Squatting there is a person with the most down-to-earth style.
A dark-skinned, skinny young man from Southeast Asia, who was as thin as a bamboo pole and even barefoot.
Chatchai, the representative from Thailand.
Chachai was holding a king crab that was bigger than his head in his arms.
His eyes were curved in a smile, narrowing into slits.
He looks like a kind and harmless little brother next door.
"Crack! Squeak!"
An unpleasant chewing sound came from his mouth.
Chachai didn't use any crab-eating tools at all.
He just went straight for it.
Take the hard, spiky crab shell, along with the crab meat inside.
Chew it like a potato chip until it's crushed, then swallow it with satisfaction.
"Delicious, delicious."
Chachai chewed while muttering to himself with a chuckle:
"Japan is a nice place; even the insects there are so big, and they're quite chewy."
William strolled over with a martini in his hand and sat down in the middle of the sofa.
"Hey guys."
William's sunny and cheerful smile seemed particularly dazzling under the restaurant lights:
"Still not sleeping in the middle of the night, still nervous about the upcoming competition?"
Without even looking up, Allen pulled a small balance scale from his pocket and began weighing the next piece of food.
“According to the data I collected tonight, your Behemoth director’s heart rate spiked to 140 beats per minute when he left the hotel this evening.”
Allen's tone was as serious as if he were reading a lab report:
"This kind of heart rate peak only occurs when a person is in a state of panic or fright."
"William, it seems your higher-ups are quite frightened by that coach from China."
William shrugged indifferently and took a sip of his drink.
"That old Jack is a coward. That Chinese man in the Taoist robe is indeed a bit troublesome. But so what?"
William grinned, his smile finally revealing the ferocity of a predator:
"We're here to compete, not to fight those elders. Once we're in the ring, it's the young people's domain."
"Oh dear, you guys are so mean."
Chachai, who was standing next to him, stopped chewing on the crab shell.
He squatted on the chair, hugging his knees, his eyes narrowed to slits, and interjected with a grin:
"I heard that those players from China are really good at fighting. I'm so scared. I really hope I don't run into them in the draw, otherwise I'm sure I'll be beaten to tears."
William's smile widened as he looked at Chatchai's cowardly appearance.
“Brother Chatchai, your modesty can be misunderstood.”
William's long, slender fingers tapped the glass:
"Last time in the South American rainforest, who was it who, while laughing and screaming for help, used black magic to drain a full-strength mercenary group of their life force, turning them into dried-up corpses?"
"Your smiling face is even better at faking it than Zhang Chulan from China."
Chachai scratched his head and smiled憨厚ly: "Oh, they were just lucky, they were sick themselves."
Chapter 329 Zhang Chulan: Big brother, do you need someone to pour water here?
Under the dim yellow lights of the restaurant.
Chachai hugged the huge crab shell that he had already gnawed into, and laughed like an innocent boy next door.
"Brother William, you must be joking. I'm not that amazing. I'm just a nobody here to broaden my horizons."
Chachai rubbed his greasy hands on his trouser leg, his eyes so small they looked like they weren't even open.
William shook the martini in his hand, the ice cubes clinking against the glass.
He looked at Chatchai, his smile widening.
"Chachai, you're quite good at playing dumb. But, you just mentioned drawing lots?"
William leaned forward slightly, as if sharing an interesting secret, his voice low:
"Dude, you're making this event too conventional."
"I know a little inside information about the organizing committee. This competition format... is not some childish game where everyone sits in a row and fights in a ring."
Allen paused for a moment, a glint of light flashing in his eyes, but he didn't look up.
"Oh? What's that?" Chatchai blinked, his face full of curiosity.
"I can't say for sure what it is."
William straightened up, spread his hands, and adopted a very magnanimous demeanor:
"But I can guarantee that it will be a massive free-for-all that will involve everyone."
"So, I have a suggestion."
William's gaze swept back and forth between Allen and Chatchai.
"The Chinese team's lineup is too eye-catching. How about we form an alliance at the start of the match?"
"Let's team up and eliminate those tough nuts from the Chinese team first. Then we can decide the remaining rankings ourselves behind closed doors. How about that?"
This proposal is indeed very appealing.
After all, Behemoth's team is undoubtedly one of the strongest.
However, faced with this olive branch extended proactively.
Neither of them readily agreed.
Allen finally moved the piece of salmon that he had been disliking for so long to the edge of the plate.
"I'm sorry, William."
Allen's voice was cold, as if devoid of emotion:
"According to my data model analysis, allying with someone who acts illogically and hides their true intentions can cause the mortality rate of the entire team to soar to 73.5%."
"And, most importantly."
Allen slowly put the tools back into his pocket: "I'm just an analyst responsible for collecting data. Our captain hasn't given the order yet."
"Oh dear, me too! Me too!"
Chachai immediately raised his hands and chimed in with a smile:
"I'm just here for the fun of it. My eldest son has a terrible temper. If I were to form cliques with other people on my own, he'd break my legs when I get back."
Chachai made an innocent face at William: "Brother William, for something this important, you should talk to my captain."
I was met with two setbacks in a row.
William, however, did not feel embarrassed at all.
He shrugged nonchalantly and downed the rest of his martini in one gulp.
"What a pity. Well, I wish you both good luck, and I hope you can maintain this relaxed attitude on the field."
He waved his hand, strode arrogantly, humming a light tune, and swaggered out of the restaurant.
Until William's figure completely disappeared around the corner.
Allen then stopped what he was doing.
He looked up and stared intently in the direction William had left.
A wary look appeared on that stern face.
"Data doesn't lie..."
Allen muttered to himself, "This golden retriever with its sunny face is full of poison."
……
Two days later.
A giant indoor stadium in Tokyo.
This massive building, which usually hosts world-class concerts and top-level combat sports events, is under complete lockdown today.
A long cordon was set up around the venue.
Several helicopters could even be seen circling and patrolling in the sky.
Representatives from the supernatural community of various countries, their families, and prominent figures are continuously pouring into the venue through a dedicated passage.
The scene was extremely grand, with colorful flags fluttering in the wind.
"Squeak!"
Three extended luxury vans smoothly entered the venue's underground VIP parking lot.
The car door opened.
He was wearing a suit that made him feel uncomfortable all over, sunglasses, and a transparent communication headset on his ear.
With a dark expression, he was the first to jump out of the driver's seat.
He glanced around, looking every bit the part of a professional bodyguard.
In the driver's seat of the other car, Xiao Zizai pushed open the door and got out.
He was wearing the same suit, but it looked much better on him, making him appear more refined and elegant.
