen's carelessness. After all, although he was able to use magic, it was because of the family's inherited ring that he knew very little about the magical world on Earth. That's why he used magic so openly to provoke Adam.
A woman sitting next to Christine noticed Christine frowning and asked, "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
Although Christine had removed the bewitching spell, she had already become close friends with these women through her charm and charisma. Of course, they were just ordinary friends; after all, women's choice of friends is as unpredictable as their temperament, and seemingly close friends are often just ordinary friends.
Christine looked apologetically at the women and said, "Excuse me, I need to go to the restroom." After saying that, she left the women and went into the hall. She immediately saw the place with the most concentrated magical traces, where her beloved man, Adam Stark, stood.
Adam obviously couldn't use magic, and Christine immediately knew that someone was using something like telepathy to talk to her man. Christine knew how to break this kind of magic, and strictly speaking, human magic was adapted from the magic used by gods or elves. Therefore, as a child of the gods, Christine possessed some magic unique to the gods, which was a backup plan left by the gods to guard against humans.
Christine used her abilities to decipher the voice shrouded in magic, and coldly chuckled, "Hmph, a mortal tainted by the spirits of hell. How dare you presume to harm my beloved! Let me deal with you!" With that, she chanted a spell and vanished without attracting anyone's attention.
Of course, Christine didn't forget to send a telepathic message to Adam before leaving, so Adam wasn't surprised that he couldn't hear Eric Hassen's voice. However, he contacted Athena and asked her to find Christine and Eric Hassen's location. Although Christine was much stronger than before and had learned a lot of magic, she was still his woman, and Adam couldn't help but worry about her safety.
However, Athena shook her head and said, "I'm sorry, Master, I have lost track of Miss Christine. The positioning system can't contact her either. It seems they've entered the same place as last time. Or perhaps Miss Christine used magic that can block electromagnetic signals."
Adam sighed after hearing this and said, "Okay, I understand. Keep investigating and let me know as soon as you have any news!" After saying that, he found Tony, who was chatting with the actresses, and told him that he had to leave.
Tony was surprised to hear this, but then he realized that Kristen wasn't with Adam, so he broke free from the other actresses and went to Adam, asking, "What happened? Where's Kristen? Did you two have a fight?"
Adam, feeling somewhat agitated, forgot about joking with Tony and said directly, "Someone I didn't expect just appeared. Because the other party is a magician, Christine discovered the traces of the enemy before me and went to chase after them alone. Now I have no way of knowing Christine's location. So I want to go back and investigate with Athena."
Tony was startled and exclaimed, "A magician? Could it be that guy who appeared before?"
Although Tony wasn't particularly fond of Adam's superhero status, actually feeling that Adam was doing thankless work, he still kept an eye on Adam's affairs. Tony had a copy of the information on every enemy Adam encountered, something Athena had told Adam about. Otherwise, Adam might not have realized that Tony cared about him so much. Of course, Adam didn't expose Tony's ulterior motives, but he simply treated Tony with even more care than before.
But I digress, let's get back to the main point!
Adam nodded and said, "That's right, it's that guy. I thought I might never see him again in my life, but I didn't expect that he would climb out of hell even if he went down to hell."
Tony shrugged and said, "That just shows how deep their love for you is! Oh, okay, I'm not kidding anymore. Well, since you're worried about Christine, you should leave now. I'll tell Paris. Of course, I can't do anything about Nicky either!"
Adam said, "Well, I'll be leaving today. See you tomorrow!" Then he left the Hilton Hotel without anyone noticing.
Not long after Adam left, Paris, dressed in a silver evening gown, approached Tony and asked, "Has Adam already left?"
Tony shrugged and said, "That's life for superheroes. It's already quite an achievement to have stayed this long. You know New York City, there's never a moment of peace!"
Paris sighed after hearing this and said, "Something's happened again? Sigh!"
Tony chuckled and said, "Ah, something has indeed happened, but I believe he can handle it, so let's not worry. By the way, as a friend, let me give you a warning, Paris. Once my brother gets serious, he won't easily change his mind, so you should try to persuade Nicky." With that, he waved goodbye to Paris with a flourish and returned to the group of beautiful women.
Paris paused for a moment after hearing this, then said softly, "If I could quit so quickly, I would have given up long ago. Sigh."
She knew that Tony's words, though addressed to Nikki, also contained a part to persuade her. After all, anyone with a brain could see the feelings between her sisters. She also knew Tony was telling the truth, but she was reluctant to give up on Paris. Even if they couldn't become boyfriend and girlfriend, she wanted to leave a beautiful night and give Adam her most precious possession—that was Paris's true purpose.
Elsewhere, on an island in the Pacific Ocean, the constant roaring sounds emanating from within the island transformed what was once a quiet place into a bustling, and of course, extremely dangerous, scene.
These commotions were, of course, caused by two people who were constantly exchanging magical attacks. These two people were Eric Hassen, who had just come out of hell and wanted to take revenge on Adam, and Christine, who had intercepted Eric's voice, accurately located his position, and wanted to teach him a lesson!
