Jujutsu Kaisen: I have everything I need now!
Chapter 36 On the Eve of the Decisive Battle
2018 12 Month 23 Day.
Tokyo, underground conference room of the Jujutsu High School.
The atmosphere here was so heavy it seemed to drip water. The long conference table was filled with the elite combatants of the current sorcery world.
Gojo Satoru sat in the head seat, unusually not crossing his legs, but instead resting his hands on his chin. Even through the blindfold, his six eyes seemed to emanate a tangible gaze.
To his left are Yuta Otsuki, Kinji, and Maki. To his right are Hisahito Itadori, Nanami, Kosei, and the new moon.
"In other words, that guy Rōzō escaped and his death has not been confirmed. But since Sukuna has already completed the flesh-receiving process, he is most likely hiding and watching the show." Ieiri Shoko leaned against the wall, a cigarette dangling from her hand, her tone lazy and weary.
"The focus now is on Sukuna." Atsuya Kusakabe pointed to the map of Shinjuku on the projection screen. "According to 'The Window's' observations, all the cursed spirits in the Shinjuku area have disappeared. That level of cursed pressure is so intense that even cursed spirits dare not approach."
"Tomorrow is the day of the decisive battle," Gojo Satoru said, his voice steady. "As agreed, I will go to Shinjuku alone."
"No way!" Yuujin Itadori jumped up, his chair scraping loudly on the floor. "Sensei, Sukuna now possesses the Fukuro technique, and there's also that Demon Lord! If it's one-on-one..."
"Yujin," Gojo Satoru interrupted him, "This is a battle for the 'strongest.' If I lose, it's not too late for you to come up."
"If even the teacher loses, going up there would just be suicide, right?" Kinji said, toying with a coin. His tone was frivolous, but his eyes were unusually sharp.
"If I join in, it will only distract the teacher," Yuta Otsukotsu said in a low voice, clenching his fist. "Our mission is to take over the battlefield after Sukuna is weakened, or... in the worst-case scenario."
The meeting room fell into dead silence.
All the plans were based on the premise that Gojo Gosho would win, or at least that he could perish together with Sukuna. This is both a tragedy and a reality.
"I have a suggestion."
A slightly abrupt voice broke the silence.
All eyes immediately focused on the boy in the corner.
As December 1st was fiddling with his newly acquired tactical watch, he slowly raised his head when he sensed everyone's gaze upon him. A kind of almost insane calmness flickered in his clear eyes.
"I'll go first tomorrow."
"Huh?" Maki frowned, tapping the table lightly with the knife in her hand. "December, have you lost your mind? Although you performed well in the Death Journey, your opponent was Sukuna."
"December, this is not the time to be reckless," Yigu also advised, his eyes full of worry.
"I'm not joking." December 1st stood up, placed his hands on the table, and looked directly at Gojo Satoru. "Sensei, you know the characteristics of the Demonic Void, right?"
"Adapt to all circumstances." Gojo nods.
"That's right. Su Nuo now has not only slashing attacks, but also ten shadow spells. If you go in directly, once Mo Xu Luo adapts to the limitless spells, the battle will collapse instantly." December's voice was not loud, but every word was precious. "You need a forward, someone who can force Su Nuo to reveal his trump cards, and even force Mo Xu Luo to make ineffective adaptations."
"And I am the most suitable candidate."
"Reason?" Gojo Satoru didn't refuse directly, but looked at him with great interest.
"Because of my power."
On the first day of the twelfth month, he raised his right hand.
"Buzz—"
The air instantly distorted. The phantom images of twelve runes slowly emerged behind him. This time, they no longer flickered randomly, but formed a perfect circle according to some ancient and mysterious trajectory.
A fluctuation of rules, not yet a cursed power but surpassing it, instantly filled the entire conference room. Kusakabe dropped his pen, instinctively adopting a defensive stance.
