"Looks like we're going to have to finish this puzzle. Hopefully there aren't any hidden mechanisms or anything."

As they talked, the two began to put together the jigsaw puzzle. The puzzle wasn't difficult, but it was too tall. Luckily, Paimon was there, otherwise Wu Qiu really wouldn't know how to put the puzzle pieces into the picture frame.

"Hey, over there, that's a nose, no, that's a beard, not hair. Eyeballs, those are upside down! And the mouth? Paimon, where did you put the mouth?"

Below, Wu Qiu continued to give her opinion. This time, Paimon didn't refute Wu Qiu, because she really was always getting it wrong.

"This drawing is so strange! Can it really be pieced together to form a person?"

After grumbling for a moment, Paimon placed the last piece of the painting. As the last piece was placed, the entire painting flashed.

Paimon quickly retreated. But from Wu Qiu's perspective, the painting depicted a handsome middle-aged man.

The man was very handsome, middle-aged, with short hair, and wearing a crown. He also seemed to be wearing a scarf around his neck.

"Is this what the princess's man looks like? But once you know she's a woman, it's easy to tell she's a very beautiful girl."

Paimon chuckled, his hands behind his back. Wu Qiu, however, frowned, because the door hadn't opened; after the painting flashed briefly, there was no further movement.

Why isn't the door open? Did something go wrong?

Paimon also noticed this. Wu Qiu, on the other hand, remained silent, gazing thoughtfully at the painting.

Suddenly, as if he had thought of something, Wu Qiu stepped forward and grabbed the picture frame with a slight force.

Click! The picture frame spun. Wu Qiu smiled knowingly, finally understanding, and without thinking, began to apply force.

Under his power, the entire painting began to rotate, completing a full circle. When Wu Qiu returned to his original position, the person on the painting frame had changed.

The man has become a woman. The crown has become her neck, and the scarf has become her hair. Although the change is not drastic and looks a bit strange, it must be said that viewed from the opposite perspective, the painting looks more like a woman.

"Having been a man for forty years, I still yearn for the life of a woman. Even as time changes, can it still conceal her heart?"

Wu Qiu spoke softly. And just as his voice fell, the door in front of him finally opened.

Chapter 30: This luck is unbelievable!

The gate opened. Wu Qiu didn't know what was inside, but he figured there shouldn't be any ruin guardians or monsters.

After all, Hidden Stone Kingdom should only be a small country, so it wouldn't be able to house those kinds of creatures in a tomb.

But the mechanism must be careful; after all, whoosh! ………………

A flash of light streaked through the air, and Wu Qiu froze, "W-wh-what's going on?"

"If I didn't see wrong, did an arrow fly past my neck?"

Just now, the gate had just opened. Then something I don't know went past Wu Qiu's neck.

"I couldn't see it clearly, it was too fast. Could it be that we were just imagining things because we were too nervous?"

Paimon shrugged. But soon, a whooshing sound came from inside the door.

I grabbed Paimon and yelled, "You son of a bitch! Run the hell out of here!"

A dozen or so sharp arrows flew past in a flash. Luckily, Wu Qiu reacted quickly; otherwise, given the situation, he would definitely be riddled with holes.

Even after the attack landed, Wu Qiu and Paimon didn't dare to go over. They cautiously circled around to the main entrance.

"It seems to be alright, Paimon, go and check on things."

Wu Qiu pushed Paimon. Paimon put his hands on his hips and said, "Why am I being asked to go?"

Wu Qiu curled her lip, "What a coward."

He cautiously peeked out, then immediately pulled back in. Only after hearing no sound of an attack did Wu Qiu slowly inch his way out.

"Gurgle~"

Standing at the door, Wu Qiu mustered her courage and took a step inside. After a few steps, she realized there was nothing wrong, which boosted her confidence a bit.

"See, everything's alright."

Turning back, Wu Qiu gave Paimon a smug smile. Seeing that Wu Qiu was alright, Paimon cautiously flew in.

But as soon as she entered, the door behind her slammed shut, plunging the entire space into darkness.

"Whoa!!!"

Paimon, terrified, hid behind Wu Qiu. Wu Qiu was also scared and yelled, "Holy shit!"

Then he grabbed Paimon and covered his face. Then the two of them heard a sound like a stone door moving.

Looking up, the first thing they saw was the torches all around them. They didn't know when they had all been lit, and it was only then that Wu Qiu and the others realized that they were in a passageway.

The passageway was very long, with no end in sight. But it was very narrow, probably only wide enough for two people to walk side by side at the same time.

But that's not the main point. The main point is above the passageway, above the gate they came in through. There's now a door there, and from inside, a round stone large enough to cover the entire passageway is slowly being pushed out.

"I, fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck!!!! Huge huge huge huge rock!!!!!"

Paimon was also startled, but she still tried to remain calm and said, "Don't worry, we're not going downhill here, it can't possibly roll this way."

But no sooner had she finished speaking than the stone bounced as if it had been struck by a marble, leaping and hurtling towards us.

"what!!!!!!!"

With a scream, I turned and ran. If there's one good thing about people who are afraid of death, it's that they can unleash extraordinary strength in dire situations.

Take Wu Qiu for example. He runs incredibly fast, his legs practically fly. At that speed, I reckon he could fly by stepping on his right foot with his left.

Paimon's flight speed couldn't keep up, so he simply grabbed Wu Qiu's hair and said, "Little Qiu! Take me with you."

"Go to hell! Don't you dare pull my hair!"

