"Oh? Someone as weak as you actually recognizes lost magic." Azuma looked at him with some surprise. "Then you should know what I'm going to do, right?"

Dorell's face turned ashen. Hope had tried to teach him the "Great Tree Arc" through the "Ancient Scriptures," but because of his poor aptitude, he couldn't learn it no matter what.

However, he was already very familiar with the effects of this magic.

As a lost magic, the most terrifying aspect of "Tree Arc" is its ability to draw upon magical power stored in the soil within a certain area, much like the roots of a plant draw nutrients.

And within Sirius Island... lies an unparalleled and immense reserve of magical power.

In other words, if Azuma so desires, he can use the magic of Tenrou Island to destroy the Tenrou Tree at any time, thereby rendering all Fairy Tail members on the island powerless.

"The Heart of the Devil... You are all despicable!"

Dorell's eyes were bloodshot as he desperately channeled his magic, causing several thorny vines to grow from beneath him, attempting to sever the roots binding him, but to no avail.

Even if Azuma didn't draw upon the earth's magic, the gap between them was like an insurmountable chasm.

"I don't like this."

Azuma coldly replied, "But this is Guild Master Hades' order: all Fairy Tail mages must be eliminated, not a single one left alive."

"Stop!" Sarusuk charged forward again.

Azuma stretched out his other hand, "Sword of the Leaf!"

In an instant, green leaves fell from the sky, each leaf carrying a sharp edge, covering all of Sarusuk's space to dodge.

Sarusuk pushed his speed to the limit, weaving through the rain of leaves, his clothes constantly being torn and his body covered in countless tiny wounds.

He tried to break through the blockade to get closer to Azuma, but the seemingly slowly falling petals always managed to block his path.

“It’s no use.” Azuma’s voice was flat and emotionless.

As a battle maniac, Sarusuk's logic of action has been completely seen through, and even "Divine Speed" cannot escape it.

On the other side, Dorell was extremely anxious when he saw his best friend in danger. He gave up cutting the tree roots and instead poured all his magic into the seeds that had been placed underground beforehand.

"This move was something I prepared for Levy's test!"

"Now you're getting a good deal!"

"Come back to life! Plants, the creators of life!"

Centered around Dorell, a large number of magical plants sprouted from the ground. It was a pity that he couldn't learn the "Great Tree Arc", but Hope taught him other things as well.

The magical plants that grew out had bizarre shapes.

There's the Peashooter who uses its mouth as a gun barrel, the Cabbage that punches, the Watermelon Pitcher who grows and throws watermelons, and the tall, hard Nut...

With the help of her magical plants, Dorell finally broke free of her restraints and reunited with Sarusuk.

Looking at these magical plants that seemed to have noses and eyes, Azuma showed a hint of interest for the first time. "They're finally starting to look somewhat decent."

"Since that's the case, I'll give you another chance."

"I will not use the magic power of Sirius Island next. I will only use one-third of the original power. If the two of you can defeat me at this level, I will give up on destroying Sirius Tree."

"Don't worry, I'm different from other dark mages. I keep my word."

Azuma's words were like a stone thrown into stagnant water, igniting a resolute flame in the hearts of Sarusuk and Dorell. Since their companion's life was at stake, they were naturally determined to do everything in their power.

The two looked at each other and saw the determination in each other's eyes.

Their goal wasn't to let the enemy have their fun, but to risk everything to protect their comrades and the guild! Even if they were weaker than the enemy, they would still try to take a bite out of them.

Chapter 222 Thunderclap

Dorelle wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth.

Sarusuk nodded to Dorelle; their years of tacit understanding needed no further explanation.

With a single glance, the two moved at the same time.

"God's Foot Chaos!

Sarusuk launched the first attack, his figure suddenly blurred, leaving afterimages in place, while his true form moved around Azuma at high speed like a whirlwind, searching for an opening.

Dorell commanded his magical plant army to launch an attack. Peashooters spewed watermelons, while Watermelon Throwers kept their distance and continuously hurled exploding watermelons at Azuma.

A wall made of sturdy wooden stakes rose from the ground, blocking the barrage of Peashooters and Watermelon Throwers. Azuma then threw out a dozen Magic Explosion Fruits.

Sarusuk wanted to stop them, but his strength was limited. Even though Azuma only used one-third of his power, he was powerless to stop them and could only intercept two Blast Fruits.

The shield wall made of tall nuts was immediately blasted open, creating a gap.

Taking advantage of the momentum, Azuma charged straight into the magical plant army despite the ranged attacks, but the cabbage boxer behind the tall nut shield wall gave him an unexpected surprise.

Don't be fooled by the fact that they're just a bunch of cabbages with no clear purpose; these little things are surprisingly good at fighting, unleashing a flurry of punches that prevented Azuma from advancing any further.

Sarusuk weaved through the gaps in the plants, his speed increasing once again. He appeared behind and to the side of Azuma, delivering a fierce kick straight for Azuma's temple.

Although Azuma managed to block the attack, he was bombarded by the Peashooters under the command of Dorel, and with the constant harassment from Sarusuk, he was forced to retreat from the plant army's formation.

