Dragon Clan: I, Nono! Inherit countless futures!

Chapter 27 The red Ferrari roared through the darkness.

"Fresh flesh and blood..."

"I've seen humans again..."

"So thirsty, so hungry..."

A hoarse, low voice echoed in the space, in some ancient language, sounding like chanting or weeping, yet Chu Zihang could inexplicably understand it; something seemed to be awakening in his mind.

He covered his ears in terror, but the sounds seemed to be ringing directly in his mind, impossible to block out.

The road surface became increasingly slippery and muddy, and the Maybach's engine roared under the strain, forcing it to slow down.

The dense swarm of ghostly figures immediately pounced on them, their eerie golden eyes gleaming with nothing but a thirst for flesh and blood.

Luxury cars became their prisons, and perhaps even their final burial coffins.

Just then, a white light emerged from the darkness.

Chu Zihang suddenly heard the neighing of horses, an overwhelming neighing that sounded like thunder being roared from the mouth.

"Listen to your father, don't stray too far from me, but don't get too close either." The man turned to look at Chu Zihang: "Don't be afraid, just like when I took you to fly a kite when you were little."

Chu Zihang nodded.

He had no idea what was happening, nor what those terrifying ghostly figures were, until he saw what was standing in the white light, and his worldview collapsed.

It was a magnificent steed as imposing as a mountain, its eight strong legs making a thunderous sound with each thud. A huge black shadow sat on its back, carrying a curved spear.

That's Odin, the chief god of the Aesir in Norse mythology!

But he should only exist in words and murals!

"Get out of the car," the man said in a low voice.

Chu Zihang mechanically followed the man out of the car and stood side by side with him in the bright white headlights. He was speechless, but he held the man's hand tightly.

"Don't be afraid, because being afraid won't help. This is the real world. You've always been disobedient before, but this time you must listen to me..."

The man whispered in Chu Zihang's ear, "Remember, don't leave me, and don't get too close. But when I say run, you run towards the car. Don't look back, don't look back!"

Chu Zihang nodded tremblingly and followed the man toward Odin.

"I know what you want, but I don't think you'll let us go even if I give it to you," the man said to God.

"Anyone who has been to this country can return to it; therefore, everyone who comes here must be a servant of God."

"The negotiations have broken down." The man said to Chu Zihang, "Remember what I told you, now... run!"

Almost before he finished speaking, Chu Zihang turned and ran away without a second thought.

Behind him, the man brandished his long sword, blocking the pursuing shadow. In the darkness, the man's sword flashed like a silver swallow.

Chu Zihang finally jumped into the car, shouting into the rain, "Dad!"

"Son! Drive!" the man yelled at Chu Zihang. More and more dark shadows rushed towards him, and thick, blood-red mist rose from his body.

Chu Zihang suddenly understood that the man was trying to lure all the shadowy figures surrounding them to his side, using himself as bait.

But in that case, he wouldn't be able to leave, or rather... he never even considered leaving.

He was risking his own life to save Chu Zihang's.

Chu Zihang stared blankly at everything before him, cold liquid streaming down his face. He didn't even realize he was crying.

He suddenly had a feeling that he was going to lose this man, lose him forever.

"Son, believe in your old man! Only if you live will we ever see each other again!" the man roared. "Don't worry about me, let's go!"

The roar of the engine suddenly erupted, and the Maybach crashed into an invisible curtain of rain, plunging into the thick darkness.

Chu Zihang's mind went blank. He mechanically drove the car, the Maybach speeding through the rain. The car stereo had been turned on at some point, and that Irish folk song started playing again.

This time, Chu Zihang suddenly understood the song and remembered what the man had said: "You'll understand in the future."

Now he finally understood, but what about the man? The man might already be dead.

Tears streamed down his face. He suddenly slammed on the brakes, the tires screeching as they rubbed against the car. Raindrops pattered against the car as the Maybach came to a stop on the empty viaduct.

The whole world fell silent, and all that could be heard was the sound of the wind and rain, and that Irish folk song.

"Start! Start!" he suddenly yelled at the center console, but the engine didn't respond. He pounded on the steering wheel, screaming in despair, "I told you to start it!"

The engine emitted a low, weak sound; the car had reached its limit and could no longer be driven.

Chu Zihang slammed the car door open and jumped out, running wildly against the wind and rain.

He regretted it, he suddenly felt incredibly regretful, he wanted to go back, he wanted to find that man.

Odin and the shadowy figure were all irrelevant at this moment. No matter how frantically he ran, all he could see was darkness until his legs gave way and he collapsed to his knees.

At that moment, he finally realized that he was going to lose that man forever, a complete and utter loss. It was the end, a farewell, something that could never be recovered, and the "I'm sorry" that he could never say again.

Chu Zihang could no longer hold back and broke down in tears.

Just then, the roar of the engine rang in his ears, and a beam of white light pierced through like a sword, illuminating the overpass.

Chu Zihang stared blankly as a red Ferrari, as red as flames, roared towards him, accompanied by a sharp, cold wind and the screeching sound of tires rubbing against the ground, before coming to a steady stop in front of him.

The girl, also with red hair, raised her dark red eyes and looked down at the disheveled Chu Zihang, uttering two concise words:

"Get on the bus!"

Scattered sounds came again from afar, and golden lamps lit up one after another in the darkness.

Those were the monsters catching up; their shrill laughter, like the cries of a baby, echoed through the space, creating a terrifying scene reminiscent of hell.

Chu Zihang stumbled and ran into the car. Just as the door closed, the girl slammed on the gas pedal, and the Ferrari crashed into the guardrail, hurtling against the approaching shadows.

The girl, expressionless, shifted gears to reverse, then shifted again, accelerated, and crashed into it once more, then a third time, a fourth time…

Only after they smashed through the railing did the gold in the eyes of those shadowy figures dim, like a lamp that had run out of oil.

Throughout the entire ordeal, the girl simply watched calmly, her high red ponytail swaying gracefully. The shadowy figure was struck, its limbs flying everywhere, yet she didn't even lift an eyelid.
