Kuye prostrated himself on the ground, tears streaming down his face: "Even if I die a hundred times, it won't be enough to atone for the sins I've committed today..."

Ku Guo closed his eyes, his lips trembling, and uttered a broken Buddhist chant: "Amitabha... I'm sorry... I'm sorry..."

Abbot Kuhe stood aside, looking at his fellow disciples kneeling on the ground, and at the Shaolin Temple being destroyed, the ancient temple he had protected for a lifetime, and tears streamed down his face.

He slowly closed his eyes, clasped his hands together, and said in a hoarse voice, "Amitabha... I am also guilty... As the abbot, I failed to stop you... I failed to stop this catastrophe..."

The head of the disciplinary hall, Kuming, knelt down with a thud, repeatedly kowtowing on the cold stone slab until his forehead was quickly covered in blood and flesh.

“As the head of the Disciplinary Hall, I witnessed my fellow disciples going astray but failed to stop them in time… It was my dereliction of duty… I have failed the Disciplinary Hall… I have failed Shaolin…”

Ku Ji, the head of the Medicine King's Academy, was also in tears, collapsing to the ground, his voice broken and intermittent: "Shaolin is destroyed... completely destroyed..."

On the platform, eight eminent monks knelt down, their cries of weeping, repentance, and grief mingling together like a funeral dirge for Shaolin Temple.

In the distance, the white-clad figure continued to wield the pagoda, crushing buildings one after another.

After she swung the pagoda around a few times, she suddenly swayed and rose into the air!

The pagoda then rose into the air, drawing a huge arc in the sky.

The spire points downwards, aimed at the majestic Mahavira Hall below!

In that instant, all the monks who could still raise their heads saw that scene—

Under the moonlight, a figure in white robes floated in the sky, her hands clasped together. A six-zhang-tall Buddhist pagoda hovered above her head, its spire pointing directly at the Mahavira Hall below, like a divine sword descending from the sky!

"Do not--!"

"The Great Buddha Hall!"

"Buddha!"

A monk cried out in alarm, his voice filled with despair and fear.

However, it was all too late.

The figure in white gently waved his hand downwards.

The pagoda, like a meteorite from outer space, hurtled down with earth-shattering force!

Crash—!!!

A deafening roar, as if the sky had collapsed!

The spire of the pagoda pierced precisely through the magnificent glazed tile roof of the main hall, and then continued downwards with unstoppable force, penetrating, tearing, and crushing the main structure of the main hall layer by layer!

Wood chips flew everywhere, tiles scattered, and the enormous golden Buddha statue collapsed and shattered in an instant, turning into countless fragments that flew off into the air!

The entire Mahavira Hall, pierced by the pagoda, collapsed completely, like an egg smashed by a giant hammer!

After the loud bang, smoke and dust billowed into the sky, obscuring the sun and lingering for a long time.

As the smoke and dust gradually dissipate, and the moonlight shines down once more—

Everyone witnessed that unforgettable scene.

The pagoda stood like a giant nail, firmly embedded in the ruins of the main hall.

The tower's body penetrates the ruins of the entire Mahavira Hall, deeply embedded in the ground, with only most of its body protruding from the ruins.

The Mahavira Hall—the most central and solemn building of Shaolin Temple—has been completely reduced to ruins.

The Buddha's golden body also collapsed into dust, and splashed red wax oil splattered on the half-broken Buddha's head, sliding down from the corner of the eyes, as if the Buddha was shedding tears of blood.

The spilled candlelight ignited the wooden structure, and a raging fire began to burn, engulfing everything in flames.

Only the stupa, upside down and towering high in the ground, shimmered in the firelight, like a towering tombstone visible to everyone.

Ku Xin felt as if all her strength had been drained away, and she collapsed limply to the ground.

"It's over..."

He murmured to himself, his eyes devoid of any light.

The white-clad figure paused in mid-air for a moment before moving again.

She landed next to another pagoda, and with a wave of her hand, she activated her Absorption Technique, pulling that pagoda up as well.

Then, she flew over another Buddhist temple and smashed the pagoda down.

Boom!

Another Buddhist temple has been reduced to ruins.

She was like a tireless destroyer, flying around the Shaolin Temple, uprooting and destroying buildings, turning areas into ruins.

The Shaolin monks scattered and fled, some knelt on the ground chanting sutras and praying, and some tried to rush forward to stop them, but were easily crushed by the flying rubble and collapsing buildings.

No one could stop her.

No one could get close to her.

No one could pose even the slightest threat to her.

Those so-called Shaolin monks were as insignificant as ants in front of her.

Chapter 141 Your Buddha is merciful, my demonic nature is brutal, Shaolin is destroyed.

