Super God Academy: Kabuto
Chapter 162 Untitled Draft 2
The morning light filtering through the thin mist in the Winter Cherry Blossom World casts a layer of shimmering gold across the lake. The deep thoughts of last night seem to be soothed by this tranquil scene, but deep down everyone knows that beneath the calm, gears are turning at an accelerated pace.
Inside the wooden cabin, He Xi was undergoing routine vital sign monitoring. Unlike conventional medical equipment, several complex light arrays composed of azure energy floated in front of her, gently encircling her lower abdomen, reading the most subtle life fluctuations and energy resonance data. Keisha assisted her, recording and analyzing the data simultaneously.
"Vitality signs are stable, and the energy field activity is 15 percent higher than expected," He Xi said, looking at the data flowing on the light array. Her eyes sparkled with maternal tenderness and the rigor of a researcher. "The little guy's gene sequence is highly dominant, combining some of A Yu's traits with my sacred code... His potential is immeasurable."
"Do we need to adjust the environmental energy ratio?" Keisha asked, tapping her fingertip on the virtual panel. "High activity levels may mean faster development, but they also require more precise energy management to avoid overburdening the larval stage."
"Not for now, natural conception is the best state." Lin Yu's voice came from the doorway. He was carrying a tray with fragrant breakfast. "However, we can prepare an enhanced version of the 'nurturing bed' in advance to help the baby adapt to energy and stabilize genes after birth." He walked over, put down the tray, and his gaze fell on the light array on He Xi's lower abdomen. His eyes were incredibly gentle.
"You've got a good head start," He Xi said with a smile as she accepted the warm drink he offered.
"Becoming a father naturally makes you think more." Lin Yu sat down beside her, his fingers gently touching the edge of the light array, feeling the pulse of the new life.
Mangdangshan, simulated training area.
"Bang! Boom boom boom—!"
A deafening impact and energy blast echoed throughout the area. It wasn't an enemy attack, but rather "adaptive training."
In the arena, Momotaros was wielding his giant hand axe, "DenGasher (Sword Mode)," howling excitedly as he clashed with Tsukasa Kadoya (Kabuto Mode), who had activated Cast Off. Sparks flew as the two moved at incredible speeds, leaving only afterimages in the eyes of ordinary warriors. Each collision generated visible shockwaves, but fortunately, the energy shield of the training arena was sturdy enough.
"Not bad, Decade! Much tougher than Ryotaro!" Momotaros laughed as he cleaved Kabuto's Rider Kick with his axe. "But I haven't even used my full strength yet!"
"Stop talking nonsense! You idiot who only knows how to charge around recklessly!" Kadoya Tsukasa's voice carried his usual calm and sarcastic tone, but his actions were decisive. Seizing the gap in Momotaros's attack, he instantly activated Clock Up!
However, as an Imagin, Momotaros was exceptionally sensitive to changes in time. Almost at the same time that Tsukasa Kadoya accelerated, the flow of time around him was also subtly distorted and interfered with. Although it could not completely counteract the time-rise, it caused a predictable deviation in Tsukasa Kadoya's attack trajectory.
"Heh heh, time tricks don't work that well on me!" Momotaros yelled and swung his axe in a preemptive sweep!
"Tch!" Tsukasa Kadoya instantly canceled his Rise Mode and switched to a high-speed sidestep, while simultaneously launching his Ride Booker Sword Mode sword, which clashed violently with the giant axe!
On the sidelines, Qi Lin, Liu Chuang, Zhao Xin, and even Angel Leng and Angel Zhi Xin, along with other elites, watched this battle that defied conventional understanding, their eyes glued to the screen.
"This red-skinned monster... he's actually quite skilled." Liu Chuang stroked his chin. Although he didn't understand the temporal aspects of the clash, he understood the pure aesthetics of violence. "That axe wielding is impressive!"
Zhi Xin, however, focused on the energy level: "The energy composition of that Otherworldly God is extremely unique, seemingly possessing a physical form, an energy body, and a certain temporal state simultaneously... If we can analyze its stabilization mechanism, it might provide insights into the defense against void energy." Zhao Xin, standing beside her, immediately nodded in agreement: "Yes, yes, my wife is right!"
She crossed her arms and scoffed, "Fancy." But her gaze remained fixed on the battlefield, clearly assessing the strengths and weaknesses of this unfamiliar combat system.
The training lasted for about half an hour, and finally ended with Tsukasa Kadoya's precise Rider Kick, which incorporated some of the cutting characteristics of "Dimensional Slash", temporarily "pinning" Momotaros to the energy shield.
