Chapter 1 Felix Heap
London, July 1992.
Inside a building in the West Side Business Center, well-trained white-collar workers were busily engaged in their tasks, the sounds of discussion and the clatter of keyboards filling the air. Meanwhile, in a small, makeshift meeting room, a serious conversation was taking place.
“Felix, are you really determined? Although you’ve been with the company for less than a year, I swear, your talent has been recognized by everyone in the company. If you stay here, believe me, you will achieve great things!” A typical middle-aged British man said, wearing an exquisite business suit and with his slightly curly hair neatly styled.
Sitting opposite him was a handsome young man of about twenty, with particularly striking light blue eyes. At that moment, Felix smiled. "Boss, I've made up my mind."
The middle-aged man stared intently at Felix for a long while, and seeing that he showed no sign of wavering, he sighed helplessly, "Fine, you win."
Felix smiled gently, stood up, picked up his suit jacket hanging on the chair, and shook hands with the middle-aged man who had also stood up. The middle-aged man leaned forward, opened his arms, and hugged him tightly, muttering softly, "Everyone has their own ambitions, right? I think we've lost a promising newcomer."
Felix blinked his light blue eyes. "We'll always meet better people."
Half an hour later, Felix packed his things and walked out of the building. As he approached the door, he looked at the flow of people on the street, his heart filled with anticipation.
……
Felix carried a small suitcase as he walked down the street, occasionally stopping to avoid passing vehicles, while also observing the brands and models of the cars with great interest.
"An antique car!"
His steps were light and quick; the rather long journey did not tire him out, but rather filled him with enthusiasm.
After walking for nearly an hour, he finally returned to his temporary residence, or rather, home, in the city.
The street scene became increasingly familiar, and Felix recognized more than one acquaintance. "Good afternoon, Mrs. Murphy."
Good afternoon, Mr. Haip.
After dealing with some familiar faces, Felix finally stood in front of his own house.
He took out his keys and opened the door.
Step inside and close the door.
"Whoa!" Felix let out a joyful cry, closed his eyes, and spread his arms. At that moment, the ordinary house seemed to come alive.
The suitcase detached from my hand and floated to the cabinet. The cabinet door opened automatically, and the hems of the dozen or so clothes hanging on the upper shelf were slightly lifted so that the suitcase could lie comfortably inside.
Felix automatically took off his suit and white shirt, and his tie twirled off his neck and hung on the horizontal bar of the wardrobe, along with three other exquisite ties of different colors.
The belt around his waist loosened automatically, and as he took a step forward, his trousers also came off smoothly. Felix waved his hand, and a blue silk nightgown flew out and was put on him, with a convenient slipknot.
Felix snapped his fingers lightly, and soft music began to play. He kept his eyes slightly closed, but his hands moved like a conductor, and the kitchen was filled with clinking and clattering sounds. After a while, a cup of fragrant, steaming coffee floated in front of him.
He picked up the cup, took a small sip to the accompaniment of the music, and revealed a smile of utmost satisfaction.
……
Felix Heap is not only a recently laid-off freelancer, but also an adult wizard.
He graduated from Hogwarts—the best and only magic school in England.
Ten years have passed since Felix received the notification letter bearing the magnificent crest from the orphanage. These ten years have not only allowed him to successfully graduate from Hogwarts, but have also transformed him from a little boy into a mature 21-year-old man.
"Time flies, it's been three years since I graduated," Felix said, sitting on the sofa with a touch of nostalgia.
He then muttered in a slightly low voice, "It's been 21 years since I transmigrated."
That's right. Besides being a freelancer and a reclusive wizard, Felix has a deeply hidden secret: he is a time traveler.
God knows how surprised and excited he was when he received the invitation from the magical world, even though he had already planned his life path perfectly!
The world of Harry Potter!
The magical adventure of the three little ones!
Unfortunately, they are not from the same generation at all.
When he entered Hogwarts and foolishly asked Harry Potter for information, he realized that Harry was a full nine years older than him. In other words, they would never even see each other from the time he entered until he graduated.
It must be admitted that Felix is not a "Harry Potter fan" and only has a superficial understanding of the plot.
One knows a little, but understands only a little.
After all, he couldn't predict the future and wouldn't know that he would travel to a real magical world. If he could have known in advance, he would have memorized every single word!
What truly helped him understand the plot was the rise of short videos, such as Douyin.
It was precisely because of this that he was able to vaguely piece together a storyline.
But want to remember the details? That's pure wishful thinking.
Fortunately, what he was truly interested in was magical wonder, a living, tangible world of magic. And he obtained all of that.
evening.
Felix sat at his desk, quietly flipping through a magic book. The ticking of the clock made him restless, and he lost his usual peaceful state of mind.
He was waiting for a letter.
A crucial letter!
Time passed slowly, and finally—a "click-click" sound came from outside the window. An owl stood silently outside the window, gently tapping on the glass.
"It's finally here!" Felix's heart pounded. He slid out a wand, waved it gently, and the window opened automatically, letting the owl fly in.
The owl circled overhead twice, dropped an envelope, and landed on the desk, gently pecking at its feathers.
