Hermione rolled her eyes. "Simply put, as long as we use something that seriously interferes with the judgment of standards for testing, we can clearly find out who has mastered the skill of Occlumency."
“But we don’t know any memory-based spells. You said they’re hard to master.”
Harry was also confused.
“Potions.” Hermione smiled confidently. “We just need to use potions. Although Snape wasn’t entirely right, a good potion can definitely achieve the effect we want, and even give us more surprises.”
"What kind of potion?"
“Aphrodisiac.” Hermione blushed slightly, but quickly composed herself. “Of course, it’s a variant of aphrodisiac, often used as a perfume variant.”
"As you know, love potions remind people of their favorite flavors. By slightly altering the potion-making recipe, you can create a less stimulating flavor that still tastes good..." Hermione explained to her two friends.
“Stop, Hermione,” Harry said weakly. “But we don’t have any love potion, let alone its variants.”
“I can cook it. The ingredients aren’t hard to come by. I know someone who sells this.”
"Who would sell contraband in a castle?"
"That's none of your concern," Hermione interrupted the question impatiently. "But my slightly modified prescription might be a bit too irritating, so you two should be careful when using it, as it could cause other disturbances."
-
"A difficult choice."
Lockhart was selecting from the student roster. Although he had originally wanted to drag his colleague William into the scapegoat, he ultimately gave up on the idea, considering William's quick thinking in launching a sneak attack and his good fortune in finding the Ravenclaw tiara.
"Because of something that reminded him of, Ginny Weasley, the former murderer and victim who sought advice from Professor Lockhart, the famous Harry Potter, Hermione Granger who was always at the top of her class..."
Who should we choose?
It makes perfect sense that these people went to the professor for help, and the professor wouldn't be so suspicious. It also makes perfect sense that in a fit of rage, they took down three professors.
Ultimately, Lockhart reluctantly chose Harry.
"Maybe it'll even make the news: The savior was bewitched and attacked the professor—poor Professor Lockhart was caught completely off guard and ambushed." He happily considered the headline.
"It sounds much better than being defeated by first or second graders."
'So, it's settled then. Harry Potter found Dumbledore's lost book, opened Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets, and was tricked into attacking the professor.'
"What should we do with the basilisk?"
“We can’t kill him. We’ll erase Harry’s memories and make it look like he failed the test and had his memories wiped. That makes sense.” Lockhart added details, gradually perfecting the story. “His two friends noticed something was wrong with Harry and tried to stop him, but Harry ambushed them and erased their memories. That way, no one would know if Harry was acting strangely.”
"Here's another investigation report, secretly placed in the drawer. It details Professor Lockhart's investigation into the locked room—it was only half-written and left in the drawer. Poor Professor Lockhart, who was ambushed, only discovered the previous investigation report when he was searching his own drawer."
"The new book has a catchy tune!"
"Professor Lockhart, who had forgotten everything after the attack, pieced together a perfect locked-room murder case based on his memories and deductions!"
"Hogwarts, the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter, and Professor Lockhart—a perfect combination! A brilliant idea!"
"Lockhart, you're destined to be a great man!"
He even applauded himself.
This series of perfect plans came from his hand, and the most crucial part was achieved through his magic!
"By the way, when attacking yourself, you can do something a little trick to erase the previous sneak attacks and only leave a record in a way that you know. That way, even if someone questions it, you can use your memory loss to deny it!"
They've done the whitewashing all at once, so there's absolutely no need to worry about any slip-ups!
Lockhart, you are truly a great man!

"Hermione, are you sure you're okay?"
"no problem!"
Hermione said firmly that the three of them were currently in the House of Requirement, where a variant of the love potion was simmering over the fire nearby, looking quite beautiful.
Yes, the twins were also brought in, so all three of them also learned about the location.
"Hermione, are you sure everything's okay?"
Fred glanced at the potion in the pot, a little distrustful, and asked again.
“I’m sure,” Hermione repeated, her face radiating confidence.
“Okay,” George shook his head, “you didn’t bring Ginny in, did you?”
“No, don’t worry, use it without worry. Ginny is only in first grade; we won’t let her get involved in something like this,” Hermione assured her again. “Think about it, losing a month’s worth of memories at once—wouldn’t you want revenge if this kind of prank happened to you?”
"Actually, it's not bad. At least if I fail the exam, I can tell my mom without worry..."
George spoke softly, but his hands didn't stop moving as he took out the prepared container. "Is it just sprayed on the body?"
