People are in Hogwarts, What the hell is the flood system?

Chapter 19: Eighty is the age of struggle

After a long while, Rhine calmed down from his excitement.

The start of Hogwarts was still more than a month away, and he had some important things to do outside of Hogwarts.

The Fire Control Wish and Spirit Beast Breeding talents were also extremely practical.

The former would not only give him a natural advantage in fire-based spells, but also bring great convenience in subjects such as alchemy and potions that require temperature control.

The latter would allow the magical creatures raised by Rhine to be more likely to break through bottlenecks and gain stronger power.

For example, the group of Acromantulas in the Forbidden Forest were already 5X-level magical creatures. If Rhine could further cultivate them, the combat power of this group of Acromantulas alone would be terrifying.

And then there was the Basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets, a thousand-year-old Basilisk!

Rhine even suspected that if this thing were placed in the Primordial World, it could at least be considered a monster that had achieved some success, right?

If it could continue to be cultivated, it would undoubtedly become a great help to Rhine.

Since cultivating immortality was still a distant prospect, Rhine naturally couldn't abandon magic.

Therefore, before going to Hogwarts, Rhine had to obtain these two talents.

The next day.

Diagon Alley.

Rhine, wearing his loose robe, strode down the street.

When passing Gringotts, he felt that the security of Gringotts seemed to have become quite strict. Goblins were guarding the entrance, watching every wizard passing by with scrutinizing eyes.

At the same time, outside Gringotts, Rhine also saw a notice offering a reward for clues about wizards proficient in the Stunning Spell who had appeared near Gringotts.

Seeing this scene, a strange expression appeared on Rhine's face.

Did Gringotts think that Griphook and the others were stunned by some powerful Stunning Spell?

Well, in the magical world, they would indeed think of these things in this way.

So, Gringotts' posture seemed to be that they thought someone was plotting against them.

Rhine's expression became even stranger.

He certainly knew that soon, on the same day that the savior Harry Potter entered the magical world, Voldemort would possess Quirrell and break into Gringotts.

He just didn't know if his presence as a butterfly would add some trouble to Voldemort's break-in plan?

But soon, Rhine put these thoughts behind him.

He arrived at Ollivander's Wand Shop.

Ollivander obviously hadn't forgotten Rhine's previous performance. Seeing Rhine's arrival, a look of joy appeared on his face.

"Mr. Rhine, your timing is perfect. I've had some inspiration for wandlore these past few days."

"Come, try these wands."

As he spoke, Ollivander handed Rhine several wands.

While cooperating with Ollivander in his strange tests, Rhine chatted with Ollivander, trying to build a closer relationship.

If he could reach the level of a close friend, he could obtain the Fire Control Wish talent.

But after a full two or three hours, although Rhine and Ollivander became more familiar, it was clear that Rhine felt he was still far from a close friendship.

At most, they could be considered casual acquaintances.

He thought about it and realized that Ollivander was so old that the sum of his two lifetimes might not even be half the years that Ollivander had lived.

At this age, and being a world-renowned wandmaker, he was surrounded by people singing his praises.

Even if he was very helpful to Ollivander's wandlore research, it wouldn't be a matter of days to become close friends with him.

It might take several years!

The time Rhine could spend in Diagon Alley was only a little over a month before the start of school, and he didn't have that much time to wait.

"It seems I have to find a way to build a closer relationship faster."

After thinking for a moment, Rhine had an idea.

To build a closer relationship with someone, of course, one had to start with what they cared about most.

What did Ollivander care about most?

Wands, of course, went without saying.

From the sign hanging at the entrance of his shop, and the information Rhine obtained from the Harry Potter originals, it showed that this old Mr. Ollivander had the ambition to surpass Gregorovitch and become the number one wandmaker in Europe, or even the world.

Just like the Ollivander family, the Gregorovitch family was also a family of wandmakers passed down through generations.

Gregorovitch had even obtained the Elder Wand in the past. As a wandmaker, it was not impossible to gain inspiration from the Elder Wand, and perhaps even improve his skills.

Ollivander couldn't even surpass Gregorovitch, and he probably had to do his best to prevent Gregorovitch from overshadowing his reputation.

No wonder he was so old, yet he still wanted to do wandlore research.

If Rhine wanted to build a closer relationship with him, after thinking about it, he still had to start from this aspect.

A moment later, while Ollivander was frowning and pondering the problem, Rhine asked.

"Mr. Ollivander, the wand and the wizard choose each other and achieve each other, this is the theory you have repeatedly mentioned to me."

"But are there some special wands that, without the talent of the wizard, have the power to allow every wizard who wields it to exert unparalleled abilities?"

Hearing Rhine's question, Ollivander's expression changed slightly, and he slowly nodded.

"Yes, of course."

"That is the most famous wand in the history of the magical world."

"Elder Wand, Deathstick… it has many names."

"Legend has it that any wizard who wields the Elder Wand will be invincible in any duel. It is recognized as the most powerful wand."

"Why do you ask this?"

Rhine said excitedly.

"Has Mr. Ollivander ever seen such a powerful wand?"

Ollivander gritted his teeth.

"No."

Then, he took a deep breath, as if he had thought of something, and his expression became even more unsightly.

"Many people think that the Elder Wand is just a legend, and I once thought so too."

"But I have some doubts, suspecting that this wand was once obtained by an old rival of mine, otherwise his wandmaking level could not have increased so much in such a short period of time."

"But he certainly couldn't keep the Elder Wand for very long, unfortunately, but it seems to be a good thing."

Immediately, Rhine chatted with Ollivander for a while about the rumors of the Elder Wand.

Ollivander's eyes also revealed a longing for the Elder Wand.

Seeing that the atmosphere was almost set, Rhine's eyes flashed, and he asked curiously.

"The Elder Wand should be at least a thousand years old by now, right? After so many years, the skills of the magical world have continued to develop, shouldn't we be able to create a wand more powerful than the Elder Wand?"

"Mr. Ollivander, why don't you try it?"

Ollivander was stunned and pointed at himself in surprise.

"Me?"

"Make a wand more powerful than the Elder Wand?"

Rhine took it for granted.

"Of course."

"You are Mr. Ollivander, the greatest wandmaker in the world."

"What could be more inspiring to a wandmaker, or more able to spread his skills, than creating a wand comparable to or even surpassing the Elder Wand?"

"Think about it, your so-called rival, even if he obtained the Elder Wand, would he have the determination to surpass the Elder Wand?"

"No, only you are likely to have such excellent ideas. If you succeed, who else would be worthy of comparison with you?"

In Ollivander's eyes, a light gradually lit up, and he muttered to himself.

"Yes."

"It's been a thousand years, why can't we surpass the Elder Wand?"

But a look of hesitation appeared in his eyes again.

"But my age, I'm already over eighty years old."

Rhine said decisively.

"Eighty years old is the age to strive for, Mr. Ollivander, I will also do my best to help you!"

Ollivander's expression was moved, as if great ambitions were reviving, and he looked at Rhine with a much closer expression.

"Okay."

"Let me try to challenge this impossible feat."

"When will the Ollivander family become the number one in Europe, ah no, the world? It will be in my generation!"

A smile appeared on the corner of Rhine's mouth.

For a wizard who regards wandlore as his lifelong pursuit, what could be more likely to build a closer relationship than a grand and difficult common goal?

Plan accomplished!
