Super God Academy: Kabuto
Chapter 150 Untitled Draft
In the miniature world of winter cherry blossoms, by a lakeside cabin, Lin Yu stood at the window, his gaze distant, as if piercing through the gentle barrier of this miniature world and looking into the depths of an endless starry sea. Outside, winter cherry blossoms drifted silently down, the lake surface undisturbed, a scene of tranquility, yet it made his figure appear somewhat lost in thought.
"Honey, what are you thinking about?" He Xi's languid voice came from the sofa. She leaned back on the soft cushions, one hand unconsciously stroking her lower abdomen, her azure eyes looking at Lin Yu with a questioning gaze.
Hearing the sound, Lin Yu turned around, the slight solemnity on his face replaced by a gentle smile. He walked over and sat down next to He Xi, naturally reaching out to gently place his large, warm palm on the back of her hand that was stroking her belly, feeling the tiny life stirring beneath her, connected to his bloodline.
"I'm thinking," his voice was soft and filled with longing, "what will our baby look like? When will he be so eager to come and see us?" He looked up, his gaze passing over He Xi and landing on Keisha, who was quietly reading by the window. A mischievous yet warm light flashed in his eyes. "Keisha, look, Pipi Xi is going to be a mother. Why don't you... consider it too? The two little ones can grow up together, keeping each other company. How lively that would be!"
Keisha looked up from her book, her silver eyes sweeping over Lin Yu with a faint, indifferent gaze. There was no anger in her eyes, but rather a knowing understanding of his hidden thoughts, and a barely perceptible gentleness. She didn't respond to his question, but simply put down her book, got up, and sat down on the other side of He Xi, gently touching He Xi's stomach as well.
"Time really does fly." Keisha's voice was calm, yet carried the感慨 (gǎnkǎi, a deep sense of感慨) that comes with the passage of time. "It feels like... overthrowing Hua Ye's tyranny, establishing a just order, and leading the angelic civilization to its peak all happened just yesterday, major events that required our full effort." She felt the steady pulse of new life at her fingertips, and the corners of her mouth turned up slightly. "In the blink of an eye, we are sitting here, talking about the future of our child."
He Xi gently rested her head on Lin Yu's shoulder and replied, her tone filled with a distant reminiscence: "Yes, I still remember the three of us... staying up all night in the laboratory of the Heavenly Court of Merlo calculating star charts, fighting side by side against the Fallen Ones on the battlefield, always feeling like there was never enough to do, never enough to fight." Feeling the movement of the fetus in her womb, her smile deepened, "Who would have thought that one day, we'd be worrying about what name to give the child and what kind of little clothes to prepare?"
Time spent inside the cabin felt exceptionally long and warm, filled with the impending arrival of a new life and the memories of past glories, as if all the conflicts and conspiracies in the universe had been temporarily kept away from this cherry blossom lake.
On the outskirts of the Styx Galaxy, at the exit of the Great Insect Bridge, space distorted violently and erratically. A figure staggered out—it was Hua Ye. He looked even more disheveled than on the battlefield. His royal robes were tattered, the cracks in his armor were unrepaired, his aura was weak, and golden bloodstains lingered at the corners of his mouth. The light of the void wings on his back was dim, barely able to maintain their stable shape.
"Damn it!" He spat fiercely, his single eye filled with shock, anger, and lingering fear. "This wretched little planet... this remote, known universe, when did so many monsters appear?!" He recalled the magenta knight's unpredictable attack that tore through the rules. "There's no way to fight him! That bastard Karl, did he know all along?!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the space around him rippled like water, and Ruoning stepped out of the wormhole. Seeing Hua Ye's condition, a complex emotion flashed in her eyes, but she quickly stepped forward to help him: "Hua Ye, are you... alright?"
"You won't die!" Hua Ye shook off her hand, forcing himself to stand up straight, his face so dark it could drip water. "Tell those useless gluttonous cannon fodder to retreat! Stop sending them to their deaths! Now, immediately, go find Karl!" He gritted his teeth, his single eye flashing with resentment and greed. "Only by ascending to the fifth-generation divine body and mastering even stronger void power can I go back... and collect this debt with interest!"
