Three Kingdoms: Conquer Wu from Maicheng with Cavalry and Swords, Don't Fall Behind
Chapter 19: How Do We Assassinate?
"I'm going out for a bit. You all stay here and wait, and don't wander off."
The Martial Saint touched the quiver on the back of his bow, then slid down about ten feet of the city wall. Inside the quiver lay about thirty bamboo arrows. He galloped across the wasteland, his speed no slower than a warhorse at a trot.
Before long, three clear red dots appeared on the minimap. They were enemy sentries, hidden in the woods, their cloaks covered with fluffy frost.
The Martial Saint quickly approached, observing from a distance of twenty paces using his night vision.
It was freezing cold, and Wu Jun was shivering all over, completely oblivious to the commotion around him. Their eyebrows were covered in frost and snow, making their features indistinct.
A streak of azure light pierced the white snowfield, clearly transforming into an eight-foot-tall, imposing figure. The Martial Saint moved swiftly, rushing to a Wu soldier and drawing his sword with a clang.
"Who?!"
The Wu soldier facing him was horrified and instinctively took two steps back. The Martial Saint's cold light arrived first, piercing the Wu soldier's leather breastplate, tearing through the muscles, and his heart made a final, thumping sound.
Another gaunt Wu soldier suddenly regained consciousness, turned around and fled into the depths of the forest, his breathing becoming increasingly heavy.
The Martial Saint's body tensed slightly, his longbow drawn to its fullest extent, the arrow whistling as it struck with pinpoint accuracy. With a scream and a muffled groan, the wounded enemy soldier plummeted to the ground, crashing into the snowdrifts.
The last sentry, remaining calm, pressed his back firmly against the tree roots, making not a sound. He held his breath, and with the cover of night, tried to slip through unnoticed.
The Martial Saint's sword twisted, slicing through a patch of snow and leaving a trail of crimson blood.
Instant kill!
The dead man stared wide-eyed, his wounds covered by the cruel cold of the night.
The Martial Saint strode forward, followed the bloodstains and crawl marks on the ground, found the wounded Wu soldier who had been shot by an arrow, and chopped off his head with a single sword stroke.
Two warhorses, startled, neighed and puffed out their gasps, piercing the desolate night.
The Martial Saint donned a black robe, dealt with two more sentries, and successfully reached the Wu army camp. He surveyed the area and found that the camp housed two thousand soldiers, forming one ring of the encirclement.
After Wu Jun's main force arrived, they actively set up an encirclement around Maicheng. In a day, they could only build a limited number of fences. The camp's construction was also very simple; the walls weren't even ten feet high.
The sound of heavy footsteps, mixed with the clanging of armor plates, came from inside the camp walls.
On a towering watchtower stood two lookouts, vigilantly surveying their surroundings.
The Martial Saint advanced into the blind spot of his vision, his steps light and furtive.
"Your Excellency, this...this..." Guan Yu had always acted with integrity and uprightness. Now, he was doing something as shady as stealing chickens and dogs—how exciting!
Qi Ye used the sound to pinpoint the location, then glanced at the minimap; a new round of patrols was approaching from afar. He scrolled the directional keys, and the Martial Saint nimbly pressed himself against the wall.
The soldiers on the watchtower turned their gazes, relieved to find it was a false alarm.
"If there were a box at this moment, I could have achieved perfect stealth, what a pity." Qi Ye said with a slight regret.
A snowy night, a campfire—it's both intoxicating and thrilling. The camp has two thousand bandits; if they're discovered, they won't be able to wipe them out anytime soon.
"Calm down, calm down. I'm playing as an assassin now. I haven't played Assassin's Creed long enough, so I hope I don't make any mistakes."
Qi Ye carefully observed the minimap, analyzed the situation, and naturally recalled the assassin's "strategy".
How do we assassinate? — [Group fight]
How do we infiltrate undetected? — [Kill them all]
What we firmly believe is: —— "All things are strong, and nothing can compare."
So what about us?! — Just do it!
