I became the slime toy of the evil dragon girl?
Chapter 34 Invitation
What followed was quite simple.
Ian rode Lilith around the half-elf settlement as if he were strolling through his own living room.
At this point, Lilith no longer harbored the same strong resistance to Ian riding on her head as before.
She complained as usual, but her actions betrayed her words.
After completing the tour, Ian finished filling in the last part of the magic network, and the complete magic network map of Sweet Forest was in his hands.
The moment the network pattern was completed, a new talent quietly appeared on the panel: [Magic Network Weaving LV.1]
……
After finishing the work, Ian and Lilith set off back to the camp.
Once the outline of the Sweet Forest is marked, the dwarfs will naturally complete the cutting.
There's even less to worry about in terms of teleportation; Charles is an expert in that area.
His super-giant teleportation array is indeed not very reliable.
But setting up a hundred or so small and medium-sized teleportation arrays was a piece of cake for him.
The only remaining issue is the reception problem at Dragon's Nest.
At the receiving point, like a jigsaw puzzle, create a "Sweet Forest Puzzle" following the original magical thread of the Sweet Forest.
After being teleported to the dragon's lair by "Little Forest," you piece it back together according to the magical pathways, like playing a jigsaw puzzle.
"I wonder if Vivian would find this giant jigsaw puzzle interesting?" Ian thought to himself.
Although my future development in Dragon Territory will definitely depend on some "real talent and skills".
However, the path of being a sycophant should also be retained, after all, he started his business by selling foot massagers.
Ian summarized it this way: Do both things well!
While successfully completing the "demolition" project in the Sweet Forest, he also estimated that he could provide Vivian with an unprecedented, super-large-scale jigsaw puzzle entertainment project.
Ian was even a little impressed with himself: "Dragon Territory has such a talent as me, Vivian is incredibly lucky!"
……
……
When Ian and Lilith returned to the monster camp, they were greeted by a wave of heat and a loud bang.
The camp was bustling like a large construction site, if construction sites allowed for 30 to 50 blasts a day.
Bang! Crash!
"Hey! That explosion angle was perfect, add more next time!"
"Lady Kiki! That's a newly built toilet!"
"Hmm? It's raining? Why does it smell a bit?"
"Hahaha! I thought it was an illegal building."
The air smelled of everything.
The smells of toilets, gunpowder, rust, and candy.
There's also a slightly burnt mushroom smell; maybe someone's dessert got burnt?
The rock monsters carried materials of all sizes and odd shapes, their footsteps creating a dull thud as they walked through the camp.
Kiki led the dwarfs like a group of excited groundhogs, darting around in every corner, with constant clanging and arguing.
Some crystal spiders quietly spun silk, packing magical materials into bundles; the silk threads looked remarkably supple.
Several vampire retinues flew in the air as overseers, their faces paler than usual, probably from anger.
It was chaotic, yet brimming with energetic vitality.
A makeshift platform was temporarily erected next to the tent in the center of the camp.
Charles stood on top, a straw dangling from his mouth, a small box in one hand, and a roll of blueprints in the other, shouting down at the people below.
Although his elegant voice, belonging to the older generation of nobles, was completely drowned out by the dwarf's explosive art and the giant footsteps of the rock monster.
Ian had Lilith land near the high platform.
Having just landed from mid-air and before he could even regain his footing, Charles had already leaped down lightly, his leather shoes touching the ground without disturbing the dust.
The old vampire's dignity was etched into his very bones.
However, the hastily made drink box he was holding didn't look very presentable.
Ian stared at the drink with the strawberry pattern on it and asked, "Strawberry milk?"
Ian's tiny, jelly-like head held a huge question mark: Why don't vampires drink blood, but instead drink milk?
Charles, with a straw in his mouth, squinted and took a big, enjoyable sip: "This... thanks to the humans you brought back, Ian, I've learned how delicious strawberry milk mixed with blood can be."
