Super God Academy: Kabuto

Chapter 145 Facing the Battle

The warmth and joyful sounds of the Winter Cherry Blossom World seemed to transcend the barriers of space, rippling gently in the darkness.

A void, a space between concepts.

Lin Yu, dressed in black, quietly "gazes" at the almost unreal, heartwarming scene within the small world—Lin Yu carefully helps He Xi sit down, Keisha's fingertips condense a gentle aura of energy, lightly covering He Xi's lower abdomen, and the three of them share a mixture of surprise, tenderness, and boundless anticipation for the future. His cold lips twitched almost imperceptibly upwards.

"Everything is indeed changing." His whisper was like a sigh, yet tinged with a playful scrutiny. "The variables of life, the anchors of emotions... Let me see what interesting direction you can push this deviation from its original trajectory in."

His gaze immediately shifted to the deeper, more chaotic dimension—the void. There, an invisible pressure was slowly but steadily building. The relaxed look in his eyes vanished, replaced by a calm decisiveness.

"The curtain is about to rise, the audience has arrived." He muttered to himself, his figure slowly merging into the surrounding nothingness. "I should make some preparations. Otherwise, that old man Kieran will probably be nagging me again from the other side of the river of time about not keeping my 'promise'."

Before his figure completely disappeared, he seemed to glance one last time in the direction of the hut, leaving behind a barely audible murmur: "The hope of new life... perhaps, is the most unexpected variable."

Mangdang Mountain, the entertainment venue, was so lively it almost lifted the roof off. A makeshift table was piled high with food (and even more drinks and alcohol), and the soldiers of the Super Soldier Company and the angels who had come to support them had, for once, relaxed from their tense combat readiness and gathered together.

Zhao Xin was clearly one of the main characters tonight. He gulped down a drink to bolster his courage, his face flushed red amidst the deliberate commotion created by Liu Chuang and Ge Xiaolun. But he still mustered his courage and walked to Zhi Xin, who stood quietly to the side, a smile on her face. He didn't kneel dramatically; instead, he tightly grasped Zhi Xin's hand. His usual glib tongue was completely gone, leaving only a few stammering but incredibly sincere words, the core meaning of which was crystal clear—after this battle, he wanted to be with her forever. A smile more radiant than starlight shone in Zhi Xin's clear blue eyes. She nodded gently and embraced him. Whistles, cheers, and applause erupted around them. Even the usually serious Angel Leng's lips curved into a faint, almost blessing-like smile.

After the proposal, the atmosphere relaxed even more. Zhi Xin and Zhao Xin sat in a corner, whispering things only they could understand. Zhi Xin would occasionally tap Zhao Xin's excitedly flushed forehead with her finger. Liu Chuang sidled up to Leng, scratching his head, trying to find a topic to talk about. Leng crossed her arms, still wearing a "mortal, stay away from me" expression, but at least she didn't leave immediately. Occasionally, she would utter a few words that would make Liu Chuang grin foolishly for a long time. Ge Xiaolun leaned against the porthole, holding a cup in his hand, watching his comrades' happy couples and the rare relaxed smiles of the angel warriors. But involuntarily, the image of that slender figure holding the King's Sword, standing amidst the thunder, floated before his eyes. Longing was like the starry sky outside the window, silent, yet vast and boundless.

Qi Lin, He Weilan, Rui Mengmeng, and a few other girls gathered together, chatting and laughing. The alcohol made their cheeks flushed, and they temporarily forgot the shadow of war. Qi Lin smiled and reached for the bottle again, but another hand gently pressed down on her wrist.

Tsukasa Kadoya appeared at the doorway at some point. He glanced at the lively scene, his gaze finally settling on Kirin, whose cheeks were flushed, and his brows furrowed slightly. He walked straight over, the surrounding noise seemingly making way for him.

"Still want to drink?" His voice wasn't loud, carrying a hint of helplessness, but more so an undeniable concern.

Qi Lin looked up and saw it was him. Her smile deepened, tinged with a slightly tipsy, innocent air. She grabbed his fingers and said, "Mmm... I'm happy. Master Xin proposed successfully!"

Tsukasa Kadoya didn't reply, but simply used a gentle pull to lift her from her seat and draw her into his arms, the movement as natural as if it had been rehearsed a thousand times. Kirin also nestled against his chest, rubbing against him contentedly like a kitten that had found its nest.

"Everyone, please continue." Tsukasa Kadoya nodded to the crowd looking at them, and said succinctly, "I'll take this 'little confused cat' back to rest first."

Amid Zhao Xin's "Yo~~" and Liu Chuang's teasing, "Little Ming is taking care of things now?", Kadoya Tsukasa remained unfazed, half-embracing and half-carrying the obedient Qi Lin as they left the cabin filled with joy and hormones.

The hatch closed, temporarily shutting out the noise in the room. The corridor was softly lit, and footsteps echoed gently. Tsukasa Kadoya looked down at Kirin, who was leaning against him with heavy eyelids, tightened his grip slightly, and walked steadily toward her resting cabin.