Anyone who dares to discover anything amiss can be eliminated. The Martial Saint swiftly climbed over the wall and hid behind a tent.
"Who?!" the watchtower soldier shouted in alarm.
"What's the big deal?"
I think I saw a figure.
"It's so cold, I don't want to move. You go down and check."
"You should go down."
"Didn't you discover it?"
"Okay, everything as usual." Wu Bing's lips twitched as he conceded to his companion.
Guan Yu was dumbfounded: "Such large footprints, anyone could have spotted them with a glance. But no one even looked?!"
The rise of Han and the fall of Wu are signs of history.
Qi Ye searched around the commander's tent and crept over there. Thanks to his ability to use the minimap and night vision, he escaped unharmed.
A flag bearing the character "Han" fluttered in front of the commander's tent, and a familiar voice rang out.
"Guan Yu, you claim you're protecting the people of Jingzhou? Now, let me see what you've actually protected!"
Han Zong snorted, leaning on his soft sword.
"General, let me come."
A glamorous woman, her round buttocks trembling, walked up and gently knelt in front of Han Zong's legs, breathing coquettishly.
"Get out of here! Get someone who'll fight back! I want it spicy!"
Han Zong kicked over the charcoal brazier, sparks flew and covered the woman, and a scream echoed through the silent night.
The armored soldiers barged in and dragged the thinly dressed woman out. She struggled and writhed in pain, but the splash of cold water extinguished even the fiercest fire in her heart.
Wu Bing gathered around and urinated, playfully and flamboyantly releasing his true nature.
Historically, Han Zong was known for his licentious and immoral behavior, and he even led his troops to plunder innocent people. Fearing retribution, he defected to Cao Wei, infuriating Sun Quan.
Upon witnessing this beastly act, Guan Yu instinctively gripped his broadsword, only to grasp at empty air: "You hypocrite, behaving like a dog or pig, you've wasted your human skin!"
Qi Ye's heart was as still as water; compared to the chaos of the Five Barbarian Invasions, this was insignificant.
The equally chaotic Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period drama, "Peaceful Years," features scenes of cannibalism. It presents a panoramic view of the violent rituals of the era of cold weapons, making the oppression of power very direct.
Unsurprisingly, the broadcast was met with enthusiastic complaints from parents as soon as it started airing.
If Cheng Yu's "I Have a Secret Recipe Dish" were to be adapted into a film or television series, it would likely face the same fate of being reported.
Cao Cao slaughtered everyone in Xuzhou, leaving no one alive, and even the Si River stopped flowing. His calamity far surpassed that of Cheng Yu and Han Zong.
Taking advantage of the enemy's attention being focused on the front tent, the Martial Saint slashed open the rear tent with his sword and slipped inside, placing his sword against Han Zong's neck.
"Who are you?!" Han Zong's fair and tender body paused for a moment.
The Supreme Bone shrank back, looking both shocked and cold, and then collapsed.
The Martial Saint removed his black cloak, revealing a figure in a green robe, his beautiful beard fluttering gracefully.
"Guan Yu?!" Han Zong's blood stopped flowing, and he was horrified.
The Martial Saint's eyes were icy, his imposing presence radiating authority even without anger: "What did you just say?"
Han Zong's heart was pounding in his chest, and his will to survive forced him to calm down:
"I have intelligence, intelligence about the Wu army. I can also escort the general out of the camp with courtesy, and I will ensure that none of my soldiers will harm a single hair on your head!"
"I just said I'm sincere!"
The atmosphere froze.
Qi Ye examined him closely, as if he were seeing an NPC for the first time. Killing such a scoundrel would be beneath his Green Dragon Crescent Blade; thankfully, he was using a small sword today.
Outside the tent, the sounds of soldiers laughing and joking rang out, along with the angry curses of the captured young girl.
The Korean comedian, feeling increasingly agitated, exclaimed, "I've already vented! Get out of here, all of you!"
Wu Bing fell silent, fearing he would get burned, and slunk away.