Eric felt unlucky, never expecting that such a powerful magician existed on Earth. That's why he recklessly used telepathic magic, intending to use all the guests in the Hilton Hotel as hostages to force Adam to fight him. However, he didn't expect that there was a magician in the hotel who was several times more powerful than him. In an instant, the magician knew his location, used teleportation to bring him to this island, and even put a barrier on the island. If Eric didn't defeat the magician, he wouldn't be able to leave.
Of course, Eric also had something to be thankful for, which was that it seemed that this mysterious magician, well, Christine, had used divine magic to hide her identity, so even Eric Hassen, who was already a great magician, could not see her true identity. Therefore, Eric thought that Christine was an immortal old woman who had cultivated for thousands of years.
What Eric was relieved about was that the old monster didn't seem to intend to kill him. He was just constantly using advanced magic to exchange blows with him. Of course, if he couldn't withstand the opponent's attacks, Eric believed that the opponent wouldn't mind killing him as well.
Actually, Eric misunderstood. He saw that Christine could use powerful magic to locate him and teleport here, sometimes even covering the entire island with powerful magic. An ordinary human magician would have died from magic exhaustion long ago, but Christine's magic source is the sun. As long as the sun on Earth exists, she can obtain an inexhaustible supply of magic. Don't ask me what happens when there is no sun at night. Everyone knows that the sun is in the sky 365 days a year; it's just that we can't see it sometimes.
Thus, because of this immense magical power, Eric assumed Christine was a magician who had lived for thousands of years, and that her attack was merely a test of his strength upon seeing him as a new magician. He thought she was deliberately revealing weaknesses to lure him into a fight. All we can say is that Eric has been in the Netherworld for a while and has misunderstood the situation.
The real reason was that Christine hadn't studied magic long enough, and because it was her first time fighting a magician, she had some openings. However, seeing that her opponent didn't seem to want to launch an attack, Christine was happy to take it easy and used the magician in front of her as a sparring partner, gradually improving her magic skills.
Of course, Christine knew her opponent would eventually discover this, so she kept a backup plan, preparing for a counterattack. But it was precisely this caution that made Eric even more suspicious that she was deliberately luring him into a fight, wondering if her opponent was using her to experiment with new magic. This wasn't surprising to Eric, as the magic Christine currently used was all possessed by the gods, and humans had only learned a portion of it, creating more convenient spells for humans to learn. Therefore, it was understandable that Eric didn't recognize Christine's magic.
And so this very strange battle went on for a long time!

This is the second update!
Chapter 166 Christine's Battle
Of course, having survived 20 years in hell without being killed, Eric Hassen wasn't so easily fooled, so the battle lasted for about an hour.
"Wait, who are you? This kind of technique is not something a mature mage should possess!"
Christine realized that her opponent had become suspicious, and she knew that she could no longer fight so leisurely. It wasn't that Christine was weak, but rather that her combat experience, especially her experience fighting against mages, was her weakness.
"Hehe, thank you so much for being my sparring partner for so long! There are still some things I haven't fully grasped yet, and I never expected that a battle could help me understand some things faster. So, as a way of repaying you, I will use my most powerful magic to defeat you!"
Eric Hassen was furious upon hearing this and shouted, "Damn it, who are you?"
Unfortunately, his response was a bolt of lightning as thick as an arm that Christine quickly unleashed. Lightning magic is one of the most difficult to master yet most powerful forms of magic, extremely difficult for ordinary humans to control. However, Christine was not human at all; she was a deity, so using lightning magic was perfectly normal for her.
Eric, who was forcibly transformed into an alien race by the Hell Space, has an innate fear of lightning. Upon seeing lightning magic, he quickly extended a magic staff and created a defensive magic circle in front of him, barely blocking Christine's lightning magic.
"Lightning magic? Damn it, who are you? Oh right, you just said Adam Stark is your boyfriend? You're that movie star Christine? How is that possible? How could you be such a high-level magician? No, if you're a high-level magician, you can't possibly have no combat experience at all. What's going on?"
Christine curled her lip and said, "You talk too much nonsense!" Then she launched another attack.
Upon seeing this, Eric Hassen casually unleashed a magic ball to neutralize Christine's magic. He steadied himself, took a small bag from his pocket, tossed it forward, and began chanting a spell.
After just one hour of sparring, Christine was no longer a novice who didn't know how to fight. Well, although she was still a novice, she wouldn't ignore Eric Hassen's little tricks anymore. When she saw Eric Hassen throw out the small bag, Christine cautiously raised a defensive spell in front of her.
Eric sneered upon seeing this, and after reciting the incantation, said, "Hmph, I see you have immense strength but don't know how to use it. You also lack knowledge of magical techniques." He then spoke in a language that was not human.
The small bag that Eric Hassen had thrown out instantly came to rest, followed by a mournful roar, and then a lion covered in blue flames appeared on the spot.
Christine frowned slightly upon seeing this and said, "Hellfire Lion? You're from Hell? No wonder I have an innate aversion to you. So you're a demon from Hell. Hmph, do you really think you can do whatever you want just because the gods have left Earth?"
