Chapter 215 Void Invasion
Mangdang Mountain - A Brief Stop
The hangar of the Mangdangshan has never been so busy.
Alarm lights spun, casting red and white light across every corner. Technicians moved about busily, carrying energy magazines, calibrating weapon systems, and adjusting shield generators. The atmosphere of war had permeated every inch of the steel, filling the entire space with a oppressive and tense tension.
A magenta dimensional barrier unfolded unexpectedly in a corner of the hangar amidst this bustling activity.
The surrounding soldiers almost instinctively raised their weapons, the humming of energy charging echoing throughout. But after seeing the figure emerge from the magenta light, everyone breathed a sigh of relief, and their weapons fell to the ground.
Tsukasa Kadoya took a step forward, holding Kirin's hand, and the dimensional barrier behind them vanished as if it had never existed.
"Shi, I don't need..." Qi Lin wanted to say something, but was interrupted by Kadoya Shi raising his hand.
"Stay here obediently." Kadoya Tsukasa's voice carried a rare hint of unquestionable authority, but when his gaze fell on Qi Lin's face, his cold, hard features softened slightly. He turned slightly to block the curious gazes of the surrounding soldiers. "Now is not the time to be reckless. Your brother's situation is special, and Wei Laoqi and the others are on their way. I need to know that you are in a safe place."
"But the Thunderfly System is already..."
"I know." Tsukasa Kadoya leaned down slightly, looking directly into Kirin's eyes. Those eyes, which usually held a playful or unruly air, were now clear and focused, reflecting her image. "I have never doubted your fighting abilities. But what you are about to face is no ordinary enemy."
He paused, seemingly considering his words.
"I need you here as a contact point between the Mangdang Mountain and the North Star." His tone softened, carrying a warmth that only Qi Lin could detect. "Also... if something happens to that guy in black, you're the only one who can get your brother out of that time loop—if he wants to."
Qi Lin fell silent.
She had already learned from Shi that Lin Yu in black had taken away the real-life Lin Yu. Anger and worry writhed and tore at her heart like two snakes, but she knew Shi was right. Now was not the time to act impulsively. She didn't know what her brother was going through; she didn't know what that "other Lin Yu" wanted to do. But she knew that if there ever came a moment when her brother needed someone to pull him back—
It has to be her.
"And what about you?" Qi Lin looked up at Kadoya Tsukasa. "Where are you going?"
Tsukasa Kadoya straightened up, a signature smile curving his lips. But the smile didn't reach his eyes; instead, it made his gaze appear even more profound.
"Running errands." He waved the camera in his hand. "Your 'black-clad brother' said he's temporarily entrusting the universe to me and has assigned me a bunch of tasks. I need to make sure everyone who needs to know knows, and everyone who needs to prepare does."
He took a step back, his gaze finally landing on Qi Lin's face. Beneath that nonchalant expression, something seemed to be throbbing gently.
"Don't worry, even though I'm not very reliable, I always keep my promises."
Qi Lin didn't smile. She stepped forward and gently hugged him.
The movement was so sudden that Tsukasa Kadoya froze. He looked down at the head buried in his chest, momentarily at a loss for how to react. The surrounding soldiers tactfully looked away.
"Don't die." Qi Lin's muffled voice came from inside the suit fabric.
Tsukasa Kadoya paused for a second, then raised his hand and gently wrapped his arms around her back. The hug was very light, as if afraid of disturbing something precious and fragile.
"He won't die."
He released her hand, giving her one last look. The magenta light unfolded behind him once more, like a ritualistic farewell.
"Wait for me to come back."
The light engulfed his figure, leaving only Qi Lin standing there, clutching the Thunder Dragonfly tightly in her hand. The hangar remained noisy, but in her world, only those four words echoed.
Wait for me to come back.
Merlo's Heavenly Court - Throne Room
A sacred silver light filled the entire throne room, coating every pillar and every feather relief with an almost eternal sanctity. This was the highest power center of the angelic civilization, which had decided the fate of countless civilizations and witnessed the glory and bloodshed of angels over the past thirty thousand years.
At this moment, Keisha sat regally on her throne.
Her long, golden hair cascaded down her silver dress like a waterfall, and her silver eyes were as deep as an abyss, seemingly untouched by any storm. She simply sat there, and the entire space seemed to submit to her presence.
