But what truly devastated Edward was seeing himself acting crazy in the video.

"This...is me?"

Edward pointed at the video on his phone, looking bewildered.

“That’s right, that’s exactly what you looked like just now. If Batman hadn’t given you some special medication, you would probably still be in this state.”

Gordon coaxed, "We know that Bane injected you with some kind of drug, which is why you are like this. I don't think you want to be tricked by that guy named Bane so easily, do you?"

After hearing Gordon's words, Edward realized that he had been tricked by Bane.

Bane seemed to have no intention of cooperating with him at all, but only wanted him as cannon fodder to investigate Batman's background.

Damn it!

Edward immediately made a decision: sell Bain first.

As for the fact that he is a riddle teller, he'll just deny it to the death.

The only problem was the Riddler uniform that I had left at Bane's place.

However, he always wears a pair of purple gloves when he goes out, so his fingerprints would never appear on them.

From this perspective, there seems to be no flaw.

These guys won't find any evidence that they are the Riddler; they'll only believe that they are Edward, who was deceived by Bane and poisoned.

Thinking of this, Edward immediately said, "I know where Bane is, I can lead the way for you right now!"

Batman and Gordon exchanged glances, a surge of joy welling up inside them.

If we can successfully capture Bane, it will be a great thing.

After all, judging from what this guy has done, he poses a considerable threat to Gotham!

Half an hour later, Batman entered Bane's hotel room through the window, only to find it empty.

“Gordon, if Edward isn’t lying, then Bane and his guys have already moved to a different location.”

Bruce turned on the communicator and spoke to Gordon.

In the police car downstairs at the hotel, Gordon angrily slammed his hand on the steering wheel.

"Oh shit!"

------

In an underground hotel in Gotham City, a zombie carrying a box of GL11 Venom serum retrieved from Edward's house asked, "Master, it seems that Edward is too weak. He was subdued by Batman in no time."

Upon hearing this, Bane shook his head: "No, it's just that Batman is too strong. But I discovered his weakness; his physical body is still only within the realm of mortals, it's just that his suit is excessively powerful."

Chapter 259 Each and Every

Having missed their target, Batman and his crew returned to Arkham Asylum somewhat speechless.

In the hospital room, Edward helplessly insisted that he had not lied.

But the others completely ignored him.

After locking Edward alone in the room, Gordon and Batman went to the smoking room at Arkham Asylum.

Gordon lit a cigarette and took a deep drag.

"By the way, do you think Edward lied?" Gordon asked, exhaling a puff of smoke.

Batman waved his hand dismissively to disperse the secondhand smoke around him, and said with a hint of helplessness, "I don't think Edward is lying, at least not about where Bane lives. He has absolutely no reason to lie."

Gordon immediately sensed the hidden meaning in Batman's words and asked, "At least in this matter? Do you still suspect Edward is the Riddler?"

Batman nodded: "That guy told me, so I think it's probably true, but I haven't found any strong evidence to prove it yet."

“If that’s what he said, then maybe Edward really is the Riddler.” Gordon knew that the person Batman was referring to was Depp, so he immediately agreed with this view.

However, he was not optimistic that Batman would be able to find evidence to prove that Edward was the Riddler in a short period of time.

"I don't think you'll be able to find evidence that Edward is the Riddler anytime soon, unless..."

Gordon hesitated, as if he wanted to say something but then stopped.

“Unless something happens, I don’t think you’re the type to leave things unsaid,” Batman said directly.

Gordon continued, "Unless we release Edward now and catch him red-handed when he commits another crime."

This is indeed a good method.

However, the price could be that innocent people might die at the hands of the Riddler again.

Furthermore, enough people have recently escaped from Arkham Asylum, and Batman definitely doesn't want to release Edward, who is suspected to be the Riddler, now.

"I think he should stay in Arkham Asylum for now. There are already enough crazy guys out there."

Batman said in a deep voice, then called Joseph over.

A sleepy-eyed Joseph looked pale and weak, with an angry Harley Quinn beside him.

"Is there anything I can help with?" Joseph asked.

Harley looked annoyed: "I said, aren't you guys going a bit too far by keeping us up in the middle of the night? What's wrong? We need to go back to sleep!"

