Chapter 23: There really is a talent scout?

Since being severely disappointed by the monthly exam at the end of August, Si Hua has recently focused her attention back on reviewing her academic subjects.

There wasn't anything special about it, it was just simple practice of coding problems.

This is a method I practiced in my past life, and it's perfect for test-takers like myself who like to use clever tricks to cram for exams.

In his past life, Si Hua relied on a crazy amount of practice questions to raise his score from below the junior college cutoff to 21 points above the first-tier university cutoff in just three months.

If it weren't for that cup of milk tea before the science exam, I might have scored ten points higher.

On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, we do practice tests. Apart from outlining the Chinese composition, we have to finish the remaining four complete tests—Chinese, Math, English, and Science—within one day.

Check the answers, correct mistakes, and memorize difficult points on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. If you still don't understand the answers, ask your teacher or classmates for clarification.

Over the course of three months, Si Hua devoured more than thirty sets of past exam papers or the latest mock exams for all subjects, which stacked up to be over a meter high.

Of course, I realized this early in my life, so I don't have to push myself to such an extreme. After all, doing three sets of practice tests every week is also very dangerous.

However, it is still necessary to ensure that two sets of comprehensive exam papers are provided every month.

Now that the senior high school students have been in school for more than a month, the returning junior high students and the freshmen have also arrived in the last two weeks. The entire No. 1 High School in the city seems to have suddenly come alive and become lively.

In particular, the welcome party held last Friday night was a grand affair, with teachers and students leading a group of art and sports students in a lavish celebration that left a lasting impression.

Every day, I could hear younger students discussing the party in the cafeteria, on the road, and on the playground.

Lin Lin, who was both the host and a performer on the show, stole the show, not only defeating a group of young boys but also gaining a large following of female fans.

Many first-year high school boys and girls, using excuses such as being unfamiliar with the campus or always getting lost, frequently visit the corridors outside the senior humanities classes.

Moreover, it's as if the screen refreshes and it gets a slowdown debuff. A corridor that's less than ten meters long takes more than a minute to walk through, completely blocking the entire fourth-floor corridor.

Those senior high school students who urgently need to go to the toilet during breaks are suffering terribly.

In the end, the school had the first-year homeroom teachers warn the freshmen not to go to the senior high school building to disturb the seniors' review.

This finally quelled the incident of a freshman getting lost, which almost became a new campus ghost story.

"It's so hard to guess what these first-year high school students want to see!"

Completely ignoring the blushing face of a popular female host at the welcome party, Si Hua asked a sarcastic question with an air of righteous indignation.

Then, as he wished, he received a move from the Buddha's Palm...

Why is it that you got what you wanted?

Oh dear, this is hard to guess.

After a while, Si Hua finally remembered the important matter: "Why did you come to find me? Is it urgent?"

The two were chatting while leaning on the railing of the corridor between the two classrooms. It was quite rare for Lin Lin to take the initiative to find Si Hua during the break.

After all, this little group basically used the multimedia classroom as their base. The mornings were all regular classes, and the teachers would refresh the page from time to time, so there was no need to specifically find someone to chat during breaks.

Senior year of high school isn't that free.

"Can't I come to see you if there's nothing wrong?" Lin Lin asked, a little annoyed.

"It's not impossible, but if you contact me for no reason, I might have something to do." After saying that, Si Hua gestured for her to look behind them with his thumb.

Lin Lin looked back, somewhat confused.

Whoosh! Lin Lin noticed countless eyes focused on the two of them.

Most of the students in the liberal arts class and Lingzhi class stared intently at Si Hua and Lin Lin through the windows and doorways, while students from several other classes further away were also peeking around.

The girl looked gossipy, while the boy looked livid.

Oh, and there was also a small group of girls with pale faces.

Of course, amidst the grim blue, there was also a heartbroken face, as if witnessing a sacred goddess being violated by goblins.

Even though this goblin was tall and not ugly, he still thought it was a goblin.

