After that, they broke up.
At that moment, on her way back to the dormitory, Mikoto suddenly stopped and muttered to herself, "...Did I forget something? Oh well, if I forgot something, it must be something unimportant. It doesn't matter if I forgot it."
The tragic M is being completely forgotten.
Chapter Twenty-Eight seems to have added something.
Perhaps I really am a bit tired lately. Sitting on the Shinkansen heading towards a seaside resort, I thought to myself, and closed my eyes. My sister, Misery, sitting beside me, gently massaged my shoulders with a pained expression.
I was bored just now, so I counted the number of people: one, two, three, four, five, six.
Counting again, it's still one, two, three, four, five, six.
There's one more.
Why is there one extra?
Although the number of beautiful girls participating in the trip has increased, I should be happy. But the fact that there's one more out of nowhere is unsettling.
Spies, assassins, or similar agents sent by hostile forces. Isn't that how they infiltrated?
So I silently counted again in my mind: one, two, three, four, five, six. Six, no doubt. This was the sixth time.
To be honest, six isn't a good number. Western hell has 366 levels, while Eastern hell has 368. Both are three sixes, damn it. Going back a bit further, in a previous timeline, I was the Governor-General of the Northeast, and the Kyoto Six Families were one of the six representatives of Japan's 66 provinces. Also a series of sixes—and then Japan was destroyed.
So many stark realities have taught me that six is definitely not a good number. So the fact that the number of travelers increased from five to six might mean something—no, it definitely foreshadows something!
This idyllic and romantic vacation might end up stained with blood. Perhaps a serial murder will occur, or maybe some ancient evil god's seal will be broken, unleashing zombies everywhere. Or worse—ah, my head hurts, my head really hurts!
On the other side, Mikoto tenderly took out painkillers and bottled mineral water and handed them to me.
"I never expected that my seemingly gentle and rational older brother would be so superstitious at heart, just like any other Jerusalemite..." Shirai Kuroko, sitting directly across from me, muttered under her breath. She was met with collective disdain from the other four women.
That piercing gaze seemed to be saying to Kuroko: Who do you think caused this?! Just as Wright said! A scourge! A jinx!!
Shirai Kuroko was in tears. She thought back to how she'd practically begged and pleaded to get herself involved in this vacation extravaganza. One older brother and two older sisters... she'd originally wanted to soothe her own heart.
I never expected Onii-chan to be perfectly fine at first, but then turn into this halfway through. He's muttering things like, "Six, bad luck, there's one more, who is it, is it going to rain blood..." It's even triggered a migraine. His two older sisters have to take care of him. So, Kuroko is stuck in the middle with Uiharu and Ruiko, unable to do anything. Instead, he gets all the glares from everyone except me.
I am innocent... Kuroko is in tears.
And so, the three-day beach vacation plan encountered a formidable opponent on its very first day. It wasn't a serial murder case, the descent of an evil god, or any other fictional plot, but a more real, yet far more difficult, problem: the organizer's migraine.
Seeing me arrive at the hotel in pain halfway there, the Misaka sisters were heartbroken and almost threw Shirai Kuroko out the window.
Of course, even if he were actually thrown out, given Kuroko's abilities, he most likely wouldn't die.
God have mercy, I have lived in the Holy Land for fourteen years. From an infant to the handsome young man I am today, I have been immersed in the culture of Christianity day and night.
Putting that aside, recently my memories of heaven have also awakened, where I spent 4.6 billion years as an angel—that's a very long time—and now my thought process has almost become that of an angel.
Of course, it was only "more or less" the extent, and I wasn't exactly well-behaved during my time in Heaven. A large part of the rapid expansion of Christianity is thanks to me.
"No, no, my head hurts so much..." I continued, my migraine throbbing, and I snuggled into Meise's arms, acting spoiled. And Meise, of course, fell for it. She gently gave me her lap as a pillow.
"Mise-senpai is so gentle... She'll definitely be a good wife in the future," Ruiko whispered to Haruharu.
Chu Chun nodded vigorously—but this time, compared to before, there was an additional perverted masochist between the two of them.
Kuroko, who was just banging her head on the table, suddenly raised her head after hearing the conversation between the two people next to her, and then became dizzy due to insufficient blood supply.
