"I told you not to report this, not to report this, you idiot, but you wouldn't listen!" Venom's voice echoed in Eddie's mind: "Your pointless kindness has gotten us into serious trouble!"

"Shut up, you wretched asphalt monster!" Eddie retorted without backing down. "Otherwise, you'd better get out of my body right now! This is my body; you're just a temporary resident!"

Eddie has now figured out the exact nature of his relationship with Venom.

They also learned from Venom what changes would occur after a symbiote and a human coexisted.

Therefore, Eddie was not afraid of Venom, because he knew that once Venom left him and turned into that asphalt-like form, it was actually very weak.

“Don’t do that, Eddie,” Venom said, his tone calmer. “I think we should make our way out before that fat woman comes back. That way we can get out of this hellhole without having to kill someone against your will!”

After Eddie figured out what a symbiote was, he made a pact with Venom: he allowed Venom to live inside him, but Venom could not kill innocent people indiscriminately, nor could it eat people.

Venom readily agreed to Eddie's request.

On one hand, he needs Eddie's healthy and strong body as his host.

On the other hand, the symbiote's personality is influenced by its previous hosts, and Eddie's kindness clearly affected Venom's original personality.

Of course, Eddie's kindness did not completely change Venom's bloodthirsty and cruel nature.

After all, Venom's two previous hosts were Kree Empire spy Carter and Deadpool.

Upon hearing this, Eddie immediately refused, saying, "No, we can't! If we do that, I'll become a fugitive and be wanted by the authorities, and I'll never be able to return to a normal life."

However, Venom disagreed with his idea, saying, "You're really naive. To be honest, from the moment we bonded, you'll never be able to go back to a normal life."

"Why do you say that?" Eddie asked, frowning.

Venom's head extended from Eddie's neck, looking directly into Eddie's eyes, and said, "Because you are no longer an ordinary person. You are completely different from those fragile, ordinary humans. You either become a supervillain or a superhero. You have no choice."

Supervillains vs. Superheroes?

Eddie fell into deep thought; he actually understood some of what Venom was saying.

Because Eddie could clearly sense Venom's deep-seated desire for killing and bloodshed.

This is one of the personality traits that Deadpool brought to Venom.

Images kept flashing through my mind, from Tony's press conference at the beginning to the Avengers later on.

Finally, even superhero comics published by Depp appeared.

Eddie gradually hardened his resolve and said, "You mean if my body and mind are completely controlled by you, then I'll become a supervillain. If I can maintain my current state, then I'll become a superhero, right?"

"You're right, but I think you're more likely to become a villain, because I like that!"

Venom grinned foolishly with his mouth wide open.

"No, you can never influence me! Although I don't know if I will become a superhero, I'm sure I won't become a villain."

The office door creaked open.

Upon seeing this, Venom immediately re-entered Eddie's body.

At the door, the overweight policewoman returned to her office carrying a stack of ten 10-inch pizzas and five cups of cola.

The policewoman placed the pizzas and cola in front of Eddie and said, "Eat up, Mr. Eddie Brock. I just inquired, and if the police can't find any proof of your connection to the Life Foundation by tomorrow morning at the latest, we can let you go."

Eddie eagerly grabbed the pizza and wolfed it down, asking, "The latest is tomorrow morning? If it's earlier, what time would that be? Can I get back before midnight?"

Upon hearing this, the policewoman repeated herself, emphasizing, "You will be released by tomorrow morning at the latest, understand, Mr. Brock? By tomorrow morning at the latest!"

Eddie stopped what he was doing, looked up and thought for a moment, then said, "Okay, I understand. They'll let me go tomorrow morning."

In the middle of the night, after finishing all ten pizzas and five cups of cola, Brock patted his stomach, leaned back in his chair, and fell into a deep sleep.

Across from him, the policewoman sat blankly in her chair, staring at a table full of pizza boxes, her face filled with shock.

"Humans cannot, or at least should not..."

The policewoman looked at her own two fat bellies, then at Eddie's obviously muscular physique, and felt even more melancholy.

"Why should I...?"

The next morning, having found nothing, the San Francisco police released Eddie.

Walking home, Eddie felt incredibly light.

It seems that the large amount of energy consumed yesterday has restored my body to its optimal state.

On his way home, Eddie stopped at a nearby supermarket and bought all the chocolates inside.

Because Venom told Eddie that he could stop eating people, but a certain substance called phenylethylamine in the human body was essential for Venom's survival.

After searching, Eddie discovered that chocolate contains a large amount of phenylethylamine.