However, when the crimson light suddenly appeared three zhang in front of her, she still raised her eyebrows slightly.
It wasn't out of surprise—anyone who could break into the Heavenly Court of Merlo at this time and in this way was obviously someone you could guess. She just felt…it was too fast.
Tsukasa Kadoya stepped out of the dimensional barrier, stood still, and looked up at the King of Gods on the throne. There was no bowing, no formalities, just a nod.
"Why are you here?" Keisha's voice was still cold, but it carried a faint sense of familiarity—the ease that comes when facing an equal, as if she had shed some of the weight of her crown.
Tsukasa Kadoya didn't waste any words: "The void has descended. The ruins of Kamigawa."
Six characters.
This caused the temperature between the thrones to drop several degrees. The two high-ranking angels behind Keisha's expression changed slightly, and they subconsciously tightened their grip on their flaming swords. But Keisha herself only flashed a sharp light in her eyes, like a sword blade briefly gleaming in the moonlight.
"So soon." Her voice remained calm, as if she were hearing a belated battle report rather than a countdown to the end of the universe. She slowly rose, her silver skirt spreading across the smooth ground, her silver wings unfurling slightly, emitting a soft, metallic sound. "I understand."
Tsukasa Kadoya looked at her and nodded.
He didn't ask Keisha what she planned to do, nor did he inquire about the defensive preparations of the Celestial Court of Merlo, nor did he utter another word. He simply confirmed that the message had been delivered, that one of the universe's most powerful guardians was aware of the impending storm.
Then--
The magenta light shone again, and his figure had vanished.
Silence returned to the throne room.
A high-ranking angel stepped forward, her golden eyelashes drooping: "Your Majesty, is it necessary to...?"
"As planned." Keisha's voice was calm as usual, but carried something deeper. "Initiate the final warm-up procedure for 'Heavenly Blade Judgment.' Also, unseal all the data about the origin of the void in the Sacred Knowledge Treasury and authorize it to Morgana of Demon One and the command center of Earth's North Star."
She paused, her silver eyes gazing at the enormous floor-to-ceiling window between the thrones, beyond which stretched an endless sea of stars.
"Now that the void has descended, there is no need to hide it any longer."
"yes!"
The footsteps faded into the distance. Keisha sat down again, her silver gaze piercing through layers of star fields, as if she could see the crumbling ruins of the Divine River. She remembered the fleeting figure of Lin Yu in black, the unborn child in He Xi's womb, and the present-day Lin Yu trapped in a time loop.
"storm……"
She murmured to herself, a faint smile curving her lips. It was a smile that only she could understand, a smile tinged with both irony and anticipation.
"It's finally here."
Devil Number One - The Uninvited Guest
If the Heavenly Court of Merlo is a solemn silver temple, then Demon One is a repressive dark purple abyss.
Inside the command center, countless projection screens floated in mid-air, displaying complex streams of data. Liang Bing sat with her legs crossed in front of the main control console, her long purple hair cascading over her shoulders, her brows furrowed. Since receiving that anonymous warning message, she hadn't slept a wink—although she didn't need sleep, the feeling of being shrouded in some enormous shadow made it impossible for her to relax.
Rose stood beside her, also staring at the data stream, her fingertips tracing patterns in the air, bringing up layer upon layer of defensive deployment diagrams. They were recalculating the demon legion's defensive layout, trying to find the weakest link most likely to be hit by the void.
Just then—
A crimson light burst forth without warning in the center of the command hall!
"alert!"
The surrounding demon guards almost reflexively raised their weapons, the piercing buzz of energy cannons charging filled the air, and dark purple energy light instantly illuminated the hall. Liang Bing sprang up from her seat, a dark purple energy ball containing the power of spatial distortion already condensing between her fingers, her eyes sharp as a drawn sword.
Then, Tsukasa Kadoya emerged from the light.
He calmly glanced at the tense demon guards around him, his gaze passing over the dark cannon muzzles before finally settling on Liang Bing's face.
"How the hell did you get through this?!"
Liang Bing practically roared, and the energy ball in her hand not only didn't dissipate, but actually shone even brighter. Her eyes widened as she looked around in disbelief—Demon One was currently operating at maximum power, with its stealth system, anti-detection system, and spatial shielding system all running at full capacity, and even the spacetime disturbance field she had personally designed was activated!
