Just then, Cowd suddenly asked, "Ada, do you think I can defeat Otsutsuki Mashiro if I remove the limiter?"
Upon hearing Mashiro's name, Ada instantly snapped out of her daze, shut down her Clairvoyance, and after a moment of serious thought, replied: "Theoretically, with your limiter removed, you should be able to surpass Jigen. Compared to Mashiro, you might have a chance to win, but if you don't remove your limiter, you can probably only last three minutes."
“She’s really strong. Do you know what abilities she has?” Codd asked seriously.
Abilities? Time ninjutsu, chakra control, unseen attacks, that's about it. "For some reason, Ada subconsciously didn't tell Kaud everything."
“Time manipulation? It seems I need to study this carefully,” Kaud said. His claw marks were, in a sense, spatial divine magic, so he knew very well that anything involving time and space would be extremely troublesome.
"Speaking of Mashiro, what is she doing now?" Ada murmured curiously.
Then he activated his clairvoyance and began observing Mashiro. At this moment, he was on the Hokage Rock.
Mashiro was lying leisurely in a hammock.
While seemingly resting with his eyes closed, shadows were actually spreading out and converging one after another.
She was using the Shadow Legion to locate the Ten-Tails larvae. "Who!" Mashiro suddenly opened her eyes.
But nothing was found. "Is it an illusion?" Mashiro muttered to herself.
But her subconscious told her that something was definitely watching her.
Chapter 268: Another Knight
Ada had used her Clairvoyance to observe Mashiro more than once, including during Mashiro's battle with Isshiki, which Ada had watched the entire time. However, because Mashiro and Isshiki were focused on each other at the time, they didn't notice Ada's spying. Now, Mashiro didn't need to concentrate as much, so she gradually began to notice Ada's covert observation. "She noticed? That shouldn't be the case," Ada muttered to herself as she closed Clairvoyance.
"So, how long are you planning to stay here?" Bagu finally couldn't help but ask.
“Don’t worry about these trivial things. Here, there’s no more drink.” Ada said calmly, looking at Bagu.
"Trying to treat people like slaves, you wretched woman," Bagu thought angrily. But he still obediently handed Ada a bottle of wine.
“However, there are many armed soldiers in this base. Leave the rest to me; you'd better leave now,” Bagu continued. “That’s no problem. No one can touch me,” Ada said softly, picking up her glass.
That being said, wasting time here won't help; if you want Kawaki, you have to take action. "With that, Bagu uncorked the bottle and poured the wine into Ida's glass.
“No rush, I’m keeping an eye on Kawaki and the others, and besides, all five great ninja villages are searching for Kaud’s whereabouts,” Ada said calmly. “What do you want to do?” Kaud asked.
“Take your time, there will always be opportunities. With my keen eye here, how could we possibly miss a chance?” Ada looked at Cowd and said softly.
"Oh dear, if my restrictions could be lifted sooner, I could resolve these matters in no time. The Five Great Nations are nothing but a bunch of grunts, aside from that Otsutsuki. Even if it were Otsutsuki Mashiro, we might be able to take him down if we join forces," Kaud said with a smile.
Ada remained noncommittal, stating, "Let me make it clear first, don't have too high expectations for my fighting abilities. I dislike barbaric behavior, and I'm afraid of pain."
"Oh, I see. She's so delicate," Codd said with concern.
“So we're in the same boat. I'll be your eyes and ears, and in return, you'll be my knight in shining armor,” Ada said softly.
"A knight? That sounds good, but what if Kawaki wants to kill you when you're alone?" Cowder nodded, then asked. "What kind of question is that? I don't like it," Ada said, somewhat disgruntled.
“Mashiro Otsutsuki is an Otsutsuki, as are Kawaki and Boruto. Your charm is ineffective against them, so there’s a possibility of something going wrong. If that happens, I’ll be in a lot of trouble,” Cowd explained.
“That’s true. To be honest, I didn’t want it to be like this. Come with me, Cowd, I’ll take you to see another knight.” Having made up her mind, Ada spoke.
After saying that, Ada led Kaud in another direction deeper into the base, and Bagu followed. A moment later, the three arrived at a hibernation pod identical to the one where Ada had been imprisoned before.
"What kind of person was the other knight?" Kaud asked curiously, looking at the hibernation pod before him. "Let me put it this way, he's the only one besides the Otsutsuki who has ever killed me," Ada said calmly. Hearing this, Kaud glanced at Ada in surprise.
