Courtyard House: My Time Travel is a Bit Too Strong
Chapter 327 At this point, she wasn't completely bad.
"He invited you to dinner? For no reason at all, could it be that he's taken a liking to Yu Shui?" Qin Huairu asked in a low voice.
"It's not that bad," He Yuzhu waved his hand. He had a fiery temper and was impatient, but he was very perceptive.
"What did you eat?" she asked again.
"Beef, mutton, and tripe," he said truthfully.
"So extravagant?" Qin Huairu was taken aback.
"Sister Qin, I'm going now." As soon as she finished speaking, she stepped out the door.
At this time, Qin Huairu and He Yuzhu were just neighbors separated by a wall, helping each other out, and had not yet developed any other intentions.
With the seasonings he prepared himself, the flavor in the pot immediately came alive, with a richer aroma and more complex layers.
Lin Quan chewed on the piping hot slices of meat, secretly pondering: how to get Yu Zhu to willingly cook for him every day.
"Ah Quan, why are you so quiet?" He Yuzhu asked, picking up a piece of tripe.
"Yuzhu, are we taking a break from the fishpond tomorrow?" Lin Quan asked casually.
"I'm on a shift schedule at the factory, I can't leave," he answered readily.
"Then I'll go by myself. If I catch a few lively ones, you can stew a pot of them when you get back tonight, okay?" Lin Quan smiled and shook his chopsticks.
"Okay!" He Yuzhu nodded readily.
"I'll go get some water." Lin Quan got up, opened the door, and went out.
"Brother, there's so much food, we probably won't be able to finish it all," He Yushui muttered softly.
"What do you want to do?" He Yuzhu turned his head.
"I'll ask Brother Quan later if we can share some of the leftover meat and vegetables with the deaf old lady?" She blinked.
"Beef and mutton are expensive, and people may not be willing to part with them." He Yuzhu frowned slightly.
He hurried to the toilet, only to find Qin Huairu squatting by the well washing clothes.
"Sister Qin, washing clothes again?" Lin Quan asked with a smile.
Jia Geng, Jia Dang, and Jia Huaihua were young, and it was common for them to roll around in the mud. Their clothes were almost always covered in dirt, and they had to soak in a basin every few days.
"Ah Quan, what fancy dishes did you prepare today?" Qin Huairu didn't respond to the previous question, but instead asked about the food.
"I got a few pounds of beef and mutton, and a tripe. I can't finish it all by myself, so I'll grab Tiezhu and we'll have a couple of drinks together." Lin Quan grinned.
Qin Huairu was beautiful, with a firm waist and a lively spirit in her eyes and brows, which did indeed attract him somewhat.
In the years after Jia Dongxu left, she remained a widow, supporting her family and raising her three children with remarkable care and strength, proving herself to be more resilient than many women.
At least for now, life hasn't worn her down; her heart is still warm, her hands are still diligent, and she's still a reliable person.
"Ah Quan, you know what's going on in my family..." Qin Huairu began to ramble on about her difficulties.
"Sister Qin, how about this—you help me tidy up the house and do the cleaning, and I'll pay you ten yuan a month. Are you in?" Lin Quan asked directly.
"Really?" A glint flashed in Qin Huairu's eyes, half surprise and half doubt.
"Why would I want to fool you? I'll pay you this month's wages right now." Lin Quan casually pulled out a brand new ten-yuan note.
There were only a handful of decent-looking young women and wives in the compound: Qin Huairu, Lou Xiao'e, Yu Li, and He Yushui.
In terms of figure, Qin Huairu is the most well-proportioned and upright; Lou Xiao'e and Yu Li are also quite plump, while He Yushui is rather thin.
Yu Li and Lou Xiao'e already had their own leaders, and He Yushui was too inexperienced to be included in his plans at all.
How could a man full of vigor and passion remain indifferent to a beautiful and alluring woman?
Those who practice martial arts are naturally fiery, and if they were to get closer to Qin Huairu, their only concern would be gossip from the neighbors and a stain on their reputation.
