Courtyard House: The Cultivation System Takes Me Flying
Chapter 166 Returning to the True Dao Heart - Eternal Immortality
After their journey through heaven and earth, the ancient Chang'an homeland remains as peaceful as ever. After appreciating the beauty of the world, everyone and all spirits have become more clear-headed and serene. Qin Lintian's path of returning to the heart, amidst the eternity of time, the companionship of family, and the tranquility of heaven and earth, has reached the ultimate state of returning to one's true self and achieving eternal immortality.
Upon his return, Qin Lintian sat quietly by the Myriad Spiritual Springs of the Origin Spiritual Realm, closing his eyes and concentrating his mind, recalling all the past years: from the peaceful initial intention in his mortal courtyard, to the perseverance in building an eternal home, from the protection against evil spirits, to the relief of a peaceful world, from the warmth of a complete home, to the carefree wandering of heaven and earth, all the myriad Daoist principles and experiences ultimately returned to a true Daoist heart that protects family, safeguards home, cherishes warmth, and remains true to its original intention.
There were no earth-shattering vows of the Great Dao, no arrogant thoughts of looking down on the world, and no obsession with pursuing supreme power. His Dao has always been very simple: family peace, home tranquility, harmony among all spirits, and purity of heaven and earth.
It is this most simple, pure, and gentle Dao heart that moves heaven and earth, nurtures spiritual energy, transforms all spirits, and achieves eternity; it is this true Dao heart that never forgets its original intention that enables him to fight against all evil, protect heaven and earth, and ensure that his homeland lasts forever, immortal and indestructible.
When Qin Lintian opened his eyes again, there was no dazzling divine light or overwhelming pressure in them, only a warm, clear spring, pure and transparent, encompassing all things. All paths return to their true nature, the Great Dao is formless. His Dao is no longer external power and strength, but the warmth and protection internalized in his heart, the original intention and peace engraved in his soul.
Between heaven and earth, a melodious Daoist chant resounded, not with awe and intimidation, but with gentle resonance. The origin of heaven and earth completely merged with his Daoist heart. From then on, he was Wan Gu Chang An, and Wan Gu Chang An was him. He lived as long as his home, coexisted with heaven and earth, and shone as brightly as the sun and moon. He truly reached the supreme state of returning to the true nature of the Dao and eternal immortality.
Within the home, all members, along with all spirits and beings, felt this gentle Daoist charm. Without words or guidance, their hearts were closely connected with Qin Lintian's Daoist heart and intimately intertwined with the home's origin. Warmth, unity, symbiosis, light, peace, tranquility, abundance, blessings, and longevity... all the Daoist charm of the home transformed into the purest true meaning, engraved deep within the soul of every being.
Qin Huairu stood quietly outside the spiritual realm, gazing tenderly at Qin Lintian's figure. She didn't understand the profound mysteries of the Great Dao, but she understood his original intention, his perseverance, and that all his protection was for this family and for those around him. This understanding was the gentlest companionship of the Dao heart.
He Yuzhu put down the kitchen knife and solemnly nodded towards the direction of the spiritual realm. Having lived a life of worldly affairs, he understood the preciousness of stability and the rarity of protection. Qin Lintian's path was the most reassuring stability in his heart.
The four elders and their families—Jia Zhangshi, Jia Dongxu, Yan Bugui, and Liu Haizhong—were all at peace. They did not need to comprehend the Great Dao; simply guarding this tranquility and cherishing this warmth was the best response to their Daoist heart.
The four children nestled close to their family, blinking their clear eyes. They didn't understand what eternity meant; they only knew that as long as Uncle Lin Tian was there, as long as their family was there, as long as their home was there, they would always be happy and always at peace.
All spirits prostrate themselves in gentleness, and all living beings bow in reverence. They are born in harmony with their homeland and share the same heart with the heavens and earth. Their true nature is the foundation of their eternal peace.
Qin Lintian slowly rose and walked out of the Origin Spirit Realm. His white robes remained unchanged, his demeanor as gentle as ever, without the slightest alteration. Yet, this made the aura of the entire family even softer, more complete, and more eternal. He walked to his family, gently took Qin Huairu's hand, looked at the peaceful and joyful faces before him, and whispered, "Our Dao hearts have returned to their true nature, solely for the purpose of protection. In the years to come, we will remain the same, forever unchanged."
Everyone nodded in unison, their eyes filled with determination and warmth.
The path of returning to one's true self is not the path of one person, but the path of the whole family, the path of all spirits, and the path of home.
Eternal immortality is not about the immortality of one person, but about the immortality of family, the immortality of all spirits, and the immortality of home.
From this point on, the eternal foundation of Chang'an was completely perfected:
Take our original aspiration as our root, firmly planted in the world, and never waver;
With warmth as its backbone, it supports our home and will never wither.
With unity as our bond, we connect all of us, never to be separated;
With symbiosis as its leaf, it shelters all living beings, never withering;
With light as its flower, it blooms with peace and harmony, never dimming;
May you find joy in simplicity, and achieve fulfillment, never experiencing bitterness.
Within the home, everything remained as usual: the morning dew lingered in the spiritual garden, the spiritual stream murmured endlessly, the wind chimes tinkled softly in the tranquil pavilion, the eternal light of the longevity lamps shone brightly, the spiritual food pavilion was warm with the smoke of cooking, the star-sleeping cloud bed was cozy with peaceful dreams, the altar of all spirits resonated with spiritual melody, the elegant music of the spiritual zither was melodious, and the spiritual beings moved about with lively energy. Everyone was at ease and at peace, and all the spirits were gentle and harmonious.
It has not become solemn and dignified because of the return to the true nature of Tao, nor has it become distant and indifferent because of its eternal immortality. Chang'an remains a home full of life, warmth, tranquility, and joy, a peaceful and pure land where families stay together, all spirits coexist, and spiritual charm accompanies one another.
Qin Lintian remains that gentle guardian, still taking morning walks with his family, playing with his children, chatting and sipping tea with the elderly, enjoying peace with all living beings, and playing with the lively spirits. His path is never lofty or aloof, but rather integrated into every moment, every bit of warmth, every smile of his family, the peace of all living beings, and every inch of his home.
Only by returning to one's true self can one understand the profound simplicity of the Great Way.
The greatest eternity is not conquering the world, but protecting one's family;
The most supreme Daoist principle is not boundless power, but enduring warmth;
The most immortal existence is not the sun, moon, and stars, but the companionship of family.
Heaven and earth turn, years change,
Generations of mortals come and go, and life continues to be born and die.
Only Chang'an remains eternally unchanged;
Only when all members of our community stay together and never leave;
Only those who uphold the Dao and attain immortality will achieve true enlightenment.
As the last rays of the setting sun bathed the entire Eternal Home in golden light, the zithers tinkled softly, the wind chimes jingled gently, laughter rose, and all spirits rejoiced, their ethereal beauty mingling with a warm and tender atmosphere. Qin Lintian stood shoulder to shoulder with his family, gazing at the peaceful scene before him. His eyes held not the glory of the Great Dao, but only gentle contentment.
The true nature of the Tao is attained, eternally and eternally.
With a pure heart, one finds peace; with a thousand paths, one finds eternal joy.
May our homeland be forever safe and our loved ones remain; may Chang'an be a vast and eternal city.
