Evil Red Dragon

Chapter 24 Gifts and Development

This strike contained not only all of Kula's magic, but also the will of the orc ancestors.

Gru's pupils dilated sharply.

Don't try to take it head-on!

He instinctively tried to dodge, but stopped as soon as he took a step.

In those gradually dimming eyes before me, there was no desire for victory, no fear of death, only a mad, obsessive determination.

Gru suddenly understood.

This is not a battle to be won.

This is a ceremony to prove that the orcs' former glory still exists.

Then Gru did something that shocked all the spectators.

He raised his battle axe high with both hands, flames erupting all around him, and charged straight towards Kula.

"bring it on!"

Gru roared:

"Let me see the glory of the orcs!"

Kula was taken aback for a moment, then smiled with relief.

"Thanks."

With his last ounce of strength, he brought down the double axes.

At the critical moment, the sky suddenly darkened, and a huge black shadow, accompanied by a hurricane, crashed to the ground.

Alecto descended from the sky, his left claw slamming against the side of Gru's battle axe, forcefully deflecting his charge, while his right claw reached out to meet Kula's descending double axes.

There was no earth-shattering explosion, no devastating energy surge.

The moment the dragon claw clashed with the battle axe, the magic power that Kula had gathered melted away like ice and snow, and the ancestral phantom quietly dissipated in the dragon's might.

The audience was silent.

As the dust settled, Alecto remained unmoved, but the ground beneath his feet cracked open for dozens of feet.

He stared at the old shaman kneeling on one knee.

The mad obsession that Kula had witnessed had faded to ashes, and its aura was rapidly waning.

"I understand your will."

The battle axe in Kula's hand shattered into pieces, turning into scattered specks of light.

He could no longer hold on and fell forward, but Goron rushed forward and caught him.

The old shaman struggled to open his eyes and looked at Alekto:

"My lord...have we disappointed you?"

Alektor did not answer; he turned to all the orcs and trolls:

"Though Goron was defeated, he displayed the courage befitting a warrior. Kula sacrificed his life to prove that his glory had never been extinguished..."

He looked at Gru:

"And you, Gru, you could have avoided the final blow, but you chose to respect your opponent's resolve. That's more valuable than victory."

Gru lowered his head: "I just didn't want to leave any regrets from that battle."

"very good."

Alector spread his dragon wings, and his dragon might enveloped the entire arena:

"Kura, your courage and perseverance deserve an exception. I will bestow upon you dragon blood and make you a dragonborn."

Alektor's words were like a thunderclap, exploding in the hearts of all the orcs and trolls.

Granting dragon blood? Making an exception?

Goron suddenly raised his head, his eyes flashing with disbelief.

Kula, nestled in his arms, trembled as she opened her eyes, her murky pupils reflecting the crimson dragon's body.

"Master, Master..."

Kula's voice was weak:

"I don't deserve it..."

Whether someone is a good match or not is up to me.

With a flick of his claws, Alecto sent beads of blood seeping from the scales on his chest, hovering in mid-air and radiating a chilling dragon's might.

"Kura, your will is worthy of you becoming my dragonborn."

The blood droplets slowly drifted toward Kula.

Kula struggled to sit up, knelt on the ground, and tremblingly cupped the drop of dragon blood in her hands.

"Drink it."

Without hesitation, Kula tilted her head back and swallowed the dragon blood.

The next moment, a painful roar burst from deep in his throat.

Kula's body began to swell, and crimson lines gradually covered its entire body.

His bones cracked and popped, his hunched back straightened little by little, and his thin muscles regained their fullness.

Dragon blood is fundamentally reshaping his body.

Hang in there!

Goron shouted anxiously.

Kula gritted his teeth, veins bulging on his forehead.

He could feel the dragon blood surging through his body, tearing and rebuilding every inch of his flesh.

Time passed second by second.

When the last groan of pain subsided, Kula slowly opened her eyes.

The turbidity in his eyes disappeared, replaced by a fierce glint in their crimson.

His emaciated body became strong and vigorous again, and his lifespan was greatly extended.

Kula felt like she was back in her youth.

"What am I doing...?"

He murmured, raising his hand to look at the extended, sharp claw blades.

Level 5, Intermediate.

Years later, he regained his peak strength and appearance, and even faintly touched the threshold of the fifth-level high-end stage.

More importantly, he could sense the connection that had been established with Alecto.

It was a resonance deep in his blood that made him instinctively want to submit and pledge allegiance.

"Thank you for your grace, Master!"

Kula prostrated himself, filled with unprecedented devotion.