Wu Qiu was in so much pain that tears streamed down her face. Paimon quickly changed his actions from pulling her hair to hugging her.

"Cough cough! Cough!!!!!! I won't let you pull my hair! And don't strangle me either! I can't breathe... anymore."

Wu Qiu's face turned pale. Realizing the problem, Paimon changed his stance again.

This time, she hugged Wu Qiu's head and sat on his shoulders. "I'm sorry, I was too scared and didn't think much about it."

Wu Qiu didn't have time to argue with him; the stone was about to catch up. Wu Qiu was cursing under his breath.

This completely defies common sense in physics! This is a plane, a plane, shouldn't it be getting slower and slower? What's going on? Not only is it not getting slower, it's getting faster and faster!

Fortunately, the road ahead was almost over. There was a path on the left, and Wu Qiu seized the opportunity, gritted his teeth, and rammed himself into the wall.

It hurt a lot, but Wu Qiu leaned against the wall, lay on her side, and turned the corner as fast as she could.

Just as Wu Qiu landed, a deafening boom echoed behind him. Turning around, dust billowed, and the boulder was gone; it had likely crashed through a wall and continued forward, though Wu Qiu had no idea how far it had gone.

"That was close, I almost lost my life."

Paimon patted his chest. Wu Qiu grabbed her and said, "You have the nerve to say that! If you hadn't pinched me, would I be in such a sorry state?"

Paimon broke free from Wu Qiu and said with dissatisfaction, "It's all your fault for running away by yourself. You didn't even know to take me with you."

"How the hell was I supposed to know you couldn't fly as fast as I could run! If I had known, I wouldn't have... *snap* it!"

Suddenly, Wu Qiu stopped, cold sweat instantly pouring down his back. He stiffly looked down and saw the floor tile he had stepped on, and of course, the rows of crossbow bolts that had appeared out of nowhere…

"what!!!!!!"

Without looking any further, Wu Qiu picked up Paimon and ran in any direction. With crossbow bolts right behind him, Wu Qiu could only rely on his skillful movement and a sudden stroke of incredible luck to find a way out of the rain of arrows and successfully escape.

"Ha~ I'm exhausted, what is this, Kaba!"

Just rescued, panting and leaning against the wall, Wu Qiu was about to speak when that familiar voice came again.

When Wu Qiu looked up and saw the wall bricks she had pressed into, and the various knives, axes, clubs, and forks that kept popping out, she almost cried.

"Oh no!!!!"

Another escape ensued. When they stopped again, before Wu Qiu could do anything, Paimon hurriedly shouted, "Don't move! Don't move!"

Wu Qiu hurriedly raised his hand, "I won't move, I won't move."

He was scared. Today was poisonous, what was wrong with his luck? If things had gone through so many traps, he would have died long ago.

If you're lucky, these mechanisms are triggered by themselves; otherwise, even farting could cause trouble.

Seeing that he hadn't moved and nothing had happened, Wu Qiu finally breathed a sigh of relief. Paimon also breathed a sigh of relief, and his tense body relaxed a little.

But Paimon didn't realize her current height. As she relaxed, she unconsciously looked up.

Then her head hit the ceiling of the hallway, followed by that thud.

Wu Qiu and Paimon never imagined that someone would put the mechanism's button on the ceiling. What happened? Did they hold the blueprints upside down during installation? Or did they mistake the ceiling for the floor?

Then, things got really strange. Wu Qiu and Paimon stayed on this floor for almost an hour.

Do you know what a miracle is? The miracle is that Wu Qiu and Paimon perfectly triggered all the mechanisms. Some of the mechanisms seemed to be hidden, as if they didn't want anyone to trigger them.

Then, miraculously, Wu Qiu and Paimon stepped on it, and it was one that didn't leak.

Then, even more miraculously, neither of them died. Not only did they survive, but apart from being exhausted like dogs, they weren't injured at all.

Every encounter was fraught with danger, but Wu Qiu and Paimon were used to it. They felt like the protagonists of a novel, the kind of people who just couldn't die no matter what.

After this series of events, Wu Qiu and Paimon initially deduced that this place must have been a maze.

You're probably wondering, "This guy's been here for an hour and it took him so long to realize it was a maze? And he's even making guesses."

You must have ignored the phrase "just now." That's why Wu Qiu and Paimon said that what happened just now might have been a maze.

The reason is simple: have you ever seen the building after it was demolished by explosives? Have you ever seen what it looked like after the demolition?

Now, after those two guys ransacked the maze, it's almost like an explosion site. Nothing's left except the central entrance to the second level.

I reckon the people who created this maze never imagined that someone could dismantle it by using one of their own mechanisms.

Even Wu Qiu himself never expected that he would possess the legendary talent of Ha Lao Er, the demolition team leader.

The only difference is that Ha Lao Er demolishes houses, while I demolish graves.

Chapter 31: 1+1=?

"Have we passed the first hurdle?"

Paimengfei, standing beside Wu Qiu, asked somewhat uncertainly. Right in front of them was the entrance to the second level, just a step away.

Wu Qiu wasn't sure either; he didn't know if this so-called second entrance was also a trap. But he wasn't afraid anymore; he was numb. He'd been through so many traps before, what's one more?

With Paimon by his side, the two climbed onto the stone platform in front of them. In the center of the platform was a mechanism, which must have been the activation button.

They exchanged a glance, and seeing the determination in each other's eyes, Wu Qiu pressed the mechanism hard. The familiar yet chilling sound of the mechanism rang out, and the entire platform shook.