The one who is heartbroken is Zhou Zhe, a child who is desperate yet not completely hopeless.

After all, they're family; if it really works out, it's like keeping the good stuff within the family...

It's just frustrating that it's not my own land.

In response, Si Huarui commented: Perhaps this is the helplessness of youth.

Lin Lin instantly understood and turned her head back as if nothing had happened, adopting an attitude of being upright and not afraid of being wronged.

If Si Hua hadn't noticed that her movements were a little hesitant, he would have truly believed her nonchalant attitude.

"Cough cough, ignore these people, they're just bored." Si Hua dared not take the Tathagata Palm again; one a day was about enough, any more and he wouldn't be able to withstand it.

"Okay, okay!"

"..." Someone covered their face. "Speak up, what's the matter? The break is about to end."

"Oh, it's Aunt Lei. She said she's coming to school this afternoon and has made an appointment with the head of the grade. She wants us to go to the meeting room then."

Si Hua was a little confused. It seemed that it wasn't time for Pan Lei's backers to make their move yet, so why did they suddenly come over?

"Okay, I understand. Thank you for the notification, Lin Lin!" Without thinking too much about it, Si Hua deliberately spoke loudly, which seemed a bit like an attempt to cover up his mistake.

But Zhou Zhe and Chen Yu knew perfectly well that this person was trying to cover up the truth.

-----------------

"Aunt Lei, it's been a long time."

Upon entering the reception room, Si Hua saw Pan Lei's plump figure and immediately felt a sense of kinship, so he took the initiative to greet her.

"Auntie Lei, I miss you so much!" Lin Lin rushed over and wrapped her arms around Pan Lei's arm, pleading sweetly.

"How about you take us out for roast duck later?" This was the real purpose behind her coquettish behavior.

Actually, the cafeteria at No. 1 High School in the city does serve roast duck. After all, it is a key provincial high school, and the cafeteria cannot be careless. The dishes are even better than those of some universities.

However, roast duck cooked in a large pot doesn't quite capture the essence of the dish.

Even so, it doesn't stop those senior high school students who have the tradition of leaving get out of class early to rush to the cafeteria from using all sorts of tricks to get a few roasted duck legs.

Even Lin Lin, who has a background in sprinting, hasn't been able to snag a roast duck leg for almost two weeks. Who knows how those weak scholars managed to get one...

The pretty girl is feeling down.

"Okay, okay, we'll stay here until school is over after we finish talking, and then I'll take you guys to eat at Kangji."

"Yay!"

Pan Lei affectionately patted Lin Lin's head, then turned to Si Hua, who was sitting slouching, and told him her purpose.

"A music company is inquiring about you."

Oh wow, it really is an unexpected emergency.

Si Hua immediately sat up straight. Whatever the plans of this suddenly appearing music company, it would make the industry's publicity plans uncontrollable.

"Does Aunt Lei know which company it is?"

Pan Lei smiled slightly, but didn't answer directly: "What do you think?"

Si Hua knew that Pan Lei was assigning him homework, so he started to think.

First, exclude independent labels or small companies.

It makes no sense for them to inquire about an unknown high school student, and it's not worth Pan Lei specifically telling them about it, especially since it's a small group.

Moreover, as a student, I don't know much about the industry. I can only guess at a few well-known companies, namely Universal, Sony, and Warner.

Someone who would secretly inquire about the creator of a video must have recognized some kind of ability they possess.

With this in mind, Si Hua began to summarize and analyze the abilities he had demonstrated in this video.

The question already reveals that it's a music company, so we can rule out IP incubation and world-building capabilities, which are things that film and television companies or animation studios would only focus on.

Moreover, this ability wasn't really showcased in this video.

In that case, the most obvious ability in this video is the ultimate control over audio-visual synchronization, which projects the storytelling ability of visual music.

With that in mind, the answer becomes obvious.

"Is it Universal Music?" Although it was a question, Si Hua was quite certain.

Then he received confirmation of his answer from Pan Lei's satisfied smile.
