"I saw everything. It's such a pity about the Byakugan Princess. You suffered such a great loss, but you're still willing to stand up for that planet, which is admirable. However, regarding the betrayal of that clan, you might want to make some preparations for that woman's son, but it's just a temporary measure," Pu Shi said sarcastically. (The Byakugan Princess refers to Hinata; Toneri once wanted to marry Hinata.)
"You talk as if you know everything. You've never even been near that planet before, so what do you know?" With that, Sheren instantly rushed towards Pu Shi.
"Yes, I don't know, but that's precisely why we were sent here." A red lightning bolt struck, and Pu Shi instantly appeared in front of his roommate. "Us?" his roommate asked, puzzled.
"In short, we don't mind using force." Suddenly, a red fishing line appeared in Pu Shi's hand, connecting to Sheren's back. Immediately afterward, Sheren's body began to freeze.
"Time freezes?" Sheren displayed Pu Shi's ability.
Pu Shi took a step back and said, "After all, I wasn't allowed to kill my own kind. Don't worry, you can enjoy yourself in Dragon Palace for ten thousand years. I hope there will be a great harvest next."
Pu Shi looked towards the Ninja World planet, then flew away.
"No, Boruto's current abilities aren't enough, Boruto..." Toneri cried out, turning into a gray stone statue.
At that moment, in the Hokage's office, Naruto was working on a mountain of documents with Shikamaru's help. Just then, Kata Tono pushed open the door and walked in.
"Oh, it's Katasuke. What's up?" Naruto asked with a smile when he saw Katasuke.
"Well, as the leader of the Science Ninja Tools Team, I have something I'd like to ask the Seventh Hokage," Katasuke said. "What?" Naruto asked softly.
“I hope to be granted permission to use our scientific ninja tools during this Chunin Exams.” As he spoke, Katasuke pulled back his sleeve, revealing a strange mechanical wristband.
“Speaking of which, I saw in the report that the research on scientific ninja tools has yielded significant results recently,” Shikamaru said. “Yes, they are already usable in actual combat,” Katasuke said excitedly, raising his wrist guard.
Then, using his wristband, he unleashed a Wind Release ninjutsu, instantly sending the documents fluttering in the wind. "The wind, ah, it's quite interesting," Shikamaru murmured.
"Hahaha, right? As long as you change your ammunition, you can use ninjutsu freely." Katasuke said smugly, holding up a scroll about the size of a thumb. "I see." Looking at the scroll in Katasuke's hand, Shikamaru instantly understood what he meant.
“Not only can it free genin from cruel training, but it can also broaden their ninjutsu range. What do you think? As a performance for the audience, it might be quite eye-catching,” Katasuke said with a smile.
“Thank you, Katasuke, but no, the Chunin Exams aren’t a performance; they’re for training ninjas,” Naruto said calmly. “Then we should use them even more. Scientific ninja tools were developed specifically for future ninjas,” Katasuke argued.
“Cheating in a test that assesses ability—isn’t that harming the test takers?” Naruto said seriously. “You’re right,” Shikamaru nodded, agreeing with Naruto.
"Oh, right, another idea is that, like before the Sixth Hokage, only those who thoroughly master and copy ninjutsu can be considered excellent ninjas." Katasuke was still trying to persuade Naruto.
"If it originates from its own power, then of course it's correct. But the purpose of this exam is simply to test the strength that the candidates have developed so far." Naruto still insisted on his idea.
"I see. Well then, goodbye." Katasuke said, quite disappointed.
"Was I too ruthless?" Naruto asked Shikamaru after Katasuke left.
“Don’t mind it, you’re right,” Shikamaru said. “Is that so?” Naruto muttered to himself.
After leaving the Hokage Building, Katasuke arrived at the Scientific Suspect Laboratory.
"When will the Seventh Hokage understand me? Technology should be used efficiently, what's wrong with that? Young Master is much more knowledgeable. No, no, I can't be discouraged. As a scientist, I should be more proactive. Oh right, Young Master asked me for game data." Katasuke muttered to himself.
Just then, a figure dressed in a black robe appeared behind Katasuke.
Through the glass of the instrument, Katasuke saw a dark figure and turned to look. The dark figure reached out a hand to Katasuke.
"Awesome! We took down the boss! One-hit kill!" In a fast food restaurant, Boruto excitedly stood up, holding his game console. Shikadai and Inojin were sitting opposite him.
"What's going on? Why is Boruto's character so strong today?" Shikadai asked, puzzled. "Everything's ready, just waiting for Boruto," Inojin said, starting another round.
"What's going on with this level?" Shikamaru looked at the character's level displayed on the game console, noticed the anomaly, and asked Boruto. "It's been tampered with, Boruto." Following Shikadai's reminder, Inojin also noticed the anomaly.
