[Description: A frail young witch who is not good at fighting]

Frail? Infant?

Where was your childhood?

Rhodes fired a flaming arrow, which burst forth with crimson flames just before hitting the target.

boom!

After an explosion, the Corrupted Tongue Hagra disappeared without a trace.

No kill notification was received.

Rhodes looked around and found that there were no forks in the passage, so the Corrupted Tongue could only be fleeing inside.

He didn't worry about whether there was a trap.

If we turn back now, the cunning witch may not chase after us.

Finding its trail again next time won't be so easy.

Let's follow them and see.

Rhodes had the stalking technique as a safety net, which gave him confidence.

The passageway was spacious and winding, and could probably accommodate five or six people walking side by side.

The ground was uneven, the light was dim, and sticky vines hung on the surrounding walls.

There was also the sound of some kind of liquid dripping, which was particularly clear in the silent darkness.

Rhodes lacked dark vision and could only rely on the faint light to carefully dodge the vines as he advanced, while remaining fully alert to the darkness ahead.

Sudden.

The sound of something softly exploding came from all around.

Then came the buzzing sound of insects.

Rhodes' heart sank, and he tentatively fired a flaming arrow forward.

The firelight illuminated the entire cave.

One after another, the sticky vines on the floor and walls of the passage burst open, and one after another, black insects the size of a fingernail crawled out.

The insects were so numerous that they resembled a cloud of black smoke.

That's disgusting!

Rhodes was unsure what the consequences of encountering such insects would be.

The buzzing sound all around was quite irritating.

Without hesitation, he fired two more fire arrows in all directions and detonated them simultaneously.

The cracking sound echoed through the passage, and the scorching flames instantly collided with the surging swarm of insects, engulfing the entire passage.

"ah!!!"

From the corner of the passage, the rotting tongue Hagra let out a pitiful cry and slowly revealed its form.

Clothes burning from the flames clung to the greasy skin, emitting a pungent, acrid smell.

It hadn't expected that this human would dare to use such a suicidal tactic, nor had it expected that the other party would survive such an explosion.

The flames on his body gradually died down.

The pain from the rotting tongue subsided slightly, and he took out some medicine from somewhere and drank it.

His venomous yellow eyes were fixed on Rhodes through the flames and smoke.

Rhodes fared no better; he was slammed against the wall by the impact and coughed up several mouthfuls of blood.

The thick smoke around him made it difficult for him to breathe.

Despite feeling dizzy, he picked up several bottles of medicine and drank them all.

"Little bird, are you really human? You have such a high resistance to fire."

Undisguised hatred gleamed in the eyes of the rotten tongue.

After drinking the medicine, his condition improved considerably, and he began chanting again.

No, I can't even breathe properly in this environment.

Let's retreat!

Rhodes finally decided to use the stealth technique.

Rotten Tongue Hagra felt a blur before his eyes, and the other party was at the entrance of the tunnel.

"You can't escape. You'd better stay here and keep your aunt company."

It immediately began chanting a new spell.

Instantly, the green vines inside the cabin burst open.

A larger swarm of insects instantly covered the entrance to the tunnel.

Seeing Rhodes, who had been trying to escape, with his back to him, staring blankly at the swarm of insects, the Rot Tongue's smile became even more cruel.

He slowly took out another bottle of potion, drank it, and then slowly approached Rhodes.

It kept moving forward, its chanting never ceasing.

The ground near Rhodes suddenly became slippery.

Large thorns burst forth from the ground, piercing his legs repeatedly.

Rhodes remained with his back to the Corrupted Tongue, seemingly making no move.

Hage the Rotting Tongue continued to approach, chanting a third spell, when Rhodes, who had been trapped by thorns, disappeared.

Hagra instinctively sensed the danger.

Just as I was about to make a move, I felt a sharp pain in my back.

Then, the mana in his body drained away like a flood.

We must finish him off before he runs out of mana!

This was the last thought in Rotting Tongue's mind.

It instinctively turned around and found that Rhodes' legs were covered in bloody holes from thorns, and his mage robes were tattered.

But somehow several flaming arrows were stuck in its body, and it stood less than a meter away from it, a provocative smile on its lips.

......

On a relatively dry clearing at the edge of the swamp, Harvey and his two companions faced four swamp dogs, each the size of a small water buffalo.

These swamp dogs are no longer true creatures, but evil spirits reborn from the swamp by the magic of the Corrupting Tongue.

They were covered in black mud, their fur was festering and oozing pus, saliva dripped from their fangs, and their crimson eyes reflected the three people in front of them.

The lead dog suddenly howled, and the four swamp dogs pounced from different directions like arrows released from a bow.

Clint stepped forward, swinging his heavy, long-handled axe.

His offensive seemed to form a defensive line, protecting Paril and Harvey behind him.

The four swamp dogs nimbly dodged, not daring to approach.

Harvey took out the lute from his back and began to play. The music seemed to transform into a tangible force, enveloping Clint.

"Step back."

After Harvey gave the order, Clint did not hesitate and jumped backward.

The moment he landed, a cloud of mist formed by spinning daggers rose from the ground, enveloping the four swamp dogs.

The swamp dog, in pain, instinctively tried to escape the area.

A beam of icy blue light struck the lead dog, instantly slowing its movements.

Harvey cast spells continuously, like playing various musical pieces, repelling the swamp hound's attacks.

The other three leaped out of the cloud of daggers almost simultaneously, baring their fangs and biting at Clint from different directions.

Clint made no attempt to dodge; his long-handled axe whistled through the air as it struck one of the dogs directly in the throat.

"Click"

A sickening cracking sound of bones breaking rang out, and the dog's head flew up with a cloud of black blood mist. The headless corpse lurched forward a few more steps due to inertia before crashing to the ground.

Another rabid dog pounced from the side and bit Clint's waist.

Clint used the force of his horizontal slash to spin around, and the heavy axe handle slammed into the mad dog's side like a battering ram.

"Bang"

With a mournful howl, the swamp dog was sent flying sideways, crashing into a dead tree and struggling to get up for the time being.

Clint dodged the third swamp hound's attack and kicked it back into the range of the Cloud of Daggers.

Seeing the lead dog charge out, Paril immediately chanted a spell, and the tracer bullet accurately hit the head.

The lead dog was blinded by the bright light.

Clint seized the opportunity and charged forward, his long-handled axe slashing down from above, easily slicing into the lead dog's body.

The last swamp hound in the cloud of daggers gave up its attack and turned to jump into the swamp.

Three glittering darts formed by magical force fields shot towards them.

He died on the spot.

The battle ended in the blink of an eye.

The corpses of the four ferocious swamp dogs gradually turned into black sludge and were swallowed up by the swamp again.

"Well played." Harvey smiled and clapped his hands, applauding his two teammates.

Paril was a little embarrassed.

Clint readily accepted the compliment.

Just as he turned around.

Suddenly, the sound of armor clashing came from the shadows beside the open space.

Clint turned around warily and saw a figure clad in heavy armor and wielding a greatsword appear before him.
