Super God Academy: Kabuto
Chapter 45 Daily Life
Inside Lin Yu's home, the aroma of tea wafted through the air. The two sat facing each other, the window offering a glimpse into the ordinary cityscape, yet their conversation revolved around a topic capable of overturning the known universe.
"The current Super Soldier Corps is not up to par." Lin Yu put down his teacup and stated a fact calmly, "They cannot bear the weight of the future."
"They still have a long way to go; after all, they're still just children." He Xi took a sip of tea, her silver eyelashes drooping slightly. She then looked up at Lin Yu and added, "You too."
Upon hearing this, Lin Yu turned to look at her, offering no rebuttal, but his gaze deepened. A strange silence instantly fell over the room, as if time itself had frozen for a moment.
"Liang Bing," He Xi broke the silence, "I reckon they're about to make their move against the Super Soldier Squad. In their current state, they can't hold out."
"I know." Lin Yu put down his teacup, his tone calm. "I've fought her, and there's also Karl behind her." Lin Yu paused, a sharp glint in his eyes. "Karl's 'Void' theory is very interesting. As for Morgana, she's probably already a fourth-generation god."
He Xi's gaze suddenly focused on Lin Yu, filled with scrutiny and inquiry: "If you were to face Karl, what are your chances of success?" Without waiting for Lin Yu's answer, she continued, "Although Keisha and I outwardly scoff at the void, we have never stopped studying it over the past tens of thousands of years."
"I know." Lin Yu's response remained calm, but he dropped an even more astonishing bombshell: "For example, Angel Chase, Angel Yan's secondary biological engine, and... your apprentice, Zhi Xin. Your research has never stopped." He leaned back slightly, his eyes sharpening. "If I were to face Karl, it would be a 50/50 chance. His illusory form is very interesting, and... I'd also like to see for myself what this so-called 'Void' really is."
"You seem to know a lot?" He Xi leaned forward slightly, her eyes, which could see through galactic data, locked onto Lin Yu's dark eyes, trying to find answers in that deep pool. "Too much... illogical."
"Yes." Lin Yu readily admitted, meeting her gaze as he spoke each word clearly, "I do know a lot. For example, the era of the Three Kings of the Angels, the destruction of Hua Ye and his group of scum, and... the War of the Raging Seas that laid the foundation for the Keisha Kingdom."
When Lin Yu clearly uttered the words "Battle of the Raging Seas," a subtle change occurred in He Xi's aura. It was a story that had been buried for tens of thousands of years, a history that had long been sealed away, a secret that a "child from Earth" could never know.
She slowly stood up, looking down at Lin Yu. Her face was no longer lazy and playful, but instead bore the serious and extremely curious expression of Tianji Wang Hexi.
"Child..." Her voice held an undeniable authority.
"I'm increasingly inclined to... study you more and more."
Lin Yu's commanding yet remarkably natural "Sit still, be good," seemed to possess a strange magic, causing He Xi, the Heavenly King, to instinctively straighten her posture and even gently place her teacup back on the table. She tilted her head slightly, looking towards Lin Yu as he walked into the kitchen:
"I'm fine with anything," she said, her voice carrying a hint of relaxation she herself didn't realize. "What you did was pretty good."
"That's right." A smile came from the kitchen, accompanied by the sound of water rinsing the ingredients. A moment later, his voice returned, calm and solemn, as if repeating an ancient precept:
"Grandma used to say that delicious food is something that is considerate and gentle." He paused, the knife making a rhythmic, soft sound as it touched the cutting board. "It's delicate, and it's easy to fail if you're not careful, so... you have to be patient and make it carefully."
After he finished speaking, only the focused sounds of cooking filled the kitchen.
In the living room, He Xi's gaze shifted from the kitchen doorway to the Kabuto insect instrument that hovered quietly to the side. His azure eyes once again ignited with the pure curiosity of a scientific genius.
She beckoned to the Kabuto insect device with her finger, her voice low and coaxing: "Little guy, come here."
The compound eyes of the Kabuto insect instrument flickered a few times, as if hesitating. Its small body turned slightly towards He Xi, then towards the kitchen, appearing somewhat uncertain.
Just as it hesitated, Lin Yu's clear call came from the kitchen:
"Kabuto, come help me."
Almost the instant Lin Yu finished speaking, the Kabuto insect device, like a soldier receiving the highest order, transformed into a red streak of light without hesitation and flew into the kitchen with a "whoosh," hovering steadily beside Lin Yu, as if He Xi's call had never happened.
He Xi was stunned for a moment when she saw this scene. Then she shook her head with a mix of amusement and helplessness. She picked up her teacup and drank down the slight embarrassment of being "ignored" and the curiosity that deepened about the tacit understanding between the master and servant.
