The door to the antique shop opened, and Depp greeted the third uninvited guest of the day: "Good evening, Batman."

Chapter 17 The Uninvited Guest (Part 2)

“It seems you’re not surprised by my visit,” Bruce said.

Depp noticed that Bruce's voice was completely different today; it seemed to be disguised and sounded more mature.

In addition, Batman's physique is several times more imposing than Bruce Wayne's, giving off a tremendous sense of intimidation when he stands in front of him, as if the suit has altered and disguised his original physique.

Depp said, "Batman's name has been known all over the place for a while now. A figure with two pointed ears and a black cloak appeared outside the door. Do you think I can guess who it is?"

Bruce sneered and strode to the front desk, saying, "So you stay up all night to prevent me from coming to you? That makes sense; people who have done something wrong are naturally afraid of bats coming to their door."

“Mr. Bat… I think you’re being a bit too narcissistic.” Depp pointed around the shop: “Didn’t you notice that my shop was just burgled by a despicable thief?”

Upon hearing this, Selena, who was hiding under the front desk, was so angry that she plucked a tuft of curly leg hair from Depp's pajama bottoms.

Bruce looked around and realized that although the antique shop wasn't completely in a mess, many items were scattered haphazardly on the tables and floor, clearly different from when he last visited.

Could it be that I've made a mistake in my suspicions?

Bruce wavered slightly and then abandoned the ridiculous idea.

For the past three weeks, I have dealt with many despicable criminals and brought them and their crimes to the police station.

He witnessed the police taking these guys inside and not letting any of them out.

Today, I must make Depp, this uncontrollable factor, controllable, even if it means using some special methods.

For example... intimidation.

Depp's vision blurred as a black batarang was embedded in the wall behind him.

"You'd better repent for your crimes now, or the batarangs will be stuck in your body next time."

Depp turned around, pulled out the batarang, flicked it in his hand, and said dismissively, "Is this Batman? Intimidating someone who is completely innocent? Do you think you are justice and that you will never make a mistake?"

Bruce was somewhat flustered by the questions. He thought his intimidation would make Depp reveal his secrets, but he never expected Depp's counterattack to strike so hard at his heart.

However, Bruce did not do anything drastic; he was just struggling with his decision.

As Depp said, was what he did during this period really justice?

Depp saw the other person's reaction and knew he had made the right bet.

The newly debuted Batman was impulsive and arrogant, and full of vengeance.

But deep down he was kind; he had his own bottom line and always upheld his vow not to kill.

Depp threw the double-barreled shotgun at Bruce Wayne and said, "If you think you can convict an innocent person without any evidence or investigation, then you can choose to shoot me dead."

First, because his parents were shot and killed, Batman swore he would never use a gun again, at least not a lethal live ammunition gun.

Secondly, firearms are too noisy and bulky for a night owl like Batman, especially Depp's double-barreled shotgun, the sound of which would definitely wake up many people around.

Third, he bet that Batman wouldn't be so ruthless as to kill someone based solely on his own conjecture.

Fourth, and most importantly, he installed a remotely detonated miniature bomb in the shotgun. If Bruce ever considered picking up the shotgun, Depp would not hesitate to press the detonation button.

For his own safety, he didn't care whether Gotham still had Batman to protect him.

Not to mention that, based on the comics, Gotham was originally just shrouded in gangsters and collusion between the police and criminals, but since Batman appeared, a large number of supervillains have emerged, and even the original gangs have been destroyed as a result.

Based on the above four points, Depp felt comfortable handing the shotgun to Bruce.

Just as Depp expected, Bruce had no intention of touching the shotgun and even took a step back.

"Do you think I would believe there are still good people in this city?" Bruce retorted stubbornly. "I think the probability is close to zero."

“You’re right,” Depp agreed at first, then changed the subject: “But it’s not zero, which is much higher than the probability of South Korea having sportsmanship, isn’t it?”

Bruce thought for a while, and tried to say something several times, but finally gave up on refuting it.

Depp continued, "At least I think Detective Gordon of the GCPD and Bruce Wayne of the Wayne family are good people."

"Detective Gordon was ostracized and even threatened because he refused to collude with other police officers. Bruce, on the other hand, was a womanizer, but since returning to Gotham, he has devoted himself to developing Gotham's charitable work to help the poor."

"Could you... say they aren't the light in Gotham's darkness?"

Hearing this, Bruce, who was originally upset, was somewhat surprised. It turned out that in the eyes of ordinary people, he was such a good person.

He hesitated for a moment, then said to Depp, "Maybe I'm wrong. But... you'd better not give me any leverage."

With that, Bruce flicked his cloak and left.

He has other tasks to complete today.

Depp walked out of the antique shop, peered around cautiously to make sure Batman was really gone, then closed the creaking door. Turning back, he saw Selena sitting on the counter in an extremely alluring pose, her long, beautiful legs swaying back and forth in front of Depp.

"You're really good at flattering people," Selena said with a smile.

The two looked at each other for a second, then spoke at the same time.

"You know he's Bruce Wayne!"