"..."
Ian never expected that Charles, a vampire, would be so fascinated by strawberry milk.
Charles casually put the milk carton away, his face showing obvious relaxation, and even a slight smile of relief at the corner of his mouth.
When the Gilded Roses were mentioned, Charles seemed to remember something and said a few more words.
"By the way, those three humans you picked up before were pretty good. That little girl named Nicole has a knack for getting them excited; she had those dwarves all groaning. The priestess named Barbara is very skilled at massage... I mean, healing techniques. As for that red-haired one..."
He paused, seemingly considering his words, but ultimately only said, "...Is he an honest boy?"
Ian nodded to indicate that he understood; it seemed that the three temporary workers were quite well-behaved.
"Let's not talk about that, Lord Ian. Welcome back. How is the situation?"
Without wasting any words, Ian took out the complete magic network diagram from his storage space and handed it over with his tentacles.
Although it looked like Ian suddenly "wow" and spat the vascular diagram out of his body.
However, a subtle spatial fluctuation within that jelly-like body still caught the attention of the experienced old butler.
Charles raised an eyebrow, glanced at the slime in front of him with some surprise, and said meaningfully, "It seems your trip has been quite successful..."
He took the diagram and unfolded it.
His gaze swept quickly across the newly added core area.
His brows furrowed habitually at first, then slowly relaxed, and finally he nodded gently.
"Hmm..." He closed the scroll, his tone carrying a sense of relief and satisfaction. "That's all right now. With this, everything else can proceed step by step."
He carefully put the scroll away and looked at Ian: "Thank you for your hard work. Things are settled here. Would you like me to send a message to Lady Vivian for you?"
Ian said, "No need, I can go back by myself."
"Alright, I've prepared the teleportation array back to the dragon's lair, and it's ready to be activated at any time," Charles readily agreed.
"Shall we head back?" Ian turned to Lilith.
The shadow fairy standing to the side, despite the obvious weariness in her eyes, stood ramrod straight.
Lilith has always played her role as a protector very well; as expected, being a chuunibyou (a person with delusions of grandeur) means having some strange obsessions.
Noticing Ian's gaze, she immediately straightened her back and raised her head: "We're ready to go anytime! I..."
Before she could finish speaking, a sweet voice interrupted.
"Oh dear, is Lord Ian leaving already?"
Mirabelle walked over unnoticed, carrying a steaming cup of black tea, looking completely out of place in the smoky camp.
"Having just finished such an amazing job, it's too tiring to travel such a long distance now," she said softly, as if whispering. "I just received some nice snacks and tea. Why don't you rest for a bit and catch your breath before you continue?"
She leaned slightly forward, her clear, large eyes looking at Ian, her smile deepening.
"Consider it... a celebration? And you might find some of the latest interesting news from the human kingdoms interesting."
Lilith immediately narrowed her eyes warily, about to speak, when Ian calmly replied:
"it is good."
Mirabelle's smile brightened considerably: "Then, please come with me. My treehouse may be simple, but the refreshments will certainly not disappoint you."
She gracefully stepped aside to lead the way, the flamboyant decorations on her tutu gently clinking together, making a soft tinkling sound.
Ian nodded to Charles, then glanced at Lilith: "Why don't you relax a bit too?"
Lilith simply gave a soft "hmm".
Charles remained noncommittal, simply picking up the blueprints again and turning to walk towards the noisy center of the camp to continue dealing with his troublesome construction crew.
Ian followed the sweet pink color to a large, hollow tree at the edge of the camp, with a tiny candy-shaped wind chime hanging from its top.
Sunlight filtered through the thin haze of dust above the campsite, falling softly on Mirabelle's meticulously styled hair.
The aroma of black tea, amidst the aftertaste of the explosion and the metallic scent, evokes a sense of incongruous leisure.
Mirabelle turned around and gave Ian a sweet smile.
"Please come in, you two. Let's... have a chat."