Seeing me lying on Meise's lap, Kuroko's drool immediately started pouring down his face. He felt every pore on his body radiating envy, jealousy, and hatred.
"I really want to be used as a lap pillow by Onii-chan... I also really want to lie on Onee-sama's lap... Ah, why can a person only have one body? If there were two, wouldn't we be able to experience twice the happiness?" Immediately afterwards, Kuroko's mind went into chaos, and she slammed her fist on the table in front of her with maximum force.
A loud "crack" startled everyone. Then, they saw Heizi lying motionless in a cloud of smoke.
"It's so noisy..." At this moment, I frowned and propped myself up. I looked left and right at the four girls who were staring in disbelief. Then I turned to the side and said, "Mikoto, my head hurts so much..." Then I lay down on Mikoto's lap.
Seeing Mise looking lost and hesitant, and then seeing Mikoto's face flushed red as she tried to push me away several times but then stopped, I realized I was missing.
The more innocent Chuchun felt as if her brain was stuffed with 103,000 erotic novels, and her brain capacity was insufficient. Her eyes swirled like mosquito coils, and then, like a black dot, she collapsed onto the table.
And so, early spring became the third victim of this trip.
"Hey... Haru-san, and Kuroko-san. What's wrong with you two?" Saten Ruiko, who was more oblivious (or perhaps more cunning), asked, looking somewhat puzzled as she saw the two people to her right lying down.
Are they really confused about the situation?
At that moment, whether intentionally or unintentionally, I tucked my head into Mikoto's knee, and heard her cry out, "Ouch!" Then, a sharp, crackling electric current struck me.
I lightly stomped my foot on the ground, and the uncovered bottle of mineral water on the table spilled. A stream of water, however, didn't reach Kuroko and Hatsuharu, who were lying face down. There was a soft "plop" as the water dripped onto Ruiko's leg.
"Huh?" Ruiko, who hadn't reacted for a moment, exclaimed "Huh?" in a curious voice.
As we all know, water can conduct electricity.
After that, Ruiko became the fourth victim.
Seeing that I was unharmed, her hands and feet became restless. Mikoto, too, had blue smoke rising from her head, her brain seemingly shutting down. This was the fifth victim.
At this moment, Miser noticed that everyone had quieted down. She poked me with her finger and, finding no response, carefully helped my upper body up. Then she placed me back on her lap, a satisfied smile on her face.
Of the six people in the temporary tour group, five had perished. Only Misaka Misaki remained alive.
"The murderer... the murderer is Misaka, Misaka Misaka..." Haru muttered softly in a voice barely louder than a mosquito's buzz.
You have the potential to be a great detective, young lady.
And so, after enduring ten times the fatigue of a normal journey, the impromptu tour group finally arrived at their destination. Dragging their weary steps, amidst the nagging of the forty-something-year-old innkeeper, "Oh dear, these young people nowadays, their stamina is really a problem," they helped each other into the pre-booked inn.
"I've booked three rooms in total. How should we allocate them?" My migraine seemed much better after getting out of the car. I told everyone it was the sea breeze. But what really happened, only I know.
Before anyone could reply, I continued, "This was my original plan: the Misaka sisters would share one room, Haru and Ruiko would share one room, and I would keep one room for myself... but it seems there's been a problem now."
After hearing my words, the other four girls (excluding Kuroko) once again focused their attention on Shirai Kuroko. The overwhelming sense of contempt brought tears to Kuroko's eyes again. She thought to herself: Why am I always the one who gets hurt?! Since that's the case, it would be a real shame not to get some benefits!
And just like that, Kuroko shouted, "I want to share a room with Onii-chan!"
"No way!" ×4.
Her proposal was quickly rejected by the other girls.
Kuroko collapsed again, tears streaming down her face.
"Misaka wants to share a room with Light," Misaka said in an extremely shy yet extremely firm tone. At this moment, Miser made her move.
"no!"
Unfortunately, he was met with strong opposition from his older sister.
"I actually want the two of you to be together and deepen your relationship."
I also smiled and voiced my objection.
By process of elimination, three candidates remain.
Mikoto was proud, and after hesitating for a long time, she wanted to speak but was also a little shy... She thought about it another way: If I were to share a room with him, what if, I mean, what if he came at night... Oh dear, Misaka Mikoto, how could you think of such a thing?!
