Marvel: I am Iron Man
Chapter 45 Crow's Whereabouts
boom!
The shockwave from the explosion ripped outwards, hurling the tank turret into the air, scattering twisted metal fragments like flower petals. The tracks were blown in two, twitching like severed centipede legs. Flames shot ten meters high from the tank's hull, turning the wreckage into a burning tombstone.
Amir felt utterly shocked.
Because he clearly saw what had caused such destruction—a missile. Small, housed in the arm armor of that armored forearm, it was the size of a miniature model, some kind of exquisite toy.
This little thing, not even as long as my penis, was released in a flash.
A heavy tank, just like that, was gone.
Is this really scientific?!
Even someone as small as an anti-tank missile, small enough to fit in a pocket, doesn't require Amir to be an expert in modern military affairs or to have a deep understanding of technology to comprehend the impact such a weapon can have on the battlefield.
The red-gold iron man before him was like a god of death descended from the sky, moving through his most elite troops as if they were nothing, crushing his army at will with his own strength.
It's as if this thing appeared out of thin air—almost every inch of it is covered with advanced patents that no one has ever heard of before, as if it had been completely detached from the modern industrial system and appeared out of nowhere from the future, a hundred years from now.
Oh right, and the radar... Amir can now imagine why the radar was still AFK, even though this steel god of death was about to hit him in the face.
First of all, the fact that the opponent was only the height of an adult meant that his radar cross-section was very small, and Amir had no doubt that the armor shell had the most advanced anti-radar coating.
A suit of individual armor that can be worn on the body, highly lethal energy weapons, anti-tank missiles miniaturized to fit in a pocket, incredible aerial mobility combined with equally incredible shock absorption and defense...
It was as if they were wearing a fully armed army.
Oh, and it also has anti-radar capabilities. This anti-radar capability makes this armored unit virtually an invisible ghost on the modern battlefield. It possesses the firepower of an entire army, is a stealthy unit, and boasts incredible mobility.
How do we fight this?
So, without any suspense or surprise, this one-sided battle ended quickly.
After a full scan by the armor sensors, Tony was certain that all threatening units had been eliminated.
He then maneuvered his armor directly through the broken windows, landed in the room filled with rubble, and stood in front of the enemy officer, Amir.
Iron Man reached out a hand, grabbed the officer by the collar, and lifted him up like a chick.
Amir was lifted into the air, watching his bloodied face reflected on the golden mask, and felt as if his limbs were starting to disobey him.
"Simple question, I ask, you answer." The voice, processed by mechanical means and a voice changer, came from inside the armor.
Tony, carrying Amir in one arm, asked, "Where's Ulysses Klaue?"
The lie detector scan was activated on one side of his field of vision. The armor was monitoring various physiological signs of the other person in real time, which meant that if the other person was lying, the armor would tell him immediately.
"Krow? So all of this is for Krow, that arms dealer?"
Amir suddenly realized what was happening, and then felt a sense of absurdity.
His territory, his army, all his power, and his dream of achieving hegemony were instantly reduced to ashes.
The man before him had done all this, not even for him. He was simply looking for the arms dealer; taking down his camp and destroying everything he owned was just a side effect.
People aren't even interested in him.
A sense of powerlessness mixed with anger welled up inside him, even briefly overshadowing his fear. Amir spat and cursed, "I don't know. Even if I did, I wouldn't tell you—no glorious jihadist would yield. Kill me if you want, but don't expect to hear a single word from me."
"Oh, really?"
Tony spoke casually, his other hand in the armor spread its five fingers, and dangerous arcs of electricity crackled in his palm.
"Don't worry, you'll eventually speak up... I'm sure of it."
The mechanical sounds from inside the armor were chilling. Amir stared at his distorted reflection in the visor, a sudden chill running through him, sending a shiver down his spine.
In that instant, Amir immediately had a premonition—
—I can't get through this.
...
A minute later, when Iron Man once again took to the air and left the Ten Rings stronghold, Tony had already obtained what he wanted.
"To be honest, he was faster than I expected," Tony said. "I thought he could last at least two minutes."
Jarvis said, "It's a pity that Crow himself isn't here, sir."
"Yeah, but I was already expecting it," Tony said.
Amir confessed that Crow was just a smuggler he had met by chance a few days earlier. This kind of thing is common in war zones; not only the Ten Rings, but all armed groups operating in such places know all sorts of arms dealers, given the high demand and volume of trade in the area.
Crow only stayed at his camp for a few days before receiving word of a new deal, and immediately set off to attend to his business.
But Crow had been getting along quite well with Amir these past few days, so he did manage to give him some information about the next deal.
Klaus said he was going to meet the buyer next and gave Amir his contact information, saying that he could contact him anytime if there were any future transactions.
Thanks to the contact information he left, Tony was able to successfully track down Crow's location. Apparently, after leaving the Middle East, Crow flew straight to somewhere on the African coast, probably where his next client was located.
"Let's make a flight plan. Next, we're going to stake out Klaue," Tony said. "But not now, of course. Let's go home first and do some preparation."
"Yes, sir."
Jarvis agreed, then gave another reminder.
"Sir, you have destroyed another important stronghold of the Ten Commandments. I'm sure their superiors won't be happy about that."
"Oh really? That's great, that's exactly what I was hoping for," Tony said cheerfully.
From the moment Tony Stark was kidnapped and imprisoned in the cave, the Ten Rings and Iron Man became sworn enemies. It's easy to imagine that the original Tony, after becoming Iron Man, would prioritize the Ten Rings as his primary target for revenge.
Although the movie didn't focus on the aftermath, the Ten Rings gang must have received a lot of special treatment from Iron Man afterward.
Although Tony had included the Ten Rings on his threat list, they weren't considered a high threat compared to other threats on the list, and their priority on his to-do list was always low. So he never really bothered to specifically target them.
But like today, taking advantage of the middle of doing errands to give the Ten Rings a little Iron Man shock isn't so bad.
Consider it an act of revenge for Tony's original self.
Iron Man exploded in mid-air with a sonic boom, his tail flames splitting the sky before disappearing into the horizon.