The entire Shaolin Temple was quickly destroyed, with only the place where Ku Xin and the others were located remaining relatively intact.

This is a viewing platform specially left by "Li Mochou" so that Ku Xin and others can have the best view of her destroying the Shaolin Temple and experience the pain of helplessness.

Many of the surviving monks from Shaolin Temple gathered here. After a brief moment of bewilderment, they all sat down cross-legged, closed their eyes, and began chanting sutras.

The monks who had been fleeing in all directions suddenly stopped after hearing the chanting.

They turned back, looking at the Shaolin Temple being destroyed, at the collapsing halls, and at their fellow disciples lying in pools of blood—

They stopped running and slowly sat down cross-legged.

They clasped their hands together, closed their eyes, and began to move their lips.

At first, only a few people were chanting scriptures.

The sound was very soft and faint, almost inaudible amidst the deafening roar of destruction.

But gradually, more and more people joined in.

Those monks who had fled, those who had hidden in the ruins, those who had been injured and fallen to the ground... they all struggled to sit up, put their hands together, and began to chant sutras.

The sound of chanting came from all directions.

At first it was chaotic, everyone was reciting their own words, their voices were high or low, fast or slow.

But gradually, those voices began to merge, to unite, and to converge into a torrent.

That is the most basic Heart Sutra.

"When Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva was practicing the profound Prajnaparamita, he perceived that the five aggregates are all empty, and thus transcended all suffering and distress..."

The voice went from low to high, from scattered to orderly, from faint to loud.

More and more monks joined in, and the chanting of sutras gathered and rose like a tide, echoing, swirling and coalescing in the sky above Shaoshi Mountain!

The sounds that were originally crying, screaming, and begging for mercy were gradually drowned out and assimilated by the chanting.

The flames that were still burning seemed to dim a bit amidst the chanting.

The buildings that were still collapsing seemed to stop trembling as the chanting of sutras was heard.

Throughout the entire Shaolin Temple, it seemed as if only one voice remained—

The sound of chanting!

The sound grew louder, more resonant, and more solemn, as if hundreds of Buddhas were chanting simultaneously.

It pierced through the ruins, through the smoke and dust, through the night sky, and soared straight into the clouds.

The chanting gradually resounded throughout Shaoshi Mountain, transforming into a Zen chant that reached the heavens and the earth, attempting to suppress the sounds of destruction!

On the platform, the eight eminent monks also raised their heads.

They looked at the disciples chanting scriptures amidst the ruins, their eyes filled with complex emotions.

Kuhe slowly stood up, wiped the blood and tears from her face, clasped her hands together, and joined the chanting.

His voice was old and hoarse, yet it carried an undeniable firmness.

Suffering heart, suffering wisdom, suffering enlightenment, suffering karma, suffering fruit, suffering clarity, suffering relief... The seven eminent monks also sat up, put their hands together, and joined in chanting the sutra, their appearances solemn and dignified.

The voices of the eight eminent monks merged with those of the thousands of monks, creating an even grander and more solemn chant!

The chanting was deafening, as if it would overturn the entire Shaoshi Mountain!

It is no longer just chanting scriptures, but a cry of faith, a roar of the soul, and an indomitable struggle in the face of destruction!

At that moment, it was as if the Buddha himself had appeared in the sky, looking down over the ruins and listening to the prayers of these believers.

It even drowned out the roar of destruction, the crackling of flames, the sound of the wind and the cries, becoming the only sound in the world!

The white-clad figure hovering in mid-air paused slightly upon hearing the earth-shaking chanting.

She turned her head and looked at the monks chanting sutras in the ruins, a hint of surprise flashing in her eyes.

"Oh?" she said softly, "A thousand years of history, that's quite interesting."

She had witnessed this method of linking everyone's spirit and energy together to form a unified force to overcome the strong; it was the special military formation of the four major legions of the imperial court in The Legendary Twins.

The difference is that the military formation embodies the will to kill, and its murderous aura is chilling; while the chanting in front of us embodies redemption and repentance, evoking resonance and inspiring compassion.

She stopped what she was doing, hovered in mid-air, and listened quietly to the earth-shaking chanting.

The chanting seemed to possess a strange power, capable of soothing the heart, dispelling fear, and helping people let go of their obsessions.

But to her, the chanting was just a bit noisy.

She could suppress the combined might of 100,000 warriors from the four major martial arts legions with her own strength, so what was the chanting of the thousands of Shaolin monks?

To awaken my compassion, do I have compassion?

She gently shook her head, stood in the sky with her arms outstretched, and unleashed her demonic heart and demonic intent!

boom--!!!

An invisible pressure, an overwhelming demonic intent, crashed down as if the sky were collapsing!
