Marvel: I am Iron Man
Chapter 62 Asgardian Infiltration
Tony soon discovered that magical research was indeed not something that could be accomplished overnight.
Of course, this wasn't surprising; he was prepared. In the animated series, Tony did create a magic eraser, but that was only achieved with Thor's active cooperation and after a considerable amount of time.
While it's true that "magic can be analyzed scientifically," no one has said that this path will be easy. After all, it's a completely different system from human technology, and the fact that it can be understood using known science is enough to prove Tony's extraordinary intelligence in the original work.
Although he didn't expect to achieve his goal in one go, Tony still benefited greatly from the research he had done over the past day.
Although the hammer had been lying in the pit, it was still continuously emitting a certain amount of special energy fluctuations. This was the first time Tony had had the opportunity to come into contact with a magical artifact, and a high-grade one at that. Every bit of data about it was a valuable reference, so he naturally recorded it all.
Tony, like everyone else, symbolically went up and tried to hold the hammer.
Very good, it doesn't budge.
Of course, this result was not surprising at all. There was no reason why the original Tony couldn't lift the hammer, but since he was already here, he felt that something was missing if he didn't try.
Back in his tent that night, Tony was still studying the data he had gathered during the day.
He used his simple projection equipment to project a holographic 3D model of the hammer into the tent, next to which was the energy curve measured during the day.
Jarvis's voice came through his headphones: "The energy signature of this hammer is certainly interesting, sir."
“Yeah, that’s interesting.” Tony said, stroking his chin. “But it’s more than that, Jarvis. Its energy curve is flattening right now, like it’s asleep. If it wakes up, the data will be much more interesting.”
Jarvis: "How did you know that, sir?"
"I just know."
The communicator inside the tent beeped twice; someone from the S.H.I.E.L.D. camp was calling him. Tony pressed the answer button.
"Mr. Stark, it's the hammer!" the S.H.I.E.L.D. operative on night duty monitoring the hammer's data reported. "The hammer's energy level has started rising for the first time in days! We can't yet determine what variable is causing this reaction..."
Upon hearing this, Tony immediately understood: "Oh, it's finally here."
Even his closest friend Jarvis couldn't keep up with Tony's pace: "What did you say, sir?"
"Oh, it's nothing. I've just been waiting for someone, and they should be here soon," Tony said.
Jarvis was still confused: "I'm sorry, sir, I don't recall us waiting for anyone..."
Tony smiled and didn't answer Jarvis, but instead connected with Agent Coulson.
Once the communication connected, Coulson immediately said, "Have you heard, Stark? The hammer's energy radiation is rising. Could this be dangerous...?"
"Don't worry, it's not dangerous yet. But listen, someone might be coming later... or maybe they'll be a little later? I'm not sure," Tony said. "But since the hammer's energy level is rising, I think it means he should be close."
Coulson was a little confused: "Who? Who did you say is coming?"
"You don't need to know too much about the hammer's owner for now. But you can pass this message on: the target is a blond, blue-eyed, muscular man who will try to break into this camp to find the hammer."
Tony said.
"Tell your men not to stop him, otherwise it'll be bad if either our agents get hurt or he gets hurt. Especially don't fire, otherwise you'll complicate what should be a simple matter."
"You mean, an outsider is going to break into S.H.I.E.L.D.'s top-secret camp, but you told me not to stop him?" Coulson said seriously. "How much do you actually know, Mr. Stark? I think I need more details..."
Coulson wanted to ask more questions. But just then, someone came to Coulson and reported, "Sir, the watchtower has spotted someone on the outskirts of the camp. Judging from their movements, they seem to be trying to break in."
Coulson hesitated for a few seconds, thinking about what Tony had just said, but quickly made a decision.
"Relay the order to the entire unit: do not intercept," Coulson paused, then added, emphasizing, "especially do not fire."
...
...
Thor has made many reckless decisions in his life. For example, taking on the Frost Giants single-handedly, or spilling mead on his father's cloak at a victory banquet, or now, deciding to storm the heavily guarded Midgard base surrounded by Mjolnir.
He could tell that the base was full of ordinary warriors, and he also knew that it would not be easy for him, who had been reduced to a mortal body by his father, to break in.
But this, of course, cannot stop God Weythor. He is an Asgardian prince who has never feared battle in his life, and even losing his divine power cannot change who he is.
Thor imagined himself surrounded, engaging in a fierce battle with mortals in the base, and after a blood-pumping struggle, grasping the handle of Mjolnir's hammer. Then, riding the thunder and lightning, he soared into the sky, displaying his divine power before the mortals, leaving them dumbfounded...
Just thinking about it made his warrior blood boil.
Thor nimbly leaped over the fence, landed, rolled gracefully, and then quickly took cover in a nearby bunker.
He glanced around to make sure no one was watching him, and confirmed that the camp's searchlights were sweeping across the open space ahead. Then, with lightning speed, he darted out and disappeared into the next cover, cautiously observing the situation.
However, Thor, who thought his stealth skills were maxed out, was unaware that two SHIELD agents on lookout were chatting while watching Thor's stealth.
"Do you think he feels like nobody's watching him?" Agent A said.
"Probably. But what's so special about this guy? Why did the boss let him in?" Agent B asked casually.
"Who knows?" Agent A shrugged. "We'll find out if we keep watching."
"..."
Great, no one noticed.
Saul nodded in satisfaction.
He, Thor, is the strongest warrior in Asgard, not just a brute who can swing a hammer head-on. Infiltrating silently is no challenge for him either.
So, with the outer sentries turning a blind eye, Thor tensed his muscles, nimbly bypassed a group of tents, and quickly advanced towards the location of his beloved Mjolnir.
Then, at a corner of a camp, Saul, like a spy, rolled out of the corner...
...Then, quite embarrassingly, a woman in a white coat walked out of the tent, carrying a stack of documents, and came face to face with him.
Thor remained in a half-squatting position, while his opponent remained in a stepping position; both of them stopped moving simultaneously.
The atmosphere became awkward for a moment.
If the opponent had been a muscular man, Thor would have knocked him unconscious with a single punch to maintain his perfect infiltration score. But the opponent was a woman, and his warrior pride caused him to hesitate for a moment.
However, before Saul could even raise his fist, the woman glanced at him and then walked away while flipping through the documents in her hand.
Thor froze even more.
I was... ignored?