“Yes, but it has to be hot,” Hermione explained. “The fire can’t be turned off. The potion only works for two hours after it’s been heated, so the four of you need to meet as many people as possible during that time to find students or professors who are resistant to this potion.”
"professor?"
Ron hesitated for a moment.
“That’s much more interesting.” George replied without turning his head, drawing out a potion with his wand, putting it into a bottle, and carefully spraying it on himself. Fred followed suit, spraying it on himself as well.
“See you here again in two hours.” Fred waved his hand. “If we do it again, we’ll be in solitary confinement, and we’re not done with that yet…”
"You two, hurry up too," Hermione urged Harry and the others, then carefully examined the potion.
"Write down the names of those who show obvious resistance or suspicion," she instructed the two again, then sent them out.
"There shouldn't be any problem. Aphrodisiacs are sold more among girls than I realize. The school doesn't check for them strictly. Although I increased the dosage, it should be fine."
Who could it be? A student or a professor? Why did he steal their memories?
Chapter 208 All in One Go
"What are you two doing, sneaking around like that?"
William had just flipped through a book about basilisks when he saw the twins strolling around the library—he wasn't exaggerating, but the two boys didn't look like they were reading; their eyes were like thieves, wandering around everywhere.
Considering this was a library, William lowered his voice slightly, but still managed to stop the two people who were shopping together.
The two men exchanged glances and walked over obediently. Their confinement was still in William's hands, and although they felt a little guilty, they still had to put on a brave face.
"What prank are you planning now?" William raised an eyebrow. "What, is being confined all semester not enough? Planning to continue next semester?"
"Professor, please don't slander us. We've been very well-behaved since the beginning of this semester. Last time, it wasn't entirely our fault!"
The two men cried out in unison that they were innocent, but the more they did so, the more suspicious William became—Weasley should be under close surveillance at this school. So many years into the semester, there hasn't been a single major incident that Weasley hasn't been involved in!
William looked them over, from head to toe, trying to find something amiss.
"Why are you standing so far away? Come closer."
The two of them approached shyly, and as soon as they got close, a rich chocolate aroma wafted over.
Something's not right!
William immediately realized what was happening and began to carefully examine the details.
"Come out with me!"
William's face darkened instantly, and his tone became sterner than ever before.
The two quails, startled by William's sudden change of attitude, obediently left the library and went to the empty classroom next door.
"Huff...huff..." William gasped for breath, and after several attempts to raise his hand, he finally lowered it.
"Whose idea was this?" His sharp, knife-like gaze swept across their faces, forcing the two audacious men to lower their heads.
"Why are you so quiet?"
William took a step forward, forcing the twins to take two steps back to regain their balance. "Speak up! Who did this?"
The two didn't even dare to make a joke anymore; they never imagined that the professor, who would even smile and talk while in solitary confinement, could be so fierce.
"Ourselves..."
"Snapped!"
George was interrupted by a loud crash before he could finish his sentence. A table was smashed to pieces by William's Barrier Charm. "If you lie again, you two can get out of Hogwarts."
The twins felt their hands and feet go cold as the icy gaze swept over them.
"Glug..."
A soft swallowing sound followed by a dry reply, "Hermione, it's Hermione..."
After giving this answer, George finally felt the chill slowly dissipate.
"Where is she?"
"The Room of Requirement, the place where we caught Ginny last time," Fred answered quickly. Although he didn't know what had happened, this was the first time he had ever seen the professor so angry.
“We’ll settle things between you two later,” William glared at the two bastards. “Follow me and give me directions.”
He was genuinely angry; these two guys actually dared to spray themselves with aphrodisiacs!
This potion is notorious in Azkaban; prisoners who use it never receive a light sentence!
If it weren't Hermione who brewed the love potion, he would have expelled the student today!
'The Ministry of Magic's laws are a pile of crap! Witches brewing and using such dangerous potions isn't a crime!' He walked ahead, even cursing the Ministry of Magic staff, 'A bunch of trolls would be smarter than them!'
'George, why do you think the professor is so angry?'
Behind William, the twins exchanged helpless glances.
"We've been screwed over by Hermione!" George glanced back. "Obviously, we've been tricked by that so-called love potion perfume. Think about that guy who got fired two years ago for using love potions!"
"Perfume, not real medicine!" Fred said with a helpless expression.
"Why are you walking so slowly!" William stopped and glared at the two behind him.
"Yes, Professor!"
'If I keep you locked up tonight and you don't realize that using aphrodisiacs is illegal, I won't even be setting exam papers anymore!'
William thought through gritted teeth.
-
"Keep the temperature, and perhaps add something else to make the flavor more subtle."