Alecto nodded slightly, his gaze shifting to Goron:

"As for Goron, you lost to Gru, so according to the rules, you are not qualified to challenge me."

Goron lowered his head, his fists clenched.

"But I have seen the bravery you have shown. After you have calmed down, go and challenge Gru again."

Alecto swept across the entire field.

All the orcs and trolls knelt on the ground, their eyes filled with awe.

"From this day forward, Kula officially becomes a Dragonborn, on par with Gru, and will jointly govern the Red Peak Territory."

The two demons responded in unison:

"Yes, sir!"

He flapped his dragon wings:

"I want to see progress, unity, and the Chifeng leadership growing stronger every day. If I find anyone slacking off, fighting amongst themselves, or being outwardly compliant but inwardly defiant..."

The dragon's might crashed down, suffocating all the relatives.

"I wouldn't mind replacing them with a more obedient batch."

After saying this, Alector turned and flew back to his lair, leaving his retinue looking at each other in bewilderment.

He didn't care whether Kula's proposal succeeded or not.

He's a red dragon! Those good-for-nothings dare to complain? Do they really think he won't take action? Gru won't take action?

Kula saw this and that's why he rushed over to suggest that he let those good-for-nothings off the hook.

But who is he? Can he just let go like that? So he sent Kula to challenge Gru.

If he wins, he'll let those good-for-nothings go, and he and Kula can put on an act.

If we lose, then we'll wipe them all out!

I never expected that Kula would risk his life for those good-for-nothings. Is it because he has lost too many of his people that he doesn’t want to see his dwindling numbers of people die in front of him?

Alecto returned to his lair, lay down on the pile of gold coins, and let Oliveira roll around on his back.

"Brother, you look so handsome today!"

Little Dragon Girl nuzzled her head against Alecto's neck.

"He's always been handsome."

Alecto said lazily:

"However, we have indeed achieved our goal today. With this battle, the wall between the orcs and trolls has been broken, and Kula will help me completely control the orcs..."

Oliveira peeked out and muttered to herself:

"Brother, you seem quite happy?"

Alector's dragon-like snout slightly raised:

"Of course, a group of warriors with convictions is far more useful than a group of brutes who only know how to obey, and they remind me of the past..."

"before?"

Oliveira tilted her head.

"It's nothing."

At the foot of the mountain, the orcs and trolls began to disperse.

But the atmosphere had completely changed.

The orcs surrounded Gronn and Kula, their eyes filled with envy and awe.

Those young orcs who were initially dissatisfied with the punishment now completely shut their mouths.

Even the great shaman has become a dragon descendant, so what do they have to complain about?

On the troll side, Gru is gathering all the dragonborn warriors.

Gru sat in his chieftain's hut, made of stone and animal hides, with the simple map given to him by Alecto spread out before him.

The map above marks the existing resource points in Chifeng Territory: breeding areas, mines, streams, and the newly designated camp for orcs.

He sat around three dragonborn trolls: Mog, Ug, and Rag.

"My master has placed Kula on the same level as me, which means that from now on, matters concerning the Red Peak Territory will require joint consultation between the two tribes."

Ug snorted, "What do those greens know about construction? All they know is hunting and fighting. The fence of the ranch was built stone by stone by us."

"But there are many of them."

Lagda was relatively calm, a trait that became even more pronounced after his transformation into a dragon: "My master needs labor to develop the territory."

Mog scratched his thick nape:

"Kura has become a dragonborn, and his strength is probably no less than that of Boss Gru. If another conflict breaks out in the future..."

"There will be no more conflict."

Gru interrupted him, his gaze sweeping over his three companions:

"The master's will is clear: the two races must unite. Kula is a smart man; he knows the orcs have no way out and will keep his people in check."

He paused for a moment: "And we can't fall behind either. The master said that if we don't improve, we'll be replaced. All the trolls, including the three of you, must begin training."

"We want our master to see that those who follow him first are always the most valuable."

Rag chuckled: "Chief, when did you become so clever?"

Gru rolled his eyes at him, feigning ignorance.

After becoming dragonborn, their intelligence increased day by day, and they were no longer the idiots who couldn't even count.

The sounds of young trolls chasing and playing could be heard outside.

Gru looked towards the entrance and could see the endless campfires of the orc camp in the distance.

When two tribes live together, friction is inevitable, but the authority of the master is as imposing and unshakable as the Red Peak itself.

As long as Alector is there, the sky over Chifeng Territory will never fall.

Meanwhile, inside the orc camp.

Kula is examining her newly acquired powers.

He stretched out his right hand, palm facing upward, and a wisp of flame slowly condensed.