But Lin Quan had lived two lives and had long since regarded empty fame as fleeting clouds.
These days, entertainment is scarce. Farming, fishing, and sunbathing are all ways to pass the time.
"Well... I'll just have to swallow my pride and accept." Qin Huairu gripped the money tightly, her fingertips trembling slightly.
"Sister Qin, I'll entrust the house, the house, and my few changes of clothes to you from now on." Lin Quan smiled broadly.
"Ah Quan, if there are any leftovers, could you spare some for me?" she asked tentatively.
Half-grown boys can bankrupt their parents; Banggeng, Xiaodang, and Huaihua are in the prime of their growth spurt.
With a monthly salary of 27.5 yuan, I'm barely making ends meet.
The average cost per person was less than five yuan, and the children's school fees were waived. It goes without saying how poor the family was.
In the countryside, there are fish in the pond, vegetables in the fields, and you can even catch a wild rabbit in the ditch; but in the city, everything costs money, from firewood and rice to oil, salt, soy sauce, vinegar, and tea, and each expense weighs heavily on your shoulders.
After urinating, Lin Quan went back inside and continued to drink and eat.
Half an hour later, He Yushui put down her chopsticks.
"There's still a lot of beef and mutton left. Tiezhu, take one portion to the deaf old lady, and I'll take the other to Sister Qin." Lin Quan quickly divided the meat, one plate heavy and the other bright and fresh.
"Okay!" He Yuzhu readily agreed.
Madam Jia was worried that her daughter-in-law would marry someone else, and this wariness was reasonable—at this point, she wasn't completely bad yet.
No one is born wanting to go astray. Most people go astray simply because life has gradually pushed them into a corner.
In Jia Zhangshi's eyes, if Qin Huairu really went with someone else, she would have no hope of taking care of herself in her old age, and the future of her grandchildren would also be uncertain.
When Lin Quan arrived at the Jia family's door, he raised his hand and knocked on the door three times.
"Who is it?" Qin Huairu's clear voice came from inside the house.
"It's me," Lin Quan replied.
As soon as the door opened, she caught a glimpse of the meat on the tray, and her lips immediately curled into a smile: "Ah Quan."
"Sister Qin, these are all leftovers, don't think they're too shabby," Lin Quan said, handing them over.
"No problem at all!" she quickly took it, her voice light and cheerful. "Thanks!"
"Then I'll head back now." Lin Quan nodded and turned to leave.
Back in my room, I went into space and took a hot shower.
I lay down on the bed for only a few minutes before my breathing became labored.
Just after six o'clock in the morning, there was a soft knock on the door.
Lin Quan sat up, put on a thermal undershirt, and went to open the door.
As he dressed, Qin Huairu rolled up her sleeves and began sweeping the floor, folding the blankets, and wiping the table.
After packing up in about ten minutes, she slung her cloth bag over her shoulder and hurried off to the machinery factory.
Lin Quan then flashed into Earth and picked up a Handing brand threaded steel fishing rod...
Tear off the packaging and pour all the different types of bait into the enamel basin.
"Fishing through holes in the ice, I wonder if these commercial baits will be effective?"
Even if I come back empty-handed, I can just go to the Earth Market and buy two fresh fish.
Carrying his fishing rod, earthworm container, bamboo basket, and sturdy nylon bag, Lin Quan hopped on his slightly worn bicycle and left the courtyard.
"Ah Quan, where did you get this car?" Yan Bugui raised his eyebrows as he looked up.
"I just bought it last month, and it's been sitting there untouched," Lin Quan replied casually.
"Going fishing by the river today?" Yan Bugui smiled, his eyes narrowing.
"Mm." Lin Quan nodded.
"What a coincidence, I was just thinking about that too." Yan Bugui slapped his thigh. "The old river bend area is fertile, we're sure to have some goods today."
"Uncle, shall we go together?" Lin Quan turned his head and asked.
"I couldn't ask for more!" Yan Bugui readily agreed.
