The next second, golden lightning struck the stage.

Appearing alongside him was one of Fairy Tail's S-class mages, the Thunder Dragon Slayer, known as "Thunder Dragon," and Fairy Tail's strongest candidate—

Laxus!

"Hey everyone, the real festival is just beginning."

Laxus looked down at Makarov with an indifferent expression. "Old man, come and have some fun."

Makarov looked up at his grandson with a pained expression, clinging to his last glimmer of hope, and tried to persuade him, "Laxus, stop fooling around. We still have the magical parade to prepare. Quickly restore everyone to normal."

Laxus smirked. "A magical parade? Isn't that supposed to start tonight? I wonder how many of you will still be standing by then..."

As soon as the words were spoken, a bolt of lightning struck Lucy, who had turned to stone. This scene instantly caused everyone present to shrink in shock.

Seeing everyone's reaction, Laxus smiled with satisfaction. "It seems you all understand my determination. To make this interesting show even more entertaining, these women will be my hostages."

"If you don't follow the rules of the game, then watch them get smashed one by one."

"Laxus!"

Makarov was truly enraged this time, and he was so angry that he wanted to rush up and teach Lagusas a lesson. He would never allow his children to be harmed, even if that person was his own grandson.

But Laxus gave Makarov no chance at all; in a flash, he appeared on the railing on the second floor of the guild, grinning maliciously as he spoke:

"The rules of the game are simple. Today, let's find out who is the strongest in Fairy Tail. The last one standing will be the winner!"

"Come on, Fairy Tail melee!"

As Laxus finished speaking, Freed immediately activated the spell he had set up outside the guild that morning. There were ordinary people present, and since this was an internal matter of Fairy Tail, he did not involve those innocent people.

The spells placed outside the guild were merely to restrict Makarov's movements and prevent those turned into stone statues from being taken away.

Laxus stood on the second floor, looking down at the crowd with their varied expressions. "We only have four people, while you have nearly 100. The entire Magnolia is our battlefield."

"You only have 3 hours left. The game officially begins!"

Laxus revealed a cruel smile, and with a light flick of his finger, a burst of golden light erupted, forcing everyone to close their eyes in shock.

Immediately afterwards, a sound like something hitting the wall came from behind.

As the light faded, everyone turned around and saw that Laxus and the Thunder Gods had not left, but were standing at the guild gate, all with surprised expressions on their faces.

Outside the guild gate, a barrier composed of complex magical runes appeared, which some recognized as Fried's "Spell".

Magical characters representing the rules of the spell slowly emerged, but those rules left everyone dumbfounded.

It clearly states that "only those over 80 years old can leave the guild, and that stone statues are prohibited inside the guild."

"Oh no! Someone has tampered with my spell!"

Fried's expression changed drastically. He never expected that his carefully laid out spell would be rewritten. No one in the guild besides Levy should be able to do this, but she was clearly with that Gajeel this morning...

However, it was too late to think about it now. Those who had been turned into stone by Abagarin had already been freed from their petrification state under the influence of the activated spell.

Seeing the other guild members surrounding them with unfriendly expressions, the Thunder God Clan lost their composure, and even Laxus's arrogant expression turned serious.

An awkward atmosphere suddenly filled the air.

In such a densely packed space, there are 4 to 100.

And that's with Makarov and Erza on the other side. Forget about a game to determine the strongest; in three hours, all four of them will probably be carried out.

Laxus gritted his teeth. "Damn it, I hope I find out who's pulling these dirty tricks behind my back, or else..."

"What else can you do? You think you can come out and hit me?"

A cheeky voice came from outside the door. Laxus turned around abruptly and saw Hope sitting leisurely in a chair, holding a Coke in one hand and popcorn in the other.

Chapter 161 Begin Your Performance

"It's you?!"

Laxus was surrounded by crackling electricity.

During this time, Hope was busy with something and had such a low profile that he forgot about this extraordinary guy when he was making his plans.

"What did you do?" Fried stared intently at Hope.

When the Thors returned to the Guild, their knowledge of Hope was limited to his eloquence in the original Council court; they had no idea that he could copy other people's magic.

Hope slowly ate a piece of popcorn, pointed to the spell characters on the door, and said, "It's obvious. I saw you sneaking around outside the guild writing and drawing this morning, and after you left, I just changed a few strokes."

"This is impossible!"

Fried exclaimed, "My spellcasting guild only has..."

"Only Levy, with a high level of understanding of 'word magic,' can decipher it?"

Hope shrugged. "Coincidentally, I also know Levy's magic, and I happen to have a senior who taught me a lot of magical knowledge, including a deep understanding of 'word' magic, which allowed me, a guy who got a bargain, to rise to the top in one step."

"And your spell is too obviously targeted, 'No one over 80 years old allowed to leave'? Please, besides the guild leader, who in the guild is over 80? What's the difference between that and openly calling Natsu an idiot?"

Before Fried could say anything, Natsu, who had been inexplicably used as an example, became unhappy first, "I'm not stupid!"

"Natsu, you're focusing on the wrong thing..."

Lucy couldn't help but complain, "This is clearly a personal attack."

"Personal attack? But I'm fine."

