Chapter 37: Heroic Humans Defeat the Evil Sea King

Next, the tide of the battle turned completely.

The human warriors, who received a powerful temporary blessing, have temporarily enhanced their speed, strength, and reaction time to a level that is sufficient to confront, or even surpass, the Sea King warriors.

The hatred and anger that had been building up for two years, mixed with the surging power within him, finally erupted completely.

They roared, abandoning all finesse and launching a ferocious, primal attack on the enemy before them.

"What's going on?! These humans... how did they suddenly become like monsters?!"

"Damn it! My attack was blocked! Where did their power come from?!"

"No way...this must be a nightmare! Wake up!"

The Sea King warriors went from initial shock to disbelief and panic.

Their sturdy shells cracked under the force of the rough weapons.

Their swift attacks were parried or dodged by humans at an even faster pace.

The tide of battle turned instantly, and the Sea Kings began to suffer heavy casualties.

Fear spread rapidly.

Some of the aquamans were so terrified that they threw down their weapons and tried to escape or knelt down and begged for mercy.

Some went mad, shouting "For the Sea Dragon God and His Majesty the Sea Emperor!" and fighting like cornered beasts.

Others were bewildered and lost, overwhelmed by hesitation.

However, the human side was already bloodthirsty, their hearts filled only with deep-seated hatred.

"Surrender? What right do you have to surrender?!"

"When you tore my sister to pieces in public, did you ever give her a chance?!"

"My father was only trying to protect my mother, and you cut off his head! Blood debts must be repaid in blood!"

"Kill! Leave no one alive! Use their blood to commemorate all our fallen loved ones!"

The cries for mercy were drowned out by the roars, and the battle quickly turned into a one-sided reckoning.

Whether Aquaman fights, flees, or surrenders, all that awaits them is a merciless and deadly attack.

The flames of rage consumed everything until the last Aquaman, covered in blood, collapsed amidst the ruins.

When the last enemy fell, only heavy breathing and the sound of weapons hitting the ground remained in the wilderness.

The silence lasted only a moment, and then, like a dam breaking, the long-accumulated torrent of emotions erupted violently.

"Dad! Mom! I've avenged you! Hahaha... I did it!"

A young man knelt on the ground, crying and laughing, pounding the ground with his fists.

"Dead... They're all dead... Hahaha... Great... They're all dead..."

The other man looked around at the corpses of Aquaman scattered on the ground, his eyes empty yet filled with a crazed pleasure, and murmured repeatedly.

"Leila, and our children...do you see? I've avenged you..."

A middle-aged man stroked the half-piece of blood-stained coarse cloth in his arms, the only thing his wife had left him. He roared to the sky, tears mingling with blood as they streamed down his face.

Weeping, laughing wildly, screaming, roaring...

Everyone, in their own way, vented the complex emotions of despair, pain, hatred, and the satisfaction of finally getting revenge that had been building up over the past two years or even longer.

Many people collapsed to the ground, exhausted, their bodies trembling from the intense emotional turmoil and the battle they had just fought beyond their limits.

Billy leaned on the dark blue harpoon, panting.

He could feel that, at the very moment the last enemy breathed his last, the vast and warm power within him receded like a tide, disappearing without a trace.

A familiar feeling of weakness enveloped him again, but it also brought with it the real sense of surviving a disaster.

Looking at his compatriots around him, some in a frenzy, others in grief, and the many more who had fallen forever, he felt little joy in victory, only a heavy sadness and self-reproach.

"I...I'm still too stupid, too cowardly," he muttered to himself, his voice hoarse.

"If I had been able to let down my ridiculous guard this morning, truly trust that man, and beg for his help... perhaps..."

"Perhaps Mark's brother, old Tom, and so many of his compatriots... wouldn't have had to die."

"This power...this miracle, it has always been there."

A deep sense of remorse gnawed at his heart; he felt an inescapable responsibility for the deaths and injuries of his people.

Mark walked over to him, patted him on the shoulder, and tried to comfort him: "Don't say that, Billy. How could you possibly have known? If it were me, I wouldn't have believed a stranger who suddenly appeared."

"Who knew... that being would be so... unbelievable."

"Seriously, Billy, do you think he... is still really 'human'?"

Billy fell silent.

He can easily control the powerful Aquaman and grant hundreds or thousands of people the power to be reborn in a short period of time.

This was completely beyond his understanding of "humans" and even "powerful magicians".

He gave a wry smile and said in a hoarse voice, "That sir... has probably already transcended the realm of 'human'..."

No sooner had he finished speaking than a calm and clear voice rang in his ear, startling him: "Billy, talking badly about people behind their backs isn't a good habit."

Billy turned around abruptly and looked around, but saw no one.

"If you want to see me, come to this temple they built. I am here," the voice continued, pointing in the direction.

Billy composed himself and said to Mark, "The lord summoned me, I'll be right back. You stay here and watch over everyone."

"I'll go with you!" Mark said immediately, his voice unconsciously rising.

This attracted the attention of other people in the vicinity.

"What's wrong? Where is Billy going?"

"Is it that mysterious being who secretly helped us?"

"Billy is our leader; we can't let him take the risk alone!"

"Yes! We should go too! We should at least thank our benefactor in person!"

Mark gave a brief explanation, which only fueled the crowd's excitement.

Having just experienced life-or-death situations and revenge, they were filled with gratitude, awe, and curiosity towards the unknown being who had granted them power and turned the tide of battle.

At the same time, they were also worried about Billy going alone.

Billy tried to convince everyone: "The temple isn't very big, and the adults only said they wanted to see me..."

"Then at least let me come along!" Mark insisted.

"Let's go too! We can wait outside!"

"Our benefactor saved our entire clan; how can we not personally express our gratitude?"

Seeing the resolute attitude of the crowd, Billy knew he couldn't refuse.

Finally, surrounded by everyone, they arrived at the newly built temple of the Sea Dragon God, which had not yet undergone any sacrifices.

The magnificent yet rough stone building stands in the night, exuding an eerie tranquility.

Billy stopped in front of the door, turned to the crowd and said, “Gentlemen, the master has specifically summoned me alone. The situation inside the temple is unclear, so we should not rush in all at once, lest we offend him.”

"Please wait here, I will come out as soon as possible."

Despite their reluctance, the group reluctantly agreed, considering the possibility of angering the mysterious being.

They all urged Billy to be careful and nervously watched the dark entrance to the temple.

Mark squeezed Billy's hand tightly: "Be very careful, call us immediately if anything goes wrong!"

Billy nodded, took a deep breath, and walked into the temple alone.

He passed through the deep portico and the empty front hall and arrived at the most central sacrificial hall.

The walls of the main hall are carved with rough and twisted images of sea dragons.

At the far end of the main hall, an even taller and more ferocious statue of a sea dragon cast a long shadow, illuminated by several self-illuminating pearls.

Before the statue, with its back to the entrance, stood a figure standing quietly.

The figure tilted its head slightly, seemingly intently examining the eerie statue, and did not immediately react to the person behind it.

Billy suppressed his nervousness and excitement, and bowed respectfully: "Sir, I've arrived."
