Covering the Sky: A Guide to Proving the Dao Without Cheats
Chapter 31 The Secret of Physique
The original work doesn't describe the "disaster of being lost" in much detail; it's probably just a small step that those privileged individuals could easily step over.
But it was truly dangerous for Luo Heng, and without much confidence, he had no choice but to stop for the time being.
After all, he could obtain things like cultivation techniques, resources, and treasures through his "foresight," but the one thing he couldn't change in a short period of time was his mindset.
He knew he was just an ordinary person, and he was quite apprehensive about facing such a test that directly addressed his core beliefs.
Therefore, I have to postpone my cultivation.
He didn't want to perish in the future darkness and turmoil, but instead fall victim to the "Disaster of Loss" in the Sea of Wheels.
If such a thing were to actually happen, then his existence as a time traveler would be far too ridiculous.
Although his cultivation level has not advanced yet, after he devoured all 825 origins of various physiques, he has activated 61,700 "Divine Treasure Gates" within his body.
At this moment, he felt the Daoist energy flowing endlessly around him, his body glowing, and his blood and qi as bright as the sunset, as if he had already stepped into the true realm of the King's Body.
According to the "Undying Heavenly Technique", the number of divine treasure gates activated by the innate nature of supreme physiques such as the Ancient Sacred Body and the Azure Heaven Overlord Body is 108,000.
The number of Divine Treasure Gates activated by top-tier physiques such as the Divine King Physique and the Heavenly Demon Physique is between 80,000 and 100,000. As for ordinary King Physiques, the number of Divine Treasure Gates is mostly between 50,000 and 80,000.
Finally, those who activated the Divine Treasure Gate, numbering between ten thousand and fifty thousand, were ordinary geniuses. They were all one in ten thousand, possessing physiques that could be considered treasure bodies.
They are also the main targets of the Devouring Heaven Demon Art and the Undying Heaven Art, otherwise where would they get the myriad physique origins to devour?
As for the innate sacred body and Dao embryo, although it is not recorded in the "Undying Heavenly Technique", Luo Heng speculates that it may have activated more than 129,000 divine treasure gates and is already infinitely close to the limit of the physique.
In addition, the special existence of "Imperial Sons" deserves special mention.
When discussing imperial sons, one must first talk about ancient emperors and great emperors.
The original work mentioned that in order to attain the Dao and become an emperor, one must cultivate the five great secret realms to perfection and then make the ultimate leap.
However, if the Great Emperor has indeed cultivated the five secret realms to absolute perfection, then what are they cultivating after becoming Emperor?
You should know that between the Great Emperor and the Immortal King, there is a realm called "True Immortal"!
It is evident that the so-called Great Emperor did not truly cultivate the five secret realms to absolute perfection, but rather reached "relative perfection" within the current system.
According to the "Undying Heavenly Technique", the primary foundation for proving the Dao and becoming an emperor is to open at least 108,000 divine treasure gates within the body, and on this basis, construct a unique divine treasure array that perfectly matches one's own imperial laws.
Only those who reach this level can have a physique that can be called the "Imperial Physique".
Of course, this number is not absolute, but it can only be more, not less. Moreover, these opened gates of divine treasures must be interconnected to form a "divine treasure array" that belongs only to oneself.
Only in this way can one truly step into the realm of the Emperor.
It is precisely because of this that after the Ancient Sacred Body is perfected, one can challenge the ancient emperors and even the supreme beings who are willing to risk their lives to sever their own flesh.
Because after the Holy Body was perfected, it had already reached the standard of "Emperor Body". In addition, with its super long health bar, it was able to fight against the Ancient Emperor.
This is not an isolated case. For example, the Ten Fiends in "Perfect World" are mostly at the peak of True Immortal, yet they can rely on their bloodline and physical body, or forbidden secret techniques, to fight against Immortal Kings who are of higher levels.
Is this similar to the Great Accomplished Holy Body challenging the Ancient Emperor?
After all, if you want to fight against someone of a higher level, you need to have at least one basic statistic that is on the same level as your opponent, right?
Whether it's physical body, laws, or supernatural powers and secret techniques, if you are truly inferior to others in every aspect, how can you even talk about competing against those of higher levels?