“I said, let’s just forget about it, this guy, only this guy.” Bagu reluctantly said the password to open the hibernation pod. “Do as I say, hurry up.” Ada said softly.
A moment later. "Beep~"
A large amount of smoke billowed out, and the hibernation pod was opened.
Kaud looked intently into the hibernation pod. The smoke cleared, revealing it to be empty. "Nobody here?" Kaud asked, somewhat puzzled.
"That kid's into collecting antiques," Ida muttered to herself with a hint of helplessness. "Hey!"
A child's voice rang out, and then a boy with light green hair wearing a red hooded jacket suddenly pounced on Calder's back. "Who are you? My sister's new boyfriend?" Dimon shouted.
"When did this kid appear?" Cowd was incredibly surprised; he hadn't noticed at all.
"Caud, don't attack him," Ada warned before anyone could launch an attack. Hearing this, Caud paused, then stopped moving.
“Sister, this thing is actually quite easy to ride.” Dimon said to Ida happily, swaying his body. “Get down, Dimon. You promised me you wouldn’t jump on people you just met,” Ida said softly.
"Are you truly sincere towards my sister? If you hurt her, I'll kill you." Dimon didn't respond, but threatened Calder with his head down.
“He’s just my friend, and he’s definitely not my type,” Ada said calmly. “That hurts,” Cowder said sadly.
“Ha, so that’s not it.” Dimon laughed, mockingly.
Just then, a smoke grenade was thrown, instantly filling the air with smoke, and then a dozen fully armed soldiers rushed over. "Don't come any closer, you'll be killed!" Bagu shouted urgently upon seeing this.
"Bagu, you have ten seconds. If you don't run, you'll be turned into a honeycomb briquette. The commander has given orders that any cyborgs who leave the capsule must be killed on the spot." The leading soldier said to Bagu.
They were Boro's men, steadfastly carrying out his orders and absolutely forbidding Ada and Dimon from leaving their hibernation pods.
"Tch, we've been found out. What a nuisance," Cowd said impatiently. "You don't need to do anything. Perfect timing, you can watch closely," Ida said softly.
“The countdown is a complete waste of time. I'd say just wipe them all out in one fell swoop,” a soldier said, raising his laser cannon and launching an attack. “!”
The soldier's head exploded instantly, and he collapsed to the ground. "What?!"
The other soldiers all looked puzzled and surprised.
Cowder looked at the soldier lying on the ground, then at Ida, as if he had found something. Dimon, on the other hand, had a smile on his face.
"Damn it!" Another soldier launched an attack, raising his axe to chop at the group.
The next second, the axe vanished into thin air and then chopped into the soldier's head. "Hehe, bastard!" Dimon's laughter deepened.
"W-what's going on?!" The remaining soldiers were dumbfounded. Several soldiers had already started to scatter and run away, leaving only two soldiers still in place.
Dimon jumped off Cowd's back and kicked a soldier, who instantly fell to the ground.
“You brat!” Another soldier drew his katana and tried to attack, but his body was instantly split in two. “Was he deflecting his opponent’s attack?” Cowd asked.
“Once an opponent harbors murderous intent, the result will be reflected immediately onto the person who harbored the intent. The greater the murderous intent, the stronger the reflection. You must be careful, Codd,” Ada replied.
“This is tricky,” Codd said seriously. “Yeah!”
Dimon excitedly gave Ida a "yes" sign.
"Let me formally introduce him. He is my other knight, and also my younger brother, Dimon," Ada said softly. Seeing this, Bagu instantly became frightened and tried to sneak away.
But Dimon noticed, jumped up instantly, tackled him to the ground, and punched Bagu in the stomach.
"Where are you sneaking off to, you old geezer, Bagu? It's been so long, and you're being so cold," Dimon said, displeased.
Ada, Dimon, and even Cowd and Kawaki were all brought to Shell and raised there from a very young age, and those responsible for taking care of them...
That was Bagu.
"Damn it, that's why I didn't want to release this guy," Bagu thought to himself with dissatisfaction.
"Phew!" "Nani?"
Dimon looked back.
“It looks like it started automatically, unrelated to the user’s consciousness,” Cowd said, four claw marks spreading across his body.
