“Sorry, Superman, we haven’t found him yet. You know he’s very good at hiding,” Hal Jordan said, head down.
Since the nuclear bomb incident, he had lost his eligibility to become Green Lantern. He was then found by Sinestro, the leader of the Yellow Lantern Corps, who gave him a yellow ring representing fear, thus making him a member of the Yellow Lantern Corps. Sinestro seemed very interested in what would happen after Green Lantern became Yellow Lantern, so he stayed on Earth and worked for Superman.
“Don’t worry, boss, we’ll find him.” Sinestro said with a sly grin, “I already have a great plan to get Batman involved.”
"Hmph, the last time you said that, we used your method to publicly execute that Green Arrow guy, but Batman still didn't show up," Diana said coldly.
“We were all there that time. If Batman had shown up, he wouldn’t be Batman,” Sinestro said calmly. “Back then, I had just arrived on Earth and didn’t know that person well. But recently I’ve looked at some information about his old house and I have a way to make him appear.”
"Oh, what exactly is the method?" Superman seemed to have become somewhat interested in Sinestro's explanation and asked.
“I found Batman’s parents’ graves,” Sinestro said with a smile.
"Oh? Interesting. But I'll leave this to you to handle alone." Although he had become a dictator, he still looked down on this method, so Superman said, "I don't need to know the process, I only need the result."
“Alright, I understand, but let Hal come along too,” Sinestro said calmly.
“I… Superman, he is, after all, our friend.” Hal Jordan wanted to retort, but seemed terrified of Superman, his words trembling as he spoke.
“Okay, then Green Lantern will go with you,” Superman said to Sinestro, ignoring Hal Jordan.
"Heh, don't worry, by the time we meet again, I'll have already caught Batman." Sinestro laughed and left with Hal Jordan.
--------------Adam's Time Travel-------------
Traveling between universes doesn't seem to be as slow or as exciting as Adam imagined; there's only tranquility. To use a familiar saying, it's over in the blink of an eye.
In a secluded corner, a milky-white portal suddenly appeared. The Flash was the first to run out of it. Then the milky-white portal turned green, and within seconds, Adam, Athena, and Ganata also walked out of the portal.
"This is just another world, isn't it?" Adam looked around and found that it was exactly the same as some of the backstreets in New York. He pursed his lips and said.
“That’s right, this is my world, but we’d better hurry up and leave, or Superman and the others will find us,” the Flash said cautiously.
"Don't worry, I've taken over the nearby surveillance equipment, so no one will notice for the time being," Athena said with a slight smile.
Chapter 358 Current State of the World
"Where do we go now?" Adam asked the Flash.
“Now, let’s change out of our uniforms, put on some civilian clothes, and go out to gather some information,” the Flash said, stroking his chin.
"It's your world, it's your decision." Adam didn't have any objections. After all, it was a new world, and he couldn't make any decisions before he understood it.
Adam pressed a button on his belt, and the uniforms he was wearing immediately disintegrated and were absorbed into his belt. Athena and Ganata weren't wearing uniforms to begin with, so there was no need for them to do so. As for the Flash, he put his uniform into his ring and transformed back into the sunny young man, Barry Allen.
“I have a place to stay in Metropolis that no one knows about except Batman. Let’s go there first,” Barry Allen said to Adam.
“Okay, no problem, but is the paper money here the same as in our world?” Adam asked a crucial question.
“It seems to be unusable, Master. Look at the time over there; it’s already 2025.” Athena said to Adam, “It seems to be about ten years ahead of our world. The latest generation of paper money seems to have been issued in 2016.”
“Well, I knew this would happen. But has Athena finished?” Adam asked.
"Okay, our identity information has been entered into the federal server. It seems there aren't that many intelligent programs in this world," Athena said with a smile.
“You guys are so thoughtful. Alright, this way.” Barry Allen immediately led the way after hearing that Athena had resolved the identity issue.
They arrived around 3 p.m., so there wasn't much unusual on the streets of the metropolis at that time, except for a few fully armed police officers patrolling every few hundred meters.
Barry Allen and his companions walked out of the secluded alley and hailed a taxi. After a series of close calls, they arrived safely at one of Barry Allen's hideouts in the metropolis, which seemed to be Batman's contact point with him.
