The group then left the room.
Just as he was about to leave, Mu Nian, who was sweeping the floor, called out to him.
Where are you all headed?
Kitagawa Taki replied, "It's still early before dinner, let's go for a walk around the neighborhood."
Mu Nian nodded and said, "You can go for a stroll, but you all must be back before dark!"
After saying that, he didn't say anything more and started sweeping the floor on his own.
The three looked at each other, puzzled by the monk's mysterious behavior.
The group left the temple and walked up the mountain along the path.
At the very top of the temple, on the mountaintop, grow many cherry blossom trees and a stream, which is the source of the waterfall.
"The scenery at the top of this mountain is quite nice!" Fujimine Yukiko said. "So, is there anything suspicious about this place?"
Kitagawa Taki shook his head. "There's nothing to report yet."
Koizumi Akako said, "Didn't that little monk just say that we had to go back tonight? Maybe that mist tengu only appears at night."
“That’s right!” Fujimine Yukiko wasn’t scared at all. “Then let’s sneak out tonight.”
Kitagawa Taki walked to the edge of the cliff and looked down at the temple below.
But then they saw a car drive down the mountain and stop not far from the temple.
"Xiao Lan?"
Three people got out of the car: Kogoro Mouri, Ran Mouri, and Conan. Kogoro Mouri was squatting down, seemingly checking the tires.
Kitagawa Taki remembered that Ran had said they were going on a trip and had invited him and the Miyano sisters, but he had already made plans, so he had to decline.
I never expected to run into you here.
"Where, where?"
Yukiko Fujimine also came over to look, but could only see a few ant-like figures.
"Taki, your eyesight is amazing!" Fujimine Yukiko exclaimed in amazement.
Kitagawa Taki laughed and said, "Let's go down and see what's going on. It seems like they've run into some trouble."
Is Chapter 210 really that realistic?
The three returned the way they came and soon found Xiaolan and the others.
"Taki, Akako, Yukiko... Sister, what are you doing here?"
Xiaolan rubbed her eyes, thinking she was seeing things.
Conan frowned. Why was his mother hanging out with Kitagawa Taki again?
Thinking of this, Conan stepped forward and pulled Fujimine Yukiko aside.
Kitagawa Taki said, "We're here on some business. Ran, weren't you guys on vacation? What are you doing here?"
"We're saved! Kitagawa, our tires are flat!" Kogoro Mori rushed over as if he'd seen a savior.
Xiaolan explained, "We came here to admire the cherry blossoms."
Kitagawa Taki nodded and said, "It's getting late, and it's still quite a distance down the mountain. Brother Mori, I think you should stay at that temple like us!"
Kogoro Mori said helplessly, "Alright, but Kitagawa, what brings you here to stay?"
Seeing that Kogoro Mouri was pressing him for details, Taki Kitagawa had no choice but to tell him, "Exorcism."
Kogoro Mouri shuddered. "Could there be ghosts or monsters here?"
After meeting Kitagawa Taki, he became skeptical of these things and had long lost his former firm materialism.
Kitagawa Taki said, "Not necessarily, so it's best not to go at night. Besides, this mountain road is too difficult to drive on."
Kogoro Mouri nodded quickly.
On the other side, Yukiko Fujimine was squatting down and talking to Conan.
Conan complained, "Mom, why are you hanging out with Kitagawa Taki again?"
Fujimine Yukiko narrowed her eyes and reached out to pinch Conan's ear. "What do you mean by 'messing around'? Your old lady is out here on serious business. Do you expect me to stay home every day?"
"Mom, that's not what I meant! I was worried about you!" Conan said, on the verge of tears. "By the way, didn't Dad call you and ask you to go to New York?"
"So it was you who instigated this," Fujimine Yukiko sneered. "Without me in New York, isn't he living a carefree life?"
Conan smiled wryly and said, "Mom, you must have misunderstood Dad. He's not that kind of person."
"Hmph, alright, mind your own business!" Fujimine Yukiko said meaningfully, "You should worry more about yourself!"
"Huh? What do you mean?"
Conan didn't understand what Fujimine Yukiko was referring to, but she had already gotten up and left.