"This is..." Kusakabe took a half-step back in shock. "What kind of power is this?"
"This is a unique technique that belongs only to me." December 1st clenched his fist, and the phantom image dissipated. "The adaptation of Demon Void is based on 'Curse Power Analysis'. But how can it adapt to twelve completely different and independent abilities? If it adapts to fire, I will use water; if it adapts to force, I will use soul."
"And..." December paused, her gaze becoming somewhat complicated, "I need to confirm something."
"Confirm what?" Itadori asked.
"It's nothing..."
On the first day of December, he hesitated, wanting to speak but stopping himself. Since forcibly activating his domain in Shibuya, his body had undergone a fundamental change. The talismans were no longer external objects, but had become his organs. He needed an ultimate battle to verify the end of this path of evolution.
Gojo Satoru stared at the new moon for a long time, his six eyes seeming to see right through his soul.
After a long while, Gojo Satoru smiled. He stood up, walked to the new moon, and reached out to vigorously ruffle the boy's hair.
"Granted."
"Gojo-sensei!" Maki and Itadori exclaimed at the same time.
"Don't be so nervous." Gojo Satoru waved his hand. "December is right. That old schemer Sukuna definitely has something up his sleeve. Since December is confident, let him cause some trouble. Anyway..."
He pointed to himself.
"If he can't handle it, I'll step in."
At this moment, the tactics were frozen.
December 24th, the final battle in Shinjuku. First battle: December 12st vs. Ryoumen Sukuna. Second battle: Gojo Satoru.
The meeting ended late at night.
The wind was biting cold on the rooftop of the college.
On the first day of December, he sat alone on the railing, gazing at the brightly lit Tokyo in the distance. Tomorrow, a corner of that city would be reduced to ruins.
Aren't you scared?
Footsteps sounded behind me. It was Maki.
She had cut her hair short, and the burn scars on her face made her look even more cold. She carried a long sword as she walked to December's first day.
"I'm scared," December admitted frankly. "That's a two-faced Sukuna, a monster that can slice people into sashimi with a flick of its finger."
"Then why are you rushing to your death?"
"This isn't suicide, it's a gamble." December turned to look at Maki, "Senpai, how's Mai doing these days?"
Upon hearing her sister's name, Maki's cold expression softened for a moment.
"She's fine. She runs a flower shop in a small town in Hokkaido. She has no magical powers, no Zen family background, just an ordinary girl."
"That's good." December smiled. "This is one of my reasons for fighting."
"You bastard..." Maki sighed and handed over the longsword in her hand. "Take it."
"What? This is what Mayi left for you."
"You can borrow it for a bit." Maki looked into the distance. "This sword can sever souls. Although your fists are hard, it's always good to have more options. Don't break it, or I'll kill you."
On the first day of December, she took the longsword and felt the familiar, faint aura belonging to Maya within its blade.
Thanks.
After Maki left, several more people came up.
Tiger Rod brought the amulet left by his grandfather. Although it didn't have much magical power, the sentiment behind it was very meaningful.
Yi Gu You Tai directly cast a reversal spell on the new moon, which could only last for a few hours, but it was better than nothing.
Finally, it was Gojo Satoru who came up.
He carried nothing with him, simply standing beside the new moon with his hands in his pockets.
"December."
"exist."
"Don't die."
"Teacher, are you setting a goal for yourself?"
"I'm serious." Gojo Satoru took off his sunglasses, his eyes reflecting the starry sky. "Even though I'm the strongest, I don't want to write another eulogy for my students. Hisahito died once, and that feeling was awful."
"Don't worry, teacher." December jumped down from the railing, dusted himself off, and said, "I could die even if I wanted to."
"and……"
On the first day of December, he clenched his fist, feeling the power within his body reaching its critical point.
"I also want to try that so-called 'King of Curses'."
Gojo Satoru watched the boy's departing figure, a smile playing on his lips.
"Then let's go and cause a huge scene."