"Not bad, right? Fighting the boss was a breeze with this. Here's the data for you guys too," Boruto said smugly. "It really is a tool, even though its level is indeed high," Inojin said, looking at the file Boruto sent.
"I'm telling you, the fun of this kind of game is in practicing it slowly under Mom's watchful eye," Lu Tai said helplessly.
"That's so corny! You don't seem to mind the trouble now. Besides, what's the point if you can't win?" Boruto said with a laugh. Shikadai reluctantly agreed with Boruto's assessment.
"Besides, Mom doesn't have time to care about my video games right now, you all know that, right? I recently got a little sister, and with Himawari too, Mom's been really busy lately," Boruto said unhappily.
"I did hear my mom say that she's very pretty, what do you think?" Inojin asked curiously.
Boruto blushed slightly, remembering Mashiro's gentle smile, and coughed twice, saying, "She's alright, but her personality is much better than Sarada's." "I'll tell Sarada about it later." A clear voice rang out, and Mashiro walked over lightly with Sumire.
Chapter 231: On the Eve of the Chunin Exams
"Mashiro, when did you get here?" Boruto hurriedly put away his game console upon seeing Mashiro approaching. "Just when you said I'm not good-looking." Mashiro said, squinting slightly as she stood beside Boruto. "Haha, um, I was just kidding," Boruto quickly explained.
Although Shinji and Boruto haven't known each other for very long, Shinji doesn't even need to use his powers to deal with a love-starved and awkward boy like Boruto.
Ignoring Boruto's words, Mashiro looked at Shikadai and Inojin and said softly, "Hello, my name is Hyuga Mashiro. I was fortunate enough to be adopted by the Seventh Hokage and his wife, so I am Boruto's younger sister."
Looking at Mashiro's beautiful and gentle appearance, coupled with her unique temperament, Shikadai blushed slightly and said, "Hello, my name is Nara Shikadai. This is Yamanaka Namijin. We are Boruto's friends."
"Hello, I'm Yamanaka Namijin." Inojin said with a smile, showing no sign of shyness. "Squad leader, you're here too. What brings you all here?" Boruto asked.
Noticing that Boruto had only just realized her presence, Kansui felt a pang of sadness, but still said in an incredibly gentle tone, "We just finished training and were looking for a place to eat together when we unexpectedly found you at the restaurant."
"Training? If I remember correctly, today is Sunday." Boruto said, somewhat puzzled.
"The Chunin Exams are coming up soon, and Hanabi-sensei is giving us intensive training," Mashiro explained. "Hanabi-neechan is really strict," Boruto remarked with a touch of admiration.
"You should pay more attention too." At that moment, another female voice came. Sarada and Mitsuki walked over together.
"We've brought you the application form." Yiyue handed a form to Boruto.
"What do you mean, Mitsuki? I said I wasn't planning on participating." Seeing Sarada and Mitsuki approach, Boruto took out his game console again and started playing games nonchalantly.
"Is that so?" Inojin said, somewhat surprised.
"Why are you still saying things like that?" Lu Tai said helplessly.
“Since Boruto says so, I don’t really care, but are you sure you don’t want to participate?” Mitsuki said gently.
"Of course not! I came to check on you because I was worried, and you actually said something like that? This matter has been unresolved for months. I'm telling you, Boruto, becoming Hokage is my dream." Sarada grabbed Boruto's collar and said seriously.
“I know,” Boruto said, shaking off Sarada’s hand.
“I don’t have time to waste as a genin; I need to pass the exam as soon as possible,” Sarada continued. “Easier said than done,” Inojin said softly upon hearing Sarada’s words.
He didn't believe the Chunin Exams could be passed so easily. "Yeah," Mitsuki agreed.
"But what about you? Are you trying to stop me from achieving my dream?" Sarada questioned Boruto. "Of course not! If you want to be one, then go be one yourself," Boruto said, dissatisfied.
"Um, it seems like those two are arguing. Shouldn't we go and try to stop them?" Kuanjin whispered in Mashiro's ear.
"No rush, none of the others close to them have spoken yet, let's just watch the show." Zhenbai turned around and whispered in Lan Jin's ear. The warm breath made Lan Jin's ears feel hot.
“Didn’t you hear what the teachers said? Teamwork is very important during exams,” Sarada continued. “I’ll go find someone for you,” Boruto said nonchalantly.
"Looking for it now? There's no way we'll find it now," Sarada said, dissatisfied.
“That’s right, teamwork isn’t something you can master overnight,” Lu Tai said. “Yes,” Jing Zhen nodded.
