Yin Cheng took the scroll and glanced at it. "I don't recognize it."

Lin Nian said, "There are words here, in the water..." He looked at it several times before he was sure that there were only the two lonely words "in the water" on the scroll.

"I guess it's some senior from our sect," Yin Cheng said. "Our ancestors were once wealthy, and they produced several leaders of the martial arts alliance."

"Look at these signs of wear and tear, it must be at least twenty or thirty years old." Lin Nian brushed the dust off the scroll and put it back in its place. "It must have been some highly respected senior."

"They might be seniors, but they might not be highly respected." Yin Cheng pulled out a book from a corner, flipped through a couple of pages, and raised his long eyebrows.

"Niannian, come and see!"

Lin Nian went over, puzzled. "Found what?"

Yin Cheng unfolded the book and held it up to his wife's eyes. "These drawings are quite detailed. Shall we learn from them?"

After Lin Nian read the contents of the book, she looked at the man speechlessly and said, "Put down the fire avoidance diagram."

"Oh." Yin Cheng said somewhat reluctantly, "Are you really not going to study it?"

Lin Nian grabbed a book and threw it at them, yelling, "How annoying!"

Yin Cheng caught the book his wife threw at him, saying, "Nian Nian is fierce."

Lin Nian didn't want to talk to him.

Yin Cheng smiled and was about to put the book down when he unexpectedly saw the writing on the spine.

"Nian Nian".

Lin Nian asked fiercely, "What are you doing!"

"Come and take a look." Yin Cheng waved the book in his hand, "The Heart Sutra of the Heavenly Extremes."

Lin Nian asked, "What is the Heavenly Heart Sutra?" He replied suspiciously, "If you still think it's the Fire-Avoiding Diagram, I'll beat you up!"

After saying that, he raised his soft fist, looking very fierce.

"It's the set of exercises I learned."

Hearing the man say that, Lin Nian walked over with small steps.

He was extremely curious. "After learning how, will I be able to fly around?"

"Wife, the Heart Sutra is different from lightness skill. The Heart Sutra is a passive skill; once you learn it, it can be triggered unconditionally," Yin Cheng said. "Take it back and show it to your brother-in-law."

"Oh." Although she didn't understand most of it, Lin Nian already knew her husband's background, so she didn't care about these trivial details.

He opened his cloth bag, put the Heavenly Heart Sutra inside, and then suddenly realized, "Brother-in-law? What brother-in-law?"

Yin Cheng said, "White Jade Dust."

Lin Nian looked confused and asked, "Huh?" "He's a boy?"

"No." Yin Cheng thought for a moment. Many titles in this world are not clearly defined, and sometimes it is difficult to distinguish gender from the title, except for family members.

"Uh, he's a young man," Yin Cheng said, "but he's with my brother, so... you know what I mean?"

Lin Nian seemed to understand but not quite, "Oh... so are we relatives from now on?"

"Hmm, more or less," Yin Cheng thought.

Suddenly, a glint of silver light caught Yin Cheng's eye.

His body reacted instinctively, instantly mobilizing all his strength to hug Lin Nian and dodge to the side.

Suddenly, a throwing knife pierced through the air and embedded itself deeply in the wall behind the two men.

Lin Nianzhi had encountered an unexpected situation, so she nestled obediently in the man's arms, trying not to cause any trouble.

Yin Cheng glanced at the pattern on the throwing knife and immediately recognized its owner. He almost rolled his eyes.

Lin Nian looked somewhat bewildered. He raised his head and asked, "Has anyone arrived?"

Yin Cheng pinched his wife's cheek. "Don't be afraid, we're family."

Hearing the man say that meant there was no danger.

Lin Nian stepped out of the man's arms and glanced back at the throwing knife on the wall.

The throwing knife penetrated three inches into the wall; if someone were hit, they would be severely injured, if not killed.

They all look like they're here to kill them, Lin Nian thought. What kind of people would want to take their own lives...

"Old Deng, don't cause trouble," Yin Cheng said. "If you hurt my husband, believe me, I'll pluck the last few hairs off your head."

Just then, a gaunt old man emerged from behind the display shelf. "Oh dear, this is outrageous! A strong young man is bullying an old man like me!"

Lin Nian sized up the old man who had suddenly appeared.

He was not tall, with prominent cheekbones and a slightly reddish complexion.

His hair was sparse, with a few gray strands hanging down on his head, making him look rather pitiful.

Yin Cheng said, "Oh, isn't this Master Guangjian? You've gotten so thin, just skin and bones, since I last saw you!"

Guangjian glanced down at his protruding belly and thought this must be a sarcastic remark.

He felt he was a mature old man and shouldn't bother arguing with a little brat, so he pretended not to hear and asked, "What brings you here this time? There are no treasures left in this old warehouse, just things that even He Mu wouldn't bother with."

"He's dead."

This abrupt and seemingly unrelated statement caught Guangjian off guard: "So what if you're dead? Everyone dies eventually."

Suddenly, his eyes widened. "Who did you say died?"

"Hemu is dead."

Guangjian gasped. "Dead... good riddance!" He laughed, his whole body trembling. "He should have died long ago."

After a while, he stopped laughing and asked casually, "How did he die?"

Yin Cheng said, "I killed him."

Guangjian's brow furrowed. "You little bastard, you murdered your master!"

Yin Cheng said, "He doesn't even qualify. Don't play dumb here. You clearly know everything."

Guangjian pursed his lips and asked, "What are you looking for?"

Yin Cheng told the truth, "I don't know."

Guangjian: "..."

He roared, "You don't even know what you're looking for! What are you looking for then! Did Yan Ru break your head?"

Upon hearing this, Lin Nian felt even more dislike for the old man.

He thought to himself: Your head is the one that Yan Ru has damaged!

"As you get older, you shouldn't always be making a ruckus; it's bad for your cardiovascular system," Yin Cheng said. "I'll look for any treasures at Tianji Manor. Anyway, He Mu is dead now, so I might as well take these treasures for myself."

"Yes, he has plenty of gold and silver under his buttocks," Guangjian said. "You won't find anything in this old storeroom; all the gold and silver are in the underground storeroom of Tinghe Garden now."

Yin Cheng looked at Guang Jian suspiciously, "You even know where He Mu's gold and silver are hidden, you wouldn't happen to have a crush on him, would you?"

Guangjian's lips twitched. "Don't force me to beat you up here."

Lin Nian: "..." No wonder... He doesn't dislike this old man as much now. After all, he's his own man... Well... Sometimes you really can't blame him for going all out.

Yin Cheng said, "I'm not looking for gold or silver." He suddenly remembered that Guang Jian had lived in Tianji Villa for so many years, he might know something.

"By the way, Old Deng, have any of the previous owners of Tianji Manor left behind any letters or anything like that...?"

"I'm not the master of the manor, how would I know?" Guangjian said. "Your master's father did leave behind some notes, but Hemu burned them all. He took a few volumes with him to his coffin."
