Dragon Clan: I, Nono! Inherit countless futures!
Chapter 16: Transaction, or Blow-up Orders
"The situation was chaotic. The torpedo hit the dragon at the last moment, so we weren't frozen, but the shockwave was still terrifying."
"Before I lost consciousness, all I saw was the dragon roaring in pain. Fortunately, its massive body blocked most of the shockwave, which is probably why we survived."
"But I don't know much about what happened after that. I was hit by the shockwave and fell into a coma."
In the principal's office at Kassel College, Fingel, his body wrapped in bandages, handed over his mission report. Before him stood the well-dressed, seemingly polite old gentleman.
Angers nodded as he flipped through the mission report, indicating that he understood.
The Greenland project was undoubtedly a failure.
Their target was the Dragon King's embryo, but although the bomb was dropped, it was blocked by the dragon servant. No one knew whether the embryo was affected, and in any case, the heartbeat could no longer be detected.
Not only that, the entire diving team was wiped out, and Chen Motong managed to snatch Fingel and EVA from the jaws of death.
EVA is still unconscious in the hospital's intensive care unit, and Professor Schneider is in the room next to hers.
Because his lower body was almost entirely frozen, Schneider's legs were likely ruined, but fortunately, he survived.
Although EVA is unconscious, she is still alive, which can be considered a stroke of luck amidst misfortune.
They paid such a heavy price, even deploying a British royal nuclear submarine, only to kill one dragon servant.
"That girl, does she have the same Word Power as you?" Angers asked.
"Yes, I would never be mistaken." Fingel nodded firmly. "But her bloodline should be above mine, because when I was her age, I couldn't use Word of Power at all."
"Serial number 87, Bronze Throne..." Angers murmured to himself, seemingly deep in thought.
Seeing this, Fingel couldn't help but ask in a low voice, "Headmaster, who is that girl?"
"I visited Professor Schneider, and he said that the nuclear submarine came to rescue the girl."
"Yes, the academy doesn't have that kind of resources to mobilize a British Royal Navy nuclear submarine; that was sent by the Gattuso family," Angers replied.
"But isn't that girl Chinese? What's her relationship with the Gattuso family?" Fingel asked, somewhat puzzled. "How important must she be for them to go to such lengths for her?"
"Who knows?" Angers said, closing the file and looking up at Fingel. "Is EVA still not awake?"
Fingel's eyes dimmed for a moment, and his tone became low: "No, the dragon blood saved her, but it also put her into a coma. This is very rare, there is almost no precedent for it."
"So nobody knows when she'll wake up."
Upon hearing this, Angers sighed softly, patted Fingel on the shoulder, and ultimately said nothing more.
Meanwhile, in a coastal city in China, tens of thousands of kilometers away, at the Chen Family Manor.
"It doesn't matter if you die, but if I die, how will you explain yourself?"
The dagger plunged deep into his chest, and drops of bright red blood fell like plum blossoms blooming in the snow.
But the red-haired girl seemed oblivious to the pain. She looked at the man before her, a slight smile playing on her lips, her expression growing even brighter: "Father, what do you say?"
The man's face was extremely gloomy, and his deep eyes reflected the girl's beautiful yet crazy smile.
"Chen Motong, do you know what you're doing?"
He finally spoke, enunciating each word clearly: "You think you can threaten me like this?"
"Whether it can pose a threat or not, we'll find out by trying."
The girl forcefully pulled out the dagger, and blood splattered on her face. The bright red color contrasted sharply with her pale complexion, and her dark red eyes stared unblinkingly at the man, like a beautiful ghost crawling out of hell.
"Let's make a deal, Father."
The man didn't speak, he just stared at her with a gloomy expression.
Ignoring his reaction, Chen Motong continued, "Since they chose me as their fiancée, I'm sure they'll give you quite a few benefits, right?"
"But are you really content to remain Gattuso's lackey forever?"
"What do you want?" the man said coldly.
"Work with me, withstand their pressure for me, give me a few years, and I'll fight for more benefits for you, and even help you break free from Gattuso's control. You know I have that ability."
The girl shrugged, not even bothering to wait for a response, and continued, "If you're unwilling, then send a corpse to Italy. Don't you have resurrection technology? Go resurrect me."
As if she had just thought of something, she suddenly laughed, a bright and unrestrained laugh: "I just wonder if the Gattuso family will think you're incompetent."
"They even used a nuclear submarine to save me, so they seem to value me quite a bit. If they knew I died at your hands, do you think you could still be the head of the family?"
Chen Motong was initially unaware of her significant influence within the Gattuso family.
But she remembered that in the original story, when Nono and Lu Mingfei were on the run around the world, the Gattuso family's first reaction was to eliminate Nono and find Caesar a new fiancée.
Therefore, it seems that Nono is not the only option.
But perhaps because Chen Motong had fabricated a lot of stories about that woman in white, the Gattuso family seemed to be paying extra attention to her this time.
When the British Royal Navy's nuclear submarine appeared, Chen Motong knew that she now had the leverage to negotiate.
Her only bargaining chip was her life.
She made it clear to the man in front of her that he either had to help her deceive the Gattuso family and buy her a few years to grow before using her to gain benefits, or he could wait for her to die and be held accountable.
The man seemed to be deep in thought, but in reality, he had no choice.
After an unknown amount of time of silence, just as Chen Motong was about to give himself another blow to urge him on, the man suddenly spoke.
"You don't want to go to Italy? Fine, but in exchange, I have one condition."
"What?"
"You must make Caesar fall in love with you, become his fiancée, and eventually marry him, becoming his wife." The man spoke slowly, his tone leaving no room for negotiation: "This is the mission you must complete."
He thought the girl would react strongly to this request, but to his surprise, she nodded casually.
"Okay," Chen Motong replied casually, as if it were a very insignificant matter.
The girl casually tossed the dagger aside, lay back on the bed, and said casually, "Then go and get me a doctor now, see if there's any chance of saving me."
Seeing her nonchalant attitude, the man frowned.
"Were you never prepared to die in the first place? Are you just using this to threaten me?" the man suddenly asked.
"No, I'm just weighing the pros and cons."
Without looking up, the girl said calmly, "Compared to being sent to Italy by you, death is an ending I can accept more."