Looking at the clear stupidity in Natsu's eyes, everyone around him facepalmed. It would be strange if anyone could break down this carefree guy with words.

Because Natsu couldn't understand it at all.

Sometimes being uneducated is a good thing...

Erza walked to the front of the crowd, facing Laxus directly. "The extra entertainment should end now. I apologize to the Chairman and everyone. Things can still be salvaged."

"apologize?"

Laxus sneered, lightning crackling around him. "I, Laxus, never regret what I do! Whether it's that old man or you, Erza, I will defeat them all!"

"I am the strongest!"

However, as soon as he finished speaking, the holographic projection that was a perfect replica of the original outside the guild gate immediately stole everyone's attention.

Laxus noticed the palm-sized recording crystal in Hope's hand. Under its operation, the clear image projected into the air was the scene where he had just said that he was the strongest.

Laxus glared at Hope, the guy who had ruined his plans. "Still in the mood to play? Once I've defeated everyone in the guild, it'll be your turn."

Hope chuckled softly and casually placed the recording crystal on the armrest of the chair. "Laxus, keep causing trouble. I'll be even more pleased when you're finally beaten black and blue and lying on the ground."

"However, if you're considering turning back now..."

Hope's nonchalant attitude offended Laxus. "What are you turning around for?! I'll smash your dog head in when I get out!"

"Hehe, what a Thunder Dragon Slayer Mage you are."

Hope shook the popcorn bucket, making a rustling sound. "In this world, corruption and turning evil are no big deal. But I know that, Laxus, you've been blinded by your own arrogance."

"Then we, as your comrades, will have to save you. To be fair, Erza, Natsu, Gajeel, and Gray—I'll call them the Fairy Four—how about that for you and the Thunder Legion?"

Laxus snorted coldly, "Don't look down on me!"

Hope chuckled, "Don't underestimate them. The four of them are just as powerful as Jura, one of the Ten Wizard Saints."

"Everyone has their own unique strengths."

"Each of them has their own unique skill."

"His fighting spirit and patience were truly astonishing."

"The secret weapon will give you an unexpected surprise, hahaha..."

"Alright, let your performance begin."

As Hope finished speaking, the guild fell silent instantly.

Laxus is in a class of his own among the younger generation of the guild, with only Mystogan able to rival him. Among the Thunder Gods, Captain Freed possesses power approaching that of an S-class mage, and the other two are also incredibly strong.

Where did Hope get the confidence that Fairy Four could fight against Laxus and the Thors?

Even Erza, Natsu, Gajeel, and Gray, who were specifically mentioned by him, felt the same way, except they simply couldn't accept such a nonsensical title as "Fairy Four"...

"Deal with us? Are you out of your mind?!"

As Biguslo spoke, five magical puppets instantly flew out from behind him, and five magical rays rushed straight at Hope. The existence of the spell prevented them from leaving the guild, but the magic spell could not stop them.

However, before the magic ray could even leave the gate, a beam of pure white sword light flashed like lightning, severing all of Biguslo's magic.

Ignoring the Thunder Gods, Erza pointed her longsword directly at Laxus, her eyes as cold as ice. "Laxus, I've wanted to have a good fight with you for a long time, and now is the time."

"Tch, then try and stop me, Erza!"

Laxus looked disdainful, golden lightning crackling around him as a dazzling golden bolt of lightning roared towards Erza.

The moment the battle began, Abba Greene took off her glasses, intending to use her petrifying eye on Erza again, but her vision was blocked by an ice wall that descended from the sky.

Gray had taken off his shirt at some point and stood shirtless in front of Abbagrim, saying, "If you can't look directly at her, then your petrifying eyes won't work, right?"

Abbagrim gritted her teeth. This was indeed a weakness of her magical eyes, but her strength was not limited to just those eyes.

"Watch the move! Fairy Explosive Bomb!"

Numerous phosphorescent photon particles instantly blasted the ice wall apart, but Gray was no longer there. A huge ice prison fell from above, enveloping Abbagrim within it.

Immediately afterward, Gray also appeared in the ice prison. In the cramped space, he took a step forward, and his fist, encased in ice, was already in front of Abba Green.

Abba Grin was hit squarely in the attack and was blasted away, crashing heavily into the ice wall.

Abba Grin gritted her teeth and got up. She used "fairy" magic and was good at mid-to-long-range combat, but her physical skills were poor. If she were to get close to a mage like Gray who was proficient in both physical skills and magic, the consequences would be severe.

The cramped ice cell didn't offer her enough space to maneuver; the only way to break free was to smash it.

Ignoring the potential damage to the guild, Abba Green knew that if she lost to Gray, she would no longer be worthy of following Laxus.

"Everything for Laxus!"

"Fairy Bomb!"

With a wave of her velvet fan, a large amount of fairy scales fell onto the ice prison, where they were powerfully detonated under the control of Abagarin's magic.

Gray, hiding behind the ice shield, watched this scene with a slight smile, letting Abbagrim destroy the space he had created.

The ice prison shattered into pieces, and just when Abba Grin thought she could finally show off her skills, another ice prison appeared in the surrounding cold air and landed on her head, smaller and more solid.