In other words, barring any unforeseen circumstances, chocolate will be Eddie's primary snack from now on.

Why did you buy so much chocolate?

The supermarket cashier asked curiously.

Upon hearing this, Eddie grinned mischievously and said, "Give it to my son; that guy loves chocolate the most."

"Eddie, you son of a bitch!"

Venom immediately protested wildly in Eddie's mind, but Eddie completely ignored it.

The cashier handed Eddie two large bags of chocolates and praised him, "You're such a good father. Your son would be ecstatic if he knew you bought him so many chocolates."

"Thank you for your compliment."

Eddie left the supermarket with the chocolates, thinking that he might not be happy, but Venom was definitely about to go crazy with anger.

"Get me out of here, Eddie! I have to slap that cashier twice! That guy is just too much!"

Venom raged impotently in Eddie's mind until Eddie tore open a piece of chocolate and popped it into his mouth, at which point he comfortably stopped cursing.

Back home, Eddie showed no signs of fatigue.

It must be said that symbiotes are absolutely the best partners for their hosts.

They can not only enhance the host's strength, speed, and defense, but also heal any damage to the host at any time.

This also includes diseases that are hidden within the host's body.

For example, cancer, diabetes, and so on.

Eddie was unaware that, despite his strength, he had already been diagnosed with cancer, which explained his previous weakness.

When the venom entered his body, it completely destroyed his cancer cells.

Chapter 316 Return and Rewards

After opening two bottles of beer for himself, Brock walked over to a chair on the balcony and sat down.

Leaning back against the chair, Brock completely relaxed.

The cold beer flowed slowly down his esophagus into his stomach, and Brock squinted, his face full of enjoyment.

The time displayed on the phone screen is 6:38.

According to his previous routine, Brock is still asleep and hasn't even gotten out of bed yet.

But right now, Brock feels great and doesn't need to catch up on sleep at all.

"Life is truly wonderful."

Brock looked down at the sparse office workers on the street below and sipped his cold beer.

He quickly finished the first bottle of beer.

Brock picked up his second beer and had just taken a sip when his phone rang urgently.

He picked up his phone, and on it was a name that Brock was both incredibly familiar with and utterly repulsive to.

Barney Bushkin, the owner of the Global Times.

"That damn Barney, why does he always have to mess things up when I'm most relaxed and carefree?" Brock muttered, glancing at the time. "And it's only 6:43 in the morning, I don't start work until 8!"

Apparently, Barney had connections within the San Francisco Police Department who informed him that Brock had been released.

After saying that, Brock answered the phone: "Hello, my boss."

"What a load of crap!" Barney yelled. "You idiot, why did you go to the Life Foundation for a secret visit without my permission?"

Brock explained, "Because you have consistently refused to approve my application to conduct an undercover investigation at the Life Foundation, I have no choice but to do this. I will report back to you once the investigation is successful."

"What achievements have you made! Your achievement is getting that damn San Francisco Police Department to call me late at night and interrogate me about you?"

Barney was clearly furious: "Luckily, you weren't found to have done anything wrong this time, otherwise the entire Global Times would have suffered because of you!"

"Boss, I just want to uncover the truth. That's my creed as a journalist."

"Brock said again."

Barney, however, disregarded journalistic principles. He stated, "I don't know anything about journalistic principles or beliefs, nor do I care about the truth. I only know that if you can't give me an irrefutable reason within a week, then you can pack your bags and get out of here!"

Beep~ Beep~ Beep~

Brock stood there, stunned, as the phone rang and the call ended.

Then, he leaned back straight, slumping into the chair.

"Barney, you wicked old bastard..."

As soon as Brock finished speaking, Venom emerged from his neck and asked, "What's wrong, Brock? I notice you've suddenly become very upset, which is the complete opposite of when you were drinking that ice-cold beer."

Brock said, "It's really nothing, I'm just about to lose my job."

Unemployment itself is nothing, but what devastates Brock is the consequences of it.

This means that everything I currently own—my rented apartment, the black pepper beef pizza I eat every day, and my favorite ice-cold beer—will all be gone.

Even in the worst-case scenario, his girlfriend, Anne Weying, would leave him.

After all, no girl wants her other half to be an unemployed bum.

As for finding a new job...

It's worth noting that the Globe and Globe is the largest newspaper in San Francisco.

After Brock was fired by the Globe and Barney resigned voluntarily, no news company here will hire him.

"But didn't that guy just say that as long as you can give him an irresistible reason within a week, he won't fire you?"
