Chapter 79 Meditation Mudra

After a fierce battle over the Northern Star

Three streaks of silver light traced deadly paths through the air as Angel Leng, leading the second-generation angels Yitian and Lingxi, engaged in a fierce aerial battle with several small Taotie assault ships. A flaming sword cleaved through the sky, precisely piercing the warship's energy core. Two massive explosions followed, and two fireballs burst forth from the clouds, the wreckage trailing black smoke plummeting to the earth.

As the battle ended, the three angels flapped their wings and landed gracefully atop a skyscraper, their white wings slightly folded behind them as they looked down at the city below, where the smoke of battle had not yet cleared.

Angel crossed her arms, her face bearing her usual arrogance, as she tallied the results of the past six months:

"The 18th one. We've taken down 18 in the last six months." Her tone was flat, but carried a hint of weariness. Then, she changed the subject, her voice tinged with disdain, "And look at those Earth forces. Even with their few sets of precious armor, they've worked themselves to the bone and only managed to take down nine, losing quite a few lives in the process."

Angel Yitian was about to report, "Sister Leng, we received news of the new Queen Yan..." but before she could finish, Leng impatiently waved her hand, interrupting her.

"What new queen, old queen!" Leng frowned, her tone irritated. "I'm really annoyed by calling that bastard Yan 'queen'! But you guys seem to enjoy it, calling her that so readily."

Angel Lingxi defended her softly but firmly, "But she is our new queen, and this is Queen Keisha's order..."

"In the end, it will still be handed over to that Annie Xide!" She interrupted Lingxi with a cold laugh.

"That's none of my business," Lingxi retorted stubbornly. "She's our queen now! And the queen has ordered us to defend North Star to the death. I see warriors here fighting one after another; they're fighting for their homeland, and we're fighting for justice! To them, we're gods; we shouldn't laugh at them!"

Yitian also crossed his arms and joined in refuting Leng, his tone serious.

Despite being repeatedly contradicted by her two subordinates, Leng did not become angry. Instead, as if she had discovered something amusing, she turned her head, looked Yitian up and down, and a playful smile appeared on her lips:

"We've known each other for half a year, and I've been forgetting to ask you one thing, buddy," she deliberately drawled, "How old are you?"

Yitian paused for a moment, but still answered honestly, "1007 years old."

Leng smiled upon hearing this, a smile carrying a hint of a senior looking at a junior: "Oh, 1007 years old... Well, what you just said does have some of your own little wisdom." Her tone abruptly changed, her chin raised, reverting to her arrogant demeanor, "But that doesn't stop me from remaining arrogant!"

She turned her gaze back to the Earth soldiers below, who were busily building defenses and moving the wounded. Her tone softened somewhat, even carrying a barely perceptible hint of regret:

"Actually... there were quite a few handsome guys among those Earth soldiers, and more importantly, they were brave. Seeing them sacrifice themselves like that, I really felt... it was a real pity."

Lingxi immediately caught the subtle change in her tone, a mischievous smile playing on her lips, and delivered a precise blow:

"Sister Leng, you already have your dream guy, why are you still looking at other handsome guys?"

Leng choked for a moment, glared at Lingxi with annoyance, a hint of unease flashing across her face. She then forced herself to remain calm and looked into the distance, her tone becoming "aloof" again:

"That War God of Noxing... Hmph, we'll see!"

Above the North Star, at the top of the building

Just as Angel Leng, Yitian, and Lingxi finished their aerial battle with Taotie and were taking a short break and chatting on the rooftop, a powerful and unfamiliar dark energy fluctuation suddenly descended!

Ripples spread through the space, and a figure stepped out. She wore ancient-style angel armor, her expression arrogant, her eyes carrying a cold indifference born of experience and a hint of barely perceptible obsession—it was Ruoning, the former left-wing guardian angel.

Lingxi and Yitian instantly became alert, and the Blazing Sword immediately appeared in their hands, its blade ablaze with scorching holy flames. Lingxi warily sized up the newcomer, whispering, "This one looks...like an older generation angel."

Ruoning glanced contemptuously at Lingxi and Yitian, her gaze finally settling on Leng, her tone carrying an unquestionable command: "Why aren't you telling your henchmen to put away their weapons?"

Angel recognized the newcomer, and her face instantly lit up with a delighted smile—the genuine joy of seeing a long-lost loved one: "Master! It's Master! You startled me! I was wondering who was so sharp, locating us so quickly!" She hurriedly waved to Lingxi and Yitian, "Everyone, put it away, quickly put it away!"

Seeing that the two had obediently sheathed their flaming swords, Ruoning finally focused all her attention on Leng. She cut to the chase, her tone mocking and provocative:

"Angel Yan, do you accept becoming the new commander?"

Leng answered almost without hesitation, with her usual bluntness: "Tell the truth? To be honest, I'm not convinced! Besides, that girl doesn't have that kind of cunning."

As soon as she finished speaking, Yitian couldn't help but step forward. Despite facing a senior, she firmly upheld Keisha's will: "Who are you? No matter who you are, you have no right to oppose Queen Keisha's chosen successor!"

Ruoning didn't even glance at Yitian, as if she were merely an insignificant background noise, and asked with a cold, mocking tone, "This child, is henchman of yours?"

Leng frowned slightly and defended her, saying, "She is a high-ranking angel of Queen Keisha, just an ordinary comrade of mine."

"Would you mind if I killed her?" Ruoning's tone was as calm as if she were asking about the weather, yet it instantly chilled the surrounding air to freezing point.