Gordon looked embarrassed upon hearing this. He had to admit that it was really not good to bother Joseph and his wife repeatedly late at night, but there was no other way to deal with it for the time being.

Batman, without any embarrassment, said directly, "Edward isn't doing well, and you'll need to take good care of him lately."

Take extra care?

Joseph immediately understood Batman's meaning and said, "Don't worry, I'll keep an eye on this guy, and there won't be any more escape attempts."

“Then we’ll be going now. I’m so sorry to have bothered you so late,” Gordon said.

Upon hearing this, Harley immediately said with disdain, "Let's go, let's go, no need to see you off!"

After leaving Arkham Asylum, Batman and Gordon parted ways.

The former returned to the Batcave and, along the way, captured several lunatics who had escaped from Arkham Asylum before returning to Wayne Manor.

The latter returned to the Gotham Police Department with Harvey Bullock, continuing their grueling night shifts.

As dawn broke, Alfred looked at Bruce, who had just fallen asleep, with a worried expression.

"Even someone as powerful as Young Master must sometimes feel powerless, right?"

In the days that followed, Bruce and Gordon worked together to bring back a few guys who had escaped from Arkham Asylum every day.

Correspondingly, the two of them fought until dawn almost every day.

Until one day, Barbara finally snapped.

"James, do you even remember you have a home?" Barbara said angrily. "Do you even remember your wife and daughter waiting for you to sleep at home?"

Gordon was speechless after Barbara's retort, as he felt guilty.

During this time, he has been busy catching those deranged criminals and has not been able to take care of Barbara and Little Barbara at all.

"I......"

"What do you mean, 'you'?! Look at yourself now! Don't you notice your hair has been thinning more and more these past two weeks? If you keep staying up late every night like this, you'll go bald!"

Hearing Barbara's words, Gordon subconsciously touched the top of his head.

He immediately noticed that his hair seemed to have thinned out and no longer felt thick and smooth as before!

"Damn it, I really can't keep staying up all night like this, or I'll become a bald sheriff!" Gordon put his arm around Barbara's shoulder and comforted her. "I know, I'll be home before midnight from now on, I promise!"

Upon hearing this, Barbara leaned into Gordon's arms and said with satisfaction, "That's more like it. Tonight we'll have baked prawns!"

On the other hand, Bruce immediately expressed his understanding after receiving the notification that Gordon needed to be home before midnight every night.

He knew Gordon was different from him.

Besides Alfred, Robin is my only other companion; they are all partners I can fight alongside.

Gordon, however, is different. He has a wife and daughter, and he has to balance fighting crime with taking care of his family.

Furthermore, family is both a haven in one's heart and a vulnerable point that enemies can easily reach.

Bruce was unwilling to have this weakness, though he never realized that Alfred and Robin already did.

For the next month, Bruce continued his relentless pursuit of those who had escaped from Arkham, working night after night.

Gradually, the electrocutioner, the ventriloquist, the mudface, and others were all recaptured and returned to Arkham Asylum.

Bruce finally breathed a sigh of relief when he removed the last name from Arkham's fugitive list.

"These guys have finally been caught and brought back!"

Bruce muttered to himself, then tensed up again.

"Perhaps Bane will make his move against me tonight!"

"We still can't let our guard down!"

On the way back, Bruce dragged his extremely tired body, constantly talking to himself to keep his mind focused.

In Smallville, Depp ran out of his own villa.

He had just received a call from Bruce informing him that all the guys who had escaped from Arkham Asylum had been captured and brought back.

"Looks like Bane is going to make his move today!"

"I need to go keep an eye on Bruce, in case that tragedy of gay backs really happens again."

Depp was surrounded by silver lightning before disappearing from the spot and heading straight for Gotham, leaving only a pale blue trail behind him.

In the underground hotel, Bane was all ready to go.

After carrying an entire oxygen tube of GL11 Venom, he headed straight for his destination.

He knew that all the guys from Arkham Asylum had been taken back today.

Now is the perfect time for me to make my move!

Furthermore, he needs to ambush the other party's house in advance.

Wait until the other party is home and most relaxed, then break out from the shadows and deliver the most fatal blow!

"Boss, do you need us to come with you?" the zombies asked.