"How about we assign Haruharu to Wright-senpai's group?" Ruiko suddenly suggested.
"Huh?" Chu Chun didn't react for a moment. It wasn't until she saw the burning gazes of the others that she shyly refused, "I...I can't."
However, Ruiko wasn't going to let her off so easily: "Why not? You're so cute, Haru, you'll definitely satisfy Light-senpai! Come on, show everyone your underwear."
Immediately afterwards, amidst cries of "Oh dear!" in early spring, the innocent young girl was attacked as an artificial updraft lifted her skirt.
...Blue and white stripes? So this is what you're like, early spring.
I nodded silently, then said hesitantly, "Hatsuharu-san... it's not impossible... but..."
"Hatsuharu Shiori! It's you I choose!" Mikoto suddenly declared with great force. Mise, on the other side, was slightly taken aback, but then quickly understood her older sister's thoughts.
I can't do it myself. I'm even more worried about handing it over to a pervert like Kuroko. It's better to use the shyest and most introverted Haruhi as a shield.
"But, my dear sister, you don't know what kind of person Wright is. In three days and four nights, if he wanted to, he would probably have devoured this Uiharu Shiori to the bone..."
Mise sighed inwardly, but couldn't find a good reason to object. She could only watch helplessly as the matter was settled. She silently prayed, "Good luck, Uiharu Shiori."
And so, the room assignments for the impromptu tour group were settled. Everyone agreed to take a shower and have dinner first. The actual sightseeing would have to wait until tomorrow.
Just then, the spiky-haired guy who had "won the lottery" also arrived at the entrance of the hotel...
Chapter Twenty-Nine: The Fall of the Angels
"What?! It's already fully booked?!" the spiky-haired guy exclaimed upon hearing the news.
"That's right, didn't I tell you? The last three rooms were rented out to a group of five women and one man. What a lucky young man! You should go find another hotel," the landlady said impatiently.
"But...but I made a promise with my family to meet at this hotel. Could you please spare me a room?" the spiky-haired man said, clasping his hands together in a gesture of prayer.
"I see..." The landlady thought for a moment, "Then, did your family book a room? If so, as long as you can prove it, you can check in."
Kamijou couldn't produce any proof, but he was unwilling to leave just like that. In the end, he had no choice but to accept the landlady's extortion and rent a storage room for double the price.
Looking at the room piled high with garbage, reeking of decay—you could even see rats and cockroaches—Kamijou burst into tears. He unconsciously recalled what his boss had said years ago. A sense of resentment welled up inside him: "Why is it that we're both on vacation, but others can stay in guest rooms with five beautiful women, while I have to pay double to stay in a garbage dump?"
He managed to clear a space for his luggage. After that, Kamijou walked dejectedly towards the bathroom.
Then, my third meeting with him began.
"Kamijou is a scumbag?!"
"Wright is a sister complex?!"
After Kamijou finished speaking, he threw a punch without thinking—which I naturally dodged. Then I turned around and threw a punch in return—to slap him in the face.
And just like that, Kamijou collapsed, clutching his rapidly swollen face.
……
Half an hour later, Kamijou was rubbing my back.
"Push harder, you scumbag Kamijou. Didn't you eat enough?" I told him.
"I already told you what happened last time was a misunderstanding, a misunderstanding, you bastard! I have my pride too! Don't keep calling me scum!" Kamijou shouted resentfully, increasing the pressure with each resentful gesture. "And another thing! Why did I have to scrub your back?!"
I rolled my eyes: "Isn't it natural for students to serve their teachers? Kamijou-kun (the teacher's title was given to him by Aleister). Besides, what's wrong with calling you scum?! I saw it clearly last time, Index's clothes were ripped off. If I hadn't arrived first, you would have seen her naked!"
Kamijou started to protest his innocence: "I'm really innocent! Last time it was a misunderstanding, and you even broke my ribs and almost killed me."
“An explanation is just a cover-up, and breaking ribs won’t kill you. I was just giving you a little punishment,” I said.
"Broken ribs won't kill you, but they caused me to get beaten up by two delinquents. The ribs punctured my lung, and I would have really died if I hadn't received timely treatment," Kamijou continued.