"You knew he was Bruce Wayne?"

After saying that, the two of them burst into laughter. If Bruce had been eavesdropping outside the door at that moment, he would probably have been furious.

“How did you know he was Bruce?” Depp asked.

Selena recalled what had happened a few weeks ago and said:

"The little bat smells the same as Bruce Wayne."

"I hadn't designed this outfit when I first encountered the little bat. I was inspired by the cute little bat."

"So, how did you know?" Selena countered.

Depp gave a thumbs up and said, "Your nose is really sharp. As for me... Bruce bought a porcelain vase from me three weeks ago."

Selena looked behind her: "Is that the fake I almost smashed?"

“That’s right, Bruce spent a million to buy it,” Depp said, suppressing a laugh. “And I just realized that Batman’s chin looks a lot like Bruce’s.”

“One million!” Selena exclaimed. “You dishonest, unscrupulous businessman!”

She clearly didn't believe Depp's nonsense.

Just then, Depp received a message from Natasha.

"Depp, are you really not considering joining the Avengers?"

Natasha has been calling and messaging Depp quite a bit during this time, but most of the time she's been introducing Depp to S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Avengers program, and has been trying to get Depp to participate.

"No, no, this is really bad for your health."

Without a second thought, Depp sent his sixth rejection text. What a joke, asking him to join the Avengers?

Putting aside the fact that I can't enter the Marvel universe at any time, the main issue is... what kind of enemies have the Avengers been fighting all this time?

It's Loki the evil god and the Chitauri army, it's Ultron, it's Thanos with the six Infinity Stones!

What level of talent does Johnny Depp have to join the Avengers? Am I even qualified to fight? No! I don't have that ability, you know?

Besides, there's not much salary to be had, why would I risk my life with you guys?

Depp's rejection message had just been sent when the long-absent system notification sounded again.

"All elements are complete, allowing for two-way science popularization. Successful science popularization will randomly select one special ability from each side, one fragment of the introductory lens, and one female intimate hero talent skill draw card."

Chapter 18 Cats and Spiders

Depp was surprised that the previously silent notification from the Science class had suddenly appeared after he returned to Gotham. He glanced at Catwoman beside him and then initiated a video call with Natasha.

The video call connected, and Natasha was wrapped in a bath towel, her hair was wet, and water dripped from the ends of her hair onto her collarbone and chest.

Natasha picked up a towel and haphazardly dried her hair, the messy strands making her look even more alluring.

"Have you changed your mind?"

Natasha had just finished showering, and she only put on the towel after sending a message to Depp. In fact, she hadn't even had time to read Depp's rejection text message.

With his supercomputing abilities, Depp immediately calculated Natasha's true cup size. He then switched the video screen to Selena's side. Catwoman, looking at the red-haired beauty who had suddenly appeared on the video screen, asked in confusion, "Your lover?"

No, that's not true.

Depp answered their questions with a single sentence: "Hello Natasha, this is the beautiful and charming Catwoman, a Robin Hood-like thief in Gotham City."

Natasha leaned closer to the phone, frowned, and said with the expression of an old man on the subway, "So you're a latex enthusiast? You like this kind of... uh, animal bodysuit?"

She wondered if she should seriously reconsider Depp's eligibility to join the Avengers. Was this guy some kind of psychopath?!

Oh well, there aren't many normal people in the Avengers anyway, so one more weirdo with strange fetishes won't make a difference.

Anyway, I don't have any latex suits.

“No, I didn’t! My relationship with both of you is completely innocent!” Depp retorted. “I just wanted to introduce you two to each other, since you’re both my friends.”

Friend? Selena chewed on the word repeatedly, her feelings complicated.

Depp continued, "And Catwoman is incredibly agile and has an exceptionally flexible body."

Her body is incredibly flexible... Natasha is saying, "You still say you're not a pervert? You know she's incredibly flexible!"

Natasha held her phone up slightly, at an angle that perfectly showcased her face and the softest parts of her body.

After giving a brief introduction to Catwoman, Depp began to explain Natasha to her.

"This is the sexy and alluring Agent Natasha Romanoff, known as the Black Widow, a veteran agent of S.H.I.E.L.D."

Upon hearing the words "S.H.I.E.L.D.", Selena instinctively took a step back towards the door.

S.H.I.E.L.D.? That sounds a bit like the Gotham City Police Department. Are they here to arrest me?

Depp saw through Selena's little scheme and explained, "Don't worry, S.H.I.E.L.D. and Gotham City Police Department are completely different. They have to deal with major events concerning the survival of humanity, and they don't have the extra energy to bother with you."

Seeing that Selena had relaxed again, he continued, "Natasha is proficient in a variety of fighting techniques and has the ability to detect and infiltrate. I think you two are... very similar."

Very similar? Selena saw something unfathomable in the video, and not to be outdone, she grabbed her left arm with her right hand, then gently pulled her arms together, her flexibility no less than Natasha's.

Depp was shocked. "Is this something I can watch for free?"

However, the system notification sound stopped Depp's nosebleed from nearly erupting.