Leng immediately waved her hand, her smile vanishing, her tone turning serious: "It's best not to. She's an angel warrior, my comrade. I can't bear to watch a comrade be killed by another."

Lingxi, standing nearby, couldn't help but whisper to Leng, "Who is she?"

Leng took a deep breath and introduced, "She is my master, Ruoning, a former left-wing guard. Later, Yan made some meritorious contributions, but my master... didn't like Yan's actions, so she left Queen Keisha."

Ruoning slowly walked down a few steps, approaching Leng, her voice carrying a self-justifying obsession: "Is this how you see your master? Listen, from the time I left Queen Keisha until now, Queen Keisha remains the only queen in my heart! However, the only mistake Queen Keisha made was letting Yan become her successor! And now, I'm going to correct that mistake!"

He looked at her coldly, his eyes filled with complex emotions, yet also with a clear understanding: "Well, you're not the next one either. There's no such rule."

"Hua Ye, regain control of Angel City!" Ruoning revealed her true purpose, her tone tinged with fervor. "This is my dream, your master's dream. Do you agree?"

"I absolutely disagree!" Yitian stepped forward again, his voice trembling with emotion. "No matter who you are! I will not allow you to question Queen Keisha's decision!"

Ruoning's patience seemed to have finally run out. A cold glint flashed in her eyes, and her figure suddenly blurred! The next moment, she appeared in front of Yitian, one hand gripping Yitian's neck like an iron clamp, lifting her off the ground!

"This lackey is courting death!" Ruoning's voice was icy cold.

"Let her go!" she shouted coldly. Almost at the same time as Ruoning made her move, her flaming sword was already drawn, carrying a resolute sword light, and she slashed at Ruoning without hesitation!

Ruoning snorted coldly and casually tossed Yitian aside like trash. Lingxi hurriedly flew forward to catch Yitian, and seeing her coughing in pain, anxiously asked, "Are you alright?"

Ruoning's gaze returned to Leng, who held the sword, her expression a mixture of disbelief, disappointment, and anger: "You... are going to oppose me?"

Leng slowly sheathed her flaming sword, but she did not back down. Instead, she faced Ruoning directly, a complex smile on her face, a mixture of sorrow and mockery.

"Master... I don't know which remote planet you went to, that you actually... got involved in this power struggle drama?" She shook her head, her tone filled with heartache over her former mentor's misguided path. "I'm an angel! How could an angel do such a thing? Only a civilization of such low caliber would do that!"

She opened her arms, as if giving up all resistance, but her eyes looked at Ruoning with unwavering determination:

"If you want me to die, then just let me die."

"Well done!" Ruoning laughed angrily, clapping her hands. "We're not here to fight for power! We're here to build a civilization order that's even more advanced than the Angel Civilization!"

"A higher order?" The angel scoffed, his laughter filled with disdain and final resolve. "Queen Keisha never said that! Nor did Yan! I cannot allow a 'master' who is neither a queen, nor the king of gods, nor even an angel, to negate my lifelong faith!"

"Afterwards, there will be new wars." Ruoning's voice was like a final ultimatum. "Do you want to be the first?"

Leng didn't answer, but immediately ordered Lingxi through the angel communication channel: "Take Yitian and go find the Galactic Force!"

Without the slightest hesitation, Lingxi knew that staying would only be a burden to Leng. She immediately picked up the injured Yitian, flapped her wings, and transformed into a streak of light, flying rapidly into the distance to search for Ge Xiaolun's whereabouts.

Ruoning glanced coldly at the two fleeing individuals, offering no resistance. Her gaze, like a chilling arrow, pierced once more upon the lone angel Leng.

Between master and disciple, the chasm of their ideologies is insurmountable; their differing stances have destined them to be adversaries. An inevitable battle is about to erupt high above the Northern Star. Leng faces his former mentor alone, prepared to sacrifice himself to protect his inner beliefs.

Leng launched the first attack, her sword flashing fiercely! However, Nuoning, a veteran powerhouse, far surpassed her in strength, and the battle was almost a one-sided crushing victory. Nuoning's use of spacetime abilities far exceeded Leng's expectations; each attack was cunning and ruthless, containing the vicious energy to dissolve super genes. Leng desperately wielded her flaming sword, but it was as if she were sinking into an invisible quagmire, retreating step by step. Cracks had spread across her silver armor, and red blood spilled from the corner of her mouth.

Just as Noning found an opening, gathered destructive energy in his hand, and prepared to completely disintegrate the cold supergene, delivering the fatal blow—

"The Meditation Mudra!"

A steady yet unfamiliar voice, as if traversing time and space, resounded clearly throughout the airspace.

As the words fell, an invisible, water-ripple-like energy pattern spread out instantly at a speed beyond perception, precisely enveloping Noning, Angel Leng, and the space within a hundred meters around them.

hum! ! !

Time seemed to be paused at that moment.

The ferocious and confident expression on Noning's face froze. The dark energy ball in her hand, powerful enough to disintegrate a god's body, hovered just millimeters away from Leng's chest. The destructive ripples surging on the surface of the energy were clearly visible, but it could no longer move forward an inch.

Angel Leng remained in a blocking posture, her wings slightly spread, her eyes still holding a resolute look and a trace of lingering astonishment. Her whole being seemed to have been transformed into the most exquisite amber sculpture, sealed in this frozen space-time.

The flying dust hung suspended in mid-air, the flames from the distant explosion ceased their flickering, and even the sound vanished. The entire world seemed to have become a perfectly still painting.