As the newly appointed Ino-Shika-Cho trio, they deeply understood the difficulty of team coordination. "It has nothing to do with me," Boruto said in a deep voice.
"Boruto, you've been acting strange lately. Who are you arguing with?" Sarada asked, puzzled. "No one," Boruto replied softly.
Shikadai gave Boruto a deep look, his eyes filled with helplessness.
"Boruto, no matter how much others praise you, it can't compare to someone saying you're amazing, right?" Just then, Yotsuki spoke up.
"What do you know about me?" Boruto looked at Mitsuki with some impatience. "I know, because you are my sun," Mitsuki said with a smile.
"I thought something was serious, how childish." Hearing Mitsuki's words, Sarada now understood why Boruto was being difficult. "I heard everything," Boruto said.
“Boruto, this is really going too far. Is this the kind of person you are?” Sarada said seriously.
"Sarazana, you guys go back first. I'll talk to Boruto. Leave the application here for now, and I'll have Boruto bring it to you tomorrow," Mashiro finally said softly, unable to bear it any longer.
Upon hearing this, Sarada and Mitsuki exchanged a glance and said, "Then we'll leave it to you, Mashiro."
After saying that, Mitsuki handed the application to Mashiro, and the two left together. After Sarada and Mitsuki left, Shikadai and Inojin also made an excuse to go back first.
"Lan Jin, I'm very sorry, something came up and I can't have dinner with you today," Zhen Bai said with a hint of sympathy.
"It's nothing, it's nothing." Lan Jin hurriedly waved her hand, then got up and left. After everyone left, Mashiro sat down opposite Boruto.
She originally just wanted to watch the show, but Sarada's words left her speechless. She could only say that she was indeed Sakura and Sasuke's daughter. She came with concern for Boruto, but she spoke in a harsh tone.
"Let me make this clear first, I'm not going to participate in the Chunin Exams," Boruto said awkwardly, looking at Mashiro. Seeing Boruto's expression, Mashiro suddenly laughed and said, "You're really cute."
He possessed Naruto's stubbornness as a child, Sasuke's arrogance, Hinata's sensitivity, and Neji's awkwardness. "What...what strange things are you saying?!" Boruto's face instantly turned red upon hearing Mashiro's words.
"Did they have another falling out with the Seventh Hokage?" Shiro clearly sensed that there was a deep rift and conflict between Boruto and Naruto.
Boruto remained silent.
"Don't you want to give it a try? Make the Hokage proud of you. This is a great opportunity to let everyone see your power. I think he'll be very happy then, and maybe he'll go home more often because of it," Mashiro said softly, leaning back in her chair.
Upon hearing this, Boruto was taken aback.
“Even if it weren’t for the Hokage, I think Mashiro and Aoi would be very happy, especially Aoi. You will be her role model, and I will also cheer for you and be happy for you,” Mashiro continued.
"Seriously, I agree, okay?" Boruto said helplessly. "That's more like it," Mashiro chuckled.
The two then left the fast food restaurant together.
On the way home, Boruto said, "Although I'm not interested in becoming a Chunin, I can still easily pass the exams. I have to scare everyone and show them what I, Uzumaki Boruto, am capable of."
"You're right, I believe you." Mashiro said softly. [Boruto's favorability +10]
That's right. Boruto's face turned red again. "Onii-chan, Ota-san."
Just then, Himawari's voice came from behind. "Hibiscus." Mashiro turned around with a smile.
“Sunflower.” Boruto laughed too.
Hinata was standing not far away with Himawari at that moment.
Mashiro and Boruto walked over, and Mashiro skillfully took the groceries from Hinata's hands.
"Why are you and Boruto going home together today?" Hinata asked with a smile. Hearing this, Boruto quickly gave Mashiro a look.
“Boruto and I were training in the same training ground, so we’re going back together,” Mashiro said softly.
"Is it for the Chunin Exams? It's rare to see Boruto training so hard," Hinata said, stroking Boruto's hair, clearly pleased.
Chapter 232: Sunflower's Birthday
"I'm home! My brother and Mashiro are back too!" Himawari knocked on the door as they arrived and said. "Welcome back, ya!" Naruto opened the door and smiled.
Upon seeing Naruto at home, Hinata smiled and glanced at Boruto.
Boruto's expression softened; so he remembered Himawari's birthday.
"Dad! I'm back! I'm back! I'm back! I'm back!" Upon seeing Naruto, Himawari excitedly rushed into his arms.
"Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back..." Naruto smiled and kept responding to Himawari. Only Mashiro looked at Naruto with some confusion, but quickly smiled back. Back home, Hinata quickly prepared a birthday feast.
Boruto and Mashiro also helped decorate Himawari's birthday party.