Knowing about the ancient emperor's situation, one can understand the situation of the emperor's son.
These imperial sons, having inherited the bloodline of the Great Emperor, are born with the ability to activate parts of the divine treasure gates cultivated by their fathers.
Although these portals are not a complete system, their number often exceeds 108,000.
Therefore, most imperial sons are born with top-tier physical talents at the level of holy body or hegemon body, giving them a starting point far exceeding that of ordinary cultivators.
The so-called bloodline of the Great Emperor is, in essence, a "pseudo-special constitution" that is highly compatible with a specific imperial scripture.
However, this kind of "constitution" has not been recognized by the Great Dao of Heaven and Earth, and therefore lacks the innate supernatural powers or extraordinary phenomena of those with special innate constitutions.
Furthermore, this "pseudo-special constitution" will deteriorate as it is passed down through the bloodline. Specifically, the number of activated Divine Gates within the body will gradually decrease.
This is also different from a truly special constitution.
Offspring with a special constitution either fully inherit that constitution or do not possess it at all; there is usually no phenomenon of gradual decline across generations.
However, the descendants of the emperor also possessed an unparalleled advantage.
That is because they possess imperial scriptures that perfectly resonate with their own bloodline. Therefore, their cultivation progresses rapidly, and their combat abilities at the same level often far surpass those of others.
This is precisely why, after they grew up, those imperial princes were also capable of participating in the war to quell the dark turmoil.
To use a game analogy, a special constitution is like collecting a complete set of equipment and activating the "set effect." The Emperor's Bloodline is like several individual pieces of equipment with extremely high attributes.
The two approaches differ, each has its own merits, and there is no absolute superiority or inferiority between them.
Of course, the way of heaven is ever-changing, and nothing is absolute. Although a special physique and the bloodline of an emperor grant one innate talents that are difficult for ordinary people to attain, one is still limited by the inherent constraints of that bloodline.
The original work mentioned that imperial princes can usually reach the realm of half-step enlightenment or alternative enlightenment.
When a cultivator opens the 108,000 doors of divine treasures within the human body and connects them into an array, transforming them into a whole, they achieve the "Emperor's Body," which can be called "half-step to enlightenment."
Afterwards, if one can further complete one's understanding of the rules of heaven and earth, create a Dao that belongs to oneself, and condense an incomplete imperial Dao law, then one will have "initial attainment of the Dao in an alternative way".
If one wishes to advance further, one must adjust the 108,000 "Divine Treasure Gates" within one's body, allowing them to gradually merge and resonate with the "Imperial Laws" one has comprehended.
However, the so-called "Imperial Way Laws" are actually a cultivator's understanding of heaven and earth, all living beings, and himself. How easy is it to change this understanding rooted in one's heart?
Therefore, most practitioners can only repeatedly refine and adjust their spiritual gates in order to painstakingly approach their own "Tao".
When you begin to adjust the gate of the divine treasure within your body, you are already breaking the divine treasure array that was formed innately.
At this point, you have broken free from the constraints of your original physique and are no longer referred to as having a "special physique," but are a powerful "mortal."
Only by breaking free from the innate framework imposed by one's special physique can one truly embrace the infinite possibilities inherent in a "mortal body," thereby giving birth to the "Imperial Body" and "Imperial Laws" most suitable for oneself.
Once the "Imperial Body" and the "Ultimate Dao Laws" are perfectly matched, it will be a "completely unconventional path to enlightenment".
If there is no emperor in this world at this time, then one is qualified to merge the imperial body with the laws of the imperial way, take that final leap, pass through the imperial tribulation, and become the great emperor of this world.
In the original work, a typical Great Accomplishment Holy Body should be at the "half-step to enlightenment" level.
When Ye Fan was besieged by four supreme beings from forbidden zones using the Immortal Slaughtering Sword Formation, Ye Tong, the Holy Prince, and the Human Demon came to his rescue. The Great Roc Emperor once commented that they "have only just touched the threshold and have not yet completely achieved the Dao in an alternative way, so they are not worth worrying about."
It seems that at that time, they were in the stage of "initial alternative enlightenment".
Gai Jiuyou, on the other hand, should have already reached the realm of "completely alternative enlightenment".
