After hearing this, Adam looked at the girl behind him and said, "Wait! There's something else!"

Logan followed Adam's gaze and saw Mary behind Adam. He frowned and said, "You mean...?"

Adam pointed at the girl and said, "Since you're going to the next city, take Little Rascal with you. After all, she reminded us earlier, and it definitely won't work to leave her here. Oh, and she wants to go to Raffi City, so just take her to a bigger city."

Adam had just spoken with the girl who called herself Little Rascal and learned that she wanted to go to Lafite City, but a ruthless driver had taken her to this small town and then abandoned her. So she was waiting to catch a ride to the big city.

Adam was worried about a little girl traveling alone, so he had Logan take her with him for safety reasons.

Logan paused after hearing this, then asked, "Aren't you afraid?"

Mary shook her head. After all, she was a mutant herself, so she wasn't afraid of Logan. On the contrary, she was excited and had many questions for him. Therefore, she didn't reject Adam's arrangement.

Logan looked at Adam and said, "Fine, I'll take her to the next city, but I won't worry about what happens after that."

After hearing this, Mary said, "That's fine, sir. Once we get to the city, I'll be able to move around on my own."

Adam smiled and said, "Hehe, since that's the case, then you should get going too. I'm also preparing to return to New York. See you again sometime!"

Logan nodded and said, "Okay, I'll look for you when I get to New York." He then took Mary into his 'RV,' waved to Adam, and left.

Seeing them leave, Adam also drove away from the town, and on the way he called his assistant to book him a flight back to New York. He sped all the way to the villa.

After parking the car, Adam walked into the villa's living room and saw his assistant already dressed and sitting on the sofa. Looking at his assistant, who seemed a bit dazed, Adam smiled and went over to him.

Adam asked, "How's it going? Have you booked the plane tickets?"

Susan nodded and said, "Yes, boss, the plane tickets have been booked. The flight departs at noon, so you can say goodbye to Miss Christine."

After hearing this, Adam smiled and said, "Okay, thank you. Go back and rest for a while. You have to come back with me at noon!"

Susan replied, "Okay, boss!" and left the living room.

Seeing Susan's actions, Adam couldn't help but laugh and said softly, "Hehe, this silly girl, I really don't know whether to call you smart or an idiot." After sighing, he went back to his bedroom, took a shower, and lay down on his soft bed to catch up on sleep.

About two hours later, Adam woke up, washed up, left the villa, and returned a little late for breakfast. He then knocked on Christine's door again.

The door opened, and Christine, wearing pink pajamas, opened it. She smiled when she saw Adam and let him in before closing the door.

As soon as Adam thought about going back today, he pulled Christine close and kissed her. After a while, he let go of Christine and held her in his arms.

Christine, panting heavily, said, "Do you want me to suffocate to death?"

Adam chuckled and said, "How could I bear to!"

Christine rolled her eyes and said, "Ugh! By the way, did your friend go back?"

Adam nodded and said, "Yes, Logan has left, and I have to go back to New York too."

"What?! Back to New York?" Christine was a little taken aback, but she knew men prioritized their careers. After a moment of silence, she asked, "When are you leaving?"

Adam hugged Christine, kissed her forehead, and said, "I'm leaving at noon today. Something came up in New York and they need me to go there. Don't worry, I'll come see you as soon as things are settled there."

Christine said, "Okay, I'm just a little reluctant to part ways. You know we've only just begun..."

Adam knew what Christine was worried about, so after giving her another passionate kiss, he said to Christine, who was already getting aroused, "Hehe, don't worry, my darling, I'll call you whenever I have time."

Christine murmured, "Yes, Adam, I love you!"

Adam said gently, "I love you too, Christine."

Adam picked Christine up, placed her on the bed, and kissed her gently.

They lingered there for a while, doing everything they were supposed to do except for the final step. After their pleasure, Adam held the somewhat exhausted Christine, and they took a bath together, then ate a lovingly prepared breakfast to replenish their energy.

After breakfast, Adam and Christine walked out of the room together and found Susan waiting for them on the second-floor stairs.

Adam asked, puzzled, "Susan, is something the matter?"

Susan saw Adam breathe a sigh of relief and said, "Boss, we should go. It'll be a while before we get to the city, and if we don't leave soon, we'll definitely be late."

Upon hearing Susan's words, Adam checked the time and realized he had spent almost two or three hours in Christine's room; it was indeed time to leave.

Adam coughed lightly and said, "Alright, Susan, go pack your things."

After hearing this, Susan said, "Everything is ready, and we're just waiting for the boss. I've been waiting for almost half an hour. If you don't come out soon, I'm going to go and knock on the door myself."

Hearing Susan's words, Christine blushed and said, "Adam, since it's getting late, you should set off."

Director Alice asked, "I heard from your assistant that you're going back to New York?"

Director Alice shook her head and said, "No, that's not true. To be honest, if you were serious, you could definitely be an excellent director."

Adam knew that Alice was somewhat suspicious of his motives after what happened with Christine, but he didn't need to explain, so he shrugged and said, "Heh, maybe. I'll leave Christine in your care."

Adam smiled and said, "Don't worry, I've already figured out a way. Well, it's getting late, I should go now. Goodbye, Director Alice." After saying goodbye to the crew, he drove away from the villa.

After a two- or three-hour drive, Adam and Susan arrived at the airport and then flew smoothly for several hours back to New York.

After returning to New York, Adam first gave Susan a few days off to rest before returning to work. Then he called his parents and Tony to tell them he was back in New York.

Chapter Twenty-Eight: Logan's Attack

Logan glanced at the metal plate and said, "I don't know! You're not really called Little Rascal, are you?"

Laughter filled the car, and their mutual attraction led them to become friends.

Just then, a towering tree by the roadside suddenly crashed down in the middle of the road with a loud bang, colliding violently with the RV that couldn't brake in time. After a cracking sound of shattering glass, Logan, who wasn't wearing a seatbelt, was thrown out of the vehicle.

Logan shook his neck and stood up. The horrific wounds all over his body disappeared in just a few seconds, and there was no trace of his injuries.

Logan glanced at the tree stump blocking the road and frowned. It was obvious that it had been broken by someone. He became wary, preparing to prevent another sneak attack.

Just then, he heard Mary's cries for help and quickly went over to ask, "Hey, are you alright?"

Mary's leg was stuck, and the RV somehow caught fire. The gas cylinder was also thrown out in the accident and landed right next to the fire, threatening to explode the vehicle!

Mary frantically called out to Logan for help, hoping he would rescue her quickly. Upon hearing Logan's words, she shouted, "My foot is stuck, and the car is about to explode!"

Logan said after hearing this, "Wait a minute! I'm coming to rescue you!" He then slowly approached the car while keeping a watchful eye on himself.

Just as Logan reached the front of the car, he heard a whooshing sound coming from behind. Logan sneered and extended six claws, turning around and stabbing the claws viciously into the shoulders of the newcomer.

The one who ambushed Wolverine was a tall man with long, flowing blond hair and green eyes filled with murderous intent. Like Logan, he had four canine teeth. With a roar, he grabbed Logan's hands and slammed him hard against the hood of the car. The terrifying force knocked Logan unconscious instantly.

The man frowned at Logan, seemingly lost in thought, but was startled by Mary's call, then chuckled and walked toward the car door.

Just then, the snow and ice were suddenly enveloped by a mysterious force and struck the tall man. The tall man turned around and looked into the distance, where he saw two people in black uniforms. They were his old rivals, Storm and Cyclops from the X-Men.

Upon discovering that his old rival seemed poised to steal his prey, the tall man roared.
