Super God Academy: Kabuto
Chapter 54 Layout
Lin Yu glanced one last time at the familiar figure on the deck of the Giant Gorge through the aurora curtain. After confirming that his sister Qi Lin was safe, he passed through the aurora curtain. The ripples in space behind him subsided, and he had returned to his peaceful home from the turbulent Giant Gorge. As soon as he steadied himself, his gaze unconsciously swept across the living room, but he couldn't help but pause slightly.
On the sofa, two women of extraordinary bearing were leisurely sipping tea. The silver-haired Pipi Xi was relaxed, while the woman next to her, with her legs crossed, wearing a golden crown and exuding an air of authority, was none other than Keisha, whom he had just "invited" away from Earth.
Keisha was the first to notice the spatial fluctuations. She put down her teacup, a playful smile curving her lips, and said to He Xi, "Look, your little heartthrob is back."
He Xi glanced at Lin Yu sideways, then rolled her eyes at Keisha with annoyance: "You old hag, weren't you supposed to be back in your Merlo Heavenly Court? What are you doing here?"
"Just came to see you," Keisha grinned like a cat that had just stolen some cream, her gaze shifting between Lin Yu and He Xi. "And while I'm at it, I also want to check out your little heartthrob. Those words he uttered outside the Giant Gorge were quite impressive, weren't they? Tsk tsk tsk."
He Xi, too lazy to engage with her teasing, asked directly, "Stop with the nonsense. How long do you plan to stay on Earth this time? Are you really just going to watch the show?"
Keisha leaned back gracefully on the sofa, picked up her teacup again, and regained some of the profoundness befitting the Queen of Gods: "Let's see what Karl and Morgana can do. It's time to stir up the waters of the known universe."
Lin Yu listened to the two angel queens' pointless (at least in his opinion) chatter, showing no intention of joining in. He walked straight to the kitchen expressionlessly, as if the living room had only been occupied by two talking pieces of furniture.
"What are we having for dinner tonight?" he asked casually, as if it were a routine question, his voice calm and unwavering, as he opened the refrigerator.
He Xi turned her head naturally towards the kitchen and replied, "The usual way is fine."
"Hmm." Lin Yu responded briefly and began taking ingredients out of the refrigerator. The red Kabuto insect device flew out from the void, hovered to the side, and emitted a soft buzzing sound, seemingly also looking forward to the cooking to come.
Soon, the rhythmic sounds of chopping vegetables and the soft clatter of spatulas filled the kitchen, and the aroma of food began to slowly build.
In the living room, Keisha watched Lin Yu busy in the kitchen with the magical insect device, then turned to He Xi, her tone even more teasing: "Not bad, He Xi. You've trained your little god to be... capable of intimidating the gods and cooking. This 'old trick' sounds quite practiced, doesn't it?"
"Hmph, she's still better than some old woman who's only known how to drink coffee for tens of thousands of years." He Xi snorted lightly, her tone carrying a hint of barely perceptible smugness.
Two angel queens, who had known each other for over ten thousand years, sipped tea and chatted about anecdotes and memories spanning millennia that only they understood. The aroma of cooking in the kitchen mingled with the fragrance of tea in the living room, creating a strange yet inexplicably harmonious scene. Lin Yu, meanwhile, focused intently on the stove before him, temporarily shutting out all the storms and schemes of the outside world from this small space.
Dinner ended in a subtle atmosphere. Lin Yu cleared away the dishes and went to the living room, his gaze falling on Keisha, who was leisurely sipping her post-dinner tea.
"There's something I feel I should tell you," Lin Yu's voice broke the silence, his tone calm yet weighty. "Karl and Morgana have prepared a 'big gift' for you: a supernova explosion fireworks display. It's near Emerald Star. What are your plans?"
Keisha paused slightly in her teacup, then a knowing yet slightly mocking smile appeared on her face: "Supernova? Ha, that's quite a grand affair." She gently blew on the tea, as if discussing a trivial matter unrelated to herself. "What else could they be planning? Since they've gone to such lengths to set up this stage, I'll just play along and take a break for a while."
She looked at Lin Yu with great interest, her eyes gleaming with intelligence: "I'm more curious about what specific methods they will use to ensure they can 'invite' me to that predetermined coordinate?"
"If you really log off," Lin Yu looked directly at her and pointed out a harsh reality, "the Angel Civilization will likely suffer heavy casualties. Angel Yan... she's growing very fast, but at this stage, she's still no match for that old schemer Karl."
Upon hearing this, Keisha showed no concern. Instead, she turned her gaze to He Xi, who had been mostly silent, and said in a relaxed tone, "Isn't there still her? Heavenly King He Xi is the foundation of us angels." She paused, her eyes deepening, "Besides, if I'm 'gone,' Karl can finally unleash his full potential to research his so-called 'Void.' I actually... am quite curious to see what he'll ultimately come up with."
He Xi immediately waved her hand, looking politely declining, "Don't look at me, I'm just a researcher. Don't ask me to do things like fighting and commanding an entire army." As she spoke, she turned to look at Lin Yu, her icy blue eyes filled with inquiry, "Lin Yu, you specifically brought this up...did you know some more specific information? Or rather, did you see something?"
Lin Yu frowned slightly, vague yet highly cautionary fragments of information from the future flashing through his mind. He pondered for a moment, then slowly said, "I only have some clues. 'The Void'... is more troublesome and harder to deal with than you imagine."
He looked at Keisha and offered a suggestion: "Therefore, you'd better consider 'faking your death.' This will allow you to step back from the game, see the undercurrents clearly, and prevent the angels from falling into real chaos. If necessary... I can lend you a hand."
"A fake death?" Keisha put down her teacup, her posture still elegant and composed, showing no fear of "death." "We'll see. The timing and method both need careful consideration." She stood up and straightened her non-existent skirt. "Alright, I should go now. I won't disturb you... Hmm, time to rest."
After saying that, she casually opened a tiny wormhole, stepped inside, and disappeared as if she had never existed.
Only Lin Yu and He Xi remained in the living room. He Xi walked to Lin Yu's side, her relaxed and teasing expression vanishing, replaced by a serious look.
"Is it really that troublesome?" she asked softly, referring to the "void" that Lin Yu had mentioned.
"Yes," Lin Yu nodded, his gaze seemingly piercing through the roof, looking into the endless depths of space. His tone was more serious than ever before. "If my premonition is right, if those 'things' are indeed coming... the existing order and understanding of the known universe will probably be overturned. That would be a... true catastrophe."