"Phew...that felt good!" Momotaros, though pinned down, looked completely satisfied. "Fighting in this universe is so much fun! Decade, next time let's find some even harder targets!"
Tsukasa Kadoya deactivated his transformation, wiped away non-existent sweat, and said helplessly, "You should learn to abide by the 'Energy Output Safety Regulations' here first. The third attack just now exceeded the threshold by 20%, and the alarm almost went off throughout the entire ship."
"Ugh, I know, I know, what a hassle!" Momotaros transformed into a red light, breaking free from the "imprisonment" and floating in the air.
This training session, seemingly a release of Momotaros's excess energy and Tsukasa Kadoya's "discipline," actually became a lesson for the Super Soldier Corps to come into contact with the angels, observe them, and begin to adapt to the "unconventional power system." Such "interludes" are necessary to maintain morale amidst the tense combat preparations.
Frieza, deep in the icy wasteland. Ge Xiaolun followed behind Angel Yan, trudging through knee-deep snow. The wind was biting, but it posed no problem for him and Yan. They had been away from the camp for some time, surrounded by an endless white world, so silent that only the sound of the wind could be heard.
"This is it." Yan stopped in his tracks. Before him lay the ruins of an ancient altar, half-hidden by ice and snow. The stone altar was weathered and damaged, but some of the remaining runes still emitted an extremely faint energy that resonated slightly with the Galactic Force gene within Ge Xiaolun's body.
"This is..." Ge Xiaolun squatted down, brushed away the snow with his fingers, and carefully examined the runes.
"An ancient sacrificial site, where the object of worship was not a specific deity, but rather grander concepts such as 'sky,' 'earth,' and 'reincarnation.'" Yan's voice sounded somewhat ethereal in the wind. "Annie Cid's ancestors once prayed here for favorable weather. Later, angels descended, spreading righteous faith, and this place gradually fell into disuse."
She turned to look at Ge Xiaolun: "I brought you here not for nostalgia, but to let you experience what life's most primal desires and reverence were before so-called 'justice' and 'evil' were labeled."
Ge Xiaolun remained silent, pressing his hands firmly against the cold runes and closing his eyes. He abandoned the active perception of his supergenes, simply using his most ordinary heart to feel. The cold wind, the snow, the faint flow of ley lines deep within the frozen earth beneath his feet, the remnants of the altar, the lingering obsession condensed from the devout prayers of countless generations of Feralas… a rough, primal, yet incredibly resilient sense of "life force" flowed up from his fingertips.
He opened his eyes and looked at Yan: "Are you saying that the angels' just order may have brought rules and protection to the universe, but it may also inadvertently cover up or ignore these more fundamental and diverse needs of life?"
Yan didn't answer directly, but gazed at the distant snow line: "Queen Keisha's just order is the most magnificent beacon in the known universe, guiding countless civilizations out of ignorance and war. But it is also an incredibly heavy monument. Now, the Queen has 'fallen,' and the beacon's light needs a new source to sustain it, or... to be re-examined." She looked at Ge Xiaolun, her eyes no longer mocking or teasing, but genuinely engaged in an equal discussion, "Xiaolun, you are the power of the galaxy, the chief god of Earth, and... someone who stands shoulder to shoulder with me. On the road ahead, what role do you hope to play? To become the inheritor of another beacon, or... to find a different path?"
Ge Xiaolun stood facing the wind and snow, lost in thought for a long time. He thought of the conflicts and unity on Earth, his comrades in the Super Soldier Squad, Lin Yu's transcendent and gentle way of being, and the cold reality of the Shenhe Civilization being wiped out with a single blow.
"I don't know the specific path forward," he finally spoke, his voice steady and firm, "but I do know that whether protecting Earth or facing the wider universe, power shouldn't just be a yardstick for judging and defining 'justice' or 'evil.' It should be used to understand differences, balance conflicts, and leave room for life... including those whose ideals may differ from ours, for choice and evolution." He paused, looking at Yan, "And on this path, I need you, I need the Super Soldier Corps, I need everyone willing to fight for the 'future' rather than 'order,' to walk this path together."
In the wind and snow, Yan quietly watched him, her long golden hair and white wings fluttering gently in the wind. After a long while, she slowly revealed a smile, no longer the distant smile of an angel king, but a more genuine smile, even carrying a hint of relief.
"It seems you've really grown up, kid." She extended her hand. "Then, future Galactic Force, it'll be a pleasure to cooperate."
Ge Xiaolun grasped her hand, his voice warm yet firm: "It's been a pleasure working with you, Yan."