"Brother Kitagawa, did you come here to exorcise a spirit?" Conan followed the group, curious about the serious matter his mother had mentioned.
"It's said to be a mist tengu." Kitagawa Taki glanced at Conan, somewhat puzzled as to why the kid would care about this.
Tengu?
Conan pursed his lips.
……
Kitagawa Taki led the group back to the temple.
When Monk Tianyong saw that someone had come to his door again, his face beamed with joy.
Seeing that the men seemed to know each other, he asked, "Are you three also here to stay?"
Kogoro Mouri explained, "Yes, our car has a flat tire, so we'd like to find a place to stay for the night."
"Okay, 10,000...20,000 yen for adults, and 10,000 yen for children!"
Monk Tianyong was about to say ten thousand, but quickly changed his mind.
Kitagawa Taki then realized that they seemed to have been ripped off; this monk was far too dishonest.
"What? Twenty thousand yen?" Kogoro Mouri was shocked. This dilapidated temple was actually charging such a high price.
"These three are all charged the same price. We've always been fair to everyone, young and old!" Monk Tianyong's smile vanished instantly, and he said coldly, "If you don't want to stay, you can walk down the mountain for six hours."
"No, no, we didn't say we wouldn't stay somewhere."
Kogoro Mouri was speechless; this monk had quite a temper.
He took out his wallet, counted the money, and looked bitter.
After the extended car rental fee, repair costs, and accommodation expenses, he barely has any money left for drinks this month!
Monk Tianyong resumed his smiling demeanor: "Alright, Kuannian, take them to their rooms."
Kogoro Mouri and his companions were assigned to rooms next to those of Taki Kitagawa and his two companions.
We can reorganize the rooms; three men can share one room, and three women can share another.
……
Dinner time came quickly.
Kuan Nian came to call everyone to eat, and on the way he passed a room with a lock on it.
Conan broke away from the group, walked straight over, and pushed open the door to the room.
"Little brother, you can't just go in there!"
Upon seeing this, Kuan Nian quickly chased after them.
Conan ignored him, walked into the room, and looked around.
"This looks like a warehouse! The ceiling is so high!" Conan looked up and was amazed by the height of the ceiling.
"What is this room?" Kogoro Mouri followed him in.
Kuan Nian offered a brief explanation, then urged, "This is a room for cultivation; you should all leave quickly!"
"Excuse me, why are the wooden planks here all different colors?" Conan asked, pointing to a corner of the wall.
Kuan Nian's expression changed, and he forced a smile, "Little friend, let's go eat! This is nothing."
After saying that, without waiting for Conan's reaction, he pushed Conan and walked out.
Conan looked back again; the temple seemed to be hiding some secret.
The study room.
The temple provides set meals, and everyone's food is exactly the same.
It tastes alright, but it's a bit too simple.
During the conversation, Xiaolan asked a lot of questions about monks.
In Japan, being a monk is more of a profession, and most monks are not required to follow any precepts.
Kuan Nian said with a smile, "During our vacations, we all go to the beach together!"
It seems that as long as the matter of the Tengu is not mentioned, this monk is quite kind.
Conan looked at Kuan Nian and interjected, "Master, I'd like to ask about the Mist Tengu."
"Little friend, where did you hear that? It's best not to ask about such things." Kuan Nian didn't intend to say anything more.
Kitagawa Taki put down his chopsticks and said, "Abbot, could you tell me about the Mist Tengu?"
Ten'ei's expression changed, and he was about to say something, but after seeing Kitagawa Taki's actions, he swallowed his words.
Kitagawa Taki took out his wallet, counted out several banknotes, and placed them in front of Ten'ei Monk. "Consider these as my donation to the temple."
"No problem, no problem," Monk Tianyong said with a smile as he accepted the gift.
Conan rolled his eyes. What kind of monk is this? Is it really that realistic?
Monk Tianyong said, "Legend has it that the Tengu would sneak into the village like fog on rainy nights, use brute force to break down the walls of houses to capture people, then hang them on tall tree branches, and finally eat human flesh. It was an ancient monster."
"But don't worry, it's just an old legend."