Upon arriving at the apartment, Adam stopped Barry Allen from entering and had Athena inspect it. Sure enough, there were surveillance cameras and listening devices around the apartment and inside the rooms. Athena nodded slightly to Adam, silently telling him that there was something there, and then took control of all the electronic devices in the house.
“Master, all surveillance equipment has been taken into control,” Athena told Adam.
Barry Allen asked in surprise, "Have we been exposed?"
“We still don’t know if we’ve been exposed. Maybe Batman planted this. So the question now is, where is Batman?” Adam asked Barry Allen.
“He’s always the one who contacts me, that’s just his temper. But I’ve already marked the way back, so if he’s still in Metropolis, he should be able to find us soon,” Barry Allen said to Adam.
“Okay, let’s go in first.” Adam used his X-ray vision to survey the surroundings and found that there was no one watching, so he followed Barry Allen into the apartment.
"Oh my god, it's been over a month since I left. Damn it, that guy seems to have gotten suspicious." Barry Allen exclaimed as he walked into the house and saw the date on the digital calendar.
"A month? But you only stayed with us for two weeks!" Athena asked, frowning.
"Perhaps the timelines of the two worlds are out of sync," Adam analyzed.
“Babby, I’m hungry.” At this moment, Janata suddenly said to Adam.
"Ah, let's not talk about this for now. You guys stay here for a while, I'll go buy some food."
When Barry Allen saw that Ganata was already hungry, he didn't continue with the main topic. After all, Batman hadn't arrived yet, and a month had already passed. He didn't know what the situation was like outside, so it was best to remain still for now.
Adam nodded slightly after hearing this and said, "Alright, I'll have Athena gather some information first, and wait for Batman while we wait."
Barry Allen picked up his coat and said, "You guys sit here for a while, I'll go buy some food. We've been here for a month now, and although we have a cleaning lady to help clean, she can only keep it clean."
After speaking, Barry Allen took out a pair of black-rimmed glasses from the cabinet next to the door, put on a baseball cap, picked up the key hanging behind the door, and left the room.
Inside the room, Adam said to Athena, "Alright, let's start gathering information."
"Okay, master."
Athena nodded, closed her eyes, and used her powers to steal the information she needed. Adam, meanwhile, took an energy block from his pocket and handed it to Janata. Her earlier cries of hunger weren't because she actually wanted pizza or anything like that; rather, her voracious appetite had returned.
Fortunately, when Adam left his world, he had Christine create a spatial artifact to bring the Cosmic Cube with him. This was to prevent Ganata from going berserk due to her devouring desires and becoming something like Galactus.
"Thanks, Dad." Janata smiled as she held the energy block in her hand, taking a bite as if it were a chocolate.
“I’m always surprised to see you eating energy bars.” Adam shrugged, picked up Ganata, and then asked Athena, “How are you?”
"The entire world has been taken over by the people of this world. The US president was killed, and in his place is Lex Luthor of Lex Luthor Corporation, a former supervillain. They seem to have killed almost all the rebels. Now, only Batman's Black Rebels, a resistance organization composed of some supervillains, and Harley Quinn's Joker Army remain to resist the people and his Justice League." Athena briefly explained the situation.
"Justice League, huh? It should be called the Injustice League, shouldn't it?" Adam scoffed. "That guy's really sensitive."
"Master, what would you do if you encountered something like this?" Athena suddenly asked.
“Me? Heh, I’m also easily offended,” Adam shrugged.
"Hmm, Master is just too cute." Athena covered her mouth and laughed.
"Alright, any other news?" Adam waved his hand and asked.
“There is indeed news that the human army and the sea creatures of Atlantis have clashed. Aquaman seems dissatisfied with the humans’ actions and has left the Justice League to return to Atlantis. They have fought several battles recently,” Athena told Adam.
"Humans want to rule the whole Earth," Adam remarked. "By the way, is there any news about Paradise Island?"
“Oh, Paradise Island has now clearly declared its support, and Wonder Woman Diana seems to be in the Justice League… well, Injustice League.” After Athena finished speaking, she asked, “Master, why are you asking this question?”
“Because Paradise Island has some connections with the Olympian gods,” Adam said, stroking his chin. “We don’t yet know the gods’ attitude toward this matter.”
"Ah, isn't that the same race of gods that Christine's parents belong to?" Athena asked in surprise.