"I've turned Devil One up to full power!" Her voice echoed in the command center. "Stealth, anti-detection, spatial shielding, spacetime disruption—full power! How the hell did you find it?!"
Rose stepped forward and gently pressed Liang Bing's arm. She didn't speak, but the gesture showed her attitude—calmness. Since the other party had been able to break through all defenses and appear here silently, if they really wanted to make a move, they wouldn't need to stand there waiting for them to react.
Tsukasa Kadoya ignored the weapons around him and didn't respond to Ryou's roar. He simply looked at her, his tone as calm as if he were remarking on the weather:
"The void is coming. Prepare yourselves."
"What?"
Liang Bing froze, the energy ball in her hand nearly going out of control, purple arcs of electricity crackling at her fingertips. She wondered if she had misheard.
"The Void has arrived?" she repeated, a hint of absurdity in her voice. "Where? When?"
"The ruins of Kamigawa," Tsukasa Kadoya replied briefly. "Soon. The exact time is uncertain, but it won't be long."
Liang Bing's pupils contracted slightly.
As a former spacetime scholar and one of the most profound researchers of the void in the entire known universe, she understood better than anyone what the words "the arrival of the void" meant.
It was not a scattered invasion, nor a probing at the edge.
It is a real, dominant, and perhaps irresistible arrival.
"Keisha already knows," Tsukasa Kadoya added. "I'll also inform Retsuyo. The rest is up to you."
After he finished speaking, without waiting for Liang Bing's response, the magenta light shone behind him again.
"Hey! Wait!" Liang Bing shouted, instinctively taking a step forward. "You're just going to leave like that? At least tell me—how did you find this place?!"
Half of Tsukasa Kadoya's figure had already disappeared into the dimensional barrier. Upon hearing this, he slightly turned his head, and the corner of his mouth curled up in that signature smile.
"secret."
The light engulfed his figure, and the dimensional barrier vanished without a trace.
A deathly silence fell over the command center.
Liang Bing stared at the empty space, stunned for several seconds. Then—
"What are you all standing there for?!"
She whirled around and roared at the stunned demon guards, "Recalculate the defenses! Move all available resources to the paths that the Divine River Ruins might impact! Also, get me connected to Deathsong Academy—this time, whether Karl likes it or not, I'm going to 'have a chat' with him!"
The demon guards, as if granted a pardon, scattered instantly, each rushing to their respective posts. The entire command hall once again descended into a flurry of activity and chaos.
Rose didn't speak. She simply looked in the direction where Tsukasa Kadoya had disappeared, a complex emotion flashing in her eyes.
But now is not the time to delve into that. The arrival of the void is the only thing that needs our attention.
The Awakening of the Sleeping Ones on the Sunlit Star
Lieyang Star, Heavenly Path Tower.
This planet, once on the verge of destruction but reborn thanks to the efforts of veteran officials like Pan Zhen, still retains its unique golden brilliance. The Heavenly Dao Tower stands in the core region of the planet, like a giant golden sword piercing the sky, its surface flowing with complex energy patterns—both a symbol of the sun's glory and its most powerful defensive core.
A crimson light suddenly flashed around the outer perimeter of the Heavenly Dao Tower.
Almost simultaneously, the energy patterns on the surface of the Heavenly Dao Tower fluctuated violently, slithering and rearranging like a disturbed giant python. Countless probe beams shot out from all parts of the tower, sweeping towards the location where Tsukasa Kadoya appeared like an enraged swarm of bees. Each beam contained enough energy density to analyze the Fourth Generation God Body.
The golden light atop the tower instantly intensified several times over, and a vast and ancient energy consciousness awakened within it. It felt as if a colossal beast slumbering in the abyss had opened its eyes and cast its gaze upon the ant that dared to trespass into its territory.
Tsukasa Kadoya stood in the void hundreds of meters outside the Heavenly Path Tower, letting the probe beams sweep over him without dodging or retaliating. He simply narrowed his eyes slightly, sensing the ancient and familiar aura emanating from the tower.
"interesting."
He muttered to himself, pointed his camera at the Heavenly Path Tower, and pressed the shutter.
Click.
The sound of the shutter seemed particularly abrupt in the void.