"Good teamwork."

Azuma commented casually, showing slight approval that Sarusuk and Dorell had managed to force him back, then pointed to the ground, "Spirit spikes everywhere!"

Sharp wooden spikes burst forth from the ground like a forest of thorns, covering an enormous area and instantly engulfing the entire battlefield.

Sarusuk used his speed to dodge with all his might, leaping narrowly between the splinters.

Dorell then directed the Peashooter to spit seed bullets at the ground in an attempt to break the approaching splinters, while having the Cabbage Boxer protect him in the middle.

However, the splinters grow too fast and too densely; if a pea seed shatters one splinter, many more will immediately sprout.

Soon, a sharp splinter grazed Dorell's arm, drawing a trail of blood. Sarusuk's thigh was also cut, affecting his speed.

The gap is too big.

Even if Azuma only used half his power, his precise control over magic and his wide-ranging suppression were enough to keep them constantly on the run.

"Do you see that? That's the gap between us."

Azuma stood amidst the thorns, saying, "Your fighting spirit is admirable, but meaningless."

"Shut up!"

Dorell was panting heavily, cold sweat beading on his forehead, but his eyes were fierce. "Whether it has any meaning or not is not up to you to decide! Sarusuk!"

"Understood!" Sarusuk wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, his eyes sharpening. "Go for it, Dorell! Use that move!"

Dorell slammed his hands on the ground, frantically pouring all his magic into them. The remaining magical plants burst forth with their final green light, then rapidly withered, transforming into a pure stream of magic that flowed towards his feet.

"We're betting the name of our 'Lane Engine' team!"

"Plants, Life Creation, Corn Cannon!"

A wooden cart loaded with a giant ear of corn instantly materialized in front of the two of them, and the energy contained within the giant ear of corn made Azuma's eyes light up.

He saw through their scheme, but instead of stopping them, he waited with great interest, saying, "Let me see your final struggle."

Sarusuk lowered his body slightly, concentrated all his magic in his right leg, and kicked the corn cart in front of him with all his might.

Corn cannon, fire!

The next second, a tremendous roar resounded throughout the entire Sirius Island.

A mushroom cloud slowly rose.

Dorell and Sarusuk stared intently at the black smoke following the explosion, but the figure emerging from it filled them with despair.

Under the green barrier, Azuma was safe and sound.

Despite exhausting all means and all magic power, they couldn't even harm a single hair on the enemy's head...

Looking at the two people who had collapsed to the ground from exhaustion, Azuma smiled slightly and said, "Congratulations, you have won."

It turns out that under the extreme corn cannon attack just now, Azuma, sensing the danger, subconsciously used half of his power instead of the agreed one-third.

So he conceded defeat.

"Your awareness and cooperation are surprising, and they also made me feel a little... satisfied."

"I will not destroy the Sirius Tree."

"But... that doesn't mean others can't."

Azuma looked at the two, who were almost exhausted of their magic and covered in wounds, and a complex emotion flashed in her eyes, a mixture of admiration and regret.

These words were like a bucket of cold water poured over Sarusuk and Dorell, immediately filling them with unease.

Before they could ask any more questions, a burly demon with four arms and eight octopus legs emerged from the nearby woods.

"Hahaha, what a good show!"

"It must feel wonderful to toy with the weak, Azuma."

Azuma looked at the octopus demon, Child Che Ethel, one of the "Nine Demon Gates," and the most impatient and bloodthirsty demon among the members of the Underworld Gate.

"I'll leave this to you. I'm going to see if I can run into any Fairy Tail S-rank mages elsewhere." Azuma turned around and was about to leave.

Ethel snorted coldly, "Lord Hades and your Hades entrusted you and me to destroy the Sirius Tree together, and this is your attitude now?"

Azuma turned around and said, "Although I am not a good person, to be honest, I hate you demons. If we weren't partners now, I would definitely fight you."

"It's possible now. You 'Devil Heart' and we 'Tarren's Gate' have always had your own agendas. You might start fighting right after we destroy Fairy Tail."

Ethel's four arms transformed into sharp blades.

Azuma also plans to draw upon the magic power of Sirius Island.

The atmosphere gradually became tense.

Suddenly, Ethel chuckled, "Oh dear, I almost forgot the important matter. We should destroy the Sirius Tree first, or I won't be able to withstand Hades' punishment."

As if the earlier infighting had never happened, Ethel walked toward Dorrel and Sarusuk, saying, "Before you cut down the tree, wash your hands with the blood of the two humans."

Looking down at the demon from above, Sarusuk and Dorelle felt a deep sense of despair.

Just as Ethel raised his sword high, the ground beneath his feet suddenly exploded with a blinding golden bolt of lightning, interrupting his magic and sending him flying into the air.

Accompanying Thunder was a haughty figure wearing a coat. Laxus looked at his two companions and, unusually, uttered a few words that weren't arrogant.

"Dorel, Sarusuk, you did a good job."

"Next... it's time for those who dared to harm my companions to pay the price."