“That’s right, that’s why I didn’t let Christine come along, because I don’t know if the gods are behind this.” Adam said in a deep voice.
"Ah, Master, you already knew about this world?" Athena asked in surprise.
“I had a nightmare a few days ago. I thought it was just a nightmare, but when Barry Allen appeared in front of me, I knew it wasn’t a nightmare at all,” Adam said after a slight pause.
“Okay, wait, it seems Barry is back.” Athena suddenly stood up and said.
"There's no tail, is there?" Adam asked after hearing this. "I don't want to be hiding here as soon as I arrive."
"I didn't see anything, so he probably hasn't been exposed yet." Athena got up and walked to the door, saying, "Looks like his disguise skills are pretty good."
Chapter 359 The Joker Army (Part 1)
Athena arrived at the door, opened it, and saw Barry Allen just taking out his medicine. She smiled slightly and stepped aside, asking, "What delicious food did you buy?"
"I just bought some fast food nearby because I didn't know what Ganata wanted to eat, so I bought a little of everything," Barry Allen said with a smile.
"You look so happy, did something good happen?" Adam asked.
“No, it’s not that anything good has happened, but that nothing has happened.” Barry Allen put the food he was holding on the table and said, “Given the current situation, this is the best intelligence we can get.”
"Were you worried about Batman before?" Athena asked.
“Well, although he is very intelligent, he is still just an ordinary person, at most an ordinary person who has undergone rigorous training,” Barry Allen sighed.
"Don't worry about that. I already had Athena hack into the federal government's servers, and there was no news of Batman being captured. The arrest warrant on those servers hasn't been withdrawn yet," Adam reassured Barry Allen.
"Sigh, I wonder how Alice is doing." Barry Allen sighed and said, "It's a good thing that Batman didn't agree with everyone's identities before, otherwise, as long as people capture the family members of every superhero, we wouldn't have to resist."
“It’s not that your information is missing, but rather that it was deleted by Batman when the Joker was killed,” Athena interjected. “He was the first to arrive at the Watchtower and delete all the data, then he went back to his base and blew it up. That’s what I found out before.”
"So it was him who protected us," Barry Allen said, suddenly realizing.
“Hmm, but I couldn’t find any information about Batman online either. It seems he’s being very cautious,” Athena said to Barry Allen.
“That’s just the kind of person he is. He’s cautious and suspicious all his life, which is why he’s been able to survive being hunted down.” Barry Allen shook his head and said, “He’s more suited to be a superhero than any of us. Most of us became superheroes because of our own abilities, but he started learning everywhere from his teenage years in order to save his city.”
"Did he tell you how to contact you?" Adam asked.
“He just told me to leave a code on the street, and then he would come and contact me himself.” Barry Allen shook his head and said, “He didn’t tell me the specific method.”
"It seems he doesn't entirely trust you either," Athena said sarcastically.
"Alright, that's enough. Batman's caution is justified in this situation," Adam waved his hand, signaling Athena to stop talking.
“Oh, right, I heard some news about the Joker’s army on my way back. They seem to have some kind of event going on tonight. Maybe we can go check it out. The Joker’s army and Batman seem to have some connection as well,” Barry Allen suggested.
“Alright, let me go with you and take a look,” Adam nodded slightly.
After agreeing on the plan, they began to devour the dinner that Barry Allen had brought. As for Janata, she turned on the TV and began to enjoy the chicken wings and drumsticks with both hands. Just then, a news report appeared on the TV.
"Hey, that person looks a lot like Dad!" Janata suddenly pointed at the TV and exclaimed.
Adam was taken aback by the news. He looked up at the television and, sure enough, saw a man who bore a striking resemblance to himself, grimly informing all citizens that a large-scale conscription was underway due to the war with Atilantis. The announcement also included a kill order for the rebels.
"Go to war with Atlantis? Has this guy gone mad?" Barry Allen exclaimed in surprise. "Did Aquaman go back too?"
“The biggest event that happened during the month you were gone was this. According to my investigation, Paradise Island seems to have lost a battle against Atilantis. Perhaps that’s one of the reasons why people are suddenly being conscripted,” Athena told them.
“Perhaps, but he will bring even more disaster to the world.” Barry Allen sighed and said, “I should have agreed to him back then, otherwise so many things would not have happened.”
"At that time? What do you mean?" Adam asked curiously.