"The power of shamanic spells has increased by at least 30%."

Kula murmured, "And I can now control fire elements at will."

Goron squatted down beside him and said in a muffled voice:

"You planned this all along, didn't you? Using that method..."

"plan?"

Kula smiled:

"No, I just remembered who I was at the last moment."

He looked towards the summit of Chifeng:

"Goron, we have found a master worthy of our service."

"I know."

Goron clenched his fist:

"I'll make those kids work properly, and if anyone dares to cause trouble again, I'll personally break their legs."

"There's no need to be too harsh."

Kula shook her head:

"The orcs' fighting spirit needs to be guided, not suppressed. Just like today, if I hadn't swung that axe, our master wouldn't have accepted us so easily."

Goron seemed to be deep in thought.

That night, the orcs gathered around the campfire, looking at Kula, who had regained his youthful physique, with awe in their eyes.

Kula's gaze swept over every orc present.

"All able-bodied men of the tribe must participate in the construction of Chifeng Territory. We have much to learn: how to care for livestock, how to mine ore, and how to build more sturdy dwellings. But orcs are never afraid of learning and labor."

"Only by making this land bountiful and our people strong can we live up to our Lord's expectations and the glorious blood that flows within us!"

"For the tribe! For Chifeng!"

The orcs raised their weapons, their growls echoing through the night sky, filled with determination.

Although the estrangement was not completely eliminated after this battle, the orcs now showed genuine obedience, and the trolls began to accept these new barbarians to some extent.

Kula demonstrated amazing organizational skills.

He divided the young orcs into several teams.

One team, led by Gronn himself, was mixed with trolls and was responsible for expanding the enclosure of the breeding area. They also explored the wetlands and caught fish and shrimp as instructed by Alektor, and occasionally went to the work area to knock on iron.

The second team, commanded by several experienced hunters, hunted within designated hunting areas, and the meat obtained was proportionally handed over to the public warehouse.

The third team consisted of women and teenagers who, under Kula's guidance, learned to gather edible plants, herbs, and magical plants, and began to try to cultivate small plots of land beside the stream, planting hardy berry seeds collected from the wild.

After all, orcs, being omnivorous creatures, can eat anything except stones.

Kula always felt that it would be a waste not to plant something.

……

The trolls, on the other hand, focused on what they were better at.

Gru led the dragonborn and a few of the strongest ordinary trolls to explore deeper mines at the foot of Red Peak Mountain in search of more metal ores, which would then be handed over to the orcs for smelting.

It must be said that orcs are much better at delicate tasks like smelting and forging than trolls.

Not to mention, Kula taught the orcs the forging techniques that the tribe had once used.

Mass production of ironware and armor began.

From pure iron maces that are three or four meters long and weigh hundreds of kilograms, to everyday items like pots and pans.

New and unusual things that the trolls had never even heard of before kept appearing.

You know what, it's actually quite useful.

Gru immediately took a liking to the spiked club and abandoned his original broken axe.

He swung the spiked club, which weighed hundreds of kilograms, creating a series of whooshing sounds as it flew through the air. He loved its solid weight.

This made the other trolls extremely envious, and they all followed suit, requesting skilled orc craftsmen to forge one for them as well.

However, this thing requires a lot of iron, and it is quite difficult to forge, so it cannot be made in a short time.

It takes a long time to get them out one by one, so trolls have to wait in line.

And so it happened that trolls would often sneak off with dried meat to bribe orc craftsmen, just to have a spiked club forged for them...

Ug was responsible for overseeing the daily management of the farm, gradually acclimatizing the sheep and cattle to pen life through the soothing bells, and then having the beastmen feed and care for them.

This is another specialty that orcs are well-suited for.

Herding livestock is an old tradition of theirs.

Ragda, with the remaining trolls under Kula's guidance, began building a stronger and taller dwelling.

They've had enough of living with the ceiling above their heads every day.

The two groups cooperate and compare with each other in their work.

The orcs were amazed by the trolls' stamina and strength, while the trolls were intrigued by the orc hunting parties' coordinated fighting skills and the strange knowledge of the shaman apprentices.

Of course, friction also occurs from time to time.

However, under the strict control of Kula and Gru, these issues were resolved quickly.

The Chifeng territory gradually stabilized and began to function normally.

Alecto now rarely intervenes directly in these day-to-day management practices.

He spent most of his time in his lair, processing the ever-surging power within him, preparing for his upcoming breakthrough to level six.

Oliveira seemed to have learned her lesson, sleeping quietly next to him all day long, though her little paws would occasionally dangle from his treasures...