"I didn't expect Di Hongkun to still be alive."
No sooner had he finished speaking than a golden streak of light tore through space and appeared in front of Tsukasa Kadoya almost instantly.
Pan Zhen.
The guardian of the blazing sun, the true pillar of the blazing sun civilization. He wore golden armor, surrounded by blazing solar fire, each flame enough to incinerate an asteroid. His gaze was like lightning, fixed on the uninvited guest before him, his hand already on the blazing sun weapon at his waist.
Dozens of elite Sunfire warriors emerged from the void, forming a tight net that blocked all possible escape routes. Golden energy chains intertwined between them, completely sealing off the space.
"What are you doing here, God of Earth?"
Pan Zhen's voice was deep and authoritative, carrying undisguised hostility. He didn't make a move, not out of hesitation—but because he sensed it. He sensed the eerie aura emanating from the being before him, a chaotic and dangerous quality that seemed to belong to no known system of rules.
Kadoya Tsukasa, however, seemed completely oblivious to the tense atmosphere. He simply looked calmly at Pan Zhen, then glanced at the Heavenly Path Tower, which was still operating and probing in the distance.
"It's nothing."
His tone remained calm and casual, as if he were chatting with a friend about today's weather.
"Just be prepared for the arrival of the Void. But I didn't expect..." He paused, his gaze sweeping over the Heavenly Dao Tower again, his smile deepening, "...there's another surprise. You Lieyang have been keeping things well hidden."
Pan Zhen's expression changed slightly.
He certainly knew what the "surprise" Tsukasa Kadoya was referring to was—the existence of Di Hongkun had always been Lieyang's biggest secret and its last trump card. The first Lieyang King, who slept inside the Heavenly Dao Tower, was Lieyang's true reliance in the universe. Even Keisha and Liang Bing only thought that Di Hongkun had already "fallen" or "disappeared," and had never confirmed whether he was still alive.
And now, this guy who suddenly appeared out of nowhere saw through the secret of the Heavenly Dao Tower at a glance.
"you……"
Just as Pan Zhen was about to speak, Tsukasa Kadoya waved his hand.
"Don't be nervous, I'm not here to pry into your secrets." His tone remained relaxed, but his eyes were unfathomable. "I'm just passing by and wanted to let you know. The letter has been delivered, I'm leaving. How you deal with it is your business."
A magenta light shone behind him once more.
But in his final moments before disappearing, Tsukasa Kadoya gave the Heavenly Path Tower a deep look. In that look, there was curiosity, scrutiny, and a hint of...respect.
It was as if we were having a silent conversation with that ancient being within the tower.
The light engulfed his figure. The dimensional barrier vanished.
The void returned to silence.
Pan Zhen stood rooted to the spot, his face ashen. The surrounding Sun Warriors exchanged bewildered glances, unsure of what to do. The golden energy chains were still intertwining in the void, but their "prey" had vanished without a trace.
"General..." an adjutant began cautiously.
Pan Zhen took a deep breath, suppressing his shock and apprehension. He turned to look at the Heavenly Dao Tower, his voice low and firm:
"Activate maximum alert. All Sunfire Aegis warriors currently on missions must return immediately."
He paused, seemingly making an extremely difficult decision.
"And... prepare to awaken His Majesty."
The adjutant looked up abruptly, his eyes filled with shock.
His Majesty.
That name hadn't been uttered in the Blazing Sun for millennia. It was a taboo of the Blazing Sun civilization, its last trump card. Every Blazing Sun warrior knew perfectly well what awakening His Majesty meant—it meant the Blazing Sun had reached the brink of extinction.
"yes!"
Without asking any further questions, the adjutant immediately turned and carried out the order.
Pan Zhen glanced one last time in the direction where Kadoya Tsukasa had disappeared, a complex expression flashing in his eyes.
The void descends. Di Hongkun's secret is exposed to outsiders. Can Lieyang... still protect this last sanctuary?
He didn't know the answer.
But he knew that whatever the answer was, he had no choice.
At the top of the Heavenly Tower, the golden light slowly receded, as if the awakened behemoth had closed its eyes once more. But that receding light was more like the calm before the storm.
The sky under the blazing sun remained golden and brilliant.
But everyone knew that this glory wouldn't last long.