Besides studying and learning magic at the Temple of the Sun, Christine also read many books left to her by Helios and Surtur, thus gaining some knowledge of ancient secrets. Therefore, upon seeing that only Hell could harbor the Flame Lion, she immediately recognized its origin. Of course, she was wrong in some ways; Eric was not a demon from Hell. Furthermore, he was once human and unaware of the connection between Hell and the divine realm. Therefore, Eric was merely surprised that Christine knew of the existence of the Hell Flame Lion.
Eric sneered, "Not bad. I didn't expect you to know about the Hellfire Lion. But your attempts to stall for time are futile; you're dead today!" He assumed Christine's last words were merely a ploy to pique his curiosity and buy time.
Seeing that the Flame Lion was finally getting serious, Christine casually repelled it with a ball of light and said, "Looks like you really underestimated me!" With that, she roared, and a flash of golden light appeared around her, revealing an exquisitely crafted suit of armor that surprised Eric.
"You're not a magician?"
Christine sneered, "How ignorant you are! Ancient mages were all first-rate warriors, didn't you know? They often designed a spike in their magic wands so they could engage in close combat with their enemies when their magic power was low. Hmph!"
Of course, the truth is not as Christine said. Although it may have been true in ancient times, Christine wore her armor only to protect herself from harm. After all, this armor was protected by Helios, Sur, and Athena, so ordinary people could not harm her.
If the Hellfire Lion hadn't appeared, Christine probably wouldn't have used this armor, since that would have prevented her from getting any training benefits. However, after the Hellfire Lion appeared, Christine realized she was no match for the beast, so she had no choice but to put on her armor.
Eric ignored Christine's words and coldly said, "Fire Lion, attack!" He then quickly chanted a spell, preparing to deliver a fatal blow to Christine at any moment.
Upon hearing the command, the Hellfire Lion opened its mouth and spewed out a blue flame. Then, it leaped out and swung its right hand, the size of an adult's head, with the force of thunder towards the spot where Christine was bound to pass.
Christine watched Flame Lion's attack and gave a light shout, releasing a defensive circle in front of her. Seeing Flame Lion's actions, a smile appeared on her lips. She struck Flame Lion's right palm hard with her right palm, and with a loud bang, Flame Lion was sent flying by Christine's seemingly very thin punch.
Eric Hassen exclaimed in disbelief, "How is this possible? You! You!~~~~"
Christine sneered, "Hmph, if you had the Flame Lion assist you and let it use dark magic to attack, I might be a little afraid. But you shouldn't have thought I was an ordinary mage and let the Flame Lion attack me at close range. Hmph, I can rival Adam in strength!"
Eric cursed his bad luck upon hearing this. He never imagined that the magician he was encountering was completely different from the one he had met in Hell. His plan to take advantage of Christine's lack of experience to quickly end the battle had failed.
However, he was not discouraged, because the Flame Lion, this hellish beast, was a pure energy body. Although it was knocked to the ground by Christine's punch and then dissipated, Eric Hassen could revive the Flame Lion with just a word. This was also why Christine was somewhat wary of Eric.
"Hmph, don't be too happy yet. Although you scattered the Flame Lion, it is not dead! Revive!" After saying that, he walked behind Christine, and with a flash of gray light, the Flame Lion came back to life.
Christine knew that Eric wouldn't make the same mistake again, so after dodging the attacks launched by Flame Lion and Eric together, she conjured several light arrows in her right hand and casually swung them at Eric Hassen.
Just as the light arrow was about to hit Eric, the Flame Lion spewed flames again, neutralizing the attack. Then, Eric finished reciting a long incantation, and a dozen skeletons gleaming with metallic light slowly emerged from the magic circle on the ground. These skeletons, some carrying longswords and others holding crossbows, attacked Christine as soon as they appeared.
Christine snorted coldly upon seeing this and said, "Hmph, necromancy? If you used other magic, I might be a little wary, but since you've used necromancy, be prepared to be attacked!" With that, she waved her right hand and pulled up a light barrier to block the attacks of the undead and the fire lions. Then, to Eric's astonishment, she slowly rose from the ground and hovered in mid-air.
Hovering in mid-air, Christine resembled a deity, her long golden hair flowing in the wind, her entire body radiating a soft light. After a moment, Christine opened her eyes, looking at Eric on the ground, who was continuously controlling the skeleton warriors to attack her, and said calmly, "As payment for being my sparring partner before, I will use ten percent of my divine power to drive this move this time. Rest in peace, may the light shine upon your soul! May the light shine upon you!!!" As she spoke, she slowly raised her hands above her head, and a dazzling light gathered between Christine's hands, a terrifying pressure emanating from Christine!
Ps:
Third update!!!
Chapter 167 Athena Wants to Learn Magic?
The light shines everywhere!
If anyone who played the old King of Fighters saw this move, they would definitely come over and question Christine, saying it's illogical. But poor Eric Hasson, who had never played or even followed the game, could only stare dumbfounded at Christine in mid-air. △¢,
The reason he was dumbfounded was because he couldn't do anything else but stand there dumbfounded. Although Christine said she was only using one-tenth of her divine power, divine power is still a level higher than human magic. So Eric was just about to mock Christine for overestimating herself when he found that he couldn't move at all.
