Naruto: Starting with Creating a Genius Persona
Chapter 72: Konoha Tradition
In the Ninth Training Ground, during a conversation between Minato and Tsunade.
Several figures appeared one after another: Shinichi, Kurenai Yuhi, Kakashi, and a girl with short brown hair and a gentle smile—Rin Nohara.
Both sides showed some surprise upon meeting, but quickly exchanged brief greetings.
Kakashi merely glanced at him indifferently, which was his way of greeting him; Shinichi, Kurenai, and Rin greeted him politely.
After exchanging greetings, they each headed towards the area where their respective teachers were located.
However, the moment Minato Namikaze saw Shinichi, his eyes lit up, and the gentle smile on his face instantly became even brighter, even carrying an almost impatient enthusiasm.
He swayed slightly and stepped forward, blocking Shinichi's path at just the right moment, asking earnestly:
"You must be Shinichi Higashino? The one who developed the 'Shinichi Higashino Light Blade Launch: Super Dance Roar Spiral Ball'!"
? ? ? ? ?
What a ridiculous name.
After he finished speaking, a brief silence fell over the training ground.
Even Tsunade, who was watching the show with her arms crossed, couldn't help but raise an eyebrow, giving him a look that said, "What the hell is this kid talking about?"
Shinichi was also taken aback. He blinked and asked tentatively, somewhat uncertainly, "Senpai, are you talking about the Rasengan?"
"Shinichi Higashino" should refer to the name of the technology developer, that's correct.
"Light Blade Activation"? Could it be the inspiration that came from seeing Asuma's glowing chakra blade?
"Spiral" is the core form of the technique, describing the rotating movement of chakra.
"Maru" refers to the spherical shape that the technique ultimately condenses into.
So, what the heck are "Dance Howl" and "Super Dance Howl"?
Is it simply a modal particle that sounds cool or handsome?
Shinichi's brain was racing, trying to decipher this strange name using Minato Namikaze's rather unique naming brain circuit.
"Right, right, right! Rasengan! Look at me, I accidentally said the name I gave it, ahahaha..." Minato Namikaze only realized it then, and scratched the back of his head somewhat awkwardly.
"I-I'm sorry," Minato explained with a smile, trying to ease the awkwardness, "I just thought your technique was so outstanding that I couldn't help... um, I came up with a name for it, Rasengan is a great name! It's also very concise!"
This kid is surprisingly naive in some ways.
Tsunade glanced at Minato, who was still trying to maintain a cheerful smile, and silently complained to herself.
Despite being a genius Jonin with exceptional strength and a sharp mind, he has such a peculiar bias when it comes to naming.
Just then, another figure rushed in through the entrance to the training ground.
Silently came running up, panting, with fine beads of sweat on her forehead and her face flushed from running and anxiety.
"I'm so sorry! I'm late!" She apologized hastily while catching her breath, her gaze quickly sweeping over Shinichi and Kurenai before finally settling on Tsunade. Her eyes held a clear sense of relief mixed with a subtle hint of complaint: "Tsunade-sensei! So you were here. I woke up this morning and didn't see you. I thought you'd..."
She didn't finish her sentence, but her meaning was already clear: she assumed Tsunade had gone to some casino or tavern again and hadn't returned all night, completely forgetting about the important task of leading the team in the test today, which was why she was in a hurry to find her and wasted time.
Tsunade's lips twitched as she looked at the girl she had raised: "In your eyes, am I really that unreliable?"
Upon hearing this, Shizune pursed her lips but did not answer directly.
Seeing this, Tsunade was even more speechless. A vein seemed to throb on her forehead. She waved her hand impatiently: "Alright, alright, stop standing there like an idiot and get back to the group! Next time, remember to come straight to the meeting point and don't wander around looking for things!"
Minato Namikaze, standing nearby, wisely turned his gaze into the distance, pretending to study the trees in the training ground, as if he hadn't heard anything.
Just then, the last person to arrive at the entrance of the training field arrived, accompanied by his signature loud shouts and a series of hurried, chaotic footsteps approaching from afar.
"I'm so sorry! I'm late!!!"
Obito Uchiha sprinted over at top speed, also covered in sweat, his goggles askew, his face filled with anxiety and frustration.
Rushing forward, he nearly hit Kakashi due to unsteady braking. He quickly regained his balance, bowed, and apologized: "I'm so sorry, Minato-sensei! On my way here, I encountered an elderly woman whose cane had fallen into a ditch. She was having difficulty bending over, so I helped her pick it up. However, she said she couldn't see the road clearly and asked if I could help her cross the street. After crossing, the old lady said she couldn't find her way home. She's old and her memory isn't good, so I helped her carry her things and asked people along the way based on her vague description. It wasn't easy to get her home!"
"Then on my way here, I encountered a black cat that suddenly jumped down from the wall and blocked my way, staring straight at me. No matter how I tried to get around it, it wouldn't let me pass, which delayed me for a while..."
After listening quietly to Obito Uchiha's detailed description of his act of helping others, Minato Namikaze smiled and said, "Alright, Obito, rejoin the team."
Obito Uchiha straightened up as if he had been granted a pardon, wiped his sweat, and quickly stood next to Rin, even secretly making a face at the expressionless Kakashi.
Tsunade, arms crossed, looked at her three students who had finally all arrived, then glanced at Team 7 who were already gathered nearby. Suddenly, as if remembering something, she raised an eyebrow and said:
"Watergate, it's no fun if each class just tests their own. How about we have a joint test?"
"A joint test?" Minato paused slightly, looking at Tsunade.
Tsunade called Minato aside and whispered a few words to him. After hearing Tsunade's suggestion, a hint of hesitation flashed across Minato's face, but he finally nodded and handed one of the two bells he had prepared for his class to Tsunade.
The two then returned to the front of the group. Tsunade stepped forward, cleared her throat, and sharply scanned the six young faces before her—some calm, some nervous, some excited—before proclaiming in a clear voice:
"Listen up, kids from Class 7 and Class 10! The test rules are very simple!"
Tsunade weighed the bell tied with a red string in her hand, and Minato also raised the one in his hand.
"See these two bells? Minato and I will each keep one. Your task is to snatch them from us within the allotted time!"
"There are only two bells! The person who grabs the bell passes the test immediately! If a class manages to grab both bells simultaneously, then everyone in the class passes!"
At this point, Tsunade's voice suddenly became more forceful:
"As for that other class without bells—the entire class is eliminated! Get back to the Ninja Academy, study for a few more years, and think carefully about whether you're really suited to be a ninja!"