Just now, while Dimon was disciplining Bagu, Kaud suddenly unleashed a claw attack on Dimon's back, but the claws bounced back onto Kaud himself. "Hey, Kaud, you bastard, what do you mean by this?" Dimon said, clearly annoyed.
"This is my ability to move freely between claw marks." As he spoke, Kaud's hand emerged from the claw marks on the ground, grabbed Bagu, and instantly pulled him into the claw marks, bringing him to Kaud's side.
“You can also bring other people to me like this, but only one at a time. Demonstration is more intuitive than verbal explanation,” Codd continued.
Ada: I have clairvoyance and charm.
Dimon: I have murderous intent. Reflexes. Calder: I have claw marks.
Mashiro: Go ahead and tell me, I'm listening.
Chapter 269: Gray
"That ability is so cool, I love it!" Dimon said excitedly upon hearing this.
“Thank you for the compliment. If it’s convenient, could you tell me more about your ability mechanics?” Cowd asked. “Hmm? You…” Dimon was about to say something when Ida interrupted him.
“Dimon, shh, are you hesitant? We can’t reveal our hand so easily,” Ida whispered, putting her index finger to her lips. “Oh dear, I really am untrustworthy,” Calder said with a hint of helplessness upon hearing Ida’s words.
“Didn’t I already explain it to you? Dimon can deflect other people’s attacks. That’s enough for you, at least for now,” Ada said calmly.
"You really don't play by the rules," Kao De said in a rather calm tone.
“I hope you’re not upset, Codd. We’ve only just met, and building trust takes time. Now is not the time to lay all our cards on the table,” Ada said softly as she walked silently behind Dimon.
“With your clairvoyance and charm, I certainly wouldn’t say that knowing these things means I know everything about you, but you don’t have any other abilities hidden, do you?” Kaud asked seriously.
"Guess?" Ada didn't answer, but calmly asked in return. Meanwhile, in Konoha, in Mashiro's room...
Now it seems that thing is not in the ninja world, at least not now. That makes sense. According to Isshiki's style of doing things, he must have hidden the Ten-Tails larva in a place that only Ootenki can reach, which is... "Muttering to himself, Mashiro gradually found a direction in his mind.
"Haven't found it yet? Mashiro, do you need me to come with you tomorrow?" Hikari spoke softly beside Mashiro. She didn't know about the Ten-Tails' larvae, only that Mashiro was currently searching for something extremely important.
"No need, I already know where it is. Go to sleep early, Hikaru." Mashiro smiled, gently stroking Hikaru's hair, and said.
"Mmm." Hikaru nodded, snuggled closer to Mashiro, and then closed her eyes. After a moment, Mashiro glanced thoughtfully at the ceiling panel, then also closed her eyes.
Meanwhile, in Ada's room at the base in the Snow Country, Ada put away her Clairvoyance.
After returning to her room, washing up, and changing into her pajamas, Ada began using her clairvoyance. After hesitating for a while, she started observing Mashiro until Mashiro closed her eyes and went to sleep.
Ida didn't like watching television. To her, the actors' poor acting or the unrealistic scripts were nothing compared to the lives of others that she could see.
So before going to sleep, she likes to observe what other people are doing or look at their past.
"Going to bed so early? I thought I'd see something interesting," Ada muttered to herself, as the scenes she had witnessed earlier flooded back into her mind.
Ada's face flushed slightly.
Everyone Ada encountered, whether they were the cyborg soldiers guarding her or members of the "Zero" organization, were all ascetics influenced by Shiki, and these were the very people she usually observed, so she had never seen such a scene before.
"Otsutsuki Mashiro, what an interesting person," Ada murmured to herself. She remembered that the entire Otsutsuki clan were ascetics, so why...?
With that thought in mind, Ada activated her clairvoyance once more. This time, she planned to look into Mashiro's past.
As the blue light in her eyes shone, Mashiro's past began to unfold before Ada. "Auntie? How could this be?" Ada suddenly asked in confusion.
In her search for Mashiro's past, she only reached the time when Mashiro appeared in Konoha. Beyond that, she encountered enormous resistance and could not continue her search.
“She doesn’t seem to have a past? No, her past was before I was born, which means she seems to have traveled back from the past,” Ada said, frowning.
Ida's clairvoyance allows her to see anyone's present and the past fifteen years, because she cannot see what happened before she was born.
But when facing Makoto, she could only see these few months, which could only mean that Makoto's past was fifteen years ago. "She's getting more and more mysterious," Ada murmured.