Felix quickly picked up the envelope. On the back was a wax seal, a shield emblem, and a capital "H" surrounded by an eagle, a lion, a badger, and a snake.
He opened the envelope, took out the letter, which read:
Dear Mr. Felix Heap:
We are pleased to inform you that your application for the Muggle Research position has been accepted. The interview will be held on July 21st at 10:00 AM. Please prepare accordingly.
Note: Please enter the school via Floo Powder (location: Hogwarts Vice-Headmaster's Office). If you wish to use other methods, please inform us in advance.

Felix couldn't help but clench his fist and down the steaming tea on the table in one gulp!
Chapter 2 My First Half of Life
He had been waiting for this day for three years.
Three years is a really long time.
Felix leaned back in his chair, lost in thought, the aroma of tea seemingly carrying his memories back to ten years ago.
At that time, he was an innocent 11-year-old boy (?), full of dreams and aspirations, just like a migrant worker who had just come to the city to make a living.
Felix admitted that he was extremely ambitious; anyone with a mature mind and prior knowledge of part of the plot would have ambitions to achieve great things. Thus, it was only natural that he was sorted into Slytherin House.
But this academy, whose keywords were ambition, bloodline, and honor, was not exactly friendly to him. At that time, less than a year had passed since the fall of the Varian, and his remaining "pure-blood" ideology still held sway. Slytherin, as the stronghold of pure-blood families, was experiencing intense internal turmoil.
At this very moment, a Muggle orphanage student was sorted into Slytherin (although one of his parents might have been a wizard, which was not impossible in the context of the time), and the impact on them was immense—in fact, there were cases like Felix, but they were quite rare.
If Felix were just an ordinary person, or even an ordinary time traveler, his seven years of school life would likely have been filled with words like "school violence," "bullying," and "indifference," and these things could very well affect his entire life.
Unfortunately, Felix is no ordinary person; he is a man (or boy?) with a cheat code—he can forcibly upgrade the power of some of his practical magic spells through repeated practice, exceeding his current level of magical theory.
Of course, it's not an unlimited upgrade.
For example, if his level of magical theory is level 1, he can use repeated, extensive, and even massive amounts of practice to bring a specific magical spell to level 2 or even level 3. The higher the level, the more difficult it becomes.
Although his "golden finger" (advantageous ability to help him succeed) wasn't particularly powerful, it did help him through his initial awkward phase. Looking back on his first three years of school, it can be considered a masterpiece of self-deprecation:
Before enrolling, due to his curiosity about magic and some persecution complex unique to adults, he spent most of his time practicing the two spells he had mastered, namely "Petrify All" and "Armor Protection," aside from trying some simple spells.
One offensive and one defensive stance aligns with his moderate mindset when allocating skill points in a game in his previous life.
Comparatively, Petrify is simpler. After thousands of tedious spellcasting practices, Felix forcibly leveled it up to level 2, while Armored Protection was only barely at level 1.
This is nothing short of a miracle for someone whose theoretical level is almost zero! The magical world should award him a Merlin badge.
With his Level 2 petrification ability, Felix defeated all the first-year Slytherin students in his first week of school, and even knocked down a second-year boy who had cast a curse on him, leaving him hanging in the bathroom overnight in the cold wind.
This move had a huge impact, giving Snape, who had just become the youngest head of Slytherin House in history, a major headache.
Snape had to contend with external pressure from other Slytherin parents while simultaneously dealing with extremely complex internal conflicts within the house. To be fair, this was a severe test of Professor Snape's management skills, especially considering he was still a newcomer.
What troubled Snape even more was what followed: Felix overturned the entire second-year wizarding class at the end of the first year, leaving many seats empty at that year's House Cup party.
As a result, Felix was forced to stay at school for mandatory labor throughout the holiday—which was exactly what he wanted.
Otherwise, he suspected that some parents would come to his door and curse him!
In the context of that time, this was not a mere fantasy.
By the time they reached their second year, Felix, under Snape's pressure, had toned it down considerably. Instead of sending Slytherin students to the infirmary on a large scale, he sent them one by one.
By the end of his third year, Felix had become Slytherin's de facto strongest student, the uncrowned king. The effect was significant; no one in the entire house dared to disrespect him. Of course, some outside the school still made boastful remarks, threatening to teach him a lesson while he hid inside.
Yes, Felix spent three whole years at school, at most going to Diagon Alley to buy textbooks; he never went anywhere else.
A pathetic school life...
Of course, every story has a twist, and Felix's twist happened in fourth grade.
During his fourth-year summer break, Felix finally left school and, in one holiday, defeated seven adult wizards who tried to attack him, sending them to Azkaban.
This was big news at the time, but even bigger news was yet to come. At Felix's fifth-year entrance dinner, he challenged Shafik, one of the 28 Holy Pureblood Families, to a Pureblood Family Duel.
Felix can still vividly recall the amusing expressions on Professor Snape's face—his mouth agape and Dumbledore's wide-eyed stare!
Lost in his memories, Felix gave a childlike smile.
